Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

NJ - Thanks for the advice i will check on there.

Sara - ok maybe i went a bit overboard saying i actually enjoyed doing it, i mean given the option i wouldnt but i dont mind doing it, and i wouldnt not do it, but ironing is just a useless waste of time. Oh dear i think my lo is going to look like a street urchin in his crumpled clothes. I would have put the swing together straight away but i didnt have any room until we moved and sorted out his room. I think poor lo is feeling the after effects of my rage as he is squirming around a kicking seven bells out of me..bless! x

podglet · 13/09/2006 16:03

Lebe - they might be obliged to give you a reoplacement for the price you paid as there is a fault with it. All goods (even clothes & shoes) come with a 12 month guarantee so although they might argue, they are legally obliged to replace it without further charge. I am pretty sure I am right about this but it is def worth a go.

Charlee - glad things have settled down. Look after yourself

mummyhill · 13/09/2006 16:43

Delia - Happy Birthday sweetheart. I have some bambino mios here for you and some nippas Just need to get you some wraps to gover the top. I have newborn and the next size up and I will show you how to fold and fasten them. If you are bored you could allways give me a ring and If I have the car you can look after you nephew whilst I get on with a few jobs. Can't pay you for it but it does mean I can get in the loft to drag the baby stuff out and sort it for you.

Evening all - time for my late night post again - before I go to bed (even though it's quite early for me tonight)
Happy birthday to those that I have missed, I have been sooo busy with ds I don't know where the time is going!
Sarahlou - the buggy is nothing special really, I just want one that can have a carrycot on it as well as the seat unit for ds. I have looked at the firstwheels city twin but it was far to big to fit into my car! I am going to phone the company abroad tomorrow to see what their policies are on returns
I too am going to have to join the non-ironing group dh does have to wear shirts for work but I must admit to ironing 1 shirt every evening, so he has one for work - that is the extent of my ironing.
Well - I am too tired to think of anything else I had to say so goodnight everyone and hope to catch up properly soon

Charleesunnysunsun · 14/09/2006 08:39

Morning all

I'm feeling better today, i spoke to the midwife last night she said that it was fine to stay in and rest if all had settled down and to contact her if anything starts again.

I am going party shopping for ds's birthday tea tomorrow getting some food and baloons. dp finally got round to telling his work about the baby and requesting time off when the time comes took his time but he got there in the end!

Lol about ironing i can honestly say the whole 5 yrs i have lived with dp i have irones about 3 times!
I am vigulante about washing and cleaning though im a neat freak i hate clutter and dirt! especially in the kitchen and bathroom. it drives dp mad!

Hope you all have a good day

NatalieJane · 14/09/2006 09:16

Morning girls

Yet another day of doing nothing ahead of me! It is absolutely tipping it down this morning, DS's school is literally only across the road and we were both still soaked.

I had to take him for his pre-school boosters yesterday, he also had the MMR for the first time (we didn't want him to have it when it was due, but have since changed our minds) so he is feeling very sorry for himself, when he remembers!! Must admit there was a tiny bit of me that was scared to go in and wake him up this morning in case something had happened overnight, so silly really, but I suppose this is what all of the scaremongering has led to.

Can't remember if I mentioned yesterday, but in a bid to stay away from daytime telly, I am re-discovering some of my old CD's, I put Eminem on, haven't listened to it very much because of the language and DS, but I think I am potentially ruining the baby already, he won't stop wriggling when it is on, I was showing DH last night after DS had gone to bed and he couldn't believe it, literally as soon as I press play the baby goes mad, and as soon as I turn it off he stops moving! LOL

Right I am off to sort out my hospital bag, I know I have ages yet, but it will give me something to do!

Catch you all later xxx

LeBe · 14/09/2006 09:26

Morning all.

NJ - As i have said before, please feel free to come and help me with some chores or office work if you get too bored! Also you might be right about Eminem but he is on all the time in my house so i think my lo is going to come out swearing, He also loves R&B i think he is going to be a right little mover and shaker he goes mad when 'thong song' comes on!I always remember my nephew wouldnt go to sleep unless there was music banging because he had to listen to it the whole time he was in SIL tummy.
Just got into work and feel ready for bed already, i can feel my eyes closing oh well only another 9 hours to go x

HopingCat · 14/09/2006 09:26

Hi everyone.

