Morning Girls,

Thought I would start a new thread as someone suggested further down the last one.

Come and join.

Debbsy, how are things today ? Hope you are feeling better.
Tummy Button is starting to poke out a bit, sort of half in and half out, looks very odd.
We brought our buggy yesterday - we have gone for this one , being delivered a week Friday. Can't wait to get it home and have a push.

Not even thought about hospital bag yet. When I was pregnant with DD, I'm sure I already had it packed by now. We had one for labour and one for afterwards which worked quite well, think we will do the same this time.
Carseat - I had to stay in after having DD so DH brought the carseat up to the hospital the next day with him. I think we will put it in the car ready this time though as hoping to be in and out in a flash

Not asked HC but stuff I have read says LO only has to move 10 times a day and not to worry, as baby could be laying away from your tummy and kicking into "fresh air" IYKWIM.

Delia · 08/09/2006 09:58

morning all, HC i read in a book that baby moves less in the last couple of months for 2 reasons, 1 it has less room hence you feel every wriggle! and 2 becasue its getting it's energy up for when it finally shows itself to the world, apparently it takes as much out of them as it takes out of mum, but we get all the pain to go with.

Morning all
I missed out on alot of conversation yesterday, i didnt come into work so no internet access, this was because i was down the hospital late Wed night. I had funny sensations low down in my tummy as i left work but when id driven home i could hardly walk to the front door, so i had a bath and it eased off a bit but after it was back with a vengance! I knew it wasnt labour cos it was a constant pain but i rang the mw anyway who told me to go to hosp. I had some tests and a trace and they couldnt find anything wrong so they sent me home with painkillers, luckily it is ok today.

Anyway onto other matters my lo was so active all through the pg but now he kind of squirms where he has run out of room and the i find that an ice lolly is a dead cert to get him to move.

Hope everyone is having a good day and welcome to Kelsurprise

Charleesunnysunsun · 08/09/2006 10:46

Ok here's a slightly personal question!

Who is actually doing thier pelvic floor excersises? I mean i do them when someone mentions them or if i happen to think about it but i can't remember to do them as often as i probably should!
Am i alone in this?

LeBe · 08/09/2006 10:54

No you are not alone i done mine for about a week after i had been to physio and havent done any since - hadnt actually even thought about until you just mentioned it! opps

On the same sort of line - has anyone been eating total rubbish through their pg, i know i shoud be eating fruit veg etc. but chocolate is so much nicer!

Debz99 · 08/09/2006 11:11

I only do them when it gets mentioned !!!! After a few attempts I either get bored or distracted LOL ! Must remember to do more ......... and clench !

NatalieJane · 08/09/2006 11:15

Does anyone start the clench, count to 10, go to let go all the hard work, and find that actually they had already gone?? LOL

Debz99 · 08/09/2006 11:17

PMSL Yes LOL !

HopingCat · 08/09/2006 11:19

I find the only way to remember to do my exercises is by having a daily reminder flash up on my PC! I have to press either snooze or done to get rid of the message so I generally do at least one 10 second squeeze a day. It's a coded message by the way, so that if anyone else uses my PC they don't know what it means!

Thanks for your reassurance on LO movement. It probably is just that there isn't room to kick about anymore. I do feel things sticking out sometimes as if baby is stretching or trying to move.

NatalieJane · 08/09/2006 11:27

LOL they say the best thing to do is when you go for a wee keep stopping the flow and then go again, which I don't have much trouble doing, except that it reminds me of that Austin Powers film (can't remember which one) when he is defrosted after 25 years or what ever it is, and he does that really long wee... LMAO I find myself giggling whilst sat on the loo, I am sure my DS thinks I am mad at times!! LOL

FoghornLeghorn · 08/09/2006 11:37

I am going to SCREEEAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !

Have waited in all morning for John Lewis to deliver new pushchair for them to only deliver the bloody car seat . I am furious.

ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

OP posts:
Delia · 08/09/2006 11:38

i'm the same, do them only when i think or they are mentioned! what naughty people we are i'm sure when i do them i pull really funny faces though with all the concentration, i bet anybody watching would think i was completley bonkers!

Debz99 · 08/09/2006 11:39

Oh FHLH .... creeping around on tip toes have you given them a ballocking?

NatalieJane · 08/09/2006 11:45

Oh no FHLH! John Lewis are normally very good as well. Get on the phone and demand the rest of it delivered today or tomorrow at the very lastest!! Use all of your pregnancy hormones to make yourself sound very scary and they might feel sorry for you!!

