A quick question
ive been getting pains for a few days now. Best way to describe them is when your in labour and you have all the pressure plus pains at bottom of stomach going into back and bum? With some bh chucked in too. The other night the pains made me cry but couldn't get checked out too scared they would keep me in
ive been getting them at top of bump too. Much more than usual achey pains? Ive rang for an appointment which is on Thursday (had 1 next week but cancelled) and asked for an earlier one as I wanted to see mw earlier they didn't ask why.

whiteblossom · 06/05/2014 13:42

Just wanted to share a bargain find: Morrisons sell packs of 5 knickers, you know the granny type big ones for after birth in hospital. They are cotton and only cost £2.25 so I bought two packs in two different sizes but dear god I hope dh doesn't see me in them or even in the packet!

redtooth yes I ws told at my booking in apt, I have family history so it was automatic, I had to have one last time too. Ill have to ring and ask a few questions me thinks!

Ive started painting, Im glossing some doors and the paint is low VOC so all good so far, my mum bless her is coming over first thing tomorrow to help me paint the walls- and its her birthday!!

Right I must get back to painting.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 06/05/2014 14:00

Hi ladies how is everyone Brew
I think the days are going pretty quickly, OH has said we can get the majority of baby clothes that we need on Friday,.and see about a 4d scan at some point too :) he's so excited and chose THE girliest dress in morrisons today lol xx,

Lemoncello72 · 06/05/2014 17:11

hi all, we went for the 20 week scan today, but baby was being a little bugger so we didn't get all the checks made so will be back there at 23 weeks. Hopefully they will get them finished then and can even check out the sex of the baby.

I don't know if there are any others over 40 in this group but my consultant has prescribed me baby aspirin tablets, one a day until the birth, apparently research shows if you're over 40 then they can reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia. Has anyone else heard of this or been told this?

whiteblossom · 06/05/2014 17:14

Ive just booked my next mw apt and Ive had to phone to hospital to find out when I need to have the glucose test (26w)-turns out I should have had an apt through but my mw didn't sort it and I would have missed it as the next apt with her should be at 28weeks!! Ive asked about changing my mw care and they have told me how to do it. Will see consultant next week and arrange it all then.

how cute is your dh missb Smile

ilovem have you spoken to your mw, you should have a direct contact number or at least triage at the hospital? they will be used to questions, give them a call.

cookielove · 06/05/2014 20:14

Hmmmm my next glucose test is for 28 weeks, I had my first at 13 weeks although never got the results Hmm

I was given a number to call to book in my antenatal classes just not sure when to to call.

Wow hippyjess exciting times ;)

topmammy · 06/05/2014 20:59

dont even v.sorry your having spd trouble but the lack of bum problem did make me chuckle he ;) I have too much in the bum department Blush

Hope you have a fantastic wedding day on saturday hippy :) V.exciting!

I've been to the chiropractors today, which was lucky as my lower back has been aching and been having pain going down my right leg. Had this problem before pregnancy too though but pregnancy is probably flaring it up. Feel better now though, it's like magic!

polkadotdelight · 06/05/2014 21:00

Is anyone else exhausted? Im 21 weeks tomorrow and did feel more energetic for a while but Im drained again now. There is no let up at work and Im not sleeping well due to hip/back/bum ache. Am I alone in this?

topmammy · 06/05/2014 21:05

You're not alone polka I need a nap bang on 3pm every day, which is unfortunately impossible as I work full time :(

Btw ilove hope you can speak to a mw asap about the pains you're having, doesn't sound nice at all for you Thanks

holls2000 · 06/05/2014 21:13

I'm super sleepy after lunch but by the time I get home seem to have got second wind and am ok. But then I go to bed and can't sleep cos my hip hurts and my bum goes numb!!! I'm tempted to sleep on sofa as that's more comfy than bed at moment!!

