I tried to post earlier but it disappeared.
Everything was good at the scan matching dates etc and I'm having another girlSmile
I'm the eldest of three girls and now I'm expecting my third girl so it seems about rightGrin
Our dd's are very excited to be having a baby sister and we 're taking them out this eve to choose something at mothercare/mamas and papas for the baby then get dinner at Pizza Hut to celebrate.
Can someone update me on the list at some point? I'm always on my phone so can't do it.

Acorncat · 30/04/2014 17:21

I also starving all the time, really don't want to pile on a lot of unnecessary weight but it's happening already. It would help if it wasn't sweet stuff that I really want! I keep meaning to tidy and put away all the clothes I can no longer wear but haven't got round to it yet.

Luckily don't have too much to do to the house - we've done a lot over the last 2 years. Apart from the nursery of course, though if I get my way it'll be staying the colour it is.

whiteblossom · 30/04/2014 18:05

my mum just came over and told me to watch what I eat as "you will pile on the weight and its a bugger to get off" followed by "but you look like your doing alright, you don't look like you have put on any weight"

That's a true compliment from my mum!

Just scoffed a banana and Im going to have to put dinner in because Im still starving- its crazy!

Eastwiththem · 30/04/2014 19:39

I've totally lost my appetite, I could happily live off crumpets and yoghurt right now. Husband offered to make me crispy chicken for dinner tonight and I turned him down. Normally I am the biggest glutton ever and will eat anything that stands still long enough so it's really weird to not want anything.

Scan tomorrow and I'm bricking it already. Confused

ilovemonstersInc · 30/04/2014 20:13

Anyone else getting lots of braxton hicks? Ive haf loads today. You can really feel them on bump. Had a few past hour or so

Inbl00m · 30/04/2014 20:36

East I've got a scan tomorrow too - also terrified!

topmammy · 30/04/2014 21:27

Gosh Bex you are working long hours. Are you actually working in school till you get home late in the evening? Hope not! Can certainly empathise with it all though, daily workload for teachers is ridiculous at times. I'm a bit concerned how I'll cope when I return to work but probably best to cross that bridge when I come to it rather than fret about it now.

It's funny reading about some of your eating habits, and comforting lol. I'm addicted to crunchy nut cornflakes. In fact I need some right now!

Not had any Braxton hicks ilove they're still an unknown to me. Do they hurt?

Good luck for upcoming scans and enjoy :)

Topsyloulou · 30/04/2014 21:30

Good luck with the scans tomorrow ladies.

No braxton hicks here, just baby lying diagonally right at the top of my uterus where the skin hasn't had chance to stretch yet so feeling very tight and uncomfortable. He seems very comfortable as he has been there most of the day.

LH1981 · 30/04/2014 21:42

Hi Ladies,

I know I've been absent for a while, taken on chair of the PTA at my sons' school so just been really manic with a few events coming up.

Hope you're all well? I'm feeling much better than a few weeks back, the nausea has finally gone.

My official scan is not for another two weeks but just booked a private scan for Saturday morning so we can find out whether we're having a girl or a boy! Very excited!

I'm posting really because I've just completely freaked myself out!! I've pretty much eaten a whole (smallish) tub of chicken liver pate over the course of today without realising how bad it is!! Totally panicking I've done a damage Sad...any advice?? xx

KatharineClover · 30/04/2014 22:41

Try not to stress LH I'm sure it's fine! but you could call your mw in the morning if you are stressed x

Congrats on your little girl missbrightside will be thinking of you while you wait for results and hope all is well xx

Loving all the scan pics and team news everyone :)

I went to a free antenatal group today run by a local doula - it was great!

Teabiscuits · 30/04/2014 23:05

hols pregnancy can do weird things to the pigment in your skin, it could be that that's making you look tanned.

whiteblossom I am also no longer in nice undies. At the moment you could go trawler fishing with my knickers Blush .

Utterly exhausted after DDs 5th birthday today. Her party is on Saturday, lord help us! 18 kids and a bouncy castle what was I thinking?!

Teabiscuits · 30/04/2014 23:11

LH I know a French lady, and apparently they carry on eating whatever they like (including pate one would assume in France) and they seem to have plenty of healthy babies. I wouldn't panic over it, but maybe call your mw if you are really worried x

Nazly · 30/04/2014 23:46

Hello all, congrats to everybody who just had their scan and hope all is well with the princess missb

How do some of you know in which position the baby is lying ladies? I am 22 W and this is my first, have been feeling kicks for the last few weeks and woke up with one last night for the first time although I am a heavy sleeper

But still can't realise what is the position of baby and if he is hitting with his feet, hands or head!!

holls2000 · 01/05/2014 07:31

Morning all,
tea you made me snort my cereal with your description of your underwear - mine are similarly attractive..DH has taken to commenting on them whenever he sees them (not often!) - I wouldn't say he is overly complimentary...! I don't care, they are proper comfy! ( DH did come up with "why does the word 'comfortable' strike fear into my heart now?" the other day).

