Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

got docs next mon so will talk to them then but will get dh to pick some up for now, feel so ill today, think it must be anemia mixed with lack of sleep! arrrghhh!

FoghornLeghorn · 05/09/2006 11:54

Welcome newbies - lovely to see you
I found mumsnet when I was pregnant with DD and I must admit I was on our ante natal thread constantly (due July 2004) as it was my first, just don't see to get the time nowadays what with work and DD to contend with. I'm sure you will find it a great help though, I certainly did.

Stacey - Congratulations Feels amazing doesn't it ! I've been married 9 weeks now and only just getting used to being called Mrs G

Stretchmarks, I can't tell if I have any new ones of not, I had that many with DD! I;m not bothered either way to be honest, DD wrecked my tummy beyond repair so not as if I'm going to be out in crop tops or anything.

Buggy is being delivered Friday which I am very excited about - can't wait to have a push ! NJ, hope you manage to get something sorted with a buggy once and for all.

Morning all or should i say afternoon? having a lazy day!
Mygirl i really agree with you on the flushes and racing heart, DH thinks its really funny he says i suddenly turn into a beetroot and sweat poors off me and he's thinking of finding out a jumper. 3+ times a day is not funny.
Welcome to jamcrumpet, i counted up the stats lust after you were added and was amazed that there are 50 of us now! did'nt realise Nov was such a popular birthday month.

morning all!!!

welcome to jamcrumpet and young mum!! do either of you know the flavour yet?

has any one tried the anti-d in their bum innstead, personally i find it a little less painful (?extra padding) i've always had them their except the last one which madwife did in my thigh and it really hurt, for ages after too! so i'm sticking with the stab in my arse in future!!

i'm swigging gaviscon straight from the bottle, drank a small one in 3 days! (acccording to the bottle i am exceeding the recomended dose) you can get huge botttles prescribed from your gp, highly recomended as it ends up costing a fortune!!

i'm another with hot flushes, but my hb is fine (12.2) i blame the central heating system dp installed in me!!

tmi alert, was attemting a tidy up of my lady bits the other night, it appears to have vanished under a wall of belly, can't get a waxing appointment till next week - this is so undignified!! have started compiling a mental list of things i miss about not being pg... nicely trimmed ladybits... sleeping on my front... bladder control... nice underwear... being able to eat a meal in one sitting rather than 2... sleeping at all... being able to watch tele without crying...

saralou100 · 05/09/2006 12:31

walking without waddling...

Kif · 05/09/2006 12:46

Welcome j-c.

Had my antenatal today - was informed that the blood test results I'd had done in June showed me to be anaemic!

Got some iron now - I guess better 2.5 months late than never - explains the dizziness and feeling spaced!

I miss: sushi; steak that is rare enough to walk to your plate; wine (I even tried drinking some the other day, but it made me sick); caffeninated coffee without guilt; boobs which are boob shape - not grown out of all proportion; a non-elephant sized rear end; walking up stairs without getting out of breath; not having my mum phone out of the blue to check if I am having any 'discharge' and if I'm feeling OK; being able to work hard without worrying that I'm diverting oxygen away from my baby; living in a clean house....

Bring on twelve months from now - perhaps it'll be back to normality by then!

jamcrumpet · 05/09/2006 12:46

I've found Gaviscon chewable tablets good esp just before bedtime which is currently about 9pm! Poor DH, that used to be good news for him, now it means Gaviscon and lots of pillows! (not to mention the overgrown bits...)

Don't know the flavour yet saralou100 but wish I did now - everyone thinks it's a boy except for me so we'll wait and see!

Thanks for the tip on the Anti-D in the bum, I'll ask if they can see any stretch marks round there whilst they're at it 'cause I tried to check earlier but was foiled by the saddlebags which have appeared!

Sorry to hear lots of you are suffering with the racing pulse and breathlessness but a little relieved at the same time as I hadn't heard of that symptom before & was a bit worried. Stacey, your Doc sounds like a right muppet - you poor thing, hope you get it sorted out soon & start feeling better

jamcrumpet · 05/09/2006 12:50

i miss having a sex drive apart from in dreams and that just doesn't count!

saralou100 · 05/09/2006 12:56

pate, keep staring at it, wanting it... also miss sex drive (or being able to do more than one position when i can be bothered)

staceym11 · 05/09/2006 13:07

dh misses my sex drive. thing is i have drive for foreplay, then want to roll over and go sleep, poor lamb!!!

