Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

How itchy? Tell your m/w - it can be a sign of a liver problem.

I'm just feeling tired and slow all over - and frustrated with myself for being so tired! Guess I'd better get used to it, with lo with us soon!

youngmum21 · 03/09/2006 19:44

Hi all pretty new to this site but reading all your messages has helped me see we are all in the same boat and am not the only one that worrs bout things!!! ive got 8 weeks left and am gettin more and more nervous as this is my first!!!!

Mummy2Toby · 03/09/2006 19:45

Evening everyone - well my pains have eased off now, so thank goodness for that, I will now spend the evening with my feet up - The itching could be your skin stretching, I tend to get that just before a growth spurt - try putting some cream on or drinking lots of water helps me
Forgot to say, as well as my 11 bags of rubbish clothes, I also managed to sort out some of ds's clothes that no longer fit - he was a Navember baby, so anybody expecting a boy please have a look here I will be adding more newborn stuff etc when I get a bit more organised and dh finally stops going fishing, so that I can get me hands on the camera - also a double buggy there if anybody is interested. Am off to have a nice cup of tea - but I really fancy a lemonade for some reason - oh well will have to wait as ds is in bed and dh is out Take Care all

podglet · 04/09/2006 08:15

Hi,

Charlee - It could be a lot of water but the midwife felt the baby at my 24 week check and said the baby was big too just going to have to wait and see what the consultant says!

Mygirl - I must admit I may be the same as you as I was caryying a little extra when I got pg but I have lost weight from my arms and legs especially. I am so confused about all this now. I certainly don't objust to being induced early but I would like to know what is going on!

NJ - oh no, not more pram probs! Haven't seen the other thread yet but sending you hugs!

Hi to Youngmum21 - when are you due?

Eeyore - did you have a fun weekend?

Hope all ok,

Morning girls
Well luckily the pain has gone today but has instead been replaced with a feeling of utter grottiness (spelling??). I actually had more sleep than usual last night but this morning i cant breathe properly, im aching all over and am very shaky and feel really weak. So sorry for all the moaning . Just looked at a thread i started about people giving up work at how many weeks and everyone is staying much later than me buti am totally wrecked now and still got 4 weeks left i really dont know what to do (also have no holiday left to take) I cant be nice to anyone at work today cos i feel so rough!!
Anyway hope your all having a better day. xx

NatalieJane · 04/09/2006 10:20

Morning everyone, sounds like most had painful weekends, hope things start getting better this week for you all.

The pushchair thing is going OK, I am really trying not to get anywhere near as stressed with it as I was last week! Not sure it is working but I am trying!! The one I want (the Quinny Buzz) actually sounds like it should be taken off the shelves, I have now read so many bad and bloody dangerous things about it I can't believe it is allowed to be sold TBH!! so that is obviously out of the window, we had a bit of a back up plan with the Quinny Speedi, but then we saw it in the flesh yesterday, and not only is it really long, but the seat unit doesn't come off the frame in one go, it is all clipped and velcro'ed(sp?!!) on, and the car seat can't just sit on the seat unit it has to fit on the frame so it would be a PITA to change over all the time. We have looked at the Silver Cross 3D, S4, and Linear Sleepover, they are all nice pushchairs (the Sleepover being a bit heavy) but I don't see how they offer much more than a good old Graco jobbie! The Jane ones have the same problem as the Speedi, the seat unit doesn't just clip off the frame, and the Mamas and Papas pramette thing doesn't seem any different to the 3D to me! We have looked at the Mutsy 4rider and that is lovely but is not only HUGE but weighs more than me!! The only one left was the Bugaboo, which I just can not stand the look of, with the carrycot on it is fine but once the baby is in the seat unit I just think it is the ugliest thing to ever come out of Mothercare!!

So we are now looking at Graco's, Chicco's, etc. we figure if we can't get the perfect pram for us we might aswell save a few hundred pounds and go for one of them instead! Toys 'R' Us have the Chicco CT02 (or something like that!) which is quite nice, and I like the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe system, but the pushchair is really heavy again with that. Also quite like the quirkiness of the Graco Mosaic, but not keen on the colour of it at Toys 'R' Us, but have seen it in different materials elsewhere.

Sorry for going on about it again! I'm not stressed about it though - honest!!

BTW the nursery is now plastered, we will paint it next weekend (when the plaster has dried out) then DH can put the new skirting boards/door frame in, and fit the carpet hopefully the weekend after, then I should be able to get the furniture up stairs and out of my dinning room!! So by the end of this month we should be living a bit more normally!!

Has anyone else worked out that all of our babies are due the month after next - how scary does that sound?! DH was like 'ah, it doesn't matter, we survived it last time!' I'm like 'ARGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'!!!

