Miskate · 03/04/2014 09:32

yes elliekins I have exactly this! Something else to (not?) worry about!

booksshoescats · 03/04/2014 10:08

Random - good luck with telling your DD - I bet she'll be thrilled. My mum and a close friend at work both have 8 years between them and their younger sisters and they are really close.

I was planning to wait till next week, after my next scan at 10+2, to tell DD, but I really do feel that all is OK, and a very close friend of mine is coming to stay this weekend and I'll be telling her and I just don't want any more people to know without DD knowing. Think I might see if DH wants to tell her this evening. What is everyone else with DC (of an age where they'll understand what's going on) planning to do? 9+3 today.

ElleOhElle · 03/04/2014 10:13

hello all, no internet access yesterday so just caught up on everything!
eating absolute crap - already put on about 6lb. have been eating fruit and veg but it's totally outnumbered by the amount of fatty or salty carbohydrates I've been consuming. wish McDonald's did a loyalty card Grin
booking in appointment tmw.

StudyFullTime · 03/04/2014 10:13

I wanted to keep it from my DS who's 4 but he asked me the other day if I was having a baby and he'd really like a sister Smile

So the cat is out the bag, I think they pick up on things quite quickly.

Greenstone · 03/04/2014 10:38

Well I had a small bowl of rice and stir-fried veg for dinner last night, followed by a massive bag of salt and vinegar crisps. Gross. DH is also highly amused at my first-trimester diet but he's definitely happy to join in the snacking with me I've noticed Hmm

9 weeks tomorrow and still only DH, me and the GP know. Just really want the next three weeks to hurry up. I keep meaning to start a preggo diary and then forgetting. I'm not planning on having any more children after this one (she says now!) so really it's a shame to be wishing the time away.

PosyFossilsShoes · 03/04/2014 10:47

Got my first hospital appointment today - just a booking in one. The letter does warn you that you WILL NOT have a scan.

Typically I forgot to wee in a cup earlier (you MUST bring a urine sample) so now I'm drinking a pint of naice squash (elderflower which seems to have a good effect on the nausea).

Whoever it was upthread who said McDonalds was the cure for ms - I haven't set foot in one for about a decade (went off it after a short lived vegan phase) but I had a Big Mac yesterday on the kill or cure principle, and it was the first meal I've had in a fortnight that didn't make me feel ill! I don't think I'll tell the midwife that though.

pinkgirlythoughts · 03/04/2014 10:55

Greenstone, I had a pregnancy diary with DS, nothing fancy, just a notebook I wrote in from time to time. I found it a really useful way of working through all the weird range of emotions I was having, and was fab for recording my birth story after he was born. I read it all on the evening of his first birthday, and had a little cry to myself :)

Tigsy · 03/04/2014 11:01

Does anyone (with more experience than me) know if we can expect our eating to return to a bit more like 'normal' after the first trimester? I've also put on 6 pounds and am only 8 weeks so worried about this trend continuing! I'm hoping that when the nausea subsides I'll feel less need to eat huge amounts of rubbish on a constant basis.

alita7 · 03/04/2014 11:05

hmm I think if I did a pre 12 week diary it would just be full of moaning and worrying... its all I seem to do these days :p

right I apologise in advance if I become even more neurotic/ panicky over the next week or 2 as I have mentioned my mmc stopped growing at 9+ 4 ans I'm 9 weeks today so any symptom loss and I'm going to freak out :/

blamber · 03/04/2014 11:07

The last couple of days I have had more spotting... should I go back to the GP? He told me it was normal last time...

alita7 · 03/04/2014 11:07

also forgot to say about McDonald's, the was really helpful until the 3rd or 4th (hangs head in shame) one when I felt 10 x worse after it. but then anything that works tends to only work for a bit until it makes things worse sigh.

ElleOhElle · 03/04/2014 11:09

tigsy, from what I remember, my appetite returned to normal after about 14 weeks although couldn't stomach bbq'd food for the whole pregnancy. I put on a stone by 12 weeks last time!!! last time I ate a lot of crap the whole pregnancy because I could!! and put on 3 stone - I'm hoping to be a bit more healthy this time round but I lost the weight last time so no reason why I wouldn't this time!!

Fergie11 · 03/04/2014 11:23

I've had my second scan this morning and it's not good news. No Hb or growth detected so they have diagnosed mmc. Wishing all you well in your pregnancies and I hope I'm back on this thread soon x

Greenstone · 03/04/2014 11:25

tigsy I was massively hungry for everything last time, but that included healthy food which I liked again after 12 weeks. I did stay addicted to fruit throughout but fruit is better than current crap!

You'll put on what you'll put on and you'll likely lose it all again eventually. I was only about 7ish stone when I got preg and I think I'd put on 3 stone by the end it sounds like a LOT but really it was all baby plus some fluid by the end. I was in my normal skinnies after about 10 days. A lot of people find that breastfeeding shrinks the uterus very quickly and this was certainly the case for me let's not mention the fact that breastfeeding also makes you stark staring ravingly hungry so there will be a return to the eating of crap--

pink, your diary sounds lovely :)

blamber is ringing GP a possibility? I am sure it's fine though.

blamber · 03/04/2014 11:25

I'm sorry, Fergie, really hope you'll be back soon

Greenstone · 03/04/2014 11:26

Oh Fergie just saw your post. Shit shit shit. So sorry that this has happened. Be very gentle on yourself with the next steps, whatever they are xx

Kairos · 03/04/2014 11:30

Hello ladies. I'm about 6-7 weeks pregnant, due in the second half of November. This will be my 3rd. My previous two pregnancies were, um, vile. I'm due to start throwing my guts up in about a week, although trying very hard not to develop Munchausen's about it. And eating well now ... getting green vegetables and oily fish down while they will still go down ...

Do we have a list? I feel a need to tag myself onto one.

Hope you're all doing well x

Tigsy · 03/04/2014 11:31

Fergie so sorry to hear your news. Make sure you take good care of yourself and hope to see you back with a sticky BFP soon xx

ElleOhElle · 03/04/2014 11:43

so sorry fergie Sad Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

ElleOhElle · 03/04/2014 11:43

welcome kairos Brew

twiglet2 · 03/04/2014 11:52

Hi Ladies, can I join?
By my dates I'm 6+6, so due 21st November but have to wait until the end of April for my booking appointment as we're away the week before Easter - so by then I'll hopefully be 10 weeks which seems ages away :( Was doing really well with the fruit and veg but this week the morning sickness has kicked off, I can't stomach loads of things I'd normally love to eat and I'm feeling sorry for myself as I have a nasty cold and non stop nausea.

booksshoescats · 03/04/2014 11:57

Oh Fergie, so sorry Sad. Look after yourself and hope you're back soon with good news.

blamber · 03/04/2014 12:02

Thanks, greenstone. I think I'll just see what happens today and go see him tomorrow. He just wasn't bothered at all last time.

alita7 · 03/04/2014 12:05

welcome guys!

so sorry fergie it's such a horrible thing to happen xxx

blamber nag your doc... If it's still going exaggerate a bit and get a scan!

Kairos · 03/04/2014 12:46

Thanks for the tea, Elle Smile
