I had a little 'scratch' on my labia so had 2 stitches-not sure if thats from the birth or theatre tho as I've discovered they literally put a hand in to remove my placenta!

Dh had a week paternity & 3 days A/L. Its not long til he's back off for xmas (1 month exactly) so we'll c how we go. His work are pretty good so he can have a day or two off if needs be or can work from home if I need him

Can't wait to hear how pram shopping goes! If you're not sure then don't feel pressured into buying!

Aww she's sooo cute! Does she look like you?! She looks like she does on the first one but obviously hard to be totally sure when I've only seen a few pictures on you!

Oh wow that sounds a bit gruesome! There really is no glamour to childbirth at all is there!! That's good with your DHs work then. Not long at all until he finishes for Xmas either. How long is he off then?

Yeah, suppose that's the benefit of looking a reasonable early so we can always go somewhere else at a later date if necessary! We need to go to Ikea soon so we can get some storage stuff for his bedroom, keep struggling to find a time when it's not going to be painfully busy though!

Off work today. Caved and phoned in sick. I'm just so tired, I really didn't expect to never sleep at all whilst pregnant. I'm sure I would be coping better if I got the occasional half decent night! My manager has said we can assess what admin work I can do from home for the next few weeks though so I'm sure doing 1-2 days a week from home will really help. Just need to get through the next 5.5 weeks and then it really won't matter if I'm up all night if I can sleep during the day! I'm lucky that my maternity cover has started so early so it's not shafting them over with me having to slow down a bit.

Hi ladies
That's me 38 weeks today!

I am bored out my mind, going from nearly 60 hours a week to nothing has been a massive shock to the system. Doesn't help that everyone is at work and been let down by a few friends. Wish I lived closer to my Scottish friends and family.

Good thing is I am super prepared now as washed all little mans clothes and packed hosp bag. Today I'm having a day in front of tv if my attention span allows me to lol.

Ah misskgb, she is a beauty. Does it feel surreal?? Hope the feeding is getting better. I am hoping to exclusively bf, seen my sis go through it to a certain extent and know it's going to be super hard. Not going to put too much pressure on myself.

Ah H, pram shopping? Have u done any online shopping in prep? Whatever you do remember if you are going branded to take advantage of price match. As you know we went mamas and papas own brand for pram but went maxi cosi for isofix and car seat and they matched John Lewis who were cheapest. Make sure you get best deal as poss.

Ah hope you feel better H, it's so hard but at least your boss is helping.

Me and hubby have planned a nice weekend together, getting my hair done tomorrow then going into Birmingham for lunch and a look around the German Market. Have a nice relaxed evening and just some us time. Not long before the 2 of us become 3 so making a proper effort to spend quality time.

Xx

mrshjb · 14/11/2014 15:52

Wow 38 weeks, the is nearly in sight!! Maybe it'll take a bit of time for you to get used to not working before you start to enjoy the maternity leave?! How long have you lived away from Scotland for? Good stuff on being prepared with the hospital bag and clothes though :)

I have had a look online but I find it really overwhelming because there is so much choice. I'm hoping it's easier when I'm in the store and can narrow stuff down by height and stride length and all that kind of thing! The place that we are going to is an outlet store and quite a few people round here have told me that it's really discounted stuff so I'm hoping to get a good bargain anyways. Apparently it's 'last seasons stock', which seems a bit ludicrous to me, I didn't realise there was pram fashion!!! I will definitely bare the price match in mind though if it turns out not to be as cheap as we expected.

Yeah my Manager has been really good. I definitely think it'll help having a few days from home. Even getting dressed and ready for work in a morning is a killer so I think I will really appreciate being able to spend the day in my sweat pants! Plus it will be better not to have to find something to wear everyday. A lot of my clothes are getting too small now but I'm reluctant to go mad and buy a load of stuff when I will mainly live in comfies after xmas. I've bought a few nice dresses though which should hopefully see me through any Xmas events.

Your weekend sounds lovely. I didn't realise there were German markets in Birmingham too. I've been to the Manchester ones a few times and it's really nice. Shame not to be able to drink mulled wine though mmm!!! Definitely sounds a good plan to try and spend some time together before the little one comes and rocks your world!

Saw on another thread that Gennz is having an elective c section at 39 weeks so she'll have her baby soon! I wish kiki had of come back to update us, really curious as what to she had!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Wow lolly so close! You'll be a mummy in no time at all! I found some days I just couldn't get off the sofa but other days I couldn't stop doing jobs!!

Dh is off for about 2 & a half weeks at xmas. I can't wait! It's going to be so different but so special ?

