catnap so sorry. I've been where you are a few times - give yourself time to grieve over it - don't rush back to work etc. It can take a while to sink in.
I hope you'll be back on the antenatal threads soon.

Take care Thanks Thanks

WheresMrMonkey · 31/03/2014 20:48

Hello...... A bit late to the party. But may I join in? 9 weeks pregnant with DC2, due Nov 3rd. Booking in on Wednesday.
So pleased to find people to go through it with. Feel so much more anxious this time around, like I just know a lot more bad things??

WinterLover · 31/03/2014 21:14

dam you OBEM im now sat eating scrambled eggs Grin

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 21:27

ooh winter - I was just thinking the sane thing!! looked sooo good - might have to buy some muffins tomorrow Grin

HRMumness · 31/03/2014 21:38

catnap so sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed for next time.

Welcome to all the newcomers and congrats to Avery on your scan.

barmybunting · 31/03/2014 21:39

catnap I'm so sorry to hear what you experienced last night and the follow up news from your scan this morning. Look after yourself and take your time to get back into day to day life. Sending you a hug and Thanks .

barmybunting · 31/03/2014 21:47

Avery pleased to hear your scan went well.

random that sounds confusing about the scan dates. Did the lady say why she thought you should book soon?

Can I check what you are all taking re vitamins? I was taking the seven seas ttc ones as they were nice and small and I can't handle big tablets. Having finished a pack, I bought some of the seven seas pregnancy tablets and they are massive!! I will never be able to swallow them so I need to find another option. Does anyone know of any small tablet options? Is it only folic acid and vit D which are an absolute must at this stage? I'm wondering if I can just get ones which include those.

StudyFullTime · 31/03/2014 22:02

I'm taking the seven seas ones, not really bothered about pill size, I have smaller folic acid ones that I found but wanted to combine vit D with the acid.

marzipan81 · 31/03/2014 22:23

Thanks so much! Just getting my head around this preggo thing and mumsnet thing!

WinterLover · 31/03/2014 22:24

im taking sanatogen ones and 800i.u vit d and calcium for a vitamin d deficiency

marzipan81 · 31/03/2014 22:33

I'm taking the pregnacare supplement my gp recommended this one

Giraffeski · 31/03/2014 22:38

I'm taking the sanatogen ones and also Floradix tablets as I have a tendency to get iron deficient later in pregnancy so I thought I would start building up my stores now!

Tigsy · 31/03/2014 22:45

Barmy yes vitamin D and folic acid are the only ones specifically recommended. I take high dose folic acid because of a medical condition and I couldn't find any pregnancy supplements without folic acid in and didn't want to take too much. I only take folic acid and vit d supplements. Careful if you but vitamin d supplements as I initially bought the wrong dose, but then found the 10mcg ones in boots!

WinterLover · 31/03/2014 22:50

agree with tigsy watch the dosage. Mine is prescription so I know thats ok for me

alita7 · 31/03/2014 22:51

My asda ones are big too- you don't need anything extra but I'm glad I'm taking it all considering how little food of any nutritious value I'm actually managing to eat :P I need to pop to the pharmacy and get some proper vit d just read my packet and the asda ones only have 5ug of vit d3.

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 23:00

Pregnacare Max here.

Re scan she told me that the nuchal test has to be done before a certain date and that when I'm booked for mine I'll be over 13 weeks so presuming 14 weeks is the cut off. She was pretty insistant but don't know if she would be like that with everyone and recommend the scan to everyone, or if she saw something she was concerned about but couldn't tell me.

Regardless here is my little gummy bear. 9+2. Smile

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 23:05

By the way Pregnacare Max are 2 huge green ones plus an Omega 3 capsule per day so avoid if you don't like tablets! But if you want them Tesco sell them for 19 per pack, Sainsbury's are 15 per pack & Amazon are 11 per pack!!!

Tigsy · 31/03/2014 23:20

Random try not to worry. I imagine it was more that she was conscious that your scan was at the 'later' end of the 10-13 week timeframe and if you did want to partake in screening you might miss out if it were any later. I imagine that was why she said it rather than as a result of her having seen anything concerning. Cute picture too!

Giraffeski · 31/03/2014 23:43

I have felt a little bit better today, not been sick at all. hoping it will continue!

alita7 · 31/03/2014 23:43

Aw random that's amazing- such a big development change from when I had mine at 6 +5- in just 3 weeks it looks so much like a baby :P

I would think like Tigsy says the problem is probably due to a. being close the cut off point and b. you're an older mum so stats are higher- so she is probably just thinking that its very important to get in there on time. I can't imagine you can see anything indicative at 9 weeks!

nickiswiss · 31/03/2014 23:44

Had my early "reassurance" scan... Saw a tiny bean and a strong heartbeat, very excited!! Then the car broke down on the way home, 4 and a half hours later, 4 wee's on the side if the road and hungry hungry... And hone, but def worth it!!!woohoo!!

Nessalina · 01/04/2014 00:05

Hey ladies.
I'm lurking. Still feeling weird, but much better than I was, thanks for all your supportive messages Smile
I'm currently freaking out about some epic stretch marks that have arrived on my stomach Shock Surely it's too early for that!!
Barmy, I've just carried on with Seven Seas 'Trying for a baby', because a) I have loads having bulk bought when there was a sale on, b) they're small and make me less yacky, and c) they do say that they're suitable for early pregnancy and they have all the usual goodies in them, so I figured why switch?

ladydolly · 01/04/2014 03:31

3.30am, just munching a crumpet and trying not to throw up. Up most nights with morning sickness, very annoying. yawns

Hope everyone is sleeping soundly :)

barmybunting · 01/04/2014 06:20

Thanks for your replies about vitamins. I'm either just going to have to get on with taking the massive ones or go back to the seven seas conception ones. I'm awful with tablets, if they are too big they often make me throw up which is not a brilliant combo with morning sickness!

nickiswiss that sounds like an interesting trip home! I'm glad your scan went well.

ladydolly morning sickness in the middle of the night must absolutely suck! Does it often wake you up?

nessa glad you are feeling a bit more like yourself.

random that makes sense about the timing of your scan, it does sound she was just making sure with the dates.

Polkadotscarf · 01/04/2014 07:14

Ha ha elleohelle have you not heard of them??? Much worse than hurty ones! (Darn auto correct!)
