Such sad news for you mxmum, I am just so sorry to hear that. Losing two babies must be extra horrible and scary :(

MrsWombat, what a lovely pic! I don't know how I'll last til 12 weeks. The worry is always there. Not feeling too nauseous today but felt crap last night - another sleepless one with multiple waking s from dd - and have a raging sore throat.

Dd asked me if I had a baby in my tummy last night Shock. Maybe she is full of woo after all!

Petal26 · 02/04/2014 12:48

Sorry to hear that mumof3 Thanks

Been sick for the first time this morning, feel horrible :-(
Gave in and told the teacher in the classroom next door in case I needed to run out (no TA's for us).
Was expecting it around Friday as I was 8 weeks last time I started being sick so hopefully it will stop 2 days earlier this time!
7+5

weeonion · 02/04/2014 13:00

Mxmum - so sorry to hear your news.

Thoughts to all of us who are struggling / suffering with rrange of issues.

Have made appt with doc re morning sickness. Its is totally whacking me. Have read up on meds that may be available but v reluctant to go that option (hate taking anything, even painkillers at worst of times) but MS adding to my mixed feelings.
I never realized the multi functional potential of Ikea bags to double as sick bags until my drive into work this morning!!
I've 2 weeks til 1st scan and then private CUBS / harmony tests on 28th. Roll on!

MrsWombat · 02/04/2014 13:09

very sorry Mxmum xxx All the best Thanks

alita7 · 02/04/2014 13:43

Just had a nap, couldn't stay awake...

mxmumof3 · 02/04/2014 13:50

It's 9 in the evening here in Oz.Smile

Amyrose82 · 02/04/2014 14:10

Sorry to hear that mxmumof3 - take care of yourself and hope to see you back soon with a sticky bean Thanks

Just at the docs waiting for my booking in appt with the MW!

8+0 for the moment...

Elliekins · 02/04/2014 14:40

'The baby hangover' is spot on, I constantly want hangover foods like carbs, coke, crisps and crap, am really having to force myself to 'enjoy' museli with flaxseed and wheatgerm and other alien (to me) health foods, lumpy fruit smoothies that make me gag and fish - bleugh!

I was really really lucky to have an early scan last week at 7w2d, ( I asked for various reasons and was shocked that they said yes) the difference between mine (basically like a shapeless monkey nut!) and Mrs Wombat's is just so incredible - couldn't see a brain cavity or budding limbs, it's amazing how fast they develop - less than a week but such a difference.
I saw those stats the other day Books but even knowing that, I've found that the early scan has bizarrely made me somehow more anxious than before!
Suppose it's now even more real and seems somehow even more precious to me now I've seen it and heard it - I'm welling up now, bloody hormones!!!
Chocolate with nuts in it is a health food, yes?

DilysMoon · 02/04/2014 14:46

Thanks alita it was a big relief and surprise as I'd convinced myself it was bad news. Hope you're feeling better today.

alita7 · 02/04/2014 15:02

Ellie is it really bad that I'm not really bothering with healthy foods as I'm just eating what I can... and sometimes that seems to be only 1 particular thing, but I have to go through many options to find that thing... on good days like yesterday I can do some veg so I had peas and spaghetti hoops (1 of your 5 a day!!) with my battered fish (the first meat or fish I'd had in days) and the day before I managed meat free stir fry with noodles, yet today I seem to be back to ginger biscuits and plain bread ONLY -.-
My thoughts are that I shouldn't force myself to the point of chucking up when all these foods make me gag... and surely the prenatal vitamins will give baby the important nutrients and any extra I get manage will be a bonus. I hope the vitamins will be enough anyway?

DilysMoon · 02/04/2014 15:36

I'm just eating whay I can at the moment as theres very little that I fancy, once the nausea has passed I'll get back to eating healthily.

ladydolly · 02/04/2014 15:45

I'm normally super duper healthy with my diet, low fat, salads and chia seeds, wholewheat and piles of veg. The last 2 weeks I've lived on crumpets and cheese sandwiches. I managed to force half a carrot and 2 spears of broccoli down me last night. DP is loving the carbfest, I normally sneak veggie into everything!

Can someone reassure me I'll get back to my normal diet at some point??

8+2

alita7 · 02/04/2014 15:56

Lady Dolly I'm normally the same- I normally love veggies and home cooked meals but not anymore!!!

I really hope we will go back to normal but it doesn't feel like I'll ever be able to eat normal food again- with my mmc I don't think I was anywhere near this bad, but there are certain foods I ate then which made me feel awful- like a lemon and salmon sandwich filler... which I still can't eat today- I can no longer do lemon with fish years later... so I'm worried that with so many aversions, that it will stick :(

Miskate · 02/04/2014 16:07

Hello, room for 1 more?
I am 8w+3, EDD 9th of November.
Very lucky to have conceived first baby on first month of clomid.
Shout out to ladydolly - I too am fully obsessed with crumpets.

