My DH felt the baby kick for the first time last night too missbSmile he's too impatient to wait normally. I also saw hiccups at the weekend- ive never seen or felt them in my previous pregnancies so it was quite exciting.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 24/04/2014 16:10

aw fairypants thats lovely :) i used to love it when i felt hiccups, its so cute lol xx

KitKat1985 · 24/04/2014 17:12

Really sorry to hear your news Jemma. Hope you have lots of support in your life right now to deal with this. Thanks

As for me, not much going on apart from feeling hungry and tired more often. Probably not helped by having to get up to pee several times a night now (I guess that's practice for getting up several times a night when the baby arrives)!

I think I'm feeling quite a lot of baby movements now, (being baby #1 I'm having to guess these are baby movements). Feels like flutters in my stomach or being poked gently on the inside. This being right, I've realised baby seems to get particularly active if there's some pressure on my stomach (e.g, wearing a seatbelt) or if his / her living space becomes cramped (e.g, if I have to bend down to pick something off the floor). It's quite funny really!

20 week scan is the 2nd May. A bit nervous in case they say anything is wrong, which I guess is normal; but really looking forward to being able to know the sex in just over a weeks time! It'll feel so much more real to me then, and then we can start thinking seriously about names and things!

Cindy5389 · 24/04/2014 18:08

So sorry to hear ur news Jemma. Hope u have lots of support at home.

topmammy · 24/04/2014 18:22

Very sorry about your news Jemma Thanks Take care xx

I feel so poorly with a tickly/sore throat, wisdom tooth pain, headache and not sure if me feeling so exhausted is due to this bug I've got or general working in pregnancy Confused. Hoping I will feel better soon as the end of term in July feels like a really looooong time away right now!

My DH hasn't felt a proper kick yet, but then again I can't either by just putting my hand on my tummy. So either too much padding or baby isn't kicking strong enough yet lol.

Bump alert.
Lets see if this works.

Oh Jemma i am so sorry to hear your sad news, thinking of you and your family at this sad sad time!

Wow all these bump photos exciting!

TwosaCrowd · 24/04/2014 19:54

I find out whether we're pink or blue tomorrow morning!!

Kt1991 · 24/04/2014 20:08

So sorry to hear your sad news jemma take care x

We had our scan today and were having another baby boy! Had an instinct it was, secretly would of loved a girl but baby is healthy so that's the main thing :) we had to go in and out of the scan 4 times as baby wouldn't flip over for a check of the heart, already being a monkey before its born!

HippyJess · 24/04/2014 20:35

Us too tomorrow twosacrowd, just not til 4.20! Eep!

Teabiscuits · 24/04/2014 21:35

Pooping myself about scan tomorrow. it's at 9.20 so at least we don't have an agonising wait all day. Plus it's on a day I'm at work so I'll be paid for my time at the appointment. I would like to kiss whoever wrote that law.

jemma so sorry, I hope you can find some strength and comfort in what must be an incredibly difficult time. Love to you and your family Thanks .

Nazly · 24/04/2014 21:36

Jemma so sorry to hear that... I only wish you have good support around you in home... take care Thanks

Lottiedoubtie · 24/04/2014 21:59

Lots of scans tomorrow, I wonder if any of us end up in the same hospital waiting room. Wink

DearDinah · 24/04/2014 22:38

I have a scan tomorrow too!
Has anyone been contemplating a home birth? I've started a natal hypnotherapy book & cd course & it makes so much sense to try & stay at home, but being my first everyone's trying to talk me out of it

TwosaCrowd · 24/04/2014 22:45

Not a chance Dinah - I want someone else to clean up the mess Grin I can't choose between a natural or C sec, got the option as I had an emergency c sec with DS

Our scan is 9.30am too so a nice early one!

Missingcaffeine · 24/04/2014 22:51

Sorry to hear your news Jemma. Wishing you strength to get through the hurt.
I've got my scan tomorrow at 9am. I'm only 18+5 today, so it's a early one as they ran out of appointments. I still haven't felt any movements yet.
I've struggled to sleep all week - I've been tossing and turning and then give up after so long and go downstairs and read. I'm not sure if it's pregnancy or new job or a combination.
My bump got me a seat on the tube today for the first time! :) Which would be good, but I still haven't told my new work team and thought I was doing a good job of hiding it with very select clothing - but maybe not! Bump is very obvious in certain clothes, but I think it's smaller than some of the bump pictures on here. I'm hoping the lady just offered me a seat cos I was kinda touching my bump and almost checking it out in my reflection?!
I keep getting cramp in my feet at night as well. Does anyone else get this? Are there any magic cures?
I also have a question about belly buttons - when do they pop out, and do they always go back in?

misog2000 · 25/04/2014 07:30

Dinah I'm planning a home birth and it's my first too, I'm lucky that everyone I have spoken to has been really positive, what are peoples reasons for trying to talk you out of it? Twosacrowd the midwives clear up before they leave, I wouldn't be quite so keen if I had to try and do that after giving birth! Grin

Sorry to hear your news Jemma, massive hugs to you and your family.

Good luck to all those having scans, mines 2.5 weeks always still as I'm due end of Sept so a while to go. No real bump here either but I'm really tall so think it's spreading upwards before outwards

whiteblossom · 25/04/2014 07:31

good luck to everyone having scans today, they are coming thick and fast now Grin

Ive just weighed myself...Ive gained a whopping 8lbs in total!! I nearly fainted. That's double what it was last I checked!

velvetlilithi · 25/04/2014 08:05

I'll have my second scan on 12 May, now I'm being 17+6. The first scan was amazing. My partner was almost crying how emotional he was about it. Excited to see our first baby even bigger.

Fabulous bump pics!! :) Enjoy your today's scan everyone!

ilovemonstersInc · 25/04/2014 08:28

How is everyone? Been in hospital since 10pm laat night with suspected clot. Waiting on scan and will have to start the injections at home too

HippyJess · 25/04/2014 08:37

Thanks whiteblossom and velvet. Trying very hard to stay excited here and not let the anxiety monster get me too badly... I get such bad scan nerves! Ugh at having to wait til 4.20...

ilove that sounds so stressful, you poor thing... Presumably if you're starting injections that should see it off? Still, not nice :( hope you're ok.

ilovemonstersInc · 25/04/2014 09:21

Good luck with the scan jess

yep if it is a clot it will be high dose if not then standard dose to keep them away.
Asked mw if I can pop out and she said let's see what time the scan is and will sort something out. Could do with a bit of retail therapy!

whiteblossom · 25/04/2014 09:47

oh god ilove that's sounds scary! I hope that's resolved quickly for you.
