TheOnlySeven EDD 17th September Team Yellow

Haven't been around for a while. Starting to feel a lot more pregnant now, I have sciatica that won't go away and now starting to suffer from heartburn too.

I don't think stretch mark creams make any difference, you're either prone to them or not. A general moisturiser is good though, it's nice for bonding with the bump and can help stop it getting itchy from the stretching.

Stupid pregnancy insomnia, have been awake for about an hour. Dh woke up and went to pee, when he came back into the bedroom I gave him a big cheery hello and he just grunted at me. He was asleep in minutes. So unfair!!!

I have been using bio oil for the last 6 weeks and it seems to be helping my pre pregnancy stretch marks fade so I am going to keep using that. Fingers crossed it stops me getting anymore!

Theonlyseven, I had sciatica at around 12 weeks. It was particularly bad when I went for my 12 week scan and I couldn't even drive, it was painful getting on the bed in the ultrasound room! However, later that night I did some light stretches and it really helped! I have been doing them nearly every night and haven't suffered at all since! It might be worth trying some stretches or calling your doctor or midwife to arrange a physio appointment as a pregnant friend of mine did.

I've bought some Nivea stuff that you use in the shower after your shower gel to moisturise as I'm rubbish at remembering to put creams on, it seems quite good so far, skin definitely feels better and it's been a bit dry since I got pregnant.

I already have loads of stretch marks from gaining and losing weight over the years so sure I won't escape no matter what I do! Think it depends on your skin being honest

Morning everyone, one of the chemists in my town had bio oil on offer 1/2 price so brought some this week, although my stretch marks from my previous pregnancy are still visible so probably won't do much!

Would anyone be up for doing a Facebook group at all? Seen it on a few of the other Antenatal groups :)

Im using bodyshop's shea butter and when Im short on time, baby oil. I used both of these during my last pg and I didn't get one stretch mark. Though it might be down to genetics- my mum and nana didn't get any either. Either way Im not chancing it! I think the massage helps circulation, helps move excess fluid and get the blood moving to plump up the skin so it can only be a good thing!

Im so pale at the moment, wondering about fake tan (nothing orange!) just something to make me look human again. I don't think my spots would agree though..I cant be bothered with gradual ones and I cant use anything with oil in, Im wondering about using the He-shi, anyone tried this?

I think Im feeling proper movements today!

CoolCat2014 EDD Sept 2nd team yellow for now

I've been using Mum&me bump shower wash, finding it's very moisturising and love the smell. You can get it in most supermarkets.

I got maternity jeans from Mothercare. Very comfy, but not confident the band at the top is well made, half the stitching has come out already :(

I'm having issues sleeping on my side, keep rolling over onto my back and waking up lots and having issues with low blood pressure. Has anyone tried one of those U shaped pillows before?

Coolcat I'm struggling with sleep too, I've just ordered a mum e body pillow to see if that helps me get more comfy, I've not really got a bump yet, only 14 weeks but I keep getting bad neck ache and just can't seem to find a comfy position. It's not arrived yet but I'll report back when it does

I am always on facebook so would be happy to join Grin

As for the moisturising, my skin is really dry anyway, so I have been sticking to my E45 and aquaeous (spelling?) cream. I agree, the massaging onto bump makes you feel a bit closer to baby.

I'm up for a fb group on the condition that it stays here too. My group with DD2 moved entirely over to fb, I'm not always on there as I seem to go through phases where fb annoys me.

HippyJess · 29/03/2014 09:39

I'm up for Facebook too :) like it on here too though, easier for longer messages and updates, but FB is easier for asking questions.

I'd prefer to stay here, FB groups are all a bit too public and real life for my liking! Smile

Report
Fairypants · 29/03/2014 11:47

I don't really do Facebook as I find it sucks my life away and groups on there aren't very doable on the app. I did find that my previous MN antenatal group disappeared once they started fb as well so feeling a bit worried I'm going to get left alone here Sad

cookielove · 29/03/2014 11:50

I think to keep everyone happy, this thread should stay alive but a private facebook group should be set up!?!

I think fb is a nice idea to stay in touch after we are all postnatal rather than antenatal :) Would be a shame if the group on here went quiet just yet though so I think I'll stay on here only until baby is born.

Report
TheOnlySeven · 29/03/2014 14:06

There's a postnatal groups section on here too, once we've all had our babies we can move there. I'm happy to join or set up a fb group but would rather mostly post here. I found once my other group moved there it's only good for asking questions and posting pictures, the conversation isn't fluent like we can have here.

Does anyone want me to set up a private group on fb?
