Urgh woke and went to loo and more pink spotting and pinky red cm... bloody freaking me out. I went 2 weeks without any! I'm not cramping but I've got a similar uncomfortable hot feeling as last time I was spotting.
Should I call the midwife?

DilysMoon · 01/04/2014 08:47

Worth a call alita I've had more brown then dark red then pink yesterday and back to brown again this morning, had another scan arranged for Friday so they've brought it forward to tomorrow Sad

Can I just ask, might seem a daft question, but what do they class as spotting? Is it literally just some spots or when you wipe or is it needing a pad but not as much as a period, I've never quite figured it out.

alita7 · 01/04/2014 08:56

I'm not sure really. I had pink tinted wee on the paper when I wiped. I know I'm not supposed to but I wanted to know how much was in there, had a quick feel in there and at first I couldn't find my cervix (no joke I thought I was actually dreaming for a second) and anyway took my fingers out and there was pink/ red tinted cm. Sorry for Tmi. So Yeh I'd call tinted wee and maybe even tiny drops on knickers spotting.

I called midwife who said It was probably extra burrowing/ implantation. But to call my doctor anyway, I left a message for him to call me back after surgery at about 11.30.

DilysMoon · 01/04/2014 09:02

Fingers crossed for extra burrowing then, I hate these first 12 weeks its so cruel!

alita7 · 01/04/2014 09:07

Now I am getting some cramping and electric twinges (though have had these befoee). I hope yours is ok Dilys! I really want to sleep through these 3 1/2 weeks!

Then again, everything in life that I've reslly wanted so far, I've had to work hard for or go through a lot to get... This seems to be no different.

Tigsy · 01/04/2014 09:08

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you Alita and DilysMoon.
I agree these first 12 weeks are horrible- anxiety-provoking and it still doesn't feel real to me. I told my best friends last night and I feel like a fraud for some reason- I suppose it's because I don't look pregnant....

DilysMoon · 01/04/2014 09:13

Thanks Tigsy and alita fingers crossed, I'm a bit niggly with the odd shooting pain yesterday and dull low back ache but that's the same as when I had a bleed last week and all was fine at that scan, they couldn't even see evidence of a bleed so am hoping this is similar.

DilysMoon · 01/04/2014 09:14

btw am 7 weeks today so another 4 weeks of this (hopefully!)

ElleOhElle · 01/04/2014 09:17

fingers crossed for you alita and dilys.

feel rubbish this morning so nauseous - seabands don't seem to be doing anything today. come on 12 weeks hurry up!!! Sad Sad Sad

ladydolly · 01/04/2014 09:27

barmy yes most nights I'm up for at least an hour, a carby snack normally helps but I'm not even hungry so it's weird rummaging around the kitchen in the dark like overeaters anonymous.

random I am SURE she was being extra efficient and wanted to make sure you got your scan in the right timeframe, they see so many people and a lot of the time it becomes about proper admin and paperwork rather than people, she's just making sure the right process is followed. (I nearly said stop worrying but that would be a waste of time right?? :))

Elleohelle seabands are the only thing that works for me, I have to adjust them if they're not working but most of the time takes the edge off. Also elderflower cordial seems to calm as well. I guess it's different for everyone.

alita and dilys fingers crossed for later, sounds like more of the same and you just need some reassurance, glad you'll be getting it. For what it's worth I call spotting anything less than needing a tampon/pad.

PosyFossilsShoes · 01/04/2014 10:49

Well, I had a new low today, ladies. Found myself puking into a Metro newspaper at Oxford Circus tube station (could I have found a more public place?) I then arrived at work with about two minutes to go and a nice person kindly told me I had black newsprint smudges on my nose and chin. Blush

For anyone caught in a similar position, Metro newspapers are utterly inadequate for the purpose!!

PosyFossilsShoes · 01/04/2014 10:50

Random that is a lovely little gummy bear!! It looks so much more real in pictures for some reason...

chirpchirp · 01/04/2014 10:51

Will be thinking of you guys alita and Dilys.

One of my work friends is moving to another team today. We had agreed to go out for lunch ages ago and I already said I would again this morning when she confirmed numbers. Just found out she's booked the local Indian and I am really worried about my nausea at the smell of all those (usually delicious) spices and herbs. The thought of throwing up curry later on today is not inviting either!

Greenstone · 01/04/2014 11:01

OMG Posy! That's just awful, so much so you almost have to laugh!
Must have felt ultra-grim at the time. Hope you at least feel better after the puke.

alita and dilys, really hope it's just a random spotting event.

Up all night again with DD :( Exhausted is not the word.

ladydolly · 01/04/2014 11:12

Oh posy!! I'll stop with my moaning about midnight snacking to stave off the nausea, you poor thing!!

chirpchirp · 01/04/2014 11:25

Oh Posy I feel for you, I really do! I did however have to stiffle a laugh

Perhaps we could start of list of unsuitable recepticals to vomit in?

alita7 · 01/04/2014 11:28

Chirp seriously tell her you're feeling unwell and ask if you can go somewhere less currying!

Posy that is hilarious!

Greenstone is dd always like this or do you think she's picking up on you being pregnant in some way?

Btw guys I won't tell you when you spotting stops incase it reappears but will say when it's still there.

