Thats good to know Catmine No, they didn't mention hcg levels. They have done a blood test and I have to go back on Thursday for another one and I will know more after that. The waiting is horrible.

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 19:50

Catmine?! Typo! Carmine

Fergie11 · 01/04/2014 19:57

thinking of you alpaca and alita, fingers crossed we all get positive news. The waiting is terrible, DH keeps telling me to stop checking the internet as he thinks it puts more thoughts into my head, hate to say but he's right but it's hard not too x

I think your DH is right Fergie I've just seen that you had a difficult day as well. How are you feeling now?

Thinking of you too, alita

I didn't ever think the early stages of pregnancy would be this much of an emotional roller coaster. My biggest fear was having really bad morning sickness and that seems so trivial in comparison to losing my baby.

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 20:10

Thank you Petra I hope your spotting stops soon.

alita7 · 01/04/2014 20:13

Yep the morning sickness is quickly wanted when you worry you'll lose your baby!

Fergie11 · 01/04/2014 20:13

I'm just trying to stay positive and believe that all is well until told differently...sending positive thoughts to my wee bean.

Totally agree about emotional roller coaster it's hell. I've been lucky with no real morning sickness but I'd love that compared to this x

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 20:17

Completely agree, would take all day "morning" sickness over this.

alita7 · 01/04/2014 20:19

I don't understand why I'm more worried this time, it's probably just more of the same, it's probably because I'm closer to when my last baby stopped growing I guess. But all I can do is cross my fingers and think happy thoughts.

CarmineRose1978 · 01/04/2014 20:34

They'll be testing your hcg levels with both blood tests to make sure they're increasing... A rule of thumb in early pregnancy is that they should double every 48 hours (up to a point). But there's a lot of variation in this, so unless they've barely increased at all, or actually decreased, it doesn't necessarily show very much, I think. Except that very low levels can be a sign of an ectopic... When they were scanning/testing me for this last week, they were pleased because my hcg was quite high which implied the baby was in the right place.

CarmineRose1978 · 01/04/2014 20:36

Of course, then I went online and discovered very high hcg can be a sign of a molar pregnancy so started worrying about that... Fergie, you're right, the Internet is a terrible place for worriers! My DP is always trying to stop me googling symptoms.

ElleOhElle · 01/04/2014 21:06

completely agree that I'd take feeling ill all day if it means baby is healthy. can't imagine what you're going through if you're having bleeding etc - think I'd totally freak out. sending positive thoughts your way ladies Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 21:21

That's good to know, Carmine thank you for explaining it! i think i was in a bit of a haze after the scan. They have said they will phone me on Thursday afternoon so fingers crossed for good news.

utopian99 · 01/04/2014 21:23

Sorry to hear about those of you with anxiety-producing issues, and hoping for good news all round. Am still feeling horrific 24/7 but marginally controlled by sea bands now. No idea how to hide them from my mother though - she comes once a week for a day with ds so I can work; I may have to take them off and tough it out..

random your SPD sounds awful! My friend broke her foot 6 weeks before her dd was born and it was a nightmare for her, although easier once her emoloyer let her work from home. Crossing everything you get an easier ride this time.

CarmineRose1978 · 01/04/2014 21:38

As an TMI aside, is anyone else finding that they get really bad cramps after orgasming?

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 21:44

I haven't let DH near me since I found out so I haven't got a clue! Blush

alita7 · 01/04/2014 21:49

I haven't had sex for since a couple of days after we conceives so no idea- but I did experience light cramps after touching my cervix earlier so it could be that? I've only orgasmed once or twice anyway (or maybe 4 or 5 times if you allow for totally different types) so unless pregnancy is my miracle orgasm maker (and I'm not going to know til after 12 weeks if this spotting keeps up- we were going to try sex last night but didn't feel up to it and then I woke up with spotting -.-) I doubt I'll find out carmine :P

WinterLover · 01/04/2014 21:55

carmine DPs not been near me since we conceived. I want to get past 12 weeks then we'll try.

barmybunting · 01/04/2014 21:57

Sorry to hear some of you are having a worrying time today. Thanks and I hope tomorrow brings some reassurance for you.

I'm impressed if some of you are managing to keep up sex in this process. DH is very tactile and huggy all the time, but I can't bare to be touched when I'm feeling so horrible so there's no chance of orgasms occurring here! I am feeling more crampy generally if I laugh or move quickly though so I think it would feel different.

Has anyone started producing an obscene amount of saliva recently? I can't get rid of it and it's making me feel more sick than usual which is just yuck! Today was a nightmare in the classroom as I had to disappear into the cupboard (thank god for walk in cupboards) to be sick twice during the first lesson and then attempt to carry on teaching after copious amounts of water. Thank god for the sick bags that DH appeared with from work the other day!

AlpacaYourThings · 01/04/2014 22:23

The worst symptom I have (not complaining though! Grin) is that I can't brush my teeth without gagging and retching.

weeonion · 01/04/2014 22:48

Evening folks!

I am sorry to hear of people's disappointments and sad news. Thoughts are with you...

Also - sympathy / empathy to all who are feeling under the weather physically and emotionally. Tisn't all blooming and glowing in the early days!

I had no MS with DD but gah - this is tough. I feel nauseous pretty much all day - not just in morning. (DP hasnt quite grasped this concept - he can be so literal!) Wink

I was delivering a full day training today and had to keep creating additional discussion points for them so i could disappear off to the loo to be sick. I feel so hungry but the thought of actually eating makes it worse. Poor DD thinks her mum has caught some kind of lurgy. I also share an office with one colleague so it is proving hard to come up with reasons to leave the room "just off to see if the post is in.... just off to see if our fire checks are up to date... just off for photocopying... just off to check i haven't left the lights on in the car etc etc"

Just less than a month left til we tell folks .... roll on I say....

RandomInternetStranger · 01/04/2014 23:05

Yes to cramps after orgasms! I've not had sex as I'm single but don't think I'd have been up for much if I was with someone. I have played solo gigs maybe 3 or 4 times per week and yes I get cramps after and I did with DD. In fact with her as my uterus grew I remember feeling my belly going really hard to touch after an orgasm. But apparently orgasms feel like massages and hugs to the baby so it's fine to carry on. Grin

RandomInternetStranger · 01/04/2014 23:07

barmy YES!!! My god I'm drowning in the stuff! Literally! I mean I have choked myself very frequently (at least once per day) with it going down the wrong hole.

RandomInternetStranger · 01/04/2014 23:15

The other symptom which has changed is my skin. A few weeks ago my skin was glowing and massively improved - yeah that's not happening now! I actually had to stock up on Clearasil Ultra wipes and face wash, Freederm gel, Clean & Clear lotion, oily skin masks, and half a dozen other things because I look like I've just been dunked in a vat of baby oil and caught small pox. My usually very dry, sensitive skin has gone ultra oily, really spotty and not at all reactive to anything other than natural super calming cleansers and creams. It's not just my face but my neck, shoulders, chest, back, boobs, even my tummy. Sad I look 15 and on only the 2nd time in my life that I have boobs I can't show them off because they're polka dotted!!! Sad Not enjoying that at all!
