Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

OP posts:

i've just watched las veagas on sky one 'cause i reallly fancy the guy in it! otherwise day time tele sucks!!!! i'm hoping that they will induce for reasons of childcare but it's the nhs... if we were paying they would (saw it on portland babies the other day) apparently inducing is easier the second timeb 0 n0.m

,

saralou100 · 13/09/2006 11:16

sorry... ds helped with that one

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 11:27

LOL Bless him

It has got to be worth asking the midwife about induction, it would make it so much more easier to sort it all out in advance.

saralou100 · 13/09/2006 11:35

thats what i think... don't ask don't get!!

LeBe · 13/09/2006 11:51

NJ - Thanks, im so glad the mw was ok about everything, i still worry everytime i go!

Delia - Im definatly up for some jelly and icecream (what flavour is it?) If your stuck at home bored and need some money why dont you look on the internet for those work from home things where you make things or write envelopes etc. Its not much money but its better than nothing. Im jealous that you are sat at home anyway, i would quite happily swap, you can come and sit in my stinking office and i will go home.

Also i know its not as important as children, but ive only just realised that ive got no one to look after my cats. My dp doesnt drive so he cant go home to see to them and i can just imagine thwm being outside in the cold, hungry and shivering! x

saralou100 · 13/09/2006 12:27

i have someone too walk and feed my dog, he was the easy part!!

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 12:40

Fit a cat flap and put a great big bowl of food and another great big bowl of water and the cats will be fine Lebe. I hadn't even thought about our cat TBH, but that is now our plan!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 13/09/2006 13:00

Happy Birthday Delia!

I am feeling wierd today, not ill as such just very odd. I had an hour of trickling water in town, i really don't think it was wee as i had only just been but it's stopped now just left with braxton hicks. My midwife has totally dissapered, i will leave it untill this afternoon i think then call the maternity ward if i'm still not feeling right. I refuse point blank to have another september baby i have to much to do this month!

My sister booked her wedding today so that's really nice something to look forward to.

Delia · 13/09/2006 13:00

Jelly is raspberry with peaches in but being vertial (sp!) it can be whatever flavour you like (umm wonder what chocolate jelly would be like?). My 2 cats are already abandoning me anyway (think they are fed up of having me in the way!) we will just put an extra big bowl of food down and fill up the water feeder and they'll be fine - probably looking forward to having the sofa to themselves for a bit!

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:09

Charlee, just keep a track of the time incase it is your waters, they don't like to let you go too long - if it is your waters! Don't know if I would be excited/scared/relieved/happy if I was in your position right now! Good luck whatever happens, and let us know when you can how you are going on!

Chocolate jelly? It sounds quite tempting actually! Our cat comes for a bit of a snuggle but only on my lap, she won't touch my belly at all! She has always been a nice cat but she would always go DH before me before I was PG, now she always comes to me before DH! I don't think the baby will bother her much when he arrives, she is quite easy going really.

Delia · 13/09/2006 13:20

Charlee am thinking of you, hopefully its just one of those things that happens for no reason. Congrats to your sister.

NJ we've had sun all day so far although it is a little overcast think that might be where the cats are - out enjoying the weather, usually i can't move for them trying to follow me round the house!

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:23

Sorry just checked the stats, for some reason I thought you were due early Nov. Charlee. TBH, and I don't want to scare you, but if you really do think you might be about to go into labour, I would go to the hospital now, they might be able to give you something to stop the contractions. What are you 30+ weeks? That seems a little too early, sorry, I really don't want to worry you.

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:24

We have had wind all day, and some rain, some sun, bit of a mixed bag really. It isn't warm out there though, not freezing either, but you need a coat on.

podglet · 13/09/2006 13:44

Happy Birthday Delia - please may I have some Jelly & Ice cream - I'm bored with cakes Hope you have a lovely day - hugs

Charlee - ring the labour ward (should be 24 hours) and see what they say - I would think you need to be looked at quickly - hoping all ok hun

NJ - would you like my ironing pile to keep you amused for a while? Honestly, it would be no trouble to get it to you!

Manic day at office - only 2 weeks to go and then I start my 4 day weeks until I leave - Hurrah !

saralou100 · 13/09/2006 13:48

charlee, please go to mat unit or ring someone!! even if it's just to put our minds at rest! and slow down!!

LeBe · 13/09/2006 13:48

Chocolate jelly! Now thats an idea.

Charlee - hope you feel better soon and like the others say it is just one of those things.

