Katies76 I had tendonitis right at the beginning & a nurse told me paracetamol was okay but not ibuprofen or anything like that.

Tigsy · 02/04/2014 21:18

I'm so glad it's not just me eating crap! I started off this pregnancy being super-virtuous and eating tons of fruit etc etc. Roll on a few weeks and I'm now eating chocolate fingers and hula-hoops for breakfast!!
I'm also of the opinion now that I'm just going to eat whatever I can stomach while this nausea hangs around.

ToonLass hello and welcome!

MammySam · 02/04/2014 21:19

Hey toonlass
Congratulations. I'm roughly 4 th so not far off you!
I was suffering with sore boobs and mild but regular nausea but its gone now :( don't like it when it's there And worried when its gone... Never happy!

bunnykitten · 02/04/2014 21:28

Urgh...cramps have suddenly started, is this normal?

Having told the midwife at the booking in appointment that I ate fairly healthily, I have to laugh at my current diet of bread, chocolate covered nuts and raisins, raw carrots and haribo. Haribo seems to be working really well for my nausea! But the nuts and raisins are giving me the runs, so I may have to change that!

I've gone off tea but am having a can of coke a day, so still well under the 200mg of caffeine. I had awful headaches without any caffeine and was constantly knackered, so I need that coke!

So jealous of the scans you are all posting. I don't think I can't wait for my 12 week scan, has anyone in Surrey (Woking) had an early private scan?

8+1

Tigsy · 02/04/2014 21:34

Actually feel like I've just redeemed myself somewhat as just eaten some mango! Definitely counteracts all the chocolate, crisps and the nandos I ate today! Grin

bunnykitten · 02/04/2014 21:37

You've inspired me Tigsy, I'm going to try to eat an orange (and not a chocolate one!)

Nessalina · 02/04/2014 21:38

I've got horrible cramps tonite, but I think I might just be a bit bunged up Blush Not enough fibre!!

And I'm all out of apples!!

It is difficult to tell if cramps are wind/ constipation/ diarrhoea or if it's uterine... if it is uterine it will probably be stretching. I'm not getting much that I think is uterine, just the odd twinge.

Dp put the new version of Carrie on to watch tonight- not really pregnant woman watching material in case any one is tempted :P (SPOILER ALERT) First mother gives birth and almost stabs the baby but decides not to and hugs it... then the girl is terribly bullied which brought me out in tears... then the at the end a pregnant teen has a dream she is giving birth and an adult hand/ arm comes out of her grabbing at her... thanks dp :P

alita7 · 02/04/2014 21:59

Tigsy be warned- I had nandos two weeks ago and spicy burn is much worse with pregnant poo!!! (or maybe its just harder to tolerate when you feel sick, tired and irritable!)

chirpchirp · 02/04/2014 22:01

I god I just scoffed two pieces of toast laden with Nutella and it was goooood.

bunnykitten · 02/04/2014 22:05

Thanks Alita - to be honest, the cramping could be any of those! At least it is normal!

Annarose2014 · 02/04/2014 22:10

I thought that your bowels only became a problem later on when you were huge, but already I'm noticing a difference. I still go as regularly as before, but now it takes aaaaaages.

Am already thinking about buying prune juice at only 9 weeks in! Anyone else finding it more difficult?

I don't know if its because of hormones or my completely stodgy diet!

Tigsy · 02/04/2014 22:17

Haha bunnykitten I'm fantasising about chocolate oranges now....

Alita it's ok I'm a bit of a wimp with spice so didn't go for anything too spicy! Really didn't enjoy it that much though.... The food aversion thing is rubbish for someone like me who loves their food so much!

Yes I'm suffering with constipation a bit as well but really only got myself to blame with all the rubbish I'm eating. Might go and be extra-good and round the evening off with an apple.... (Goes off to polish halo)

Amyrose82 · 02/04/2014 22:27

Feeling fairly virtuous after fishcake and roasted veg for tea - goes some way to rectifying my recent diet of toast, toast with Nutella and beans on toast! And I never normally eat bread! Although I did have two bowls if shreddies, two pieces of toast (!) and half a ahem chocolate orange earlier! DH had a tooth abscess and can only drink soup at the mo so finding it very difficult to be arsed making proper non-toast based food!

Had my booking in appt this afternoon - all seems a bit more real now Grin

alita7 · 02/04/2014 22:36

Everyone seems so into apples today- it's almost a trend!

I'm going to be radical and try and eat a banana!

Petal26 · 02/04/2014 22:52

Thanks greenstone and books

When I feel better I'm sure I'll have a coffee, I seem to be like a few others and more anxious second time around!

