Baby moved but not as much as he should be but I'm happy enough he's moved!!

35/40 ....13days to go

Bornin1984 · 02/04/2014 19:52

Can somebody helpme: I've been off sick for four weeks, our annual leave year finishes this week, I have three days left, my mat leave starts next week does that mean I've lost them days

dobedobedo · 02/04/2014 19:55

nanny not selfish at all! I really feel for you diabetic ladies. Sometimes, when everything hurts and work is a bitch and I'm over emotional and tired, pasta and cheese is the only joy left in life! So moan away, that's what we are here for. Anyway, I'll be where you are after the baby is born! I have a shit ton of weight to lose!

My dad called me earlier, he reckons I've been poisoned by this Sahara dust pollution that's apparently in my area. Hmm I have been coming down with something all week, I think I'm probably just developing hay fever or a cold or something, but he's worried and is telling me to stay in doors. Haha! Bless him. I have two days of work left and after that, I plan to not get out of my pjs for a week! So he need not worry Grin

So far I'm coping okay with ds being on his school residential. If I don't think about it or try and imagine what he's doing, I'm fine.

Hope everyone is doing well. bornin glad baby has moved for you!

NestingNesting123 · 02/04/2014 19:56

I'd say speak to your employer Bornin. Most allow people to carry a few days over into the next year and I can't imagine many employers having a policy of confiscating holidays from a pregnant woman who was unable to use them.

bushprincess · 02/04/2014 20:44

glad you've felt some movement bornin

sorry to all who can't eat what you need too... how rubbish! hears some virtual Cake .... at least that can't affect your sugar levels!

had a sudden urge to pack my bags ready to fly - which is great now I've done it but just as I was finishing I got quite intense BH so is definitely time to get myself to bed...between work (aka procrastination), swimming, walking the hounds and packing I'm done in! (all is ok, definately BH as settled down now I've just sat at the computer, but a sign that I need some rest I think!)

night all and sleep well!

NannyPlumForPM · 02/04/2014 20:52

Just a quicky-- bornin you are nhs yeah? Check the policy- with mat leave there's something to do with being able to carry A week minimum due to the positionin of mat leave - obviously you can't take this due to sick leave so as far as I know policy states that you can tack the days onto the end of mat leave??

Check with hr in mornin- def worth a ring

NannyPlumForPM · 02/04/2014 20:53

And dobe thank you Wink I am sure the Sahara dust is making me grumbly Grin

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 02/04/2014 21:01

Really intense pain in my scar tonight... totally fed up now, waiting for cocodamol to kick in :( sorry to hear so many others are struggling too!

TMI alert but I am so blocked up again :( and I am boiling, can't cool down, but all I can do really is keep an eye on it, down shots of lactulose (I wish I was joking!!) and book for GPs tomorrow morning if the pain gets worse :(

Anyone else already feeling scarily overprotective of new baby despite it not being born yet? [hmm}

Squiffie · 02/04/2014 21:01

Oh Nanny I could have written that rant myself and more!! The GD has really gotten to me this week. I'm at the point where I just don't want to eat anything at all. I don't think I'll eat another egg except Cadbury creme eggs for quite some time after this baby arrives.

Bornin1984 · 02/04/2014 21:21

Pumpkin patch has a sale on!! Bloody hell!!

Should eat cake instead of shopping...

Jellymum1 · 02/04/2014 22:08

GDers rant away! as a poster above said sometimes eating what you want makes you feel better emotionally. poor ladies we are all certainly going to be glad getting to the end and having our babies and this will be a distant memory! all keep well.

says me..I cant stop crying ive held myself together and have been dead proud of myself (I am a massively anxious person who freaks out quite easy usually) but I remained calm and took what came and tried not to worry but now I just want to go home! bed rest sucks!!!!!! whod have thought it I moan all the time I never get time to myself and here I am moaning now im ordered to stay in bed...bloody women we are mad! I miss my baby at home she has been in to visit but I want to be at home cuddled up!