We went for our tour of the hospital and delivery suite yesterday. It was very odd, for some reason it made me realise that I really am having a baby! Worst thing was that there was a woman in the delivery room next door to us screaming her head off. It was hard to listen to the midwife telling us everything we needed to know when there were such horrifying sound effects coming through the wall!
I think it was an eye opener for dh.

MeAndMyBoy · 14/09/2006 10:43

Morning,

Charlee glad everything has calmed down, and be careful today lifting heavy party food bags. (nag nag.

Delia happy birthday for yesterday hope you had a fab day.

NJ hope you get your swing chair fiasco sorted out - silly people, it wasn't fit to sell as it was faulty they should do a straight replacement and if that isn't available replace it with what is at no cost to you. I'd be fuming too. Let your pg hormones work for you.

Well I have 7 weeks to go today going far too quickly for my liking. Still have mountains to do before LO can come. Started to feel like I am 33 weeks pg now, getting a bit heavy and it's hard work walking any distance. Definately struggling to keep up with DS, just couldn't do anything with him yesterday I just wanted to sleep, poor chap wanted to run round the garden and play pirates.

LeBe · 14/09/2006 10:44

Hopingcat - I know exactly what you mean, i had my tour and antenatal classes 2 months ago! I think they were trying to fill up spaces or something but it really made me think 'oh this is really gonna happen'. I was also really jealous of the women in there holding their lo's i wished i was ready to drop then aswell. Luckily i had no screaming ladies to contend with but my since frequent trips to the delivery suite have given me that pleasure, dp always tries to make a joke of ot while i sit there motified!! x

kelsuprise · 14/09/2006 10:47

Hi Everyone
Thanks for all your welcomes.
I went to have a tour around the birthing centre where I hope to have baby- and it really settled my mind. I was getting REALLY nervous and having nightmares (literally) about labour and birthing, but now feel relaxed as the centre is really calm.
Although if baby is too early or too late, then will have to go to Brighton Hospital (not a fav of mine!)

Debz99 · 14/09/2006 11:42

Hello ladies

Been away for a few days and has taken me all morning to catch up on the posts ! Not been too well only a cold etc but it knocked me for six slept constantly for the last 2 days feeling much better today. Saw consultant on Monday and she want me to have another scan as she cannot feel the position of LO due to be being a bigger lady than some ! on my fundal height chart midwife measured me properly at 30 weeks and I measured 32 she said that was fine as I was a bigger lady anyway, however the consultant wrote ?? 30 ?? without even bothering to get tape measure out ! Miserable witch, now wondering if htere is something wrong or she really has no idea wht she is talking about !

HopingCat · 14/09/2006 11:47

Debz - are they giving you a scan soon then? At least that should set your mind at rest that LO is fine and a nice size. It is easy to worry about things like this. My mw measured fundal height 3 times on Tuesday, which concerned me but she said she'd forgotten it the first time and written it down wrong on my notes the second time so she did it a third time to check. I felt like she was trying to make my bump measure the right size, rather than writing down how big it actually is. Hope you are reassured soon.

Debz99 · 14/09/2006 11:51

Got to wait for an appointment to come through should be within next 2 weeks as she want to see me again on 25th and said if there is anything untoward on the scan she will see me before ! However saw her Monday and still no appointment yet, I only have next week !!!! LOL

Kaybee7777 · 14/09/2006 13:37

I don't have my antenatal classes until the last minute and am worried lo will decide to come before then and I'll have no idea what's going on! It's a bit worrying... I booked them through the NCT and they were the only ones available. Guess I should have tried to do hospital ones too I guess

Debz99 · 14/09/2006 14:11

Got my "parent craft" classes they start on Saturday only got 4 weeks of them, is this right?

podglet · 14/09/2006 15:20

Hi Debz,

My classes start tonight and they have only just hone up to 5 classes from 4 so yours sound about right. Am also seeing my midwife tonight for a 30 week check.