Not feeling particularly sick today either which worries me but it's probably coincidence ans ill probably be moaning about it again tonight :p

Greenstone · 01/04/2014 11:36

alita it's because we're in the middle of potty training Confused. Her brain is fried, she keeps waking herself up convinced she has to go, so we have to make repeated futile trips to the loo. She was just getting upset with herself really. She has the days down great but it's like she can't relax at night! And she's only 2.2, too little for proper night training really. Not sure what we've gotten ourselves into! Hopefully it will settle. She was a great sleeper before this.

Actually, to those with children/stepchildren -- do you think the kids have picked up on your pregnancy at all? I was secretly hoping that dd would come across all woo and start making references to it as you hear happens sometimes with little children. She hasn't though!

I'm still feeling like a fraud -- no puking at all for me yet. Not even feeling that bad today either.

alita7 · 01/04/2014 11:45

Oh yes I remember reading about that now and giggling :p the opposite to our problem with dsd (has some learning disabilities and still needs pull ups at night) she just doesn't wake up even with her alarm :p

DSD knows me and daddy want a baby at some point but she hasn't asked for an update :p she did come up to me and put her hands on my belly and then hug me yesterday but she's very touchy feely and it was sticking out :p other than that she's just been a bit more argumentative.

Tigsy · 01/04/2014 12:19

Random I think I remember you saying that you found your gummy bear's heartbeat with a doppler. I've just ordered an angelsounds one but worried I'm going to regret it, if I can't find it etc and it makes me anxious! Any tips for trying to find it? How early did you find it? I'm only 7+6 so probably too early anyway, so might try and hold off trying for a bit.

RandomInternetStranger · 01/04/2014 12:30

OMG puking into the Metro! So funny but sorry you feel so bad! I remember my cousin having to keep a bucket & towel in the car because she was puking so much. Touch wood I've not actually thrown up at all with DD or this gummy bear, I just feel sick all the time and dry heave a lot. I wake in the night needing the loo and more food but not to be sick thankfully. I find seabands fantastic for really easing it but also GinGins sweets, Seaband roll on pulse point stuff and eating.

Spotting I'd call any blood of any shade which is lighter than a period.

DD hasn't said anything and doesn't seem to have noticed but she has got a lot more grabby with my boobs and the other week she even pretended she was a baby and grabbed one to pretend suck on through my clothes. I joked that she'd get the shock of her life if they suddenly started working!! I've been talking to her a lot about her friend's new baby brother and how lovely it would be to have a baby brother or sister, I always wished I had a little bro or sis, wouldn't it be nice to have a sibling etc. I'm telling her Thursday at a lunch with my parents because it's getting too noticeable now and I don't want her to hear it from someone else. Then it's going public once she knows. Grin

I'm feeling OK but I still just generally feel rough, just not right, just meh. Nothing really specific, I seems to constantly have a flutter in my chest like my heart is a strobe light, seem to constantly feel my blood pumping in my head and face, constant very slight headache, constantly a bit sick, constantly a bit tired, everything aches a bit, nothing feels just OK, everything is slightly off. Bleurgh. Can't wait for it to pass and just feel well again! 9+3 today so not long to go.

RandomInternetStranger · 01/04/2014 12:48

Tigsy is this your first DC? Be careful with it, there are so many weird sounds and things. It's hard to explain without showing you but I'll try!

OK start low down in the middle just above your public bone and move up very slowly. At 7 weeks your uterus is still very small and low. Explore side to side very slowly. The heart is so tiny at that stage it is really hard to find and has to be in the exact right position to pick it up. Either side of your uterus you have an artery which will give a really loud heartbeat, but it's your beat, your heart is half as fast so check your own beat on your chest first so you know how slow it is. Baby is twice as fast and not nearly so loud, it's very quiet at that stage. At 7 weeks I would find it once every 5 or 6 attempts. Now at 9 weeks I find it about 50% of the time and it's a bit louder. In a couple of weeks it'll be far easier and I'll get it every time and much louder. It sounds like a little train or galloping horses.

When baby is bigger a whooshing sound is them moving their arms and legs. A high pitched squeal is bone. A slow beat which isn't your arteries is the placenta pumping to the baby (according to my scan my yolk sac is disappearing now and the placenta has just kicked in the last week or so so I'll start picking up on that soon).

Good luck with it, I love mine but don't worry if you canâ??t find it yet, even midwives don't bother looking for a few weeks yet as it's so hard to find. And once you can find it easily don't rely on it to tell you baby is OK, if you ever think something is wrong or you've not felt kicks for a while don't let finding the heart stop you going to the hospital. It is lovely to have though and I recorded DDs heartbeat and 8 years later I still like listening to it on my computer now & then! Smile

Tigsy · 01/04/2014 13:02

Thanks Random. Yes first DC. When it comes I think I might put it away for a few weeks and then have a try as I know I'll only get worried if I can't find it.

Fergie11 · 01/04/2014 13:17

I had a scan last week but I measured only 6.1 rather then the expected 7.4. A heartbeat was found but I was told it needs to get faster
I am trying to stay positive but can't help worrying about what will be found at scan on Thursday. Does anyone know if this is common when your scanned early??
