Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ilovemonstersInc · 17/06/2014 20:13

Horace are they doing anything about baby being bigger? Ive had 1 scan and another 2 growth scans to go.

Boudica1990 · 17/06/2014 20:37

Thanks all, I'm just trying to keep busy best I can as I don't have many people in RL around me. Today I tried my hand at dog grooming, my poor cocker spaniel will now be laughed at by the other dogs on his walks he looks hilarious, he is all fluffy with chunks of hair missing Grin ooops.

The nights are the worse that's when I feel most alone and vulnerable but I'm trying to cope.

So glad everyone else is doing well.

ilovemonstersInc · 17/06/2014 21:36

Could you (if poss) ask someone to stay like mum, sister or friend to give you company or stay at theirs?

HungryHorace · 17/06/2014 23:01

Monsters, no not doing anything. I'm having a section anyway, so there wouldn't be any other intervention. I just grow them big! :-)

Boudica, how far along are you now? I hope vary stays put til 37 weeks. Will your DH be able to come back at any time soon? Have they given him a leave date yet? I hope you do have some support you can rely on.

Boudica1990 · 18/06/2014 14:43

I woke up today and decided I'm going to go stay with family for a bit, they are all happy enough for me to come visit and stay for a bit and rumours has it DP may be back pretty soon, so I'm happy about that :) no there's no leave or anything like that.

I'm 33 weeks this weekend so trying to keep my legs crossed for another 4 weeks at least lol

flymo79 · 18/06/2014 16:37

oh boudica, well done for keeping it together these past 7 weeks! Really hope baby stays put but keeps doing reassuring wiggles for you. I'm 33 weeks too, and had a bit of a scare today with some bleeding. Went in to triage who said it was a cervical erosion and everything is closed and normal, but I feel quite sore from all the speculum business and scraping / poking around. eeesh.

mssleepyhead · 18/06/2014 17:41

I'm still having brown spotting, flymo. Went to the labour ward with it this time last week but they reassured me so this week I'm just ignoring it unless it changes colour/amount. But it's still horrible to see and I know what you mean about being sore from examinations! Ouch. Glad your bleed had a positive outcome.

One of my year 11 students came in to school with her brand new baby today : ) had a cuddle and just wanted to steal him! Adorable, tiny, sweet little thing... I can't believe I have one of those inside of me though! How can that be?!

HungryHorace · 18/06/2014 17:56

33 weeks is great, Boudica. I'm sure baby would be fine if they came now. :-)

Fx your DP is home soon.

Mssleepyhead, a Yr 11 student with a baby?!?!?! Did she get her GCSEs completed before giving birth?

I think the spotting must just be something that you have in pregnancy. At least you sound quite calm about it.

Flymo, glad you're ok after your bleed too. Scary times. :-/ How's work going for you?

mssleepyhead · 18/06/2014 19:52

I know hungry! She gave birth two days before her first exam. Missed that one as still in hospital but did all the rest at home. Missed a lot of school before them though (on maternity leave!) so guess they won't have gone brilliantly : (

HungryHorace · 18/06/2014 23:12

What will she do? Repeat the year?

Seems bonkers!!

mssleepyhead · 19/06/2014 21:12

She's taking a year out and coming back to the sixth form the next year. Probably retaking English and maths, I think. Feel so sorry for her : (

ilovemonstersInc · 20/06/2014 08:03

Wow. I remember seeing a yr 11 come in with a baby when I was in yr7 I was very Shock
all pretty hectic here atm
Ds had his gastric appointment yesterday and they want to do lots of tests so will have to go in to hospital and stay with him while im heavily pregnant! He will be going to theatre too so he will be nil by mouth for most of the time which is even harder. Its all worth it to get to the bottom of ds problems.

Anotherappointment for today and its for autism Lets see what they have to say.... its the first appointment to do with autism

flymo79 · 20/06/2014 08:46

good luck monsters, sounds like a busy and worrying time.
Work is getting a bit tiring Hungry, but I keep telling myself it is better than moping about at home and I'm taking at least a day off a week from now till the end of july to give myself time to get stuff sorted. Packed hospital bag last night! after scare on wednesday I thought I really should be more prepared!!

topmammy · 20/06/2014 21:41

I remember a girl in my year being pregnant while taking the gsce exams. Seems like it happens quite a lot! That's life I guess.

