Binky- I've had bad kidneys since birth. They generally don't give me any hassle apart from the odd UTI but was worse as a child. I'm not sure what they're doing with me tomorrow, but I'm pleased they care enough to have me in

Chilly- will def be watching. It's already on the planner, despite the amount it makes me cry when I see them so happy at the little ones arrival!! DH still refuses to watch it. Wants to just wing it without any pre conceptions as to what it'll be like!!

All I ate for a few days was crisps. My theory during morning sickness was its better to eat something than nothing!! Trying to up the good stuff and fitness but I'm not a big eater so feel full all the time! I'm currently sat at my desk on a gym ball to give me back a rest from a sturdy chair. The perks of working in a sporting environment!

H I'm not sure, I think he's just trying to tame me and give me something to look forward to. I'm quite an organised person so if it was up to me everything would probably be done and ready by now!!!

binkybunny · 10/06/2014 14:37

I hope they manage to do something to give you some relief.

Gym ball sounds like a great idea, I also work in Leisure so might go and try and source one from the gym as I get such back ache when sat down for too long.

I started really craving fresh food at about 14 weeks or so and now can't stomach greasy foods. even though I ate crap for the first 12 weeks I have still only managed to put on 3kg so feeling pretty happy with that!

Lolly84 · 10/06/2014 18:49

Oh brill H you defo have strong symptoms there. I still have a bit of annoying food aversions and it's mostly to what I cook haha!! Not sure about 16 week app think they may take more blood, take a urine test to check for protein, poss weigh me and measure my tummy. Well that's what I am expecting. Boring really!

Oh Binky I love Jersey, my sis has lived there for over 10 years! Infact I love it so much that's where we got married. It has a special place in my heart. Just annoying that it's a flight away! Hoping to get over there next week for lots if cuddles and practice!

Can't wait for OBEM xx

weebairn · 10/06/2014 20:02

I still haven't decorated a nursery and toddler is over one and a half Blush

In my defence, she slept in my bed till about 9 months ! (which was lovely) Now she just trashes rooms… we do have some cute pics up. And a bed next to her cot. It's not needed often any more, but I highly recommend beds next to cots. I do not do standing up in the middle of the night. I recommend beds in all rooms Grin

Work is mental. I was on my feet for 10 hours today & no break. And I got shouted at. Twat. It wasn't my fault.

I am 24 weeks now and people notice I am pregnant which is nice.

I don't watch OBEM when pregnant as I like to live in my little bubble where I believe my birth will be lovely and straightforward (it worked last time!) Grin

I need another gym ball my cat popped mine… they are brilliant

weebairn · 10/06/2014 20:07

Congrats on your niece Lolly, lovely news.

binkybunny · 10/06/2014 21:05

So.... We're team pink! Can't believe she's a girl I was so sure it was a boy :-) The 3/4D was lovely I thought it would be wierd but its just so real now!

mrshjb · 10/06/2014 21:11

Only got time for a quick reply but was dying to hear your news binky so excited for you!! Congratulations :) Could you properly see her face ?!

OP posts:
binkybunny · 10/06/2014 21:46

Yep it was amazing. Could see her sucking her thumb, opening her mouth and sticking her tongue in and out :-)

weebairn · 10/06/2014 21:50

yay congrats binky!

mrshjb · 11/06/2014 07:28

Aww sounds absolutely amazing :)

binkybunny · 11/06/2014 09:05

Thanks guys! Had a bit of a melt down last night as I had been so convinced it was a boy I was just a bit disappointed then cried because I felt guilty. I feel like I had built up a bit of a bond with my little boy and now it's a girl I'm just all over the place.

So much so that we left our baby girl shopping on the checkout last night so heading off on the 50 mile round trip to Sainsburys again tonight!

weebairn · 11/06/2014 09:11

Girls are fab. I also wanted/expected a boy, and got a girl.

We dressed her entirely in adorable unisex brightly coloured babygros for a year (she wears the occasional dress now but they're not very practical, so she mostly runs around in jeans and tshirts.) (This was only cause I don't really like the whole girly thing but now is brilliant because I don't have to buy any more newborn clothes regardless of the gender!) She is boisterous, loud, can throw a ball better than me already, loves trains and buses, likes to draw and paint and eat and run, and has a short mop of curly hair and people often think she's a boy anyway. So at this age anyway gender is a bit irrelevant I think. I don't have a preference this time round...

Girl's bits are also easier to clean during nappy changes :)

I think there are so many emotions during scans/ pregnancy it's quite natural to be upset about things like this. Don't feel guilty. You will love her to pieces when she is here.

KikiThePea · 11/06/2014 09:23

What lovely news about your scan, binky. I think it's only to be expected that you're a bit all over the place after the news. I'm not leaning in any particular direction for a preferred boy or girl, but I'm convinced it's a boy. DH is still convinced it's a girl, so one of us is going to be a bit surprised at some point!

