Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Oh no

I posted last week when I was 28 weeks, midwife measured me at 31. Have just got DH to do it 3 times for me and now i'm measuring between 33-34. I am bloody sure my dates can't be wrong, surely between us, the doctor, midwife and scans someone would've come up with a different date but we have all had it exactly the same.

Am dreading a 10lber

yeah could be, although I only seem to have been putting weight on on my bump - i've not really put any on anywhere else.
Hopefully midwife will offer me a growth scan when I see her next

Hi all - welcome to the newbies and sorry to hear that a few of us aren't feeling too good.
Right - stretch marks - no new ones as yet. I have weighed myself (brave I know and have not yet gained a stone extra and only 7 weeks to go!) I have really bad heartburn this time but have resisted taking anything yet, but I don't think that will last as it is everynight now (must be a hairy baby)
LOL at the sex drive thing - dh is devestated, when I was pg with ds there was no stopping me but he feels very hard done by at the moment - I am sure it is conected to whether you are having a boy or a girl
Can I have some advice please? I have found a doube buggy that I really want but I need to order it from abroad (to get it £100 cheaper ) However, I can't find a u.k stockinst to go and see how it folds down etc and whether it will go in my car, how heavy it is, all the usual stuff. My dilema is, do I order it and try it when it gets here and then return to the manufacturer if it is not what I want? I really like the buggy (and I do have a double here, if it really is no good) Oh sorry - NJ I simpathize with you - I have been obsessing over this for a few weeks but I do want it hear before the baby comes. any ideas?

Debz99 · 05/09/2006 16:31

How do you measure bump and calculate size?

FoghornLeghorn · 05/09/2006 16:33

each centimetre is supposed to equate to one week - therefore at 29 weeks I should measure at 29 cm but am measuring at 33-34.

I was reading a thread on here earlier about fundal height and how inaccurate it is even when measured by a midwife. Don't worry about it too much as my measurement at 29 weeks was much bigger than the midwife's was at 30 weeks. If I can find it I'll put the link on here now.

HopingCat · 05/09/2006 16:42

I've found the thread about measuring fundal height.

thread

Hope this makes you feel better.

Debz99 · 05/09/2006 16:45

Oh right thanks, and if you carry more fat (being larger) before conception that obviously makes a difference, do you know by how much?

HopingCat · 05/09/2006 16:52

Have you got a graph/chart in the notes that the midwife writes on? I have a personalised chart, which was created for me by the hospital based on my bmi at my first appointment. The midwife plots my fundal height on the graph at each appointment. If you look at the lines on the graph you can try and guess how big the baby will be at 40 weeks.
So far I have been right at the top of what is considered normal for my bmi every time the midwife has measured and plotted on the graph.

Im a bit worried now girls because just before I moved i saw my mw and she said i was 2-3cm over which was ok but since ive been going to the new mw she hasnt measured me she just felt with her hands andsaid fine! I have had no graph plotting or anything else?

Saralou - I totally agree abot the toe nails mine have not seen nail polish for the last two months ive tried but to no avail and bless dp has offered but i think they would look worse than nothing.

I am definatly measuring my bump tonight, do you think eating a load of chocolate before hand makes a difference - actually thats a point sometimes when ive been to the mw ive been lying down completely on the table and other times have been sat quite upright, that must surely make a difference dont you think?

youngmum21 · 05/09/2006 18:23

Hi all

Thanks for adding me to your due date list!!!

seems like im not the only one living on a gaviscon!!!!

I miss sleeping and eating wot i want and my sex life it so boring and alot of effort!!!!

camgirl · 05/09/2006 18:33

Hello all,

Mummy2Toby - I wanted to mention that if you buy your pram online from the US you will have to pay import tax when it is shipped. This would be over and above the price you pay the manufacturer and might negate any savings you otherwise would have made?

To all those having the anti-D injection - bum is the way to go!!

I've developed a horrible pain in my pelvis which I'm really hoping is the result of too much yoga and not SPD. Its made walking quite painful and is really getting me down.

I am missing red wine and sex! Also miss being able to walk around easily and being able to wear my lovely autumn clothes.

Hi All

I miss rowing not for the exercise of course but for the girly get togethers before and after.

As for my sex life well i have been sleeping in the back room now for a week - there justis not room for me husdand and pillows all in one bed.

Welcome jamcrumpet and youngmum21.

If you do buy the buggy from abroad and you return it you might be stung for export tax as well as import tax

Catch up with you all later

Debz99 · 06/09/2006 08:26

Looked back through my notes last night I have not chart for plotting my fundus height however I do have one record of measurement which was taken at 28 weeks and I measured 31 cms, it came flooding back to me that she said that was fine as I was a bigger lady anyway and had a bit of a tummy before I conceived !

Debz99 · 06/09/2006 08:48

I miss pate, sleep, going to the loo and feeling that my bladder is completely empty, lying on my front and nice comfy sex !

Thanks for that HC - I feel slightly better as was reading pregnancy and birth last night where a lady was only 29 weeks but measuring 33 so she was sent for a gluecose intolerance test which came back negative, hospital basically said she should expect well over a 9lber - when her DD arrived she was 8lb 4oz
Just goes to shows its all a load of rubbish and what will be will be - can you tell I feel calmer about it today ?

Morning! Not much to report, i have very sore boobs but no leakage for a few days.

Im not going to get to stressed about a to big baby either surley its better to be to big than to small? Plus if it really is that huge then they will do a c/section which isn't ideal but as long as the baby get's here safley i don't care.

NatalieJane · 06/09/2006 10:01

Morning girls

I miss sleep, being able to get through Corrie with out needing a wee, sea food, and sex!

I have been for the first part of my diabetes test this morning, have to go back for 11.15 to have the second lot of bloods done, I am absolutely starving and so so thirsty, looks like a big lunch today!!

I had the bloods taken for the anti-D thing and a quick ante-natel, babies heart beat is fine, the midwife couldn't work out which way he is lying but she said that isn't important at 28 weeks, wasn't expecting to actually see a midwife, but I suppose it will save me having to go next week now - which means I can put it off for a bit!!

I ordered one of those rocking reclining glider chair things and footstool yesterday I always wanted one with DS but we couldn't afford one then, so it is a bit exciting for me - how sad is that, getting excited over a chair?!!

Anyway, I suppose I had better get on with some housework whilst I wait to go back to the hospital. Have a good day everyone TC xxx

staceym11 · 06/09/2006 10:34

NJ - LMAO just read that as you cant get through corrie without needing a wee some sea-food and some sex! made me think you must have a happy dh!!! i always wanted on of those chairs, but as well as no money for one got no room!

having real stress as im starting tutoring my cousin when he comes back from australia (hes 14) but his acedemic age is only about 8 so having problems with textbooks!!

I slept last night!!!!!!!!! still had to get up to wee but no 3 hr stretches of not sleeping!! feel better today!
