Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Dear 'Due Novembers',
Hope you don't mind another late newcomer! (hi there Youngmum21)
Was sitting here with large slab of choc cake worrying & watching stomach move like something out of Alien when I found your thread & feel calmer already .
Am a first timer (to MN & being Mum)due 12th Nov am hopelessly disorganised and dying to be able to sleep on my front again!

Nice to meet you all & hope you had a good nights sleep..

MeAndMyBoy · 04/09/2006 20:39

Oh LeBe I can completely understand you wanting to get to the bottom of why you are feeling the way you are. Have you thought about Vit b6 complex and omega 3 supps - might help a little bit. Also i have been taking iron tabs all the way through this pg even though I am not aneamic - ended up very aneamic when I bleed after having DS and so decided to 'stock up a bit' so if I do bleed this time hopefully I won't end up quite so low - it really does make you feel crappy. thanks for the reasurance - I know I am being daft really. Fingers crossed it goes very quickly.

Youngmummy - you are more than welcome hope you don't mind I have added you to the stats list - as you can see there are a couple of other ladies who are due the last couple of days in Oct that are on this thread too.

Charlee hun - OUCH!!!! i have been slapping on the baby oil on every night which is helping I think. My jamas's are ruined mind you.

Sarahlou, mygirl - I've started with Christmas stuff as well - done nothing for the baby yet though. Did see a couple of really sweet outfits in H&M and a beautiful cable knit cream hat and scarf I fell in love with.

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 20:56

Welcome! Wow there is loads of us now! That's good though becuase when we all graduate to the post-natal board we will hvae ots of familliar people to chat to!

I still haven't given a second tought to my hospital bag but im not sue until the end of Nov so i supose it kinda justifys my lazyness!

I have to have MORE anti-D injections next time i see the m/w and another set of full blood tests! It wouldn't be so bad except she injects the anti-D strieght into the muscle of my thigh! ouch, at least my daily injections are into fat.

MeAndMyBoy · 04/09/2006 22:30

see just come back on to see who's around and jamcrumpet your making me hungry lol

Charlee - OUCH, your poor tummy that must really hurt. Ouch for your injections too!

OMG - Christmas - haven't even given it a second thought yet! I did get my cards in Feb in the sale so I feel that I'm organised!!! Think it will be vouchers for all!

Had my first dream last night where i had the baby! It was a boy and he arrived early and I didn't have anything for him so DP had to go out for clothes and nappies etc and then people started visitng and I didn't want them there! Very odd!

HopingCat · 05/09/2006 09:07

Good morning. Hope people are feeling ok today. Welcome to the 2 newcomers. I'm a first timer and love being on here. The advice is great and everyone is lovely.

A couple of people have mentioned iron supplements. I've heard they can make you constipated, which is a problem I've been having for a couple of weeks now and I haven't started taking iron yet. Does iron always make you constipated? If not I think I'll get some even if my recent blood test comes back ok. When I've tried to be a blood donor I've been refused because my iron level was too low.

I've found my first stretch marks. I thought I was doing so well, but I was looking in the wrong place. They are all on my bum and the back of my thighs. I didn't realise I'd put much weight on there. Oh well, at least nobody will see them.

LeBe · 05/09/2006 09:27

Morning

Welcome Jamcrumpet hmmm chocolate cake!!!

Mygirl - i got the results of the receptionist so i think i will clarify with the mw when i see her next week.

Meandmyboy - I think i will take iron anyway like you suggest, do you know what the best one is and where to get it?

Charlee - What can i say other than ouch!! I really feel for you.

Hopingcat - Not that i wish stretchmarks on anyone but i am so glad you posted that, i dont know if you saw one of my earlier post where i had just found a load of stretchmarks on my bum, but im glad to know im not alone

Anyway feeling a bit better today, hopefully it will stay that way. I do feel like my hip has been wrenched out of place, its like it every morning until about lunchtime and then its ok but ive heard its to make childbirth easier, so i all up for that! x

jamcrumpet · 05/09/2006 09:52

Thanks for being so welcoming -love this site already.

