Elle don't worry- I've had premonition dreams but I've also had silly pregnancy related dreams that mean nothing- and they are normally more literal than yours and indicate what is happening at that time if they are real. So if you had a early labour dream at 30 weeks, you MIGHT wake up in labour, if you were me and my dream theory is correct but if nothing happened for a day then it would just be a silly dream- basically I don't believe in premonitions in the traditional sense but I think you can dream about what your body subconsciously knows is going on right now. But that's just in my experience for me, so if you had a miscarriage dream tonight, it might mean you were just anxious about mc or that you'd seen another post on her about it so it was in your mind.

My examples of what happened to me:

MMC- dreamt that when I went to the loo in my parents church toilets the whole room filled up with blood- I was approximately 9- 10 weeks. At my scan at 13 weeks baby measured 9 + 4 with no heart beat.

While ttc a couple of the months I dreamt I was bleeding a few days before period was due- a warning I wasn't pregnant?

This pregnancy- I had 2 dreams before my BFP one of 3 positive tests lined up, 1 of my Mum telling me I was pregnant.

But I have also had silly dreams that either I know don't mean anything or I know don't. I dreamt at about 5 weeks that I was passing huge black clots- I started lightly spotting a few days later but at 6 +5 had a lovely scan showing a baby with a heartbeat measuring about right. I also dreamt of getting a positive test at the doctors about 6 months ago, which I obviously didn't have. I've also dreamt of being in labour or of finding or not being able to find babies and of dressing little babies or of someone taking a baby away from me and of having various toddler aged children with me, usually a girl, a couple of times twins. All of those dreams weren't real.

SO yeh sorry for the rant but thought I should explain myself properly to you Elle :) Don't worry, not everyone has dreams which either are or they think to be meaning something real and if it was it would probably be more literal- ie you'd see a baby that you knew wasn't growing or that didn't look alive or something. I don't want anyone to read my post and worry about a dream they've had- everyone is different and just because I've had dreams, coincidence or not which indicate reality doesn't mean you will :)

Sorry to hear your sad news catnap xx

alita7 · 31/03/2014 15:02

I'm so sorry Catnap, you'll be in my thoughts xx

ladydolly · 31/03/2014 15:10

Big hugs Catnap, take care of yourself and hope to see you back here soon! xx

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 15:16

thanks alita for explaining - I wish I could stop worrying!! Confused

alita7 · 31/03/2014 15:27

Elle it's totally understandable- I worry about every single thing :P

Any one else getting random pulsy pains in either boob which goes on for about 15- 20 minutes?

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 16:03

I gave up and went for a private scan today. Grin All is well, one little gummy bear in there, perfect size, strong little heart beat, wiggling away happily. She did say one thing which I think I am over thinking here but she was asking when my NHS scan is & I said not till the end of the month & she started checking dates & looked a bit concerned. She said "hmm that only gives you a couple of days". (?) Then she said to make sure I go to that one and do not cancel for a later appointment, that will be my last chance to get the nuchal check for Downs, and that maybe I should even request an earlier scan to make sure I get the nuchal scan, because it has to be done by so many weeks... Doesn't help that all the way along I've had a feeling baby is perfectly fine but something is not quite right and that last week I had a dream about Downs, then Googled (stupidly) and saw the difference in rates at my age now compared to when I had my daughter. I mean in all honesty it makes no difference to me, whether the baby has Downs or is disabled in some way, I would still be keeping it and loving it just the same so really there's not an awful lot of point me finding oht, but did make me wonder if she was trying to tell me something.... But then again she could have just been advising as a matter of course and my dream & feelings are neurotic coincidence! Grin My dreams are absolutely insane lately and given the others I've had I really don't think I need to pay much attention to them. Grin

Tigsy · 31/03/2014 16:05

CatNap so sorry to hear your news. Take good care of yourself and hoping you are back with another BFP soon. X

Northernexile · 31/03/2014 16:08

So sorry catnap, take care of yourself over the next few weeks, and best wishes for next time Thanks

Amyrose82 · 31/03/2014 16:20

So sorry to hear that Catnap - take care of yourself now and really hope to see you back here soon with a happy BFP xThanks

chirpchirp · 31/03/2014 16:25

So sorry to hear your news Catnip. You are certainly dealing with it with the right attitude. Doesn't mean you're not allowed to fall apart a little too. I hope you get good news again soon.