Really not sleeping well - can't get settled on my side - and I have always slept on my side - but hips ache and knees hurt. Got a dreamgenii pillow but must be using it wrong as it doesn't really help. Starting yoga bellies tonight so that might knock me out. Fingers crossed. Doesn't help that when I do go to sleep I dream really vivid dreams about work; get into school and can't remember what was dream and what was real...

Have a super day, all, especially those having scans today - looking forward to the pics! Xx

karigan · 01/05/2014 07:34

Your scan pictures are all so clear! Mine's next week and I can't wait. :)

whiteblossom · 01/05/2014 09:42

Good luck with the scans today peeps. Smile

checked the scales this morning and my gain is at 8lbs not sure if that good/ok or what?

I want to go shopping but baby is lay in a very uncomfortable position, I think he is annoyed at the lack of chocolate lol.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 01/05/2014 09:47

Good luck with scans today ladies xx

LH1981 · 01/05/2014 10:36

Thanks Ladies, will try not to panic over it! X

xxmissbrightsidexx · 01/05/2014 12:05

Thankyou katharine & nazly xx

Can I ask, does anyone else here have an anterior placenta? I do, a high up one that's not close to my cervix or anything. Sometimes I have a few days in a row where I can feel baby moving loads, when he's kicking low down so presumably under it. Other times (like now) I can go a few days barely feeling anything when he's higher up and it makes me panic when I can't feel him after being able to when he was in a different position :( I feel so sad and worried about it, when I can feel him moving I get so relaxed and happy that he's all ok in there and when I ant it's just horrible, I spend all day staying as still as possible hoping to feel him :( I'm 20+6, I should start to feel him more soon in spite of it right??

OP posts:
Acorncat · 01/05/2014 12:32

Hippy I also have an anterior placenta and kicks are pretty much as you describe (I'm 21+4). I can only feel them low down and can feel nothing for half or day or so. I've felt one kick high up but that's it, I presume the rest are being muffled by the placenta. Not very reassuring! Not sure if that'll be the case the whole way through or if once they're bigger then you can feel them as normal. He also stops kicking as soon as I lift my top to watch him - I've seen it a few times but he's always still when husband is watching and waiting.

Topsyloulou · 01/05/2014 13:25

I have an anterior placenta too. I can't feel him kicking low down but if he kicks to the side or sits really high I can feel him. It's a bit worrying when I can't feel him move for a few days because of where he is lying so it's very reassuring when he moves to somewhere I can feel him. Sure it won't be long & we will be moaning about feet in our ribs and being kept awake at night by active limbs and generally feeling more movement as the babies get bigger.

whiteblossom · 01/05/2014 14:03

Ive noticed reduced movement after moments of extreme stress. I only made this connection today. Last time was a week ago about an incident about my ds and yesterday my dm and nana fell out and both came to me to off load.

I was in mama and papas today and as I walked in and a member of staff immediately cornered me to talk pushchairs- she was telling me about the deposit scheme etc etc and she the said "and the great thing is its completely refundable should you change your mind, circumstances change or if the worst should happen" Shock thanks for that as if being pg isn't worrying enough!

by the way m&p have 30% off baby clothes and plus discounts on most other things.

Three day weekend peeps yay! Grin

StrawberryGashes · 01/05/2014 14:05

This is only something like my third post on here but I'm already having a moan if that's OK?

My 20 week scan is 2 weeks today and I am very worried about it. I had a CT scan of my abdomen one week after I had conceived and am terrified that it has caused something awful.

I didn't know I was pregnant but as a caution anyway I had done 2 tests before it (I had accidently bought a 2 pack so just used both) Which were both negative, then a few weeks later found out I was pregnant.

The midwifes and doctors have all reassured me that it wouldn't have caused any problems but I'm still so worried, I have a son with SN so I think that's what is causing me to panic.

whiteblossom · 01/05/2014 14:37

Hi Strawberrry, If the doctors have already reassured you, I don't think there is anything I could say that would ease your mind. Keep busy until the scan and then you will see for yourself that all is well, our mind plays tricks on us, and causes us to overthink/worry but that's hormones for you! Also one week after conception the egg has not yet implanted so not part of you if that helps?

Take it easy on yourself, I would say the stress/worry is more harmful. let us know how you get on xxx