I really am off now! Got buggy hunting on the brain again!! TC everyone xxx

NatalieJane · 04/09/2006 10:21

Wow sorry for the long post, it didn't look that long on the preview! Lebe hope your day turns around hun xxx

HopingCat · 04/09/2006 10:36

Hi everyone. It's taking me a really long time to catch up with a weeks worth of chat on here. Thought I was doing ok, then realised there are 2 threads to read! There are a lot of discussions I could join in on but as most of them are from last week you'll all have moved on by now! On the subject of mat leave, I'm finishing in 6 weeks time but am using annual leave to work 4 day weeks. Hopefully having Wednesdays off will mean I'm less tired by end of the week.

Happy news from here - one of my friends has had her baby! Born on Aug 25th, named Rueben Thomas. He's her first baby, and he weighed in at 10lb 15oz!!! This scares me! The midwife had estimated 8lb 10oz. She was in labour about 24 hours and ended up with epidural and forceps but she and baby and doing fine. He is gorgeous, all wrinkly and curled up!

Delia · 04/09/2006 10:47

wow NJ don't over do it will you, you sound like your not going to stop for breath over the next couple of weeks! take care hun, look after yourself.

Lebe - sorry to hear you feel so bad today, tell them you feel like crap and that your going home early - even just an hour or 2 might help.

Welcome youngmum - there's quite a few of us first timers here as you can see we kind of muddle through it together - hope your pregnancy is going well you must be due right at the start of Nov too, is it starting to feel scarily really for you now? everyone keeps saying to me oh not long now then!

Delia · 04/09/2006 10:49

Morning HC - congrats to your friend 10lb 15oz, thats not scary thats terrifying!

staceym11 · 04/09/2006 10:51

Hi everyone!!!!

Sorry been gone so long, been spending some lovely peaceful time with my new dh!!!! hehe!

the wedding went great, was stressed the night before and my mum sent me to bed t midnight (we were doing the food and it wasnt all done yet!) coz i was crying, just stressed and hormonal.

other than crying every 10 minutes it was great. i will get a picture on as soon as i can but we havnt had them back from the photographer yet. have seen them tho and i dont look as huge as i felt!!!

had a really lovely day, dd was such a good pretty little girl, she was awake from 7am-12midnight and didnt really throw a single strop, except when she had enough of the photos!

baby is doing fine, he is so active i could never worry if hes alright!!! been having bad problems with heartburn recently but thats just coz im getting so much bigger. people are really surprised when i say im not due till nov, i look like im ready to pop!

i will just say sorry if iv missed anything important just cant catch up with over a weeks worth! welcome to anyone new (think there is a newmummy21 or smmit, welcome) i know how scary it is the first time especially being young (i was 17 when i had dd) we'r all lovely here! you'll be in good company!

LeBe · 04/09/2006 10:52

Hi Hopingcat, It yook me ages to catch up and id only been away 3 days!!! Congrats to your friend but 10lb15 OUCH!!! Was it her first baby? I thought being pg would make you less broody but now when i see babies im so jealous cos i want to have mine .

Thanks NJ - I really hope you sort out your pram probs, but im glad your not streesing anymore, if you were telling the truth?? I did have the same sort of dilema with wall stickers - heard aboutr them everywhere but couldnt find them but then up they popped in Toys 'r' us on the weekend. Also i dont know if you saw the message i posted you a while back about the Gracco pram i was getting but thought you might want a look you never know it could be what your looking for, it folds down really easily and is quite lightweight but it doesnt look it.

God i do feel bad for moaning as im sure people are having a harder time of it than me, but i feel awful but i dont want to go home again from work, has anyone else been getting gripping pains alot and needing the toilet (sorry tmi). Also im worried now cos ive got my head around the fact he is going to be early, mainly because my dates changed so much, i had symptoms too early and i am reading stuff about people 36 weeks and im going through the same, everyone is convinced even a lady in Asda nearly fainted when i said i was due in 2 months time, and i really dont think i should be suffering so much at work yet, but now if he does come on dd or after i will have got worked up for nothing.

Sorry again for being a misery!

LeBe · 04/09/2006 10:58

How rude am I? Welcome Youngmum. Im usually alot cheerier than this, honest .

Ive not been on hee very long but everyone is so lovely, you will get all the advice, help and cheering up you need. x

HopingCat · 04/09/2006 11:28

Hi Lebe

Yes the baby was her first. It scares me, but also it makes me think that if she can manage to push out a baby that big then surely I can face anything!

With having quite a few pg friends it has made me realise that every pregnancy is very different. I've not suffered too much yet and neither did my friend who has now had her baby, but I have 2 other friends who've suffered with different things and they are due on the same day. I would think that the problems you are having do not relate to how far along you are so don't worry too much about your symptoms matching other peoples, plus you may feel bad today but feel better later in the week. I feel better when the baby is in certain positions, or when he/she is moving less, or when I'm cool rather than hot. So hopefully your discomfort will be temporary rather than something you have to suffer until your edd. Is there no way you can work shorter weeks at work? My employer offered to reduce my hours if I wanted (but of course I'd get paid less so I decided against it).

