Induction booked.. Consultant has booked it for April 28th Grin

Bornin1984 · 01/04/2014 10:09

Wahoooo moomin

bushprincess · 01/04/2014 10:09

Thats rubbish Hez but hopefully the threat of scary pregnant lady downstairs will keep them in order!!! Hope they manage to be a little quieter from now on!

bushprincess · 01/04/2014 10:14

sorry xpost with you all..

whoop! moomin thats great news!! Hope having a date will make everything easier to cope with xxx

loopy good attitude - those measurements are notoriously inaccurate (and if it's worth anything I've never had a tape measure anywhere near my belly.... but then again judging standards of care against Zimbabwe is maybe not that useful Grin!)... but seriously everything seems to indicate that they can be very off... but great and reassuring to have a scan - lucky you seeing the bean again! and not long to wait either so hope you can stay chilled!

and yep, lots to do in the UK to keep me occupied - loads of cousins coming down for easter, a cousin in cornwall who's due shortly after me so will take me along to her yoga classes/sling meets etc and can spend some time hanging out with mum which is always lovely

oh... and if I continue to waste my time procrastinating on mumsnet chatting to you lovely lot I'll still be getting this consultancy finished until D-day!!!!

Bornin1984 · 01/04/2014 10:34

I've only had two thumps off mini me since 5am, if he doesn't pick up soon then it's a trip to hospital!!

Isean · 01/04/2014 10:46

Heading home! Grin

bushprincess · 01/04/2014 10:55

Brilliant news isean!!!! thats wonderful.... hope you can relax at home now and everything stays calm for a while! Thanks

CurlsLDN · 01/04/2014 11:53

isean that's great news! Now take it easy!

moomin do you feel better knowing your date? Is that as early as you'd like? I'm jealous!

Right I have just spent half an hour on the phone to the tax office, and in case it's useful to anyone else, here's my case:

I am only getting SMP, starting 30th April, so will earn around £9k this year. I don't plan to go back to work/earn anything else until the following tax year.

My tax code is (now) 1000L, so the lady reckons I won't be taxed at all each month. I am a little dubious about this, as she said the low monthly threshold is £800something, but because of the way SMP is weighted at the beginning I'll be over that threshold for the first two months. If they do tax that though I'm confident a quick phonecall would get a rebate the following month.

This bit won't apply to everyone, possibly anyone else! But I also had an adjusted tax code as had an underpayment in a previous year (when changed jobs) they have cancelled the adjusted code and put it back up to 1000L so that I don't get taxed. The underpayment will be sorted out seperately, by direct debit over 12 months. So if you also have tis I'd recommend giving them a call!

Hope that is of help to some people. For me it's good to know exactly how much money will be hitting my bank each month so I can budget accordingly!

Minions · 01/04/2014 12:16

Great news isean, bet you'll be glad to get into your own bed. Thanks for tax info curls, all a bit confusing. I'll get no where near £9k in SMP, is this because my employer pays for some maternity leave?

Good news for you too maddymoomin, countdown begins! Hope all ok bornin

impatientlywaiting · 01/04/2014 12:36

Just had my antenatal visit from the health visitor.

She was really nice and very easy to talk to.

Glad your heading home Isean, hope that you are feeling better overall.

Also glad that you have your induction date Moomin, hope that it makes it easier to cope with your scar now that you know there is an end in sight.

Bush how exciting that you have all of your dates sorted out for heading to the UK. Are you heading here before DH arrives? When are you arriving?

Hope everyone else is well.

Isean · 01/04/2014 13:28

I am home & being looked after by my OH who has a day off! Smile

The docs decided I was stable & baby is happy where it is, so they'd let me home. I have to go to day case for monitoring on Thursday & phone them immediately if I feel any changes.
I am 36+0 and baby is still breech. If I get to next week and baby is still breech they will offer me an ECV to try to turn it, but it's my choice. If I choose not to and baby doesn't turn it'll be an elective section in the next week. If baby turns, either on it's own or by ECV, then I'll be induced.
I'm a bit anxious as the decision is mine & due to being in hospital over the last week.

Thank you all for all of your support! I haven't been very good at reading through the thread so I apologise if I've come across as self-centred & hope you are all ok. xx

loopylou52 · 01/04/2014 13:57

Glad to hear you're home and doing ok isean. Do you know which way you're leaning re the ECV at the moment?

Great news re the induction date moomin. Exciting that these babies are going to be arriving soon!

