Starting a new thread for August babies.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ilovemonstersInc · 24/06/2014 10:56

I thought it was a bit early lol but still not long to go!

I have the baby centre app and according to that I have 65 days left til due date but im being induced before that at around 38weeks.

ilovemonstersInc · 25/06/2014 20:40

Had mw appointment at hospital. Wasnt as I expected. Hes measuring 6 weeks ahead and sje was very concerned. Even tried to bring growth scan forward buthead said no as ive got gtt tomorrow.
Just been to the mothercare thing. It was shit.

Ohh babys heart rate was a lil fast too.

Secretlypregnant · 25/06/2014 20:47

Is this based on fundal height, ilovemonstersInc? It is notoriously unreliable - there have been quite a few instances of measuring big or small on the FB page recently. I'm sorry you've had such a stressful day. When is your growth scan?

ilovemonstersInc · 25/06/2014 21:25

Growth scan in 2weeks.
According to 1st growth scan im 'few weeks ahead' didn't say exactly how much and today 6weeks ahead by fundal height.

Hes also not head down. He laid at an angle across almost diagonal. You can see either his head or ass sometimes sticking out. Been getting some strong bh too.

How is everyone on fb?

Secretlypregnant · 27/06/2014 07:37

I hope your next two weeks pass quickly - and that baby does a bit of turning soon. These August babies are monkeys, aren't they!

I have been getting strong BH too - mainly in the evenings. Sometimes there is just no comfortable position to be in.

How was your jab, topmammy? Mine was fine at the time but then ached like buggery for days afterwards!

ilovemonstersInc · 27/06/2014 08:19

Thank you Flowers
Had gtt yesterday so dread my phone ringing.

Ohhh did top have the whooping cough jab?
Hope it wasnt too painful

ilovemonstersInc · 27/06/2014 13:54

Rang diabetic midwives at hosp. 1st lot of blood was 4.1 and 2nd was 4.7 so thats fine. Don't have gd she said can develop at any time

Secretlypregnant · 27/06/2014 15:04

Oh good news! Hopefully you will be able to relax this weekend. :-)

topmammy · 27/06/2014 22:10

The whooping cough jab was fine thanks :) my arm did feel like I'd been doing weights for a couple of days afterwards but I could still lie on it etc. All good :)

Had 31w check up this week and all was fine with me and baby :) Baby is head down at the moment, hope she stays there!

I am feeling so stressed about my stupid employer's failure so far to respond officially to my request for mat leave & pay Angry. Just had a massive rant over on the September thread lol.

Good job it's time to start listening to my natal hypnotherapy CD this weekend. I seriously need to do some relaxing!

Found my first stretch mark this week quite low on the underside of my bump. Eek! Not bothered really though :)

BeccaBrkr7 · 28/06/2014 00:42

Hi everyone, I haven't written on here for a long time! Just wondered if anyone else is suffering with PGP/SPD?? I'm due 28th August and really struggling now! Have a 3.5 year old girl!! Keeping up with her is hard work!! Any tips on how I can help this pain? I've been given a support belt but it doesn't seem to be making any difference!! Very ouchy Confused

Secretlypregnant · 28/06/2014 11:26

Yes, Becca, there are quite a few of us suffering with it, me included. Quite a lot of PGP discussion on the secret FB group lately! Have you seen a physio? Support belts can apparently make the pain worse if your pelvis is not aligned. This time I have found it useful, but this time I am still in alignment. Last time I wasn't and a belt didn't help at all. I'd say:

  1. Get a physio referral asap. They will give you exercises that will help ease the pain.
  2. Lots of pelvic floor exercises combined with squeezing your buttocks!
  3. Do everything you can to make life easier for yourself - plastic bag on car seat etc.
  4. Look on the Pelvic Partnership website, which is really good for tips and advice.
  5. Don't be afraid to take paracetamol on the worst days.
ilovemonstersInc · 01/07/2014 08:07

How is everyone?

Not seen horace for a while hope shes ok

been 'leaking' since last night so going to have to go and get checked once ive sorted kids out. Eldest is still asleep lol. Youngest is awake, had his bottle but just needs his breakfast. Hes dressed so not much to do.

HungryHorace · 01/07/2014 08:17

Hi! I'm fine...just busy with DD and the cross stitch for DC2 which needs so much work before they arrive!

I tend to read but not post while I'm sewing.

Leaking as in amniotic fluid? You're having a stressful pregnancy, Monsters? I hope everything is OK.

Is anyone else utterly exhausted, no matter how much sleep they get? I don't remember it being this bad last time. :-/

Realised the date this morning. I'm having a baby this month. Scary stuff!

ilovemonstersInc · 01/07/2014 08:50

Nice to know your ok

Ooo cross stitching sounds relaxing but stressful at the same time.

I remember mum trying to teach me and lil sis how to knit. She was sat opposite me at the big dinner table and mum showed us the first steps. I couldn't do so chucked the needles at her and theh got her face Blush
I think I was 14ish lol.

I dont know if its that but do know its made me change undies a few times. Cant be im weeing myself as when I need a wee I do go rather than wait. Once ds milk feed has finished will ring the hosp.

ilovemonstersInc · 01/07/2014 08:51

Oooo it is scary when you think about it!

I did 3 washer loads of baby clothes yesterday. All ironed too. Need to sort a place for them to go now.

AnneBowers · 01/07/2014 12:48

hello just finding out about this - am 38, due 3 august, having my first and don't know what colour it is ...
apparently there is also a facebook page - any suggestions for how to find that?

thanks!!

HungryHorace · 01/07/2014 13:35

I don't do ironing! Baby wears them for such a short time it's a waste of time!

What did the hospital say, Monsters?

Anne, PM me your Facebook details and I'll sort it.

HungryHorace · 01/07/2014 13:35

Oh, and welcome, by the way!

mssleepyhead · 01/07/2014 15:37

We (might) be having babies next month!

I just popped on to say that.

Hope you're ok monsters and its nothing worrying.

Can you believe it's nearly finally time?? I really can't... Trying not to focus on the next month thing though; would be surprised to get a September baby...

topmammy · 01/07/2014 19:43

I've still not decided if I will wash & iron all my babies clothes! Probably will end up doing it but at the moment don't have the time or energy as still working full time :( 2 and a half weeks to go. It's dragging a bit now.

STILL haven't had any written confirmation of my Mat Leave & Pay though Angry Gave my letter to them on 22nd April. I feel so enraged about it! Trying my best to get some answers (but just get fobbed off or ignored) while at the same time trying to keep calm as I don't want my baby to feel my stress :(

I want to think about baby things and listen to my natal hypnotherapy cd and prepare my mind to think positively to help me get through this birth but my workplace's incompetence is just making me feel so down.

Sorry to be a party pooper! Just need to have a moan and get it out of my head.

AnneBowers · 02/07/2014 07:58

starting to have my ribs shoved out of the way on a regular basis - not the best feeling on earth

ilovemonstersInc · 02/07/2014 08:20

Thank you.

Everything was closed so they sent me home. Tightenings were coming up on the monitor and theh were pretty strong. If I feel any worse go up they said Hmm

I washed all his clothes as they were in back bags sat in the back of our spare room so got quite dusty bags werent closed properly.

ilovemonstersInc · 02/07/2014 08:21