I miss being able to sit up in bed without my stomach muscles making a weird cone shape. I also miss wearing my normal clothes. I am quite happy to have bigger boobs but I don't like have big blue crayon-like lines all down my chest when I'm warm.

I thought it was just me who was struggling with sex drive. All the books tell me it can be more enjoyable during pregnancy but I'm certainly not finding this!

On the positive side, I love having a baby wriggling around inside me (except at night) and I love shopping for all the baby stuff. I think I might miss the wriggles after I've had the baby.

Kaybee7777 · 05/09/2006 13:14

I miss being able to sleep on my tummy!

I love feeling the baby moving around inside me too - it's so much fun Will definately miss it.

LeBe · 05/09/2006 13:26

Oh the things i miss - being able to stay awake past 9, being able to eat more than 2 mouthfuls of something before being full up, bending down without feeling like something has ruptured, my feet resembling something lady like rather than ballons etc... But i would also like to add that i am more than willing to go thro all this for the end result (would love not to tho).

Hoping Cat - I also have that whole weird cone thing going on it makes other people laugh but i can only do it about 3 times before feeling knackered!! Can also make my belly button pop out now, good party trick unfortunatly too tired to go to parties!

Saralou - I know what you mean about tidying the garde i want to do it but am worried about cutting something off!!! My girl you are a braver woman than me letting DH go down there with a sharp instrument.

I got the massive bottle of Gaviscon from the docs but its not actually Gaviscon and doesnt taste quite as noce but it was free and i am guzzling too.

Oh i also miss wearing something other than tracksuit bottoms, but funnily enough i dont miss my sex drive cos i cant be bothered and i dont feel very sexy with a space hopper stuffed up my jumper.

staceym11 · 05/09/2006 13:32

oh i miss sleeping!!!!!!!! i want to sleep, expecially when dd and dh are tucked up snoring and im wandering around feeling like a spare part!

podglet · 05/09/2006 13:39

I miss being able to take a deep breath, and my DP has always had to trim my ladybits as I can't see to do them properly (am partially sighted)

Also miss most of the things you guys miss, esp the eating anything more than 2 mouthfuls before feeling full.

Miss being able to do up my own shoelaces - DP found it most funny when he had to lace my boots up at the weekend coz I couldn't bend over far enough to see what I was doing

However, am happy to miss all these things for the end result! However, I now feel like I have been pg for years and am impatient to meet my LO!

HopingCat · 05/09/2006 13:40

Lebe - I'm not sure it's a good thing to be making your belly go cone-shaped as a party trick! I was warned to be careful as these muscles can pull apart. Not sure whether this is true though, it wasn't a midwife who told me it, but I can't remember who did now.

LeBe · 05/09/2006 13:43

ergh that sounds horrible, thanks for the warning! I only actually do it when sitting up or ehen ive been slouching, how else are you supposed to do it? I will try and be more careful though.

Afternoon, - blimey there's a lot of us and a lot of chat!

Saralou: LOL at the topic you've started - what I miss - can't wait for a normal-ish life again!

Sorry to hear about the faint/hot flushes/racing pulse thing that you're talking about - but it's a huge relief to know that I'm not the only one - I was getting very worried. FYI though, my iron levels are pretty high so I don't think (in my case at least) that it is to do with anemia.

Top tip from a nutritonist friend: - If you're only a little anemic, Ovaltine generally sorts it!

saralou100 · 05/09/2006 14:33

i miss painting my toe nails pretty colours too... it's looking rather chipped and growing out it's not been done for so long.. pedicure needed!!

very brave to let dp's trim 'bits' mine did offer, but i don't think what he did was anything resembling trimming!! hence why i need to see a professional to get the job done!!

ds's been asleep a long time now, gotta go poke him!!

Delia · 05/09/2006 15:09

I miss being decisive! i even phoned dh at work today to ask what i wanted for my lunch because all i could do was stare at the fridge, freezer and cupboard! and being able to sleep right through the night without having to get up for that desperate wee every couple of hours! but like the rest of you i know it will be worth it in the end.

FoghornLeghorn · 05/09/2006 15:12

Help Urgently !!!

Now I know I am probably just making myself feel worse and panic more but where should i be measuring my tummy from ? Is it public bone to top of bump ?

Please tell me its not an i am doing it wrong
