top cool urgh I keep waking up on my back, tis terrible!! I just had a bath and kept thinking should I bath on my side Confused

Teabiscuits · 25/05/2014 21:20

ilove my hubby has been driving for years and stalls all the time - I'm sure you're doing fine.

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the bank holiday weekend. I have realised that due to induction, we are likely to have another baby in 3 months time - scary stuff!

DS has finally started crawling 3 weeks before his 1st birthday :) I say crawling, he drags himself around the floor in a lopsided fashion with one leg trailing behind him. Hubby has been lurching around behind him yelling 'esmeralda!' like Quasimodo. Sometimes it feels like I already have 4 kids...

ilovemonstersInc · 25/05/2014 21:29

Tea its sweet when they first start. Ds1 crawled at8 months and was walking by 9! Ds2 started the army type crawl at 9months and has just got the hang of proper crawling!

Bl00m and top im a hopeless romantic and love all he lovey doveyness of it all Blush

Thank you tea x

cookie im sure its something like makes you feel a breathless as they are or can put pressure on a main artery or something but I thought that was when they are heavier later on?

holls2000 · 25/05/2014 22:03

I have always slept on my side. Now, I go to sleep on side and wake up on back. Midwife hasn't said anything about not sleeping on back but I have read a bit about it. However, surely sleep us better than none??

Gave sorted pram buying grumpy husband dilemma.have shown him many pics and he has said which he likes look of. I'm going shopping on my own armed with lists with "DH likes" ticks :-)

Missingcaffeine · 25/05/2014 23:57

Ilove I have been driving pretty much daily for years and love driving and am very confident, but sometimes have an off day when I stool loads. I also often stool when driving a car I'm not used to as they are all different. Don't let it put you off. You know you can drive! You have passed your test!

I finally feel good! 23 weeks yesterday and at last I have fairly decent energy levels :)
Hope everyone else is feeling good too.
Painted the baby's room today. Whitewashed floorboards and pale yellow walls.

dontevenblink · 26/05/2014 00:04

It's snowing here! Grin Very cold, brrrr

Hope you're all having a good weekend and it's a bit warmer for you all in the UK :)

Nazly · 26/05/2014 00:33

Pram finally chosen! After weeks of researching, five trips to mothercare, kiddicare, m&p, and another showroom and ending up with a grumpy DH who got tired of me being indecisive, we finally decided on Uppababy Vista;
I have to say getting Which website access helped a lot in the end, the independent reviews and test results are great on which best buy list...
Our shortlist was Graco Evo XT, M&P Sola2, Bugaboo Cam3, Icandy Strawberry/ Peach and Stokke Xplory...

I am now just looking to find the best deal to order; the best I found till now is 650 for pram and pushchair together with A car seat (maxi cosi carbio) - I think it is a good deal but if anybody here has seen it cheaper can you let me know?

By the way, the car seat in this deal is all black; I hate it when manufacturers put a price on colour !!! It is stupid!! Surely the fabric in a different colour doesn't cost them more, so why some Maxi Cosi options are twice as expensive as black ones???!!

Nazly · 26/05/2014 00:52

I bought a Troll bedside cot on ebay and collected it yesterday; the cot is a lovely item and seems very useful although it is tiny... but I now decided this is the last big item I ever bought second hand on ebay before checking it closely!! It is all nice and tidy and in working order, but the previous owner very clearly has made a mistake in assembly ; one of the sides is obviously assembled upside down which means it has visible wholes on it looking up!!! So stupid, I would never put sth like that on ebay! Or would point it out! Not sure how I missed it when I was collecting; it is a very small thing but this and having to drive more than an hour each way to collect it has done it for me... It wasn't cheap either (£90 we paid for it)

Ilove I have been driving for 18 years,I like driving, am pretty confident and very rarely have had any problem when driving, have also driven in every type of road u could think of; but having said all that if DH is with me I don't drive!! It's just not worth it having him telling me what to do or not when driving!!! Sth about men makes them difficult passengers and easier drivers!!!

Nazly · 26/05/2014 01:04

Cookie I am having the same problem waking up on my back

Topm that looks brilliant actually, I wonder if my hospital has it... Do all hospitals have tours? When will we be offered one or should I ask for it?

DearDinah · 26/05/2014 07:55

My first dose of heartburn last night woke me at 2am, not sure if it's just a one off from eating too much cake yesterday, if not I hope it's true that it means my daughter is growing lots of hair! Lol
Have a nice BH Monday everyone xx

Thinking about packing hospital bag today. Well to ve realistic its more of a small suitcase. I know I will need it. I havent started washing baby clothes yet so will start that later on but get my bits sorted first.
Ive got a new pair of pjs, ivw got loads of pads which ive been collecting as I bleed heavy will need them. Then its just few spare pjs, towel, shower stuff, undies, spare charger, some munchies, slippers, I might by a thin dressing gown? They do come in handy. I will need to buy babies nappies, coming home outfit and bath stuff as I use different things on dc. Will probably just use the stuff you get in bounty packs for him.

