Hi all, been in hiding as had a terrible week with serious asthma appearing out of no where. Think I'm through the worst though, but been a but scary!

My due date is 2nd Sept, and not really too worried if baby comes early. My younger brother is late August, and got a 1st at uni and now weeks from finishing his PhD, with major dyslexia... So I figure age in year doesn't have as much to do with it as the child's nature (and my brother never ever did any homework... Go figure). I actually heard one argument that the youngest in the year will get pulled up by the older ones, which makes sense to me!

Hello, all chugging along over here, I've decided to call up the hospital and explain the situation and hope they let me keep the appointment anyway buy if not its ok!

Borrowed my mates doppler, and heard the heart beat!

I have also been considering the youngest/oldest thing, as my section will be around 38weeks, meaning almost certainly a late August baby, I'm a late August baby and never felt it a problem, although no one was ever around for my bday party!. I've been told if it's a boy better to be the oldest, and a girl the youngest, as I'm not sure we're going to find out I don't think that's going to be of any help, when choosing my date!

I agree with topmammy - I think that to begin with it probably does make a difference, when you are only a few years old, a year is a big difference but I doubt very much it has any lasting effect.

Also got some baby bits yesterday - 3 sleepsuits, a hooded towel and wash mit and a little pink cardigan with a little hood with little ears! DP turned quite soppy! It is really exciting!

Also tackled the bra issue and tried a load on to see the best size of the moment, which is now 38DD from 38C pre-pregnancy! I got a pack of 2 nursing bras from M&S on sale from £29.50 reduced to £4.99. How's that for that a bargain?!

Bananapickle · 27/04/2014 19:59

lilone1234 that really is a good bargain!

Got my scan on Tuesday and really can't wait. Seeing all the scan results is making me even more excited, although I know it's going to be over far too soon and then it'll be 20 weeks until I see them again!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Hello, I'm new to posting here, though have been stalking following this thread since I found out. Not felt confident enough to join before.

Had my 20 week scan last week, all seemed well. I'm glad the cut off for school age in Scotland is the end of Feb, having so close to the end of Aug cut off would drive me mad I think.

This is my first so it's all a bit scary really!

Welcome acorncat! Nice to hear things are done differently in Scotland, wonder if it makes any difference? Wales is the same as England I believe... Not lived her long enough to know really!

welcome acorn

Saw DHs cousin today who is going to be lending us lots of girl clothes, but now slightly worried as she is very fussy with her stuff. She clearly wasn't happy when I suggested I can store clothes is the garage for now (in sealed boxes, garage is attached to house and completely free of damp). She is the only person I have ever seen who irons and hangs up vests and babygros in size and colour order in a wardrobe!
Of course I will look after her things, but this is baby number 4, I can't be doing with ironing vests. Now considering telling her not to worry but don't want to upset her - any suggestions?

Morning all! I feel a little more human today. I invested in a pregnancy pillow and although I couldn't get used to it on the first night last night was much more comfortable.

Welcome acorn!

teabiscuits I'd be inclined to take them out of politeness but not actually use them so you aren't fretting about stains etc.

Report
KitKat1985 · 28/04/2014 09:51

To be honest teabiscuits if DH's cousin is expecting to get back all the baby clothes in the end in pristine condition I'd probably politely decline. Invariably some will get stained / damaged if you use them (just as a fact of life with a new baby) and it would stress me out too much worrying about them. And I definitely wouldn't want to borrow them if she expects you to be ironing them all the time! (I'm probably biased here, in that I have a general rule that life is too short for ironing, although I may make the [very rare] exception for a shirt or nice dress).

My dm irons vests and pj's for my lil brother who is a year old. I dont have time to do so! I wouldn't take the clothes personally
dh did rhe injection for me this morning and it hurt more :( dh felt bad and so he kissed forehead which was really nice at 7am!

I had to go walk in last night as throat was getting worse and I couldn't drink anything which meant I also have a uti so they gave me 2 lots of antibiotics. So altogether im on 14 tablets plus1 injection! The antibiotics made me heave this morning the smelt horrible

Saw my sister at teh weekend (we do not get on) and she insisted i stand up to "show her the bump" then proclaimed that "I'm HUGE!" bitch.

just in general conversation with the rest of the family i said that i had only put on 6lbs so far which is average and of course she has to pipe up "thats all REALLY?"

i was close to hitting her. its one thing for me to say i fell big but its another for someone else to say it.

hopefully i wont see her for 4-6 months weeks (if i can help it)

Had my 20 week appt. today. Baby was facing completely away from us and would not turn round. All checks they could carry out was fine, but have another scan booked in for 8th May to finish all the checks. It seems baby is using the placenta as a pillow so seems far to comfy in there.. Couldn't get a scan pic today so hoping he or she turns round by next scan.

That's awful rockin, she is so rudeAngry
I hope you get better pics next time Cindy.
Surro- the list was re-started at the beginning of this thread as there were likely to be a number of people on it who sadly were no longer expecting so it was felt to be simpler to start again. There was then a copy and paste error at some point so I've had to be put back on twice this thread.

Hi surromummy, I think we started a new list at the beginning of this thread as we were worried about people who'd had bad news but hadn't felt able to share who might feel upset about still being on the stats, so we had a re-enrolment at the start. Sorry you've been missed off, it got a bit hectic :) If you let me know your stats I'll add you on x

yes i try to keep my distance from her as much as possible!
she says all this with a big smile on her face, like butter wouldn't melt so if i do explode i'm the one that looks bad.
she can be very passive aggressive too. whereas i just do a death stare and ignore to people i don't like.