I tend not to pay any attention to my dreams but that's probably because when pregnant with DS I dreamt on a regular basis that I was giving birth to a kitten, a tiny clown and freakiest of all an arachno-baby (head of a baby, body of spider). My head can be a scary place when I'm asleep.

Pandamom · 31/03/2014 16:37

Hi, I'd like to join this group...
40yrs, first pregnancy Smile with partner 48.
Due Nov 12.
West London.

alita7 · 31/03/2014 16:43

Random did she say how far you measured? Sounds like a silly question but maybe she means because you measure big and doesn't want you to miss the window? Or maybe it's simply because you're an older Mum and she's basing her worries on statistics. I doubt you'd be able to see anything nuchal wise at 9 weeks or they'd do the scan earlier?

Welcome Pandamom.

Chirp that dream sounds absolutely awful! Very creepy! I was annoyed that the dream I had in which I was dressing a little baby was very gender neutral and the genitals were all blurred :P

StudyFullTime · 31/03/2014 16:54

Anyone else's boobs look like a roadmap? I have some lovely veins criss crossing mine and I've gone up a whole cup size, am only 7 weeks Shock

PosyFossilsShoes · 31/03/2014 16:54

Feeling majorly sorry for myself today. After a weekend with no ms to speak of, I woke up at 5am feeling sick and it's only just starting to go. And I have a ton of work to do and all I want to do is crawl back into bed and sleep forever. Meh.

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 17:02

alita she said I'm spot on for dates and agreed with my calculations (there was only one day it could possibly have been!) but she did seem adamant that I had to make sure I had the nuchal scan. Great, that's going to be the stress du jour from now on!

Petal26 · 31/03/2014 17:30

Sorry to hear your news catnap Thanks

Had my booking in appointment today, well was supposed to...
The receptionist only booked a 15 minute slot (new receptionists apparently) so I have to go back next week for a longer slot. On a positive note the midwife recognised me straight away from 2.5ish years ago and was very chatty so felt really personal Smile

So sorry to hear that catnap Thanks

AveryJessup · 31/03/2014 18:38

Just checking in with the news of our positive early scan Grin ! So lovely to have that first hurdle out of the way. Many more to go of course but at least I now know that things are starting off well. We heard a lovely strong heartbeat, saw the little guy/gal floating around in there and got all our appointments set up for the 10 week blood tests and 12 week scan etc. Phew!! Breathing a sigh of relief here... I feel I can finally get excited now

Tigsy - my DH is the same, has a flu and had D&V last night. He got up this morning, having slept in the spare room, and said 'I feel awful, had D&V all night' and the first thing I said was 'stay the hell away from me then!!' [heartless cow emoticon].. obviously I have since been more sympathetic but that was my immediate reaction Hmm. My OB-GYN said that colds and flus are fine as long as you don't have a high temp and D&V is unpleasant but not a risk to the baby. Still desperate to avoid any bugs though!

catnap I'm sorry you had bad luck this time around. Fingers crossed you will get another BFP soon with a good outcome.

8 + 0 (so due on November 10th, scan moved my due date forward a little)

AveryJessup · 31/03/2014 18:40

Ha - just realised I am back in line with you, Nessalina. So we have the same due date again!

BJZebra · 31/03/2014 18:48

I'm sorry Catnap.

Polkadotscarf · 31/03/2014 18:49

Oh catnap, I'm so sorry to hear that, please take care x

I've been stupidly emotional today and cried at school (work!) had to confess to another teacher as I'm usually the cool and collected one! Just got too much with the hurry boobs, back, legs and tiredness! Felt very sorry for myself and am so thankful it is all going to be worth it!

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 19:13

polka what are hurry boobs?? Grin

Fergie11 · 31/03/2014 19:45
