Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

HM - iv so far had 2 contarctions, as i can remember them from dd's labour, but they happened a day apart and havnt happened since, so i think im safe so far. can be quite worrying tho!!

hope you feel better after your illness, im sure little one is much better than you are (they'll just eat up all your nutrients!!)

Charleesunnysunsun · 21/09/2006 14:02

Hi, thought i would pop in and update and say hello.

I have been up all night ds has an almighty cold so was up grizzling all night.

I'm in two minds about wether to be induced or not there is pro's and cons not sure which to go for.

If i AM induced i will get the deffo date and i know i wont be on medication which could cause complications and it gives me more chance of having an epidural.

But......

I would have to be at the hospital at 6pm so dp would have to be minding ds so i would be on my own untill anything deffinate kicked in they didn't even give me the pessary untill 9pm last time.

I am still having bad Braxton Hicks but i keep telling myself that it's preparing me for hopefully a quicker labour.

Sex here is also a very rare thing much to dp's dissapointment but it's just so uncomfortable and i'm just knackered at night time i also suprisingly don;t feel my sexiest whilst looking like a bowling ball!

LeBe · 21/09/2006 14:03

HM - sorry to hear you havent been very well hope you had a nice break after that tho, oh and please all put bets on me being first (due 6th) as im so impatient!!!

Saralou - I hope we get doughnuts aswell, i tell you what its a good thing all this food we have had lately is not real or i would be enormous!

Im a bit worried now, felt fine this morning, went home for lunch and had really loud popping noises in my stomach which i think was wind then i thought i was going to be sick and my head started thumping and i had to lay down ive come back now and been told to go home but feel bit better now, its horrible when its not just you in your body cos its hard to know when to worry or not isnt it? x

Debz99 · 21/09/2006 14:20

Lebe I'm due on 5th so by rights it should be me ... sorry LOL I'm also desparate for it all to be over with now !!!

Dp met me for lunch today and gave me a kiss goodbye when he walked me back to the office, he made grumblings about being horny and wanting some .... not a chance LOL !

staceym11 · 21/09/2006 14:23

oh lebe, hope you feel better soon.

it is horrible when it isnt just you, i had problems with feeling dizzy and have since decided not to ignor the dizzy feeling any more as i did and fainted hitting my head on a cupboard handle. thankfully dd was in bed but i dread to think what could have happened to poor lo in my tummy!

staceym11 · 21/09/2006 14:24

im not due till 13th btw but my bets are on me being first, plllleeeeeaaaassseee!!!!!!!!

Debz99 · 21/09/2006 14:26

Oh DP and Me went on a jolly to TEsco last night and bought half price breast pads (Tommy Tippee ones) for £2.49 for 50 some maternity pads, energy tablets and lip balm !

LeBe · 21/09/2006 14:31

Debz - you might be first by rights but please let me go first? You will be my best friend forever if you do, seeing as your due on the 5th have you had the same things said to you about calling the baby Guy? How annoying
Plus my original date was 17th October and then the 30th October (i hope he doesnt come on halloween)and then it went to the 6th, but all docs and mw say how big he is so im hoping they got it wrong (fingers crossed).Ah i feel so grateful to my dp he hasnt once mentioned the lack of sex and when i bring it up and tell him i feel bad he says he doesnt care as long as he has me and babba - bless him

Stacey - thankyou am feeling better now, it just worries me cos if it was just me i wouldnt be bothered but they say you cant be too careful with the lo but then you dont want to be a total freak going on about every little thing, oh dear imagine how we will be when they are here i might take up residence in the doctors! x

NatalieJane · 21/09/2006 14:36

You lot should count yourselves bloody lucky!! I'm not due till the 25th (actually the 29th by one midwifes dates but the least said about the better!! ) So, here I am already quite ready for it, but I will have to sit through listening to all of you cooing over your LO's while I will still be begging for mine to come out!

I am of course only joking, and I am almost as excited about our first baby on the thread as I am about my own, but still, I am just as likely to still be pregnant in DECEMBER !!!

Debz99 · 21/09/2006 14:38

Maybe I was being a little harsh when I said he was grumbling LOL his words after giving me a kiss were, oh I'm horny now !

