That's interesting about the sales Red. I was going to leave buying a pram till last minute, like August. But I will keep a look out for sales at the end of June then. Certainly don't want to pay full price on one. I've gone off the Mothercare Xpedior now. Quite liking the Mothercare Orb instead but of course it has now gone back to its usual price of £400 instead of the £300 it was last time they had a sale.

Lovely bump cookie. Also lovely double oven Shock lol I wish I had one of those!

Missingcaffeine · 31/05/2014 15:34

I put on loads of weight in first trimester (twice the recommended) from nausea and eating loads of carbs and now I haven't weighed myself, but I think bump and boobs aside, I am back to my pre-pregnancy size which means I've sort of lost that excess fat I gained early on. I get full so easily now, I don't like eating huge portions anymore. Having said that, I've just eaten a whole (big) bar of G&B chocolate ha ha! But I don't feel guilty. Hormones are making me really emotional today. Had a proper sob and I know it's hormones as been feeling pretty good all week! Worrying about how I'm going to return to this pressured job full time after I have baby. Also worrying about the financial responsibility - like I can't just look for an easier job as a pay cut will no longer be an option with childcare costs added onto our current mortgage/bills.
I'm taking each day of this pregnancy at a time. If I think ahead and start thinking about the birth lots, I'm sure I'll send myself crazy. My birth plan is going to be to follow what the experts recommend. I'm not going to rule out anything, including pain relief. I like the idea of a water birth.
My yoga teacher told us something interesting today - she said that giving birth in a squatting position shortens the birth canal and widens the pelvis and there is a lot of evidence that it reduces complications and makes the birth much easier. She did say that it takes some practice, so recommended women start practicing this early in pregnancy if they want to be comfortable giving birth in this way.
Still haven't bought anything! Cried in mothercare last week as they didn't have any maternity clothes in my size (10-12). I was furious as they had loads of sizes above and below. I know I can order online but I've bought soooo many maternity clothes online that I don't like and I've not found the time to return them!

Missingcaffeine · 31/05/2014 15:36

Ps love the bump photos. You all look so good!
24 weeks today. Officially bump now contains a baby! :)

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/05/2014 17:06

Oh my god been in town this afternoon and feel sooo sore now :( spd is rearing it's ugly head again I think xx

Nazly · 31/05/2014 18:27

Anybody knows of good wall stickers that are also affordable? Love the etsy ones but they cost a little fortune the smallest one is more than 50 quid

Kt1991 · 31/05/2014 18:28

I'm exactly the same missbrightside my legs near the pelvis are killing me! Thought walking was supposed to be good, but it makes me feel worse!
Here's my bump pic at 25+2, but I feel and look huge! Sorry pic isn't very good, can't seem to take a good pic at the right angle!

ilovemonstersInc · 31/05/2014 18:36

Inbl00m · 31/05/2014 18:52

Amazing bump pics ladies, I'll see if I've got a recent one on my phone...

Also thanks for the June sales tip Red. I bought a cot bed this week but was wondering whether to hold off until next payday for mattress, etc., and seems like a good idea!

Teabiscuits · 31/05/2014 18:55

26 weeks today Smile . Anyone else wondering how on earth to paint their toenails this summer?

I must get the laptop out so I can see all the bump pics.

DearDinah · 31/05/2014 19:52

Get occasional spasms in my tummy it goes really hard & tingly, are these braxton hicks? Is it too early at 26 weeks?

Cindy5389 · 31/05/2014 20:45

Missbrightside, it was me who posted about the obaby zezu. Thanks for posting the photos Smile I can't wait to get it out of the box. We went to all the shops we could think of in our city, but none had the pram to look at in store, so debating whether to just open the box or trek all the way to kiddicare in Lakeside and test drive it first..

Went to babies r us today. They had 20% off if u joined their membership card today.. Went in just to buy their Moses basket fleece liner as it was only 9.99 and we were given a Moses basket so just planning on changing the liner and mattress (ended up spending over £70 - oops) anyways I would really recommend the liner, it's really thick meaning the sides of the Moses basket r soft and u can't feel the wicker through it as u can do on some of the Moses baskets I have seen in stores..

cookielove · 31/05/2014 21:05

Hello all, aww the oven is at my parents house, just took the photo earlier at their house!!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/05/2014 21:46

no probs :) i reckon you'll love it cindy, even my OH thought it was a fab pram (and hes a fussy bugger lol) he was gutted when we got rid of it haha xx

amy246 · 31/05/2014 21:57

Nazly: we got our wall stickers off Amazon and they're brilliant! They stick onto the wall without any glue and look awesome, definitely our best purchase so far and didn't cost much at all

Cindy5389 · 31/05/2014 22:02

Baby is going mad tonight. Dh is out tonight, but I'm managing to take really good videos of the kicks when I'm lying down. Can't believe how strong he or she is now. Not sure how I'm going to get to sleep tonight.

topmammy · 31/05/2014 22:12

I've not noticed having Braxton Hicks myself Dinah but what you describe sounds like how my mum explained it. She said your tummy goes hard then soft again, and it doesn't hurt. I don't think 26w is too early to have it. If I've had it I've just not realised probably.

Baby gave me a big sharp kick/elbow earlier while I was talking to my mum, enough for me to shout out bloody Nora! Haha Grin

Anyone heard of a Shnuggle? It's basically a large sized Moses basket, was thinking it might last longer and is cheaper than a Bednest, which is the other option I'm thinking of. Shnuggle
Last day of half term tomorrow for me :( - but then just 7 weeks to work Shock it's going so fast!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 31/05/2014 22:34

I can't believe by the end of the 6 week holidays we'll be popping babies out all over the place lol xx

Teabiscuits · 31/05/2014 23:02

dinah definitely sounds like Braxton hicks, I've been having then since about 20 weeks, this being number 4 I know what they feel like! Smile . I didn't actually realise I was having them in my first pregnancy until I went into labour and had proper contractions and then understood what that weird tight feeling had been.

Recently I have started to crave ice cold mineral water, I hate admitting it as I'm usually the person ranting it when perfectly good water comes out the tap Blush At least its not beer I'm after like last time - Thank heavens for Becks blue!

Teabiscuits · 31/05/2014 23:03

*ranting about it

Nazly · 01/06/2014 01:43

Amy may I ask which brand? I want good quality so they dont fall off; would rather get sth that's tried and tested :)

DearDinah · 01/06/2014 01:53

Thanks topmammy & teabiscuits
I really like the idea of a bednest but I got given a Moses basket so can't justify buying one.
I wish I was craving water, I'm not drinking enough I've never been good at drinking water, sounds stupid but I just forget then when I get to bed I'm really thirsty.
I'm really struggling to sleep now, lying on my side is so uncomfy! I just want to be on my back, got a body pillow but it just doesn't cut it, oh well another 13 weeks & I can look forward to even less sleep! Lol

dontevenblink · 01/06/2014 03:14

Nazly we bought our wall stickers in B&Q when we had dc1, don't know if they still do them, but they are great - we even managed to take them off the walls without any marks when we moved, and they are now up in DC3's bedroom here in NZ and going strong!

Topsyloulou · 01/06/2014 07:52

Dinah I was fed up with not being able to sleep when lying on my side so I got rid of my maternity pillow & have been alternating between both sides & back and have been able to sleep through the night again. I really struggle with staying in one position all night.