chattychattyboomba · 02/04/2014 22:36

Oh jelly Sad you poor thing. Being stuck would drive me mad! And for those who have GD, you are all more than welcome to a rant! Food is my pure joy in life and I hate the restrictions already without GD so you have my sincerest sympathy there. I have had horrible vomiting this time that I am still overcoming so I have found that really testing, I miss enjoying food. I miss not being scared of it! You all have my sympathy!
Moominiswaiting you're not alone there. Prunes have helped me a bit but not much since the antiemetics I take to stop vomiting tend to counteract them! I don't like being pregnant one bit. In all honesty pregnancy can lick my balls. If I had any. The baby part is great though Grin
So excited for those who get to meet their little ones very soon!
Booking in a 4D scan this week as it's already the latest time recommended to book in! Will hopefully get to find out how big this bub is. Very nervous as DD was huge so will be good to have some idea.

Jellymum1 · 03/04/2014 00:16

awww good luck at the scan chatty how lovely!

I am a bit of an odd one and usually have low blood pressure even though im a fatty Grin so the biggest problem I have is mobility (and stress) keep my blood pressure on a reasonable level usually around 100/70 but because im on bed rest my blood pressure is in my boots! so im getting headaches and chest pains now too...it id an excuse to eat lots of crisps though im allowed to eat more salt lol. every cloud hey.

eggsnbeans · 03/04/2014 02:36

Thanks for mat pay info CBeebies... I'm pretty sure I'm not entitled to much as I was still on mat leave from previous job (although had just resigned) and had been for 12 months! lazy cow! Although I am also self employed... dunno. May well just fill in forms and wait and see! Wink

Glad you're home isean My mum and SIL both had ECVs and said it was fine! I apparently flipped back after the ECV, but turned head down again just before D-Day.

Wow bornin can't believe you've only got a few days left!!!

Still no sign of more contractions jelly? Bed rest must really suck!

GDers rant away Wink I know I wouldn't cope well, and I can't even eat sweet things/chocolate when I'm pg! Let alone the multiple needles! I pretty much pass out when I get a vaccine Confused

Is anyone else still having wicked cravings? I am totally craving smoothies at the moment... it's all I can think about all day and I'd quite happily forgo solid food and just live off them alone! Mostly they're healthy enough (milk and frozen fruit) but sometimes I have to add milkshake powder to them too!

Is anyone else planning on using cloth nappies? We have used them on DD since birth so will use them again for no 2, but just wondering if I'm the only one!

Bornin1984 · 03/04/2014 03:27

Eurgh can't sleep! Baby having a disco!! What reduced movements?!!!ConfusedConfused

My baby is coming in 11 days!!!!!!!! ShockShockShockShockShock

dobedobedo · 03/04/2014 07:02

eggs I've been craving smoothies too. I make them myself with frozen fruit and fruit juice and I can drink pints of them! I'm pretty sure smoothies is the only reason I'm not bunged up with piles. When I'm not drinking smoothies, I'm drinking pints of full fat milk. I could quite happily live on this liquid diet until baby comes. Grin

Second last day of work today! Shock

bushprincess · 03/04/2014 07:07

morning all!

Had a horrible dream last night (and had to wake up DH for a cuddle when I woke up)... I'd had the baby but he went missing!! I was running everywhere asking people to find my baby but my voice wasn't working... it was horrible.... Sad so yep moominiswaiting definately overprotective already!

bornin 11 days! WHOOP!!!! and v.glad you finally got your movements! Have a word and ask him (her -can't remember do you know?) to be more co-operative and move in the day not the night!

Jelly thinking of you trapped in bed - must be pants Thanks

chatty enjoy seeing your little one today - how lovely!!!

eggsn we're going the cloth nappy route (or at least planning too... hope we get on with it)... I think my decision was swung as we can line dry easily (we're in Zimbabwe so plenty of sun). Would love to hear your experiences - we've been given some from lovely friends (can't remember brand, but pre-folds with shells) but have ordered a few different types from the nappy lady (bumgenius and bamboozle stretch) so we can try a few and see which suit us best... do you have any reccomendations??

whispering ok, I'm maybe going to out myself as a bit of a hippy here... but we were also planning on giving this Elimination communication a go, probably only part time and we don't have any carpets which helps!.... but has anyone here had any experience??