Vikks · 01/04/2014 14:19

Isean lovely to hear that you are stable enough to come home. Tough decision ahead for you, good luck x

Moomin not long left! You can do it. X

I can't believe these babies will start appearing soon. I looking forward to the Facebook pictures.Grin

Isean · 01/04/2014 14:33

I think I want to attempt the ECV as I've always been keen on a vaginal birth if at all possible, so I think I should do all I can to turn the baby. It will depend if my BP stays stable over the next week & if there are any risks at all I won't take the chance.

dobedobedo · 01/04/2014 15:33

isean glad to hear you're home! The ECV decision doesn't sound like an easy one - hope your little monkey turns around before next week!

moomin that's so exciting about your induction date!

I'm just back from my mw appointment. Everything looks fine, except baby is measuring 37 weeks - two weeks ahead. Midwife isn't that concerned. Baby has flipped back to head down too.

I'm getting a home visit too. She didn't say who with, it's not a health visitor because I've had that, but it's to see if I'm prepared for the baby and if I need anything else. A bit weird, I've never heard of this before but any support is good I guess!

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 01/04/2014 15:55

Glad to hear you're home Isean! :)

I'm dead chuffed, was petrified of going overdue. And they've told me again, if the pain is unbearable to go into hospital and they'll re-assess the situation. C-section is an absolute last resort - they've said they'll pause and re-start induction if it fails, rather than taking straight to section, unless baby is unhappy. I'm glad about that; I don't need any more scar tissue!

My BP seemed quite high today though, 140/100. It's never been anywhere near that high before! Even the midwife seemed concerned Hmm They re-did it twice, the electronic one didn't get a reading but said my heart rate was 124bpm, which I explained was pretty normal for me lately, and the re-try with the manual was 138/89 so still much higher than my usual, but I'm not too concerned as I'm feeling ok. And they'll do it again tomorrow anyway.

Last appointment of the week tomorrow (fingers crossed), neurology again. The headaches have been awful this week but I'm hoping they'll say it's tension headaches/migraine and discharge me.

We've had a washing machine delivered and the internet has been installed so we're officially moved in, and having a Chinese tonight to celebrate! Grin

dobe Good news on baby being head down!

bluestone85 · 01/04/2014 15:57

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. Sorry its been so long, my mum still in hospital, so my life has been a bit hectic.

How is everyone doing? Sorry I can't catch up on the 4 threads I've missed since Ive been away - though have been keeping an eye on FB and all the lovely bump pictures. Hoping everyone else is doing well. Can't believe we'll soon be having our first lot of Maybies arriving!! Eeee :)

32 + 3

Choppa · 01/04/2014 16:15

Great news on the induction date Moomin...light at the end of the tunnel.

Isean...I also have a breech bubs and have a scan next week at 36 weeks. I'm really not sure about EVC but also really want a natural birth as I had with DS1...will wait and see results of scan. Not sure I feel like I can make any decisions at the mo I'm so emo!!

I totally bawled my eyes out last night at OBEM. The waterbirth was amazing but heartbreaking for little Conan. Watching Masterchef now...hopefully that can't be emo in any way can it??

Choppa · 01/04/2014 16:17

A burnt brandy snap basket...blub blub :)

wm3010 · 01/04/2014 16:19

Afternoon ladies, good to see some positive news for isean and moomin. Can't believe the first babies are arriving so soon! Just back from 34 week check, baby is head down and started to move into my pelvis so that's good if a bit scary! Still, explains why I have been getting twinges low down, it's the baby headbutting my cervix, lovely...

impatientlywaiting · 01/04/2014 16:21

Bluestone, hope your mum is feeling better. How awful she is still in hospital. Thinking of you.

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 01/04/2014 16:21

Choppa, never make any assumptions where hormones are concerned... I cried in Morrisons yesterday because we reached the end of the fruit and veg aisle and I wanted more fruit but there wasn't any more to look at Hmm

Then I cried because at the scan we found out the baby has hair. Confused

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 01/04/2014 16:22

Hope your mum is feeling better Bluestone x

loopylou52 · 01/04/2014 17:22

Good to hear from you bluestone, hope your mum is doing ok.

Your fruit and veg aisle story made me chuckle moomin. Grin Gotta love good old hormones!

Btw, do we really have three moomins now? I think moomin35 has popped in before so we just have the two. Sorry if I'm forgetting someone else!

CurlsLDN · 01/04/2014 17:33

minions my company are only offering the minimum stat maternity pay, so I'm not sure how your total might be affected if they are offering more than that.

My earnings for this tax year break down as
April- full monthly salary as I'm technically still on annual leave
Then SMP kicks in, so 6 weeks at 90% pay followed by 33 weeks at £136.78

You can work your smp out with the gov website, here