Its sunny here this morning hope it stays like that will try and venture out to the park this afternoon if I can.

ilovemonstersInc · 26/05/2014 08:08

Nazly you could jazz it up with some nice blankets?

topmammy · 26/05/2014 09:47

Nazly My maternity bospital does a tour every sunday at 2pm. But I didn't see it advertised anywhere and my MW didn't tell me about it. I only knew as my mum is a midwife there. Other people were there though so it must be advertised somewhere lol. You could always ring your hospital to see if they do them. There was a couple taking the tour with me even who were not registered with the hospital, they were using the tour to help them decide where to give birth.

Hoping the weather stays nice as I'm going to do some planting in my garden today. That's if I ever get out of bed.... Blush just making the most of being able to laze about hehe.

cookielove · 26/05/2014 11:08

Omg, when/where do they tell you to pack a hospital bag??

lilone1234 · 26/05/2014 11:36

My hospital also does tours on Sunday afternoons, so I will be doing that at some point too.

Haven't even thought of hospital bag yet really. I'm an overpacker though so i'll probably end up with a 20kg suitcase like i'm going on holiday!

For you already pro mummies - when you wash the baby clothes - do you wash all brand new ones as well as second hand ones you may have been given? Should all baby clothes be washed before baby wears them even if brand new? And, is it true fabric conditioner isn't good for baby clothes?

Nazly Totally feel the same about things being more expensive because of colour - have seen Maxi Cosi in black for £84 but in red for £99!

Nazly · 26/05/2014 11:47

So I told my young sis that I have no idea what it would mean to have a little boy and never imagined it; and she sends me this!!!

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhgghhhhh, really ?? :) :)

CoolCat2014 · 26/05/2014 11:55

I keep on getting stuck in the bath as something in my back is jarring :(

Nazly - we are going for uppababy vista too, tried out loads then looked at reviews an Which guide and it came out tops all round. Just need to decide which colour! Also love that can add a rumble seat to it later if needed

Best deal we've seen on it is www.trendybaby.co.uk/uppababy-vista-travel-system-denny-with-free-changing-bag-car-seat-cosy-and-toy-worth-95 - £638 with cabriofix, changing bag, toy, and some bizarre igloo thing for the car seat. Where did you see the deal you found?

ilovemonstersInc · 26/05/2014 12:09

Cookie when you go into labour your going to want to have some of your own things handy.

Lilone I over pack a lot. The worst time was when I was told ds was staying in hospital 'for a few weeks' by his consultant to see whats wrong so I had a massive big black suitcase and a pink roller suitcase (likw the ones bigger than carry on) and a hold all. In my defence it was a hospital 2 hours away from home. Dh was abroad and parents couldn't come every day as it was that far! Birth wise I know im in a few days so I take in just about the right amount in hopefully was thinking its probably easier if I have my own bag and baby has his own.

topmammy · 26/05/2014 12:22

Hmm, yep being pregnant is meaning I have to slow down a bit.... I've only planted three tubs and I'm pooped! It's the bending that is difficult. Just sat outside at the mo relaxing a bit in the sunshine until I can summon the energy to carry on :)

nazly that article was v.funny! Especially #10: "They’ll do it in the bathtub and while watching TV. I have literally been forced to utter the phrase “Stop wrapping your penis around your fork.” They do it in a way someone might, say, bite their nails or twiddle their thumbs: automatically, absentmindedly, innocently, frequently. After a while, you won’t even notice"

Teehee! Grin

Hello everyone! Not been on here for ages but all well at 22+3 and we're having a little boy Smile Only just started buying things this weekend - really need to get going with decorating the nursery before I'm too huge to be any use!

nazly that blog has freaked me out a little!! I have a very agreeable little girl at the moment and I'm a little scared of what may be required in bringing up a boy :-)
Just got back from camping over the weekend and feeling totally exhausted and I ache from head to toe. I do not recommend putting a tent up and down when 24 weeks pregnant!
Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday weekend.

polkadotdelight · 26/05/2014 17:26

We've bought our travel system today, it's second hand so we are going to buy a new car seat but it feels more real now!

I had a fright earlier. I was trying to get a heavyish metal box out from the cupboard above the stairs and it fell out onto me The corner caught me right on the top of my bump. Im trying to remind myself that he is well padded inside me but I still cried. He has kucked me a few times since and its been very low down.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 26/05/2014 20:45

Boys are awesome I have two of them, I'm not going to know what to do with a girl o
