Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ChubbyBumpy · 25/05/2014 18:11

Hi Horace, 30 is awesome (apart from feeling ridiculously tired & constant weeing) feels like final weekly countdown... I keep looking forward to each next milestone but right now it's all beginning to feel so real. Trying to finish off my birth plan(am very indecisive, keep drifting from no intervention to all sorts :(

HungryHorace · 25/05/2014 19:30

I didn't bother with a birth plan for DD. I'd talked it through with DH and agreed it was whatever it took to get baby out safely.

Good job really, after labour ended with an EMCS due to facial presentation!

flymo79 · 25/05/2014 20:51

Hi all! Glad you're feeling more positive monsters, and welcome chubby! I reached 30 weeks yesterday, super chuffed. Really looking forward to end of the month when it's my birthday and will be 35 weeks GrinGrinGrin exciting!!

mssleepyhead · 25/05/2014 23:21

Ooooooooo, so jealous of you 30 weekers! 27 weeks yesterday here and just chuffed I can FINALLY say I'm 6 months pregnant. Felt like it was saying 5 months forever!

Spending the weekend turning our spare room into a nursery as I'm off for half term this week and DH has taken some time off too. Just a little room but got it painted and off to get some furniture from IKEA tomorrow. Feels very real and exciting! Also spent some time online shopping yesterday; got a car seat and a bouncer chair. 27 weeks but I'm starting to feel like we're nearly ready! Good job, really, by the time I finish school I'll be about 35 weeks and I'm hoping I won't have much to do...

Glad it's going well for everyone else too : )

HungryHorace · 26/05/2014 06:46

Don't forget to pack your hospital bag too, mssleepyhead! Then you can really feel ready. :-)

I discovered 4 packs of maternity pads yesterday, which is good. I only need to get slimline ones now. Just need to decide how many.

30 weeks does feel like a milestone, doesn't it? Definitely downhill from here.

It's scary that I know I've got less than 10 weeks to go too. Can't wait to get my actual ELCS date, then I can really plan things. :-)

ilovemonstersInc · 26/05/2014 08:12

What is everyone putting in hospital bag?
Mine:
Pjs, maybe thin nightgown, undies, towel, shower stuff, brush, spray, toothbrush and toothpaste, lots of pads, munchies, a pair of clothes or 2. Will probably be in a few days so will need a few of each.

For baby
vests, rompers, socks, bibs, hat, Cardigan, nappies andbath stuff oplus towel.

Am I missing anything?

HungryHorace · 26/05/2014 08:48

I'm not taking a towel or bath stuff for baby. The HCA bathes baby for you in my hospital.

I won't take socks or bibs either, but will take a few muslins and a wrap which DD also had round her straight after birth.

No PJs, just nighties. And I'll have flip flops for the shower. I'll live in my nighties til I go home, so only one outfit. Plenty of pads and dark knickers though.

ilovemonstersInc · 26/05/2014 08:49

Breastpads!

topmammy · 26/05/2014 09:26

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow! Getting so excited to meet my baby girl but there is a while to go yet still I suppose. I might start getting things for my hospital bag this week though since its half term and I have time. The only other thing I can think of is pillows as my hospital never have enough when they get busy! Especially if Dads are staying too.

Multitrac birthing system My hospital have recently got one of these. I went to look round the labour ward yesterday, it was in use but saw a picture of if. Looks pretty good, I'd definitely like to try it, anyone else thinking of using one?

FriendofDorothy · 26/05/2014 19:19

We are home safe and sound after a lovely stay at the glamping at Durrell Zoo.

I am completely shattered though and generally feeling like I am falling apart. Both wrists hurt, I Have pain under my bump and I even have cramps down the back of my calf muscles. I also have a horrible cramp in the middle of my back which just bloody hurts.

In fact nearly every joint aches so I am now wondering whether I might be unwell with a virus!

Physio tomorrow who should at least be able to put my pelvis back into place and hopefully make me more comfortable.

Man I am whinging so much.

mssleepyhead · 27/05/2014 07:55

I'm so excited I just have to tell someone: my sister just had a little baby boy after a 4 hour labour! It's her second and her first had some pretty major complications so so relieved and happy this birth went well. Me next. Eep!

HungryHorace · 27/05/2014 08:00

Oh, how lovely, mssleepyhead! Your parents must be pleased that they're getting two more grandchildren so close together :-)

ilovemonstersInc · 27/05/2014 08:07

Mssleepy congratulations! Its wonderful to hear they are ok. That's the most important thing.

Horace how are you?

Tennis

HungryHorace · 27/05/2014 08:40

Exhausted! DD is teething and has had us up since about 4am. :-/

And I've just started to shift a cold / cough I've had for over 2 weeks as well.