Elliekins · 02/04/2014 16:18

Oh thank god I'm not the only one struggling with healthiness!
alita I don't think it matters enormously, as long as you're getting your prenatal vits and fluids, must be better to keep anything down that chuck up something you really don't fancy!
I have been lucky and haven't been sick but have been really nauseous since 4 weeks and saw an acupuncturist (I saw her TTC too) and after two sessions it's just really starting to improve (same principle as the Sea-bands) but still feel sick until about midday and I've eaten enough carbs!
Acupuncture isn't very cheap but I've saved a fortune on booze in the last 3 months and it's really helped!
Stupidly, when the nausea improves my anxiety increases so I can't bloody win!
I was a vegetarian for 24 yrs, acupunturist recommended I eat meat for my 'weak blood' when TTC, so I did everything I was told, but now finding it so hard as most things repulse me. Crisps and coke are the only things I want!
I had my first fish fingers in 20 years last night with chips and beans.
Had beans on white bread for lunch - that's 2 of 5-a-day?
Just eat what you can, my healthy breakfast is vile and is always followed by salt and vinegar Squares!
Sorry for massive post, too verbose!

Annarose2014 · 02/04/2014 16:20

Wow miskate, what a Clomid success story! Very exciting. How long have you been trying?

You'll all think me such a sap. The Bump tells me that at 9 weeks its the size of an olive. Today I was in Tesco and came across olives and actually stood there in the aisle, jar of olives in hand, marvelling at them! I practically got misty eyed! (And then put them back - I may never eat another olive again after picturing them foestus-sized!)

Then I went to the baby aisle and spent aaaages looking at all the formula - I'm going to try and BF but God knows it doesn't work for everyone so I wanted to see what the story is. I never knew the difference between Reflux milk and Comfort milk before! Of course then I started freaking out about reflux and colic so I quickly put them down again!

BTW, also have serious anxiety. So many of us having mcs. Frightening.

Elliekins · 02/04/2014 16:20

Hi Miskate, you're due the same day as me...now I want a crumpet desperately.

Elliekins · 02/04/2014 16:26

Annarose, glad I'm not the only anxious one welling up and weeping inappropriately. I fully wept over my poor fish-fingers last night, thinking they were the unlucky ones who got caught!
It's really inconsiderate of them to compare babies to food, especially healthy food, it's so off-putting!

Miskate · 02/04/2014 16:26

I've been poking my boobs all day as they feel slightly less sore than usual. I must look like a nutter.

re clomid - I had a bit of a nightmare back in September 2013 with the GP who wasn't interested at all, and told me to come back in June 2014 (!) I paid to go to a private clinic who were very helpful and immediately diagnosed PCOS, and gave me a week of clomid. Bish bash bosh, I am fo shizz up the spout immediately. Made me feel a bit of a tit as I'd been crying to my family and best mates for a month about my "infertility".

So there you go!

I had a scan last week at 7w+5 and the baby looks like a monkeynut (as effectively described above), so in awe of these early scans that actually look like people.

Elliekins · 02/04/2014 16:38

Miskate, I was in a very similar boat to you - had my fertility tested privately and was told that I had a ridiculously low AMH level for my age and that meant the ovarian reserve of someone in the mid-forties and it would be very hard to conceive, GP agreed and said IVF with donor eggs if not up-duff in 6 months - thus spent a hysterical month panicking about being infertile, getting boyfriend on board (he was hoping for 3 more years grace) trying to compensate for all the drinking and smoking and excess 'fun', did everything including hypnosis, reflexology and acupuncture, eating meat, every supplement under the sun; then it happened the first month of really trying - DP still in utter shock!
I consider my monkeynut a complete miracle!
Well done us!

WinterLover · 02/04/2014 16:57

re cramps.

Does anyone else find they come on when you're on your feet? Mine are okish till I get home from work and its chasing DS, cooking tea, cleaning etc and they get painful. Really hurt myself getting DS in the trolley seat tonight Sad

Had a big cry which made DS cry which made me cry even more.

Annarose2014 · 02/04/2014 16:59

My GP gave me a window of just two months to get pregnant before my issues came back - it was a bloody shock! I had thought I had about 6 months but noooooo! She referred me to the Fertility Clinic there and then!!!

I absolutely panicked, thought no way would it happen, I'm almost 40 FFS, was quite tearful, started researching fertility drugs, went into shagging with almost military grimness, already picturing the inevitable D&Cs etc etc ....and 3 weeks later I was pregnant!

Felt rather a fool then for all my dramatics, lol.

Petal26 · 02/04/2014 17:06

Annarose I would say (just going on my experience) not to buy anything until you need it. I got all the formula gear, bottles, steriliser, tin of formula etc and then didn't use it and couldn't seem to sell it on :-( So who knows how much money I wasted! But it is a sensitive subject so not suggesting anything, just passing on my experience!

I am definitely with everyone on the crumpet front, the only thing I can face in the mornings.

I might have to do some more research about caffeine and coffee. I have been looking at how many mg are in all sorts. Pre pregnancy I would have 4/5 cups of green tea and a large latte, with maybe a sneaky Dr Pepper a day so have definitely had to cut down! I was struggling with loosing my coffee, only have one a day and see it as a treat when I get in from work, but couldn't stomach it at the moment anyway. Have bought decaf pods for my machine but there isn't brilliant press about decaf either I don't think so will need to have another look :-(?
Before feeling this sick I was having my normal latte (some days) and having no other caffeine during the day which put me at around 150mg and I think we're allowed 200mg, is anyone else still having proper coffee? Something else to worry about!

ladydolly · 02/04/2014 17:13

Hurrah for crumpet lovers misskate and elliekins! They seem to really hit the spot at about 2am too...

Alita I'm totally repulsed by celeriac, had it the week I started to feel sick and think that will be my lemon fish. I don't think I'll ever eat it again.

Also paranoiafest over here, spent an hour last night reading about molar pregnancies before before bed. Ridiculous.

Roll on scan in 2 weeks.
