Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
crazylady2013 · 13/05/2014 19:52

Welcome LJHH we are buddies Grin . I'm also due on the 22nd and team blue.

LJHH · 14/05/2014 06:55

@crazylady2013
Oh I've been waiting to find someone due the same day as me! Haha. The 22nd seems like a good birthday to me (provided my little one makes his appearance then which is unlikely I'm guessing) although I'm measuring 2 weeks bigger so naively hoping as a FTM he'll be out on time :)

nc060 · 14/05/2014 15:33

Can I join in this group? Im due on 30th August, only 11 weeks of work left!!!! x

weeza13 · 14/05/2014 19:42

Had mw today I am at 29+1 today, have prob got uti but hopefully that may fix having constant need to pee and kidney pain in evening, got predicted birth weight if he keeps growing at this rate of 9.14 aaaagh. Just keep thinking all the cute knitwear from mil won't fit him and also ow,ow,ow! Still have to wait for scan though to see if c.section is needed but mw thinks placenta has prob moved up as I feel laods of movement low down.really though was lovely to hear heartbeat and just want him healthy!

ilovemonstersInc · 15/05/2014 10:33

I measured big with ds2

not been measured this time think it starts at next appointment

how is everyone?

topmammy · 15/05/2014 20:08

My MW said they don't start measuring till 26w. So why I had an appt at 25w I don't know!

I'm getting panicky about my employer not having written back to me yet to confirm Mat Leave and Pay. It's nearly been 28 days (although that's including weekends) and gov.uk says they should write back within this time.

Not filling me with confidence when I remember it took about 6 months for them to sort out my pension payments. Doesn't help either that the payroll person/people/god knows are in london and where I work is up north. My head teacher also won't give me a phone number to contact the person/people who do payroll. It's all very mysterious and annoying.

Anyone know what to do if your employer fails to write back to you confirming mat leave&pay?

weeza13 · 15/05/2014 22:18

Oh,I didn't know they were supposed to confirm it I thought it was a given once I filled in the form and wrote head teacher a letter.I should prob check up on that, thanks

topmammy · 15/05/2014 22:28

Yes they should confirm your start and end dates for mat leave, and confirm if you're eligible for mat pay and how much you'll get. I just like to be in control of things and hate waiting for important things to be done so it's beginning to get to me now. Will probably need to ditch my need for control and timeliness for labour though lol Hmm

ilovemonstersInc · 16/05/2014 08:22

Lol. Yup no control in labour. Dont forget dignity goes out the window too once they start doing internals Hmm ahh well. All worth it in the end

ilovemonstersInc · 18/05/2014 08:02
Shock where is everyone? Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather!
mssleepyhead · 18/05/2014 13:04

hello all,
hope things are progressing well for everyone! 26 weeks here and had such a tough week at work last week i wanted to go on maternity leave by wednesday... luckily i've got some rest over the weekend, but am struggling with a new problem...

suddenly i feel like i've got from not really being able to do much about whether baby's ok or not to being overridden with anxiety because i feel like i should be monitoring movements and checking if his behaviour is normal all the time. this is obviously hugely impractical as most of the time i'm running around so much i don't really notice a lot of the movement, but when i do get some down time and i'm concentrating on him i get hugely paranoid if i have no movements at all, or if they seem lighter than usual. i end up poking him and singing him and basically doing whatever i can to get a nudge that tells me he's ok (which seems so mean if the poor little thing is just sleeping!)

i know movements aren't supposed to settle into a regular pattern until 28 weeks but i can't help trying to find some anyway and then if he doesn't stick to them i get so concerned (like last night, when he wasn't active like he usually is around bed time, leading to not much sleep).

i feel like now i'm starting to get further along i'm much more responsible for looking after him, and i don't think i'm coping very well with it!

does anyone have any tips...?

weeza13 · 18/05/2014 19:04

Mssleepyhead, relax! As long as you are ooking after yourself then you are looking after him. It is hard not to stress and I find myself thinking when did I last feel movement but like yourself I am moving around a lot. As everyone keeps telling me "you need to start slowing down a bit" not sure how to do that in my job or yours but give it a try.

FriendofDorothy · 18/05/2014 19:21

I have just ordered a paddling pool. I reckon it might be an essential for the summer months!

Tc80 · 18/05/2014 22:19

Hi all hope you have enjoyed the lovely sunny weekend. I've realised that all my clothes are now too hot after feeling hugely uncomfortable in the heat, reluctant to buy more but think I'm going to have to cave and get a couple of light dresses or skirts, am also regularly feeling like I just can't breathe! Anyone else finding that? Makes me feel a bit panicky - there are a couple of months to go yet and I already feel too big for comfort!

mssleepyhead · 19/05/2014 07:34

Thank you Weeza, I think that's what I needed to hear : ) oddly I'm much better during the week when I'm busy, but on a weekend I have too much time to think...

Love the paddling pool idea friend of dorothy! Might need to look into one of those...

ilovemonstersInc · 19/05/2014 08:51

It is warm isn't it! Ds2 cant handle the heat. We were out over weekend and had to have air con on in the car. Once it was on he settled. He wasnt happy with just windows open! And we were just in town!

Eeekk driving test tomorrow

flymo79 · 19/05/2014 17:01

good luck monsters!
I feel uncomfortably hot at work and it's only the start of the summer... boo. Bring on mat. leave when I can sit in a paddling pool with an ice lolly!
I think my ankles might be swelling - eeek

HungryHorace · 19/05/2014 20:17

Good luck tomorrow, Monsters :-)

Jenbee1 · 19/05/2014 20:33

Good luck monsters

weeza13 · 19/05/2014 21:07

Good luck monsters. Tc80,I know what you mean with the breathing, I suddenly get very short of breath and have had to sit down suddenly in some slightly odd places such as the floor at asda checkout or the photocopy room. It does go back to normal quite quickly though. Am also begrudgingly having to buy some clothes but am keeping it cheap cos they won't be needed for long and I sincerely hope they will be too big post pregnancy. Paddling pool sales are about to go up here too!

Thank you everyone.

Disney are you ok?? Not heard much from horace either

topmammy · 20/05/2014 06:52

Just wanted to say good luck for your test today ilove !

HungryHorace · 20/05/2014 07:13

I'm here...just busy with work / unpacking from our move the other week!

Had my 28 week appt yesterday. All is good. Baby is transverse, but that doesn't matter as I'm having an ELCS. Baby will go head down again at some point anyway.

I'll see her again at 32 weeks as I'll be seeing the consultant at 31 weeks. She mentioned a 38 week section, which would be interesting as I've been told that it's always 39. Don't mind 38 though! But we shall see. :-)

Good luck again, Monsters. What time is your test?

Rosie19792 · 20/05/2014 08:34

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know that after your suggestions I picked up a dreamgeni pillow on ebay, and while it hasn't fixed my sleeping problems entirely (optimist!) it has helped - thank you! Does feel slightly like I'm strapping myself down to sleep though!

Also reassuring to find so many other people having similar experiences at the moment - I get paranoid about quiet baby days (sometimes he kicks so much it nearly hurts, then I get days of just occasional tickles), and also have been so hot over the last day or two, especially at night! I don't want to spend a fortune on maternity gear, but think that August (I'm due on the 20th), could be interesting if it's a hot one. May just buy one maternity sack and live in it....

Have good weeks - and good luck today monsters.