Charleesunnysunsun · 08/09/2006 11:57

LOL! I'm so glad it's not only me!

I can just see us now all sitting at the p.c clenching making funny faces!

And yes im also guilty of not eating very healthy i do make sure i manage 10 portions of fruit or veg a day (im part of the other thread.)
But i do eat way to much choccy!

saralou100 · 08/09/2006 12:10

ooh fhlh, thats such a pain in the bottom!!! i hate it when that happens... i hope your on the phone to them right now!!

who wants me to start prattling on about pelvic floors again!! i'll be smug and sa i do mine everday (shiny halo above head) but then if you've ever seen a proloapse hanging out of lady bits, or mopped up after a woman that can't stand up without peeing, you'd do them everyday too... it's not now you girls will suffer, it's in the future!! altogether now, squeeze and relax!! (i won't nag any more )

been to the dr's today about my ankle, he would like to have it xray'd, but due to bump i can't.. so i need to see physio instead.. apparently it's an unusual injury i've achieved!!!

Debz99 · 08/09/2006 12:26

I have started swelling my right ankle and my right fingers feel quite large by about 5pm anyone else?

MeAndMyBoy · 08/09/2006 12:30

Ahh Foghorn that's so maddening - hope that you've been on the phone and they are sorting it out for you.

Have to admit that yes I am remembering to do my pelvic floors - only because of my previous experience - don't want that again thanks. The physio suggested do them every time you go to the loo - but after you've finished other wise if you stop yourself going midstream too often you can cause wee to go back up into the kidneys which could cause an infection.

If you can't hold it for ten - do one and find out how long you can hold it for - mine was 3! and then do 3 holding for a count of 3. Then when you've done that for a week or so consistantly try holding and counting agian to see if you can hold for longer and then up to 4 held for count of 4 etc. I can just about do 6 held for 6 .

LO is moving plenty - but has turned from kicks to squirms more now, definately running out of space poor thing.

I am worried though. I have discovered that I am loosing weight - I'd put on about 2 stone, but I have lost about 5 or 6lbs in the last 3 weeks or so. Have a doc's appointment on monday cause I missed my madwife appointment yesterday I'll ask them and see what they say.

LeBe · 08/09/2006 12:30

Thanks for that saralou, that image will stay with me for a while (and im just about to have lunch!) i think i will try harder from now on but cant help thinking its a bit late in the day.

Charlee - 10 portions!!! Oh dear i am ashamed my poor lo must be so under nourished.

Foghorn - i know how you feel when things go wrong it seems 10 times worse when your pg, i had the same prob last week with my wardrobes last week, i was promised them on a certain day and when i rang they said it wasnt in yet and they never said it would be!!!

I would squeeze and hold whilst peeing but mine only last about 2 seconds and i get a tiny trickle but then am gong every 10 mins (sorry tmi) x

NatalieJane · 08/09/2006 12:56

MAMB, obviously you need to get the wieght loss looked into, but try not to worry too much, I have lost loads of wieght from everywhere except my bump since I got pregnant, have mentioned it to the midwives and they didn't seem too interested TBH, one said something about the fat deposits making their way to the bump from around other parts, but that wouldn't make me weigh less! Anyway just wanted to say it doesn't always mean anything is wrong.

saralou100 · 08/09/2006 13:18

your welcome lebe... i'll link some pictures if you'd like pelvic floor exercises are never too late.. i teach women in their 70's how to do them!!!

i'm losing weight from everywhere too, except the belly, which keeps growing lately! have only put on 5lbs in weight since the start of this pg.. madwifes not concerned at all...

Kaybee7777 · 08/09/2006 13:28

Foghorn - how annoying for you, I hope you gave them a good talking to!

On the fruit and veges topic, I have been managing about 5 a day so I guess that's better than nothing! Oh and a bar of chocolate a day of course ( at least!)

I have not been weighed since I was 10 weeks at the doctors surgery, no one seems remotely interested in my weight and I don't have any bathroom scales at home. Am a bit scared to know how much I have put on

My lo is still moving around rather alot, though he does have more quiet times than he used to. ...

Thanks mygirl im ok thanks but can anyone clarify that it is normal to get really sharp pains in your belly it is never really in the same place and is quite painful but is not accompained by contractions or anything im assuming it is ligaments?

I must admit i didnt weigh myself until about 6 months and had kidded myself that i wont have put on that much cos i havent put on much weight except my bump, but had actually put on 2 stone! I felt better after speaking to my mum who put on 4 stone with my brother, and my SIL put on 4 stone too and she is really slim.
