Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Ladies, All this sex talk is really making me laugh. I have great dreams but when I'm awake there is no chance, my energy and drive levels are so low. I'm glad it's not just me!

Speaking of LO's getting in position mine is currently transverse & the madwife thinks it may be stuck as my stomach area is now so hard (don't think she means in a toned muscle way unfortunately!) so I may have to go for a section which would be at 38 weeks, I'm almost 33 weeks - is there still time for it to move does anyone know? Have been doing the exercises but with no success

Afternoon

I have seen my midwife today, she has decided the baby's size is fine so i shouldn't need a c-section but after reading my complicated care plan from the hemotologist she thinks it would be wise for an induction so i can stop all my med's and have pain killers as normal women would so she rang my ob whilst i was there and told him she thought it would be easier and im seeing him 27th oct at 36 weeks to talk about it.

Still loads of Braxton Hicks getting quite painfull my stomach goes so hard i think it's going to burst poor baby must be getting squashed to bits!

dp thinks i'm having an affair with you guys!! lol!! the funny thing with sex, i was rampant when pg with ds up until i gave birth.. dp would come creeping in the house so i wouldn't jump him immediately! now he would give anything for me to be like that again! apparently lots of sex is better than none (obviously)

the advantages of dp at home, i've just had a 3hr nap - heaven!!!

lebe, it was a bit like that here too, me and dp (now dh) had only been together 2days when i fell with dd (at age 17 none the less, he was 19) so all he knew was this horrible hormonal woman and a sudden need to be responsible, glad to say we'r still together and now married so it does work (no matter what MIL said at the time !)

Good Morning Ladies!

At night my stomach goes so hard it becomes really uncomfortable and the area under my left rib is killing me, but generally only at night anyone else getting this, if so, for you more experienced ladies, what is it?

Also having trouble getting out the drivers side of the car just don't seem to have the room or the strength to lever myself out the seat, it's getting embarrassing !

Debz sounds like BH to me. The rib pain will be the babies legs/bum pushing up into the area behind your ribs, as the babies head comes lower down into the pelvis over the next few weeks the rib pain will subside, the BH are likely to stay with you now till the end, but try to think of them getting your body ready for the big push, and as uncomfortable as they are, have a good look at and feel around of your belly, I don't know about anyone else but it fasinates me! It feels as if you can feel the outline of the baby

Well, I've finally got the gloss finished in the nursery - 5 coats it's had, next time we put new skirting boards in any where I will take the time to prepare the wood a bit better, it was just drinking in the gloss! I was worried it wouldn't have time to dry properly before DH puts the carpet in at the weekend, and so it would have put us back a week - which we really don't have time for. We have 9 weekends left before the due date, two of those DH is on call at work, one will be spent down south at my mums, and another down south at my sisters, this weekend is taken up by fitting the carpet and getting the furniture in the room, we have another weekend to put aside for cleaning all the carpets in the house (BIL has a proper big carpet cleaner thing, house is full of plaster dust and rubble from the nursery so it needs doing ideally before the baby comes!) and we need to some how fit in finishing off the decorating in the hall, and painting the kitchen, and time to go and decide 100% on a buggy and go and get it, and the other little things we still need to get! I think we might be ready for the baby to come in about January at this rate! Oh and of course, Christmas shopping, would really like to have it all sorted by the time the baby comes... yeah right!! LOL

Speaking of going down south though, quick question girls, would you travel over 200 miles to stay for two nights in the last four weeks? Due to DH being on call and my mother deciding to book a late holiday we can either go the weekend after next (which would eat into our plans a bit) or when she get's back from holiday, when I will be 36+ weeks gone. Tempting fate too much?

Thanks NJ I just thought BH would be painful rather than just an uncomfortable feeling ... ooooh I've had some BH !!!

I have the same dilemma but going in the opposite direction, DP wants to go up and see his parents in the North West before LO is born, I'm not adverse to the idea but hate the thought of going into labour in a strange town where I don't know the midwives !!!!!!

Well what a difference a bit of sleep and no pain can make, feeling so much better. Went out for a lovely meal last night didnt really want to go at the time but it was really nice apart from the fact the chairs were really uncomfy and i got really bad siatica (sp?) and when i got up i nearly fell over! But bless my lo he must of realised he was hurting me cos he has stopped hurting my ribs and back - ohh wonder if that means he has dropped down?
Debz - the hurting in the ribs is probably the babys feet or other body part pushing as s/he has run out of room, i was advised to put something cold on the area because the baby moves away from the cold.
Stacey - thanks for putting that its nice to know other people have survived this, im 23 and dp is 27 so we are a bit older than you were probably no more wiser tho!
Sara - 3hr nap, what would i give to be you!!!

I have had the odd few that I would describe as painfull, but most of the time just uncomfortable is enough. And compared to the real thing, they are nothing!!