We arent allowed to fit a catflap because we are renting so, i think it will be mums duty when she comes up, she lives about 40 minutes away.I just went home for lunch and fell asleep! Not good, luckily my boss was out cos im back 15mins late, have been feeling very light headed lately its not a nice feeling.

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:50

LOL No thanks Podglet. I actually found our iron under the sink a few weeks ago, first time I'd seen it for a few years, in fact probably since we had the kitchen put in nearly 3 years ago!! LOL I erm... put it in the bin!!

LeBe · 13/09/2006 13:53

Well i only just brought an iron and ironing board, being saying i was going to get one for about 3 years, i then used the excuse that the wardrobes hadnt arrived so there was no point and now using the excuse that im too tired (when really im too lazy!) What is the point of ironing?? - the creases fall out when you wear the clothes anyway and get creased if you sit down!

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 13:59

Exactly Lebe, I'm hearing you!! I would iron shirts if either DH or DS needed them, but they both wear polo shirts to work/school, so figured I don't need the iron.

I find nothing more irratating than my mum or sister moaning on about ironing bed sheets or socks, or even towels, for goodness sakes!!

I will add I am a very clean and tidy person and own a very clean and tidy home (well it is most of the time!) but I just don't see the need for ironing!

Charleesunnysunsun · 13/09/2006 14:12

Thanks for all your posts. I haven't had any more signs of leaking so must just be extra discharge (tmi sorry!)

Don't worry i'm sure i'm not going to go into labour, im 30 weeks and have had no reason to go into early labour. But i am sensible and any slight signs i will go strieght in to the local maternaty ward for a check up. I promise.

DP will be home in a minute so i'm going to leave ds with him for an hour or 2 while i have a rest and see if i feel better. Im not having BH's any more just a bit of pain in my back/hips and 'down below' think probably just ligiments, like i said before to one of you i had this loads with ds. I will post later to tell you all how i'm feeling.

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 14:20

Glad it has worn off now Charlee, just be careful!

LeBe · 13/09/2006 14:35

Charlee - im glad you are ok and make sure you have a good rest!

NJ - i too am very tidy and really quite enjoy other things like washing and hoovering but i cant stand ironing, someone i know used to iron socks and pants etc. I think its insane, i also knew someone who used to pay someone about £60 a week just to iron her clothes - im sorry but i can think of much better things to spend that on.

Warning!!! About to rant!!
I brought one of those swinging chairs from Toy 'r' us, you know the battery operated ones that have different speeds and music etc. I always wanted one it was my one big indulgance cos i heard they were a godsend, so i was doubly happy when they were all in the sale and i got one for £60 that should have been £100 it had a smart sensor for when baby cries and all other added extras. It hasa been at MIL's for last 3 months but put it toghether on the weekend and tried it last night after getting the right batteries to find that the motor was making a dreadful noise. Ive just rang Fisherprice about it and they said it is definately something wrong so i had to take it back to the shop. Fair enough you might think but firstly she then kindly informed me they dont make that one anymore!! and secondly because they are no longer in the sale i have to get a cheap crappy one or pay an extra £40 to get a similar one. !!! Sorry, feel better now tho

NatalieJane · 13/09/2006 14:52

Only got literally a few seconds, but Lebe, get a full refund and look online, try kiddicare.com (they have free P&P) or even eBay, there are lots of eBay shops that sell them, especially if you are after the exact one, because most discontinued lines are still available on there, brand new in boxes with full warentee, just make sure that it is all UK spec stock before you buy, it is quite scary how low some of the safety regs are in some countries.

saralou100 · 13/09/2006 14:59

lebe, your a sick lady... enjoy, washing and hoovering are words that should not be put in the same sentence! but i do believe you've met my mum... she irons everything... i mean everything!!! even knickers!! i have clothes that still have the creases ironed in them after years of her persistently doing it.. and i don't iron anything... and i haven't lived anywhere near her for 4 years (i must update my wardrobe thinking about it) not good about your swing thing, very disappointing!! i bought a carpet shampooer months ago, recently decided to put the thing together and use it only to discover that their were no bolt things included.. have been phoning vax weekly now requesting these bolts, which they keep saying they will send it today only it never arrives.. must phonethem again actually... but the moral of the story, put things together straight away so you can return them a whole lot easier and save disappointment!!

glad your feeling ok charlee, but please slow down!! mother nature is trying to tell you this too perhaps??