I don't want to go to sleep because I know when I wake up I'll probably be sick :-( I feel alright at the moment!

Tigsy · 02/04/2014 23:17

Alita I went for a banana instead of an apple in the end ..... Although that was followed swiftly by some Lindor chocolate Blush

MumaBex · 02/04/2014 23:17

Hello all. 9th Nov with DC3 here. Worst first trimester so far, been sick as a dog, but hungry at the same time. Been up since 5am, hungry sicky, came to bed at 10.30 and got same feeling. Just had toast and marmite, which seems to be the only thing in living on right now.

RandomInternetStranger · 02/04/2014 23:34

bunny I'm not far from you at all (between Guildford and Woking). I just had a private scan in Godalming for £60 at Mumas and Beans and it was well worth every penny. The woman was great and she gave me a DVD and a load of photos and some free sweeties! Grin

Re food I'm just permanently starving. Things taste funny but not bad enough to not easy them, but nothing is particularly enjoyable. I'm forcing myself to eat healthily and not have the coke and junk food but I am certainly craving it. If I let myself get hungry the sickness is intolerable so I'm eating pretty much whenever I'm awake! I have put on a lot of weight already and have a very noticeable bump now. Telling DD (& therefore the whole world!) tomorrow because I can't hide it anymore. So excited to see her little face! I can't wait!!! Grin

Re caffeine I hate coffee anyway so that's not a problem but I am addicted to coke and usually drink 2 litres or more per day and have 2-3 cups of tea, chocolate and energy drinks often, so that's been hard to stop, but I have, switching to 1-2 cups of decaff tea per day and one glass of coke per week. Also cut my sugar down in my tea from 3 tsps to 1.5.

Got a very big important and stressful meeting tomorrow morning for possibly 3 hours so not looking forward to that, but have telling DD to look forward to!! Grin I'm really nervous! I hope she is excited. Smile

alita7 · 02/04/2014 23:34

noooo Tigsy I have a box of lindor but they're for a friend so I can't eat them :(

someone mentioned getting stretch marks already a while back, well I seem to have the opposite (which is a brilliant omen I must say!) the stretch marks I have from puberty on my inner thighs seem to have almost disappeared since pregnancy... you can only see little silver lines if you stretch the skin tight.

Polkadotscarf · 03/04/2014 06:59

I can join the 'prodding your own boobs club'! They hurt so much last ewe and the past two days...nothing! Still feeling sick and so tired and emotional but I kinda miss the reassuring pain on my chest! I had an early scan at 6+3 and saw a heart beat but still so nervous! Haven't had a booking in appointment yet as there was a bit of a wait so worried it'll be more of a wait for the dating scan. I'll be 9+2 on first midwife visit, does anyone know how long it is usually before the dating scan?

BJZebra · 03/04/2014 07:46

I'm have some spotting now and period type cramps. I'm 8 weeks so it would be period time normally and the same thing happened at 4 weeks so I'm assuming it's Breakthrough bleeding. Doesn't make me feel any better though. I done feel like I have any pregnant symptons today only early period ones Hmm
Nothing to do but watch and wait......

Miskate · 03/04/2014 08:53

Polka - I saw the midwife when I was 7+2, and she immediately called the hospital and booked me in for my dating scan. The date they gave me was 3 weeks later, so I'll be 10+1 when I go. She said that they tend to book people in earlier for dating scans nowadays (?). That's Wales though, they do things a bit differently here I think.

Hooray for fellow crumpet eaters and boob pokers :D
BJZebra - spotting and cramps are fine as long as there isn't loads of blood and clots. I FREAKED out at cramps initially, but it seems to be one of those early prego symptoms that nobody ever mentions.

Elliekins · 03/04/2014 09:13

Every time I feel less nauseous I find myself pinching my nipples and am reassured that it feels like sticking pins in. Smile
I've had some cramps on and off and have decided to try not to worry about them as I'll be a nervous wreck, I'm not normally a worrier but everything is magnified 1000% times as I'm obsessing.
Lots of people seem to have had spotting and it's been nothing to worry about, but if you're really concerned then call GP/midwife about a scan or try your EPU directly, they seem to be pretty good about doing early scans if you can convince them that you're really worried and need reassurance.
Anybody else getting really sharp tummy muscle twinges when they cough or sneeze or stretch?
Even when I turn over in bed or reach my arms up, either side of my tummy it feels really tight (it's not!!) like I've done loads of sit-ups, (I haven't!) I'm guessing its just stretching pains but alarms me as there is a hell of a lot more stretching to do yet.
Eeeeek!