I'm actually not that worried about going into labour down there, I don't know our midwives up here, (have only seen them twice throughout my whole pregnancy, and the likelyhood of one of the two I have seen being at the delivery is fairly small in reality), and in fact in a wierd kind of way, it would actually be a weight off my mind if I did go into labour down there, my mum could have DS and I wouldn't be worried about him at all, whereas up here I will be, but it is the thought of not being able to come straight home with the baby that put's me off, and DH had a bit of a wobbler thinking about it all kicking off down there!

This solid mass I now know as BH lasted for about 3 hours with no let up, tummy was completely hard from about 8pm to 11 ish is this normal ??? there was no interval with feeling ok !

As we only have a fiesta it is quite low down and It's causing me real problems now !

Hi Debz, i get the same thing with the solid mass for hours on end, i assumed that lo was pushing its foot or bum or something at the wall trying to get out in the wrong place! the weird thing is its always on the right side and height wise just above my belly button. Do you find it hurts more when you have to move or go for a wee?

It's just above my belly button too, it's just bloody uncomfortable what ever I do, sit down, stand up, walk around LOL ! I was laying in bed last night prodding this solid mass and could really feel LO moving around under my fingers he certainly didn't like it !!!

dh asked me last night if lo every stop's moving! everytime he comes and touches my stomach it starts wriggling around uncontrollably, i think either it really likes its daddy or its trying to get away as fast as possible

Right well im really confused with all these different movements and BH and things. I was sure i was getting bh's before as the whole of my right side went hard and then relaxed, but now i havent had that for ages and i now get very uncomfortable movements and tightness but when i feel it is definately some body pat being pushed out but it is always near where te midwife said his bum was so surely it wouldnt be a foot or hand there??

Oh and Delai i totally know what you mean, the lo could be lyng perfectly still but if i or dp puts his hand there he goes mad but then if he is wriggling around i get other people to try and feel it and he stops totally. Its funny how they know whos hand it is - ive not been able to trick him yet.

their all getting on my nerves!! make it stop!! deep breaths 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and relax!! i can't do a thing with ds when dp is around!! i want him to go to work now!! and he is so messy, he never clears up after himself, changes ds bum and leaves the mat out, the wipes out and half the time the dirty nappy is left lying around!! i'm sending them out this afternoon for sure!!!

i'm being jinxed with electronic equipment at the moment aswell... we have a virus on the computer, which i think i've managed to do away with but dp interfered when i was running a scan and started playing a game, so now i have to do the whole bloody thing again!!! and now my camcorder has decided to play up, it worked 2 days ago now just keeps saying disc error, i'v put in new ones and it won't bloody work.. we've only had it 2 months!!!

i agree make some rules now sara, i dont think i could manage dh with us all the time, they tend to interfere a bit! lol

well been feeling a bit better this morning, i laid on the sofa while me and dd played play dough this morning for about 3 hrs so we had quite good interaction, even if i cant get her out the house. shes gunna have some reliefe tonight when we go to tesco as itl be a change of scene (and for soem reason she seems to like tesco!!!) but then again we did go there on the way home from the hospital to get milk powder as i wanted to bf but dd really didnt! lol!

well as for all your bh i hope the get a bit better (but i know they wont) but however uncomfortable and annoying they are they do prepare you a little bit so they are a good thing.

as for traveling im making the trip up to yorkshire in the next few weeks (from surrey) to see my nan before the baby is born im not that bothered about where i give birth as i dont know any of the midwives around here anyway, its always a different one each time i go to an appointment. but i dotn really wanna have the baby up there as dh will still be down here (hes working weekends from now on as well) so that'l be horrible, but id have my mum, oh i dont know, i doubt id go into labour anyway, and even if i did i know id make it back in time if i realised straight away! lol (sorry having visions of giving birth on the side of the M1 now! lol

oh and had a letter from sure start saying i wasnt entitled to the grant as i havnt included the form signed by the midwife, er....yes i did, so i phoned and now they have to send me a new form to get filled out....again....and then send it back so i can get the grant! stupid bloody people! arrrggghhh its so infuriating that they cant get a simple thing right!!!!

Hi ladies-been away for a while, had gastroenteritis for a week in early Sept which wasnt nice - I didnt eat for 4 days and lost 8lbs in weight. Nasty when you are trying to nourish a growing baby! Then went away to Cornwall for a week with DH and the DTs and had a lovely time staying in a fabulously child friendly cottage complex with animal feeding/toys/everything you could ask for!

Have been reading peoples comments about Braxton Hicks - I have been having some nightmarishly painful ones which made me think have I forgotten what labour was like last time? Last night I really thought I was going into premature labour (will be 31 weeks tomorrow) and was petrified. The only position I could get in where I was comfortable was on all fours on the floor - not very dignified!!!

Some mummies on here must be fairly close if you are due in early Nov....are we going to lay bets on when the first baby arrives???
