Thanks ladies, you get past one milestone and find something else to fixate the worry on! I am just so excited to meet our little person I get very scared when I start to enjoy the excitement if that makes sense. Ridiculous I know :)

lucyfluff · 12/05/2014 09:13

Yeah dont worry about ten movementa per hour...I get nowhere near that! If you know times of the day bubba usually has a kick and it hasnt happened try the cold fizzy drink/laying on left hand side for half an hour. Our hospital regs state regular patterns from 28 weeks but that is prob diff around the country.

It is annoying when they have quiet days or get in funny positions to panic us Smile

ilovemonstersInc · 12/05/2014 09:19

I thought it was 10 per day? Confused
got so many people to ring today!! Ive started at 9 and no one is in yet.
How is everyone?

Fx the pain isnt as frequent as what it was which is brilliant! Still getting the pains but not as much.

PinaColadas · 12/05/2014 10:19

I'm at 28 weeks now and have been told that from that point you should pick the 1 same(ish) active time each day (guidelines suggest an hour after a meal for most people is when baby is most active) and then allow 2 hours from that point to feel 10 kicks or movements.

Count the kicks is a really good site/charity that has lots of good advice, have a look.

Hi Ladies, just checking in for a little catch up Smile

Happy third trimester! Haven't we come a long way? Hope you're all feeling good and enjoying the kicks!

lucyfluff · 12/05/2014 15:50

Yeah that sounds more like it Pina...especially after the rubbish I have been eating Wink

PinaColadas · 12/05/2014 16:25

Baby really likes it when I eat a full share size bag of malteasers... That gets it moving :)

thatwhichwecallarose · 12/05/2014 18:16

TC - with dd1 we did have a period of no movements and went to have it checked. Everyone was so lovely and no one hinted that we has overreacted at all!

Current advice is that if you don't feel anything for a while you need to lie down, have a sugary drink and concentrate on baby.

Missvaughan85 · 12/05/2014 18:55

Girls can I ask you for some advice. My daughter is 6. She's tall for her age and we've noticed that she's more rounded in the stomach booby area. Hubby and myself aren't skinny. Have any of you ever worried about your childrens weight?? Was is a growing faze they went through?? Our eating the past 6 months has been pants so were all on a healthy food kick. What do you all think?? It feels worse because people pass comment about how different she is to us size wise.
But I was always tall for my age until high school when every one else grew.

Childrens weight is such a big thing now a days.

thatwhichwecallarose · 12/05/2014 19:38

Dd is only 3 but she's been on the 98th centile since she was about 10 weeks (born on 75th). I've heard that if you can see their ribs then they're ok (breathing in obv). I just try to eat healthily in front if her so she sees it as the norm.

Sorry can't help too much!!

topmammy · 12/05/2014 21:54

Oh pants, knew it would happen but I think I have got my first pregnancy stretch mark. Then 30 seconds after that while I was having a general search for stretch marks my belly button nearly popped out, ewwh!! Has anyone else had a belly button thing like that? Really freaked me out Confused

Feel like a whale today! 25 weeks tomorrow and midwife check up too. Hope she doesn't say I'm too big for my dates!

thatwhichwecallarose · 12/05/2014 22:32

Have had stretch marks for ages! Looks like my belly is in fire! But they go afterwards.

Oddly enough my belly button gets deeper in pregnancy rather than start to poke out! Strange!!

ilovemonstersInc · 13/05/2014 08:02

Im with you about feeling like a whale!
My belly button is stretched out.

when does the 3rd trimester officially begin?

Cant remember!

memedragon · 13/05/2014 08:27

I've been trying to keep track of movements but it's quite difficult. Generally the baby has a period of movement at least every couple of hours. I sometimes don't feel it if I'm busy and moving about, but I work from home so I usually do. If I haven't felt her move for a few hours I eat or drink something sweet and lie down. Sometimes I have to really concentrate. I've started monitoring movement in the evening too, I waitI until she has an active period and then see how long it takes to count to 10 movements.

flymo79 · 13/05/2014 09:38

hello all, had my GTT yesterday and thankfully all looking ok. Midwife said I was measuring a bit (1cm) bigger for 28 weeks, more like 29 weeks but I hear it's not a particularly exact science. Baby is head-down already, but the movements I feel are mostly very low, just around my pant line, so I don't know if she has her arms up or something, it sometimes feels like she's grabbing on to my pelvis like a little monkey! Exciting to be in the third tri - ages to go yet but people keep saying "not long now!!". I don't want to wish the time away but with things so rubbish at work I do keep wishing I could run away from it all.

sillymeagain · 13/05/2014 10:07

Missvaughan....not sure if it helps but I have found that both my girls (age 6 and 11) seem to get rounder and then have a growth spurt and it evens itsef out. I just get to the point of thinking hmmm, maybe I should do something about it and they slim down and get taller, think its just they way they are. Neither have the best of diets (although not horrendous) and both dance a lot (11 year old up to 7 hours a week). They just seem to be fairly solid. My son on the other hand, is tiny, and probably eats worse than they do.

eurochick · 13/05/2014 11:22

My belly button popped ages ago. I hate seeing it. It makes me feel a bit funny.

LJHH · 13/05/2014 16:33

Ohhh thanks - nice to see that im not alone with my strange pregnancy related ailments :)

flymo79 · 13/05/2014 17:24

just been reading over on bf-ing threads and saw this which I think is pretty amazing (the article, that is, not the site, which I don't vouch for)
www.thealphaparent.com/2011/12/timeline-of-breastfed-baby.html

perhaps just because I am a slightly nervous first-timer!!

ilovemonstersInc · 13/05/2014 18:30

My eldest is underweight and my youngest is on the 98th centile for both height and weight hes round but doesnt look really bad as hes tall too. Youngest weighs more than eldest too and theres 3 year age gap. In 2 years ds1 has only put on 8lb despite being fed via tube. Ds2 on the other hand eats anything so give hin a varied diet of veg, fruit and meat plus anything we haveso hes still gegetting new textures.

weeza13 · 13/05/2014 18:40

Had belly button pop couple of weeks ago but its really soft so doesn't notice through clothes. Agggh have also got first stretch marks at top of thighs, been using cocoa butter and bio oil but don't expect to get away with none. Had whooping cough jab today and arm a bit achy but also have blood work tommorow with mw. Quite excited to get measurments of baby as everyone has an opinion as to whether I am big bumped or not(even when they don't know how far along I am) feeling pretty good except for needing to pee every time bump gets squished by me sitting or standing or rolling in bed or pretty much anything. Glad to see some more new names joining in, hope you are all well

topmammy · 13/05/2014 19:22

Had my 25w appt today and all was well apart from a little bit of protein in my wee, but MW didn't seem concerned since BP was fine and I have no other symptoms. Didn't get bump measured as they don't start that till 26weeks onwards apparently. So I will have to put up with people's comments on my size for a bit longer it seems!

That stretch mark I found last night has mysteriously disappeared so I'm thinking maybe it was just a mark left from my clothes! I've got old stretch marks on the top of my legs from puberty that have turned white so do have the skin type for marks. Still going to be on bump stretch mark look out lol.