2 people have said she looks like me,1 like dh & rest neither of us. I think she has my lips but thats it

She's feeding on breast milk in the day 2-3 oz every 2-4 hours & formula at night every 4 hours. We're getting some decent sleep in! She's struggling to open her bowels atm so keeping an eye on that

I keep looking at her & saying 'we created you!' I am completely overwhelmed at what we've done! I get right teary when I think how proud I am of her!!! Shes just too beautiful :-)

Well done on getting everything ready lolly!!! H-if u want a lightweight pc thats easy to put up & down (1 handed) & is suitable for tall people too then have a look at the graco evo-we're so pleased we bought it! There's one with the same name & another word which is slightly different, not sure how x

Lolly84 · 14/11/2014 16:32

Ah H, an outlet sounds like a great plan. It's a minefield out there re prams and I am with you re the last seasons stock how can it really change.

I have lived down here for 6 and a half years now. It's went so fast. Moved down as a single 23 year old and look at me now lol. Funny to think looking back.

Oh Misskgb I just can't wait. I haven't really started the 'come
Out now' thing yet but very close to it.

Ah that's good you are getting a decent sleep in. Sounds like you have a good feeding pattern. I bet you are learning every day.

Ah good to hear about Gennz. It's weird to think where we all started eh on here and now most babies have been born!

Xx

weebairn · 14/11/2014 17:13

Hi lovelies, sorry I seem to have fallen off this thread!! Abby is just over 6 weeks old now and turning into quite a different baby - alert and smiling. There was a growth spurt at 6 weeks which nearly killed me, feeding and fretting all day for a few days, but she's through it now and settled, smiling and did a chunk of sleep for 5 hours last night which was great. About this age my first daughter suddenly started sleeping a loooooong time overnight -like 10 hours at a time - you never know. I am a bit sleep deprived but getting good at cat napping when I can, and I usually get a decent chunk in the early evening as soon as both kids are asleep. I am such a party animal going to bed at 7.30pm…

Gorgeous pics missk and yes you are doing brilliantly being so active - make sure you rest if you need to! I found I would have bursts of energy in the first couple of weeks and then collapse a bit. By 4 weeks I stopped bleeding and suddenly felt fine. I've been doing little bits of exercise but worked up to an hour of yoga yesterday which felt great, and am generally out and about (with toddler in pushchair and baby in sling - exhausting! - baby doesn't much like the pushchair yet)
Sounds like you're doing really well with the expressing too, I did some with first baby but just too lazy this time round! I learned quickly how to feed lying down so nights are pretty decent, even though I feed a lot sometimes I just have baby next to me so I put her on and then just go back to sleep while she feeds! I'm hoping most of the intensive feeding has passed now and I am happy to leave her with my mum for a couple of hours after I've fed her (went to the pub on my own to see mates yesterday, had a massage today!)

Glad you have support at work helen. I had a week off around 25 weeks and got some energy back afterwards, enough to get me through to the end of work. It's really tough. God I don't miss being pregnant.

Your weekend plans sound great Lolly - ooh I love xmas markets - and will be drinking plenty of mulled wine sorry and so close now for you! It's definitely nice to spend couple time while you can, sometimes me and DP feel like ships in the night as he puts toddler to bed, keeps an eye on baby in the late evening if she wakes, and then I take over for the night/early morning!

I think of gennz too and hope she's doing ok. And Lady as well, who would have been due around now I think. I think of her a lot.

That's a decent amount of time off over xmas then misskgb. What are you doing for Xmas? Glad you're managing to get some decent sleep too, that must be a real god send. Aww how sweet, I really can't imagine what it must be like to hold your baby in your arms, it sounds really amazing :) Thanks for the advice on the pram, I am going to do a little bit of last minute googling later on so will have a look at that one too!

I agree Lolly, I think it really prays on a certain kind of person to have any kind of baby fashion. It's not for me at all, but each to their own I suppose! It is crazy to think about how much has happened since we all joined this thread isn't it! It would be lovely to try and all keep in touch. Maybe we could move it to a facebook group at some point if we all use it?!

Nice to hear from you weebairn. Abby is so cute, love the little smile! You look really well too. Glad to hear that you're managing to make time for yourself now as well. I'm impressed with the laid down feeding, I will be coming to you for tips in a few months! Lucky you with the mulled wine. I absolutely love it, and mulled cider mmmm!!! Yeah I'm 29+2 now so I feel like once I hit 30 weeks then the end is approaching! Another daft psychological milestone but it's getting me through!