MeAndMyBoy · 04/09/2006 11:43

Morning everyone - welcome youngmum21 - I'm due 3rd Nov - are you due around about then too? this is my 2nd though already have a DS who is 3.

Can I have a moan too please - DH has gone to Norway today until Thursday and I'm feeling really wobbly about it. Was fine about it all until he actually left - just anxious I'll go into early labour or something stupid and he won't be here. Ho hum.

Hope everyone with aches and pains feels better as the day goes on - LeBe - see how you feel at lunch time and maybe then go home hun?

Stacey - welcome back married lady lol at DH for the first time. Sounds like you had a cracking day and I bet you looked gorgeous, looking forward to the pic.

HopingCat yep agree 10lbs 15 is terrifying - I'm really not going to think about how much that must have taken. Congrats to your friend with her new little chap though. I can't believe how broody I get now - I just want my LO to cuddle when ever I see pics of little babies.

Right off to get dressed - DS is dressed it's just me being a slob - having said that negotiating advertsing deals when you are in your jama's is far more fun then being stuck at the office.

H x

LeBe · 04/09/2006 12:02

Just been reading up on iron deficency on the internet and every symptom is me to a tee at the moment, so im quite sure that is what it is but i rang the doctors and they cant give me my test results until 4pm!!! Ive heard that people feel lots better when they have supplements so im hoping that it is that and i will feel better soon. x

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 12:24

Welcome new comers!

Podglet - ditto about the size of the baby, my midwife said she can feel the baby is huge! Funny since DS was only 6lb!

Well heres a new one for you ladies, my skin on my stomach where it has been stretched to it's limit has actually started to split and bleed ouch! Im going to see if the chemist can give me anything if not i will have to go to the dr's i don;t know how im going to cope with 10 weeks more growth!

Im not seeing my m/w until the 20th of this month and my hemotologist on the 18th and its ds's and dp's birthday aswell as MIL and FIL's b/day so im busy busy busy!

Thanks for caring girlies, i'm feeling a bit better now ive had some lunch and stuff, but it does seem to me that everyone else i know is sailing through or did, and i feel like a bit of a failure or a wimp. Also i feel guilty about being fed up cos this is the best thing to ever happen to me i cant wait for my lo to arrive.
MAMB - I feel sorry for you having your partner go away but im sure it will fly past and you will be fine.

Stacy - glad you had a lovely day.

HopingCat - you are so right about every pg being different but that is why it annoys me when people give me horror stories or tell me what i should be doing cos it will probably be completly different for me, must admit i had enough and had a bit of a moan about family butting too much.

Charlee - Ouch that sounds painful, hope you get some stuff to ease it a bit (or alot!)

MyGirl - Isorry your only feeling a bit better hopefully they will kick in soon!

saralou100 · 04/09/2006 15:37

hi girls... i've started christmas shopping today, brought some lovely jewellry from a friend.. only trouble is i like it all and want to keep it for myself!! so whilst you lot organise yourselves for babies, i'll be sorting out christmas!!

lebe, have you spoken to your boss at all about how you feel at work... maybe you could bring forward your mat leave or discuss reducing hours until you do start? i did both these options, reduced my hours and brought leave forward by 2 weeks and it's changed my whole attitude to work, i'm much happpier again and feel better for the decision (plus i get to remind the girls ihave a mere 11 shifts left to work)... theirs just no point beating yourself up over it, or pushing yourself harder than you need to.. it's not a competition, so please don't compete!! hugs!!

hopingcat , your friend deserves a medal, what whopper!!

Oh dear i am well and truly fed up now. I totally convienced myself that i was anaemic and i would have some tablets and i would feel amazing (yeah right!!) But i just rang for the results and they said it was normal and so i dont know what to think. By the way id like to clarify that i dont want to be anaemic - anyone who has got it prob thinks im mad - but if it was that atleast id know, now i am worrying what if something more serious is wrong .

Saralou - i hvae spoke to my boos but he isnt too sympathetic and he will just tell me to take my mat leave early but i cant afford to really same goes for doing less hours not that he would let me anyway!!!

Xmas Shopping - omg how organised are you two?? Table runners!!!! I havent once thought about xmas - oh dear

Charleesunnysunsun · 04/09/2006 16:37

MGLP - Feel free to ask all the questions you like!
I see a hemotologist becuase i have very thick blood and when pregnant it get's thicker and i am higly suseptable to blood clots on the lungs. I had one with DS which put me in hospital for nearly the whole 9 months so this time they planned ahead, i have to inject myself everyday with something called Clexaine which is a form of Heparin.

I got some Almond oil which is supposed to help the skin stretch easier so im going to try that.

LeBe · 04/09/2006 17:25

Im off home now so, hope everyone has a good evening and i will try and get more sleep and be cheerier tomorrow! .

Hummm jacket potatoes for tea yum yum xx