Got these wall stickers delivered today for the nursery, so exciting! Grin

Random question.... what type/size of bag did you use for your hospital bag? And did you have a separate one for baby? I have a Nike holdall type bag I could use but not sure if I want to get a different prettier one!

Secretlypregnant · 20/06/2014 23:09

I'm taking separate bags for labour and the ward, Topmammy, but no separate one for baby. If your hospital's anything like mine, there is VERY little storage space!

mssleepyhead · 21/06/2014 20:18

Scan today. We're actually have a baby! Think it's just hit me...!

ilovemonstersInc · 22/06/2014 08:15

I will probably take a mini suitcase for me and a hold all for baby. I know it sounds a lot but if im kept in or im ill again then at least I know I have my things. I will probably pack extra at home and leave it on the side.
if I can fit it all into one even better. I might try too but last time I did it this way too.

its all getting soooo real now isnt it sleepy! Its my youngest birthday first birthday next month then this baby will be ready! Im sooooo nervous and scared about it all but excited too. I feel very unprepared!

I need to get his clothes washed, ironed and put away and hospital bag done started it never finished it!

mssleepyhead · 22/06/2014 19:54

31 weeks and I've just had a cry over my first stretch marks on my tummy and the way things are looking, um, down there. Then had to go to a lovely fancy restaurant in crocs because they were the only shoes I could fit on to my feet. This isn't going to be an easy last trimester, is it??

ilovemonstersInc · 22/06/2014 20:09

Oh God nope. Its not easy. A mw once told me once your in 3rd trimester you wil hate it. She was sooo right!
I had a hideous pair of red pair of croc like shoes! At thetime nnothing else fit. I wet from size 8 in shoe to size 12! Ended up wearing my dads flip flops that I bought him!
I noticed my stretch marks too today. They are the leastof my worries as I never have my tummy out in public as im always covered in that area and I know dh doesn't mind them as all he wants is a healthy me. Birthhas bbeen getting to me lately :( all so real now. I dont want a c section but dont want to labour with a big baby either. Defo want epidural!

Secretlypregnant · 22/06/2014 20:29

I'm really struggling this weekend too. Don't know if it's the heat or the trimester but I don't know what to do with myself. Braxton Hicks going mental as well. Feet and fingers not swelling though, at least not yet!

ilovemonstersInc · 22/06/2014 20:46

Think its the mix of both!

I dont mind contractions and bh. Its the pushing out I hate. I yelled at mw last time and told her to 'get her fucking hands off my faj' Blush not very ladylike I know she didn't even have her hands there! . I promise Im nicer than that lol.

mssleepyhead · 22/06/2014 21:27

i'm still not able to think about birth really, monsters... nct classes start in a few weeks and i guess i'll have to then!

i think i got my first proper bhs today. they actually made me stop in the street to rub the bump, which got me a lot of worried looks from passers by!

topmammy · 22/06/2014 21:49

Lovely scan pic sleepy :)

I went to a country fair today which was fun but I'm soo tired now and my back hurts. Definitely feeling very pregnant now.

I keep checking for stretch marks on my stomach but have been lucky so far. Will be surprised if I get none. I have got some stretch marks on one boon though Hmm

Got my whooping cough jab tomorrow. Hope my arm won't ache too badly!

I haven't thought too much about the birth but the times I have I feel pretty scared! I think 99% of people probably do though lol. It has got to happen though so trying not to worry too much as it won't help :) Easier said than done I know. I'm going to start listening to my natal hypnotherapy cd next week, so I'm hoping that might teach me to relax about the idea of birth.

Hope everyone is coping ok in this warm weather!

Polkadot1 · 24/06/2014 09:36

Hi everyone!
Sorry not been on for months- just been a bit crazy with work/ a toddler etc. Glad to see it looks like everyone's well? I'm 34 weeks this week (big baby measuring 36)- apparently bigger than number 1 who was 9poumds... C-section booked for early July. On iron for anaemia which has given me a new energy boost (but don't like the black poos it gives u!!). Finish work a week on Fri- not too soon, as sleeping getting tricky with bump/ wee trips/ cramps! Xxx

Polkadot1 · 24/06/2014 09:37

Meant early Aug for C section- at 39 weeks