Lady was due on 11th November. We're friends on Facebook and I speak to her quite a bit. She's doing amazingly well to say what she's been through, she's just come back from a mini break in Lanzarote with a friend. I'll let her know you're thinking about her :)

just wanted to pop in and say hi as I have been MIA for a while. finding my new job as mum the hardest but most rewarding job ever. Can't believe she's 4 weeks old today!

Will try and catch up with the thread soon but hope all's ok Smile

weebairn · 16/11/2014 09:33

Hey binky, nice to hear from you
The first few weeks are a roller coaster- mad adrenaline after birth, and then feeling shaky tired and weeping! At least that was how I found it. Coping with a birth that wasn't how you hoped and making hard decisions about feeding must be hard too. Add in sleep deprivation and it's a huge adjustment...

How are you feeling physically? I felt pretty awful till 4 weeks but my bleeding stopped then and I feel more normal every day.

Hope you're getting some rest. Xxx

mrshjb · 17/11/2014 08:11

Morning everyone, glad you're doing well binky. Can't believe she's 4 weeks old either, time really has flown hasn't it. Would love to to see some more pictures if you get chance :)

I am now the proud owner of a three in one pram set thing. It's the mamas and papas zoom. I was a bit sceptical because it was on offer and only £299 for a car seat, carry cot and push chair, but it hit all of our requirements and is guaranteed for 2 years, so hopefully it'll be ok! I couldn't see the difference between that and some if the more expensive ones so it was hard to say I wanted to spend more money for what appeared to be no reason. I had a face like a slapped arse on Saturday for some reason though so didn't really enjoy pram shopping! It's nice to have it sorted now though :)

29+5... Come on 30 weeks :) !!!!

misskgb · 17/11/2014 10:24

Lolly- I didn't get the 'I want you out now feeling', I was just desperate yo meet her & crack on with parenthood!

6 weeks already weeb! Wow! I'm still expressing but only once or twice a day which is a bit naughty. Hoping to increase that now dh is back at work-as I attempt to chill out a bit more in between feeds

H- Olivia is still needing to be woken in the night for a feed every 4 hours but if we can get her to feef around 10pm then I do the 2am feed & dh does the 6am one :-) but it means we both get some sleep. We'll be at the inlaws for xmas this year I think!

Woo hoo on the pushchair, huge tick on that to do item!!

Apart from being amazing, Olivia doesn't like to open her bowels much. She went 41 hours from ties-thurs & mw told us t shouldn't be more than 24 hours so on fri we were told to c the gp who was useless so ended up at the royal where she was found to be completely healthy, she's not bloated or anything, she just doesn't poo! They gave her a suppository & by the time she went it was another 41 hours. That was 3am on Saturday morning & she's not been since :-( I don't mind as she's healthy but she's definitely constipated & I find jer painful cry really difficult to cope with. I'm changing her formula today & am seeing the mw once I get out of bed!! Fingers crossed she goes again soon

Lolly84 · 17/11/2014 10:28

Hey everyone

Wow Binky 4 weeks, amazing. Don't worry about being MIA getting used to your new job will defo be taking up along of your time.

Loving the photos weeb! Beautiful!x

Ah Helen, congrats on your purchase. I didn't see that on our pram shopping but seen it another time when I went back to M and P. Someone was getting a demo and I thought it looked fab. Like you I like their guarantee.

I am up for doing a fb group, how would we go about it?

Had such a lovely weekend, got my hair done, went for dinner, couldn't face the Christmas markets so went to Leamington Spa instead and had a Mexican and then went to a seperate dessert restaurant. Ate sooo much, don't know how I managed. Hubby and I stayed in bed all day yesterday during day watching programmes which was lovely, only got out of bed for food or wee breaks lol. We have never done that and will neverbe able to do it again. Hubby has gone to work this morning super chilled and refreshed which is great as he has been so busy recently.

Oh H, flying by now!! I'm 38+3 and no signs of anything xxx

mrshjb · 19/11/2014 07:40

Morning,

How are you all getting on? Has Olivia got any better at doing a poo misskgb? My Niece and my friend's baby were both like that at the start as well. Not really sure why but they both sorted themselves out in time. Think it was just a bit grim when they were pooing after not going for a few days. Remember my Mum saying she saw my Niece do one that just kept coming out like a Mr Whippy...!! Hope none of you are reading this over breakfast haha!

Lolly your weekend sounds lovely. I love Mexican food :) Do you feel more relaxed after having a day in bed?! Yeah I was showing my Mum and Sister the pram yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it actually, just need to test it on an actual baby now!!