DownstairsMixUp · 06/05/2014 21:34

polka yep I am exhausted to. After work I could easily go to bed after but have to pick up ds from nursery go home housework dinner blah blah so it's just a wish for me at the mo!

lemon i have heard of that, it's got something on that in my notes to. I've been advised to take it as well as i had pre eclampsia in my first pregnancy.

polkadotdelight · 06/05/2014 22:10

Ive considered the sofa too holls!

IAteSomeofthePies · 06/05/2014 23:06

I hope you have a fabulous time at your wedding, Hippyjess!

Lemon I am also over 40 and have been told to take 75 mg of aspirin daily. Sorry, maybe tmi but be prepared to blow your nose verrrry carefully or it will bleed rather a lot. Coupled with the constant pregnancy stuffed nose, it is exciting.

ILove I hope that the pains stop soon and that you get some answers.

DearDinah · 07/05/2014 07:34

cookie I've booked my classes now as it said in my notes to book early as they fill up quick, on my hospitals maternity section on their website they have a schedule of classes & when they are so I booked mine for mid July, when I'll be about 32 weeks, my notes have a white & purple cover, did it mean anything what colour they were?
Well I'm 23 weeks today, 17 weeks to go, it doesn't sound much, but feels like it's dragging now! I'm really impatient! Lol starting to wake up with cramps & mega bad pins & needles

cookielove · 07/05/2014 08:33

Oooh dinah, I'll give them a call then :)

ilovemonstersInc · 07/05/2014 08:40

Thank you everyone.

Managed to sleep last night. Still getting pains at different strengths Confused had really sharp pain before. Last night was horrible as I had bh in between the other pains which made me even more worried. Baby is classed as viable Friday+ as I will be 24weeks. Doesn't help when people think I will be going into premature llabour like sil who had a 24weeker.

velvetlilithi · 07/05/2014 09:22

The time is running so fast. On Saturday I'm 20 weeks and on Monday finally my detail scan :) Can't wait! Hopefully, baby won't be naughty this time and they'll be able to do all their measurements. And maybe we'll find out sex of baby as well.

After that we can enjoy shopping for our little one :)

ilove So sorry to hear you're suffering from such pains. Hope it stops soon and you'll enjoy rest of the pregnancy right until 40 weeks.

HippyJess · 07/05/2014 10:28

Thanks everyone Grin so excited!

Baby boy has started kicking me very hard directly in the bladder these past few days. What fun Wink

KitKat1985 · 07/05/2014 10:40

Ahh, hippyjess that's my little girls current favourite game as well! I particularly enjoyed the constant bladder kicking at 3.30am last night! Wink

HippyJess · 07/05/2014 12:03

I swear he's doing river dance in there!

holls2000 · 07/05/2014 12:11

Oh bless. I have a few rumblings but no kicks yet - 20 weeks tomorrow.
My latest ailment is my hip. SERIOUSLY, it is agony. Sleeping is tough - I can't get comfy and find myself sleeping on my back, which I have never ever done before. Think I have done something with my sciatic nerve cos my bum/thigh are sore as sore can be. Hopefully yoga tomorrow will click it out again.

Oh, and another thing. VEINS. I have VEINS everywhere. My arms look like a road map, my tummy is becoming more so. Anyone else sporting sexy veins?

Teabiscuits · 07/05/2014 14:03

hippyjess all the best for Saturday. Hope you have an amazing time.

I am bloody knackered as well! I have to say though hubby was an absolute prince this morning. He got all 3 DCs up and ready, took the older two to school, got the baby down for a nap when he got home then woke me up at 9:30 with a cup of tea and had run me a bath. Then while I was in said bath he did a load of washing, washed the dishes and did the hoovering. And he had to go to work at 12 - I am a very, very lucky lady! His day off tomorrow, I'll have to treat him to something.

Hope everyone is ok today x

rockin20s · 07/05/2014 14:13

i am eating all round me today! and lots of movement from the baby. maybe its having a growth spurt and thats why i could eat a hippo!

ilovemonstersInc · 07/05/2014 15:19

Have to pop up to triage. On wiping there was some pinkish jelly. Not a huge amount but along side all thr pains I keep getting think it's best to go in