Oh dear, haven't checked my pantomime horse sized behind for stretch marks, thought I was doing well but will to have a sneaky peak later!

I was told my haemoglobin was 11 and should take iron tablets but am also suffering from same problem as Hopingcat which has now led to a few 'Nobby Stiles' not sure what to do about the iron tablets now - isn't pregnancy fun!

Glad Charleesunnysunsun mentioned Anti-D injections I got told last week I need to have them and they hurt, always great to hear! Hope they are not too bad?

NatalieJane · 05/09/2006 10:02

LOL at you lot searching for stretch marks, I am doing the close your eyes and ignore thing this time, and so far I haven't found a single new one!! LOL Have had some of my old ones stretching though, so I haven't got away with it! I am finding little areas of varacose(sp?) veins though, don't know which is worse to be honest!

I am really feeling for some of you though, I thought I was having quite a hard time of it this time (compared to last time I certainly am) but nothing like some of you are having to put up with. Mostly my 'ailments' are more emotional, and I get sore hips and I think am still bordering on SPD, but other than that and being HUGE I am doing OK.

Hello to the newbies BTW, forgot to say hello yesterday, I blame my pregnancy brain! It has really kicked in in the last few weeks actually, not sure if it is just the pregnancy or if it is the constant 'buggy on the brain' disorder I seem to have developed! LOL

Oh well on with the housework I guess. hope you all have a good day. TC xxx

Morning all
Jamcrumpet lmao at your panto horse comment.

NJ I'm with you on the not looking approach - just slapping on the baby oil and I'll check the damage afterwards.

Iron stuff - the iron tabs I'm taking are from our supplements range (run a health and wellness business) it has iron and vit C combined. Mygirl found some liquid iron supplement in Holland & Barret I think she said that was iron and Vit C - the liquid doesn't make you as constipated, or I got some liquid stuff called spatone from Boots when I first found out I was pg (but Mygirl had problems finding that so don't know if they have discontinued it) - tastes vile but prefer that to constipation and piles lol.

Plenty of water will help ease constipation.

Righ off to take DS down to the park and wear off some of this energy he has at the moment. Talk later.

x

Charleesunnysunsun · 05/09/2006 10:22

Sorry Jamcrumpet! Anti-D injections are not that bad really just a bit sore after where it's the muscle but here's a tip if you wiggle your toes while it's being done it makes it better.

I am so out of breath today contemplating seeing the dr as im getting dizzy through lack of oxygen though don't think there's anything they can do so i might just have a lay down when dp gets back from work at 2pm.

I have had loads of dreams, the baby's always a girl very tiny with lots of thick black hair! I have loads of breast feeding dreams to for some reason.

podglet · 05/09/2006 10:26

How rude of me - welcome to Jamcrumpet - great name! LOL at panto horse comment, DP keeps telling me mine is so large that small children could shelter under it - he's a love ain't he?

Re Iron supplements - I am taking Spatone which has no taste if it is in a glass of OJ which also counteracts the whole constipation thing. My iron was down to 10.8 last week so I am taking 3 sachets every 2 days (2 one day, 1 the next) to try and boost it. To be honest, I don't feel any better yet and I've been doing it for nearly 2 weeks

ok so if the iron level should be above 12 why when mine was at 10.3 in the hospital a couple of weeks ago have they sent me home with nothing and i wonder why i still feel dizzy and shit???? stupid doctors!!!!!!!!!!

might get dh to pick some up for me today.

am so tired today and madam is grotty so having a bad day!! sorry to bring the mood down! didnt sleep well last night which i have now directly linked to how sick i am (morning sickness dissappeared except if im tired!)

staceym11 · 05/09/2006 11:18

mygirllolipop i have hot flushes and racing pulse, could that really be the anemia? if so im def getting iron supplements!

HopingCat · 05/09/2006 11:24

Thanks for the advice on iron tablets.
While I'm asking for advice, does anyone know if I can take indigestion tablets? I have some days when I get indigestion all day, no matter what I've eaten or how much I've eaten. It usually starts after breakfast.