Suffering from terrible heartburn and indigestion today - feel really unwell

MAMB - hope you are feeling better - sending get well soon vibes to you

HopingCat · 14/09/2006 16:13

My parent craft classes start in October and I've got 4 classes. My last one is week 38 so I shouldn't miss any, but I was born 3 weeks early so you never know.

Kaybee - I wouldn't worry too much about LO being early. I know it happens, but apparently more than half of all babies are late, and first babies are more likely to be late. I went to have a look round the hospital this week, so even if LO is early I've got an idea where to go. Maybe you can ring your hospital and get yourself on a tour this month?

HopingCat · 14/09/2006 16:19

Another of my friends has had their baby! So now it's 2 down, 2 to go (including me). She gave birth to a little boy on Tuesday night. He was born within an hour of her arriving in hospital, weighing 6lb 13oz. It's her second child and she had a very long and quite difficult labour with her dd, so this labour was the complete opposite. I think they are thinking of calling him Isaac, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

My other friend was due last week so she will be induced Monday if nothing has happened. So far everyone has had boys, so I hope she has a girl. That way it won't matter if I have a girl or a boy, as they will always have a friend. She's having a sweep today. Does anyone know how good these are at setting labour off?

Debz99 · 14/09/2006 16:38

Thanks All,

Someone at work said oh yeah I had parent craft classes me and hubby went then I went to Ante-natal classes where hubby was not allowed to attend nothing like this has been mentioned to me, however her DD is 7 ! Things may have changed !!!!

Podglet - totally sympathise with heartburn, mentioned it to my consultant who said to try milk or natural yoghurt, I had heard of the milk thinking but not natural yoghurt, am gonna give it a go when I can get to a supermarket ! Am drinking gaviscon by the bucket load it works a little but not great and taste vile, also waiting for my chemist to order some rennie liquid which doc has put on script for me, however not sure this will work any better than the gaviscon.

Bethbe · 14/09/2006 16:54

Debz,

Sorry to hear about the heartburn problems. I REALLY suffered for most of my pregnancy and did a good deal of research. Apparantly changing brands can help as you can get used to one.

Also, - although 'officially' not used in pregnancy, 'renatidine' is often prescribed in labour and you can get it over the counter in the form of Zantac. My cousin (a midwife)asked an obstetrician what I should do since I was taking the max dose or rennie by lunch-time each day, and he suggested this. My midwife then confirmed that it was okay. In addition, - you can take it 'as well' as rennie/gaviscon although not at exactly the same time of day.

Badger your midwife about this, - I'm sure she/he'll agree!

Good luck......

Hi, im just posting on here to try and kkep my mind busy, i am in so much pain i'm literally crying.

I have pain running fron my left hip right to the tip of me toes, im not sure if it's spd or what but it's come on during the day and now i can't walk and it hurts so much.
I remeber getting it once for one night with ds and the dr gave me codomal which made me horribly sick so i'm not calling a dr out again! I think i will have to be reffered back to physio, i will have to ask my midwife next week when i see her.

Lol if im like this with leg pains god only knows what labour will be like!

amyjade · 14/09/2006 20:58

Hi Everyone
Just thought i'd pop in and say hello.
Everythings ok with me at the mo, had a 28 week scan on Monday where i'm sure i saw boys bits!!!
Don't want to get too excited as i was probably looking at the cord.
Baby weights 3lb 7oz already which is a good weight for 28 weeks, both Dd's were big 8lb13 and 8lb8 so this one looks to be the same.
I'm 29 weeks today but i'v only got 9 weeks left as i'm having an elective section at 38 weeks.
We have decided on Amelia Faith for a girl and Harrison, Henry or Fraser for a boy but still can't decide.

I haven't bought a thing for the baby yet apart from my new Phil and Teds pram which we are using already for Dd2 as i love it!

Sorry to hear some of your are suffering
Hope you all feel better soon, oh the joys of pregnancy!

Off the bed now as i took Dd2(15 months) to a soft play area and it's nearly killed me!

Take Care all x