LeBe · 21/09/2006 14:41

Ah sorry NJ didnt mean to rub it in. I felt like that at the begining of the pg everyone was further gone than me, but now im the massive one giving tips to people 10weeks gone!
Also ah to Debz dp could you imagine if all our partners/husbands all came on here for a chat, imagine what they would say about us!!
Ive just been on the childbirth thread, it was scary so ive come back here to my safe haven xx

Debz99 · 21/09/2006 14:42

NJ when I first discovered I was PG MY dates said 15th November however when I went for my dating scan they said 5th ... not sure how I conceived when they say as DP lived up North then and we were not together around the time they say!!!

Lebe - I have had all the comments about calling LO Guy and it's really not funny anymore I have only heard it about 15000 times !!! You can have LO first if it makes you happy but let me just say I will be on the ward the same day as you !!! LOL

LeBe · 21/09/2006 14:49

Debz - you just gave me a really good idea, we can all have los on the same day then everyone is happy

Changing the subject slightly is anyone trying raspberry leaf tea? and does anyone know if it works? x

NatalieJane · 21/09/2006 14:50

I find it quite funny with the sex thing, with DS I couldn't get enough, I was literally pouncing on DH as soon as he got home from work, he loved it at first, but soon got very tired, and he actually went off sex for a bit after! This time, I am a complete no go zone and all he wants to do is rip my clothes off, he says I am ooooozing with sex appeal - I say if he comes near me for anything more than a kiss and a cuddle, I can't be sure I won't permanantly damage him

NatalieJane · 21/09/2006 14:52

I don't think I should be thinking of RLT just yet, 30+5 is a little too early (even if part of me want's it over with already!) I might give it till 36 weeks

LeBe · 21/09/2006 15:02

Im not sure at what stage you can start taking them, im 34weeks on mon is that too soon?

FoghornLeghorn · 21/09/2006 15:03

I've heard you can start taking RLT between 32-34 weeks - I am getting some at the weekend.

BIL's gf has just been at the doctors with severe stomach cramps, he's just got a call from her saying he's got to take her straight to the hospital. Hope everything is OK, she is 35 weeks on Saturday.

There is obviously some conflicting advice then, I would ask midwife

HopingCat · 21/09/2006 15:07

I thought you weren't supposed to drink raspberry leaf tea until 36 weeks? I think it warns you on the packet anyway so it's better to check it. I'm planning to do all I can to encourage baby out - pineapple, curry, tea and sex (I can't say it is a regular occurence at the moment but it is still happening!)

Just been to see my friend and her baby. He is lovely, and so small! When I was holding him I felt like I could forget he was there and drop him so easily! They are going home today, so have only been in hospital 3 days. V good for a section I think.

FoghornLeghorn · 21/09/2006 15:09

Aw how cute Hc

the only thing I didn't try last time was the RLT, I tried everything else in abundance but DD was still a week late.

saralou100 · 21/09/2006 15:10

nj, i'm with you, due the day before you... no chance we'll be the 1st out! but we can keep each other company in december, i'm sure i'll still be here too!! thats over 2 months away.. this pg is never going to end!!

Debz99 · 21/09/2006 15:10

Been getting some strange pains this afternoon on the right hand side of my bump, not extremely painful but makes me wince feels like the pain is travelling vertically ? Any ideas? Also RLT what does this do?

LeBe · 21/09/2006 15:11

FHLH - Oh no i hope she is ok, and good idea i will ask mw next week.

Mygirl - dont say that you are shattering my illusions that this baby is goona be earl and only take 3 mins to come out with no pain, oh one can dream!

Hopingcat - your dp is very lucky compared to all ours by the sounds of us lot on here, were you really jealous when you saw your friends lo i am every time i see someone with a little babba

NatalieJane · 21/09/2006 15:14

I don't know what the 'offical' advise is re. RLT, but I know I would be worried about encouraging a baby to come before 36 weeks, unless the was a medical need for it.

HC, it is quite funny with a newborn, I don't know about any one else, but I find that someone elses baby always feels as light as a feather, but, when it is your own baby, and you have been holding him/her for a few hours, they do soon get heavy! Even sitting down holding them, arms still ache after a while!
