Thanks for keeping us posted on moomin, impatiently! I'm not a big FB fan.

At the in-laws for a week as it's Easter holiday from nursery here already. Taking the opportunity to do some intensive potty training with DS... Any good tips from those of you who've been through it? It's pretty much 50-50 whether it happens on or off the potty at the moment. Hoping to not be doing double nappies in a months time...

Bornin1984 · 10/04/2014 14:57

She's just updated - they have broke her waters!!!GrinGrinGrinGrin

Hezbean · 10/04/2014 15:38

rebecca I feel exactly the same as you. I love my job and all the team, and feel very apprehensive about handing it over to someone else (especially as I don't know who that person is yet!). There's SO MUCH really exciting stuff happening in the next 6-9 months that I've worked so hard to set up, and I'm going to miss it all. Totally gutted. I know once the little one arrives I'll feel differently but this bit is hard!!

NannyPlumForPM · 10/04/2014 15:45

Gosh it's a fair time for her isn't it! I expected the baby be out by now :)

Hezbean · 10/04/2014 16:02

It really is nanny. Poor thing that it's dragging out so much! She seems pretty upbeat so far but really hope things move along quickly for her now. Can't wait for news.

moobaloo · 10/04/2014 16:27

Thanks for adding me to the Facebook bushprincess! Wow I cannot work out who is who haha

Moas - good luck with the potty training, I have no advice to give as a first timer but sure plenty of the others have lots of experience between them!

Good luck tomorrow Isean! Wow that's so incredible

I actually can't believe this is the start of the births! (Except Gabriel of course)

34+3 and tired, heavy and keen to have the baby already, but also got lots to do first!!!

bushprincess · 10/04/2014 16:40

no worries moo - and as for who's who - there's a list at the top of the page and I think a fuller one somewhere else if you scroll down - difficult to remember!! Have a nap if you can and hopefully you'll find some extra energy for your 'to do' list!!

good luck for the potty training moas

rebecca and hez, it is difficult handing over work - we define ourselves so much by what we do... The lady who contracted me to do my current consultancy asked me the other day to suggest someone to do some work in July - I was very close to saying 'Oh no, I'll do it!' but luckily DH had talked to me earlier in no uncertain terms about not taking on any work until little one is here (sure I won't want to at that point but it just seemed wrong to help them find someone to do work that I want!!)

feeling for moomin but so glad waters are broken now, hope things move along smoothly now....

randdom · 10/04/2014 17:07

I am off work today and completely bored :( however on the funny side have been hanging out with my cats and one who was sat on my tummy just gave me the dirtiest look as the baby kicked him!

CurlsLDN · 10/04/2014 18:51

Hey everyone, I'm on my 3rd week of maternity leave, and I definitely worried that I would go mad with nothing to do/no one to see all day!

Actually I've found it quite the opposite, I've been very content with doing little jobs around the house, local errands and meeting a friend for coffee here and there. In fact today I ventured into Central London for the first time since work, just to meet someone for lunch, and found it so exhausting I don't plan to do it again in a hurry!

I think at this stage our bodies needs are so different to normal that we can just slow right down much more easily than usual

dobedobedo · 10/04/2014 21:00

I wonder how moomin is getting on? She hasn't updated Facebook in quite a while. Hopefully she's enjoying newborn cuddles already! Smile

Good luck for tomorrow isean! You must be so excited!

Things are a tad more dull in the dobe household. Today ds and I had a cull of some of his toys and we tidied and totally decluttered the living room. It's left me completely knackered, my pelvis is killing me. I'll sleep well tonight, I hope! Tomorrow I'm going to go and source a whooping cough jab - I'd completely forgot about it! I hate needles, but needs must and all that.

Hope everyone and their bumps are doing well Brew night! X

AppleCrumble1 · 10/04/2014 21:41

I had my last day at work today as using up holiday before mat leave starts. It feels weird & I didn't want to hand over but it has been very stressful & I've got swollen feet & painful hands so it must be a sign to slow down...

Bornin1984 · 10/04/2014 21:49

Night two in hospital :-)

4 days til eta!!

Good luck tomorrow Isean :-)

Chip86 · 10/04/2014 22:52

Hope your not to board in hospital borin

my tip for mat leave is sleep in till 12 then you only have half a day to fill with doing jobs round the house going for a walk or a swim and before you know it its time for dinner then bed Grin
also write really long to do lists and look at and be like well im not going to get all that done so i wont do any of it
or maybe thats just me and im reverting back to being a teenager

Chip86 · 10/04/2014 22:53

Hope moomin ok

impatientlywaiting · 10/04/2014 23:38

Good luck for tomorrow Isean. Can't wait to hear of your new arrival.

Isean · 11/04/2014 00:02

Thanks for the good luck messages everyone!
My head is in a tizzy & I can't seem to switch off! I have to be at the hospital for 8am & apparently I was the only one on the list for the morning so, providing there are no emergencies, I should be taken to theatre about 9am!
I'm nervous & excited & can't get my head around the fact that in 12 or so hours I will have a baby & be a proper mammy!

Hezbean · 11/04/2014 00:03

Good luck isean!!! Will think of you in the morning. Keep us posted! You must be so excited. This time tomorrow you'll be snuggling your lovely newborn! Xxx

loopylou52 · 11/04/2014 00:17

Good luck isean!! (Was going to wait to say it in the morning but sounds like baby might be here by the time I'm sufficiently awake!)

NannyPlumForPM · 11/04/2014 00:33

Best of luck isean am sure it'll go well!!

Do you know sex/ weight/ have names ready???

Vikks · 11/04/2014 00:43

Isean all the best for tomorrow and hope you manage to sleep. So excited for you! Grin

I hope Moomin is snuggling her newborn by now and not still in labour.

Moas my top tip for potty training from DS is, strip from the waist down whenever you're at home. DS could clearly associate the feelings of needing the toilet and see what he was doing. It did help doing it in the summer when he could just play/pee outside. It took about two weeks. I think timing is very important too, they need to be able to recognise the feeling in their bodies and that takes a few years. I think girls are usually a bit quicker than boys. Good luck. Smile

35 weeks today for me. I saw my midwife today and don't see her again until I'm 39 weeks! I have to go to hospital next week for some swabs, mrsa I think she said. Has everyone else had this?

Hope everyone else is well. X

PotatoPolly · 11/04/2014 06:06

Good luck isean, I'll be thinking of you!

Last day at work today, very excited to get it all over with Grin

Babies will be coming thick and fast soon!

34+5

Chip86 · 11/04/2014 06:28

All the best today isean

Minions · 11/04/2014 07:01