Only 8.5 days left at work though. Yay!

How're you doing now, Monsters? Have all your aches and pains gone now?

ilovemonstersInc · 27/05/2014 09:24

Ughh teething.
Not long then horace!
Yep thankfully the pains stopped. Around a week after going to triage. Atm its spd thats getting to me always something to complain about

ds2 has been ill since Friday, high temperature, clingy, not feeding too well. Have had him checked twice and until something changes they cant do anything for him.

Wonder how disney is too

thatwhichwecallarose · 27/05/2014 19:45

I can't believe how ready some of you are!! And I'm one of the furthest gone (31 weeks tomorrow!)

We're still painting the nursery (first coat done, then woodwork to do). Well I say we......

Then we can fill it with stuff. I don't rally have lots of room so can't buy stuff until it's done. We've got dd's stuff up in the loft that needs sorting but no nappies, cotton wool, wipes, bottles etc.

PGP a pain in the arse (literally) at the moment plus I've got thrush too!!! Arrrrgh - so irritating!

Hope you all doing well!

ChubbyBumpy · 27/05/2014 23:33

Sending positive vibes to all those who are not feeling too great, hope you feel better soon. Am with you thatwhichwecallarose, I haven't packed hospital bag or prepped anything for hospital. Only just brought pram & need to empty nursery which DH & I had been using as study/office. Going to France Thursday for final holiday before baby, back on Monday for 1st NCT class which am looking forward too.

mssleepyhead · 28/05/2014 00:21

Rose - I'm trying to get lots done this week because I'm on half term and I know once I go back the 8 weeks will fly by and suddenly I'll be 36 weeks! Eep!

We got our nursery painted yesterday and today I made curtains for it, which was pretty tiring! Tomorrow I'm going to do a couple of cushions and then on Thursday DH has the day off and we're going to do some flat packing. Once that's done, we can start putting things like nappies away and it will really feel like we're getting somewhere!

One thing I can't bring myself to think about yet is my hospital bag, though. I can't really connect this wiggling bump to me having to give birth!

flymo79 · 28/05/2014 13:41

hey ladies, does anyone have experience (or currently having) SPD? my pelvis and pubic bone have just today started to really ache and hurt, especially when I walk. EEEK!

ilovemonstersInc · 28/05/2014 14:38

Can I ask what's pgp? I have a serious pain the in arse and it bloody hurts. Just feels like its locking and if I move it hurts even more :(

ilovemonstersInc · 28/05/2014 14:39

Oh and spd is playing up

flymo79 · 28/05/2014 16:45

oh, it's pelvic girdle pain, still not clear exactly how it relates/differs to spd.... sounds like your bum pain could be muscular/sacro-iliac joint, monsters, I would try to see a physio if I were you.

thatwhichwecallarose · 28/05/2014 19:59

Yes I think spd is a specific type of PGP.

Mine makes me feel like I've been punched in the fanjo all day and/or a shooting pain up one leg into my bottom. I've seen a physio and have some exercises to do, which help but not cleared it completely.

topmammy · 29/05/2014 09:07

Not had to suffer the joy of SPD myself, hope it stays that way! I just keep getting really sore sides/cramp feeling in bum in the mornings after lying down all night. Keep having to swap which side I'm lying on as it gets a bit painful Confused

I'm getting frustrated that progress in the nursery room has stopped. It's painted but waiting for a carpet. We ordered a carpet on 29th April from somewhere we have used before without problems, but we've been ringing or going to the shop everyday for almost the last 2 weeks to try to find out when it will be fitted but the guy is never in and never answers the phone. It's really strange, maybe he's gone on holiday or is ill or something..... but still, I literally can't keep waiting. Not sure how long a reasonable time to wait is. Luckily we have not actually parted with any cash yet.

So DH can't get on putting the nursery furniture up really without the carpet in, so my house remains a warehouse with big boxes stashed around. Sigh. I know there are worse things but it's v.annoying Angry

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

ilovemonstersInc · 29/05/2014 09:15

I will try and get in with physio when I can our hospital here accepts self referrals.

Argh been a horrible morning. I had fed kids, was about to put ds2 in his baby chair managed to sit him down and my hand was covered with shit :( was disgusting. Esp as id just made my cuppa and was really looking forward to it! Had to bath him as somehow he ended up with it on his arms Confused

Speech and language came to see ds1 yesterday she thinks hes high functioning autistic and adhd too. Hes only bloody 3.
On a plus side a friend of mine (not close) has has1 ds saw me yesterday and said your a really good mum keep it up. Made my day. Just what I needed to hear!