Squiffie · 03/04/2014 08:15

I'm so over this pregnancy/gestational diabetes lark. All I've done is rant at my older two DCs this morning over silly things. I feel so awful and now just sat here sobbing when I really should be sorting DS a packed lunch and getting him to school. Sad
I know how lucky I am to have my beautiful kids but finding it really hard to appreciate right now and just think they deserve so much better than I've got to give at the minute.
Sorry for selfish ranty post, I know people are dealing with far worse just needed to get it out.

Jellymum1 · 03/04/2014 08:32

squiffie squiffie squiffie dont worry it is really hard and emotionally draining and the kids wont be traumatised or anything! this bit I think must be more difficult than introducing the new baby bit! sending hugs and strength xxxxx

eggs I really want to use cloth but when I tried to look into it I ended up in floods of tears!! I didnt understand it at all....there are so many types of nappy then liners fasteners pre folds bla bla bla so I bought these probably bloody rip off organic earth friendly disposables from boots to start with and will try to look into reusable when baby is here.

wm3010 · 03/04/2014 08:45

Morning all, so sorry to hear some of us are still feeling rubbish through GD or otherwise. Thanks to you all, it's not easy this pg thing is it?!

On nappies, I am interested in doing cloth but have decided to wait until lo is here and then decide as apparently the ones that suit depend a bit on the size/shape of the baby.

Chip86 · 03/04/2014 09:31

Sorry to hear so many of you suffering with GD Thanks

i wanted to use reusable nappies but decided in this small flat with no were to dry stuff it will do my head in being surouneded by drying nappies 24/7

Right got to get up as have to do my two hour walk today skiny fit midwife orders my feet have swallon just thinking about it

chattychattyboomba · 03/04/2014 10:04

Squifie SadThanks hang in there! It's not all the craving pickles and 'glowing' it's cracked up to be.

As for cloth nappies- I tried with DD1, but they honestly did not hold those butter chicken curry breast milk poos (you know the ones that make their way out through the back of the neck?!)
We also tried the earth ones from boots Jelly, they do not have very stretchy waste so found the fit rubbish and also the fastening bit just ripped off many times! Also they seemed to repel liquid instead of absorb it!
We had our best success for poo holding with pampers. Not environmentally friendly...but sanity friendly!
Hopefully you all have better luck with cloth. Smile

Isean · 03/04/2014 10:22

Sorry to read some of you are having a really rough time with GD, as if we aren't restricted enough in pregnancy!

Jelly thinking of you, I found 6 days/nights in a busy maternity ward really hard-going emotionally. All you want is to be with your nearest & dearest, but to know that you wee is getting the best possible care is the main thing at this stage.

Bornin 11 days!!!! That's so close & so exciting!

Sorry for not name-checking everyone, this is such a busy thread I get lost & I definitely have baby brain!

I have spent the morning scolding myself as I really suffered overnight & this morning for doing too much yesterday. I got a bit over-excited at being home from hospital, nesting kicked in & I wanted to make the house totally ready for baby coming anytime. Therefore I had Braxton hicks & an achey back most of the night & I've been hobbling about this morning! My OH is trying really hard not to say "I told you so!" but it's written all over his face!

I'm just on my way to day case for monitoring. Hoping to see the consultant too to discuss things & the possible ECV procedure if baby doesn't turn, I have heaps of questions! I'm also going to push for a date for induction/section, I need something to focus on.

36+2

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 03/04/2014 10:30

Might have to head off to day unit this afternoon, Mini Moom is very very quiet which is very unlike him/her! :(

Bornin1984 · 03/04/2014 10:38