30 weeks today, yey!! I've had less than 6 hours sleep in the last two nights and that was all broken with lots of wee's etc so I'm feeling like absolute crap, but the end is in sight now. I've got less than 5 weeks at work and have agreed two days a week from home until I finish so I'm hoping to just nap during the day and give up trying to get a decent sleep at night. Feel so guilty complaining about being pregnant, but I am finding it so hard work on no sleep. I'm really hoping this insomnia is just a reaction to hormones and therefore once I've given birth I will actually be able to nap when baby is asleep or DH has him or I'm just going to be an absolute wreck!!

Hope you're all good and all the lovely little girls are doing well too :)

Oh and with the Facebook group, I think we would just need to set up a private group (one of these that you can't see unless you're invited in) and then you'd have to just private message me with your full name or email address so I could invite you in! Let me know if you all fancy it or whether you'd rather stay on here!xx

Hey

Didn't realise I sent message at same time as misskgb!!

Hope Olivia's opening her bowels more, must be hard for babies to be inside and everything working to learn a completely new way of working! Sounds like you are coping great xx

Ah Helen, totally feeling your pain with the sleep. I have hardly slept this week so far. Up all night and then sleep 6-9. Last night was diff, slept 4-7. I suppose 3 hours is better than none. I have decided to get out of bed and get busy to try and get a better sleep tonight.

I am so excited to have company this weekend, my sis and niece are over fri-wed. Can't wait to see them.

Ah 30 weeks Helen, such a great milestone. I am down to single figures of days - 9. Girl from my antenatal class gave birth yesterday 2 days before her due date. I am next on our antenatal list but other girls are showing more signs.

Defo up for Facebook x

mrshjb · 19/11/2014 09:31

It's crazy isn't it Lolly. Why do you think you're not sleeping? What are you up to today? Aw sounds lovely to see your family. I love spending time with my niece, even when she's being a little monster haha!

Wow single figures, how exciting! I really remember when you got your bfp and it doesn't really seem like that long ago. Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your little man when he arrives :) I like hearing stories about people who give birth just before their due date, I am dreading the thought of having to be induced! Have you had many BH or anything like that?

Random question but did any of your belly buttons pop out?! And if so when did it happen?! I have always had a crazy deep belly button, so much so I've never been able to feel the bottom of it, but now it's getting increasingly more and more shallow!

If everyone is up for Facebook I'll get it sorted :) xx

OP posts:
misskgb · 19/11/2014 15:54

I'm up for fb-will pm you :-)

I didn't get a freaky belly button I'm afraid, but when Olivia was rice krispie, she was over on my right hand side & not near the middle. Is your little man lying near your belly button?

Olivia finally pooed today (twice!) Butonly aafter another trip to the gp who again sent us hospital again. Medically nothing wrong so got to keep an eye on her & if it persists maybe have some further tests but fx the lactulose she's on helps now

Dh & I are taking her to c the lights in town at the weekend. We've decided it's something we'll try to do just us 3 each year . I'm really looking forward to it!

9 days lolly WOW! hoping you're another early one as it's great meeting your cargo for the first time! H obviously I've got everything crossed u r too, but not for a few more weeks!

Olivia is 2 weeks today & I can't decide which tipple to endulge in for the first time in months......decisions decisions!

Lolly84 · 19/11/2014 20:43

Hey

Helen, I think it's my mind over drive. I have a hypno cd I am going to try and listen to tonight to see of that helps! Driving me crazy!

I literally have had no BH or anything like that!! Not a twinge! I am just thinking he is very comfortable and wants to be cooked a bit longer. Have midwife on fri so looking forward to knowing how engaged he is!

My belly button is out, find it so funny! Hmmm can't remember when it happened. Prob around your stage!!

Ah Misskgb, glad there is more movement. Good there is nothing medically wrong!!

I will pm you too, didn't know there was such a thing! I find fb much more easier than this. Easier to keep up with xx

binkybunny · 19/11/2014 21:09

Hi all, still haven't properly caught up but can't believe how close you are now Lolly and H you're not too far away!

misskjb Issy also only poos every few days andvyep, we've had the Mr Whippy effect, it just wouldn't stop!

I'm up for fb, find it easier to keep up with my other group on there than on here, mn doesn't always update properly on my phone nd I can't upload or see pics on the app.

Oh and H today was my first successful day time nap and Issy is 1 month old today, so try and enjoy naps while you can... Sorry for the bad news!,

binkybunny · 19/11/2014 21:12

H pm'd you my full name

mrshjb · 19/11/2014 21:40

I've started the FB group. If you want to join just send me a message with your Facebook name on and I'll add you as a friend and then will be able to add you to the group.

Binky your message hasn't come through yet, have tried to send you a message as well! Let me know if you don't get it!