H - we've gone with a green(ish) grey(ish) colour for the nursery, which sounds awful written down, but is actually one of the loveliest colours I've ever come across. The furniture is all very traditional mid-dark wood, but at the same time we have some more modern touches in there too. DH is a product designer and loves 40s, 50s and 60s design so we've got a funky wood and plastic rocking chair, and my absolute favourite thing in the nursery so far is this (because it's so cute. Not the pink one.) - www.heals.co.uk/chairs+stools/vitra-eames-elephant-stool-range-by-charles+ray-eames/invt/eameselephant

It's lovely to hear that everyone seems to be getting on well generally at the minute. Midwife this afternoon. It seems like an age since the last appointment now!

binkybunny · 11/06/2014 09:24

Thanks wee feeling better this morning already as realised my mum and dad have a loft full of my toys and books so it will be lovely to pass them on!

Also, I was never really a girly girl so I imagine we'll still be climbing trees and playing with cars! I dont really like girly clothes either so keeping it quite neutral. We just picked out a few of the less pink bits at the shops last night.

mrshjb · 11/06/2014 16:52

Aw binky sounds like you had a bit of an emotional night. I'm not a girly girl at all either and I've always thought I'd prefer a boy for that reason, but really even if I had the girliest little princess in the whole sparkly pink world, I'm sure I could make myself care about dolls and princesses etc because she'd be my daughter and I'd love her. I'm absolutely sure whatever your little girl turns out like you'll be totally over the moon and besotted with her! What was DH's reaction? Did he think it would be a boy too?

misskgb hope your kidney appointment went well today. I am loving the crisps too. I could eat salt and vinegar all day every day!!

Lolly yes I am feeling very pregnant at the minute, but still totally scared to death in case everything is not developing as it should do. Today I came across the term 'blighted ovum'. Scary stuff. How's your sister getting on?

weebairn surely you should have to have more breaks now you're pregnant? and people shouldn't be dickheads and shout at you?!!! Love the mental image of your little curly daughter running round causing carnage!!

Kiki love the elephant, very cute :) Sounds like your little one is going t have a very cool bedroom!!!

binkybunny · 11/06/2014 19:28

kiki I love thos elephant stools wish we were going for safari theme now but not changing again. Hope all went well at the MW.

H DH also thought a boy and was shocked but is so happy. It didnt take him long to adjust!

Just picked up the clothes we left on the checkout last night. They are sooo cute :-)

misskgb · 11/06/2014 21:22

Not bad thanks H. They've left me with an open appt so can go back at any point without a referral. Told me kidney infections can be harmful ro me n rice krispie n lead to early labour if untreated so basically any doubt get myself there!

A dip stick test cane back positive so sending it off for further tests. May need antibiotics or more regular urine samples but good they're keeping an eye on me.

Sounds lovely binky! Can't wait for my next!

mrshjb · 12/06/2014 17:59

misskgb It's good you seem to be being well monitored and that you can just go straight in if you need to.

binky how did the rest of the family take the news?

I'm feeling progressively more shit as the days go on. Started to find myself being a bit moody as well. Probably because I'm tired and feel so rubbish. I so can't wait until my scan so I can tell work and hopefully it might make life a bit easier. I feel so guilty for whinging about feeling rubbish too after how much I wanted to be pregnant and to be honest if I didn't feel rubbish I would probably be worried. Can't win at all can you!!

H family are all v happy but all my side thought boy too so lots of adjustment going on here!

Having tons of movement now and DH felt her kick last night at last. Such a strange but nice feeling.

Anyone exciting plans for the weekend or spoiling DP's for Fathers Day? DH is working Sunday then flying off to Birmingham for training. I've made him a me and daddy box so bath wash, baby bottle, first fairy tale stories etc then sone strong coffee for late nights/ early mornings, whisky for wetting her head and a lottery ticket to send her to the private school I've chosen Grin

mrsb87 · 13/06/2014 10:22

Oh my goodness I didn't realise you guys had a thread here!!! binks I can't believe you kept thus from me Wink hehe.
How are you all? I will be scanning the thread to catch up today but had to post!
Here is my update...
24+4 today, babyB Is growing nicely and is very active! Still having symptoms from the hg and still taking ondansatron to stop the nausea and sickness.
How is everyone coping with the heat? My ankles are swelling already, it's going to be a looooooong summer!

binkybunny · 13/06/2014 11:05

Sorry mrsb didnt actually think to let you know! It's a nice wee thread here and a lot slower pace than the October one!

mrsb87 · 13/06/2014 13:53

Awwww binky I'm sure I can forgive you! Hehe.

weebairn · 13/06/2014 16:50

I am so over being pregnant this week. And it's still 15 weeks to go arrrrrgh (possibly even longer!)

I feel slow and fat and teary and tired and vulnerable. Can't cope with work, can't cope with toddler, can't cope with exam. I can't exactly remember what I was like this time last pregnancy. I did have a few days off sick at 25 weeks (more or less where I am now) mostly just cause I was shattered. But I only work part time now so I feel like I shouldn't be this tired! Last time I finished work at 33 weeks and this time I really want to try and work till 37… just under 3 months to go.

All my clothes look shit

weebairn · 13/06/2014 16:51

hey mrsb

We must have more or less the same due date, 30 september?
