Hang in there Catnap, 11.30 could bring good news. We all have our fingers crossed for you.

8 + 0

Tigsy · 31/03/2014 09:15

CatNap sorry to hear this. Will be thinking of you at 11.30.

Not a fun night for me last night. Hubby was up constantly from 3.30am throwing up. Eventually at 5.30 I went and slept in the spare room, but had no sleep. Think it must be a virus as I cooked for us and my parents yesterday and everyone else is fine. Now paranoid that I'm going to get it too. It was the first time I was pleased to get out of the house and come to work on a Monday morning just to get away from the germs!!

Is it unsympathetic to text and ask him to bleach the bathroom before I come home later?!!

Northernexile · 31/03/2014 09:23

Morning all, good luck today CatNap, and hope you don't come down with the bug Tigsy- that on top of early pregnancy would not be fun. Random, your symptoms sound like when my hayfever or dust allergies kick in. Do you think it could be anything like that? Although I'm not even sure if you can take antihistamines in pregnancy, can't remember what I did last time.

Horispondle · 31/03/2014 09:45

Urgh first puke of the pregnancy this morning Confused DD was terrified and crying 'Don't be sick on me mummy!'

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 10:29

thinking if you catnap - hope 1130 brings good news Thanks Thanks Thanks

felt ok when I first woke up but just started feeling rotten again - always about 10-1030!? Confused

chirpchirp · 31/03/2014 10:55

Thinking of you catnip and keeping my fingers crossed.

Just checking in. Hope you all had a lovely mothers day. My nausea and sickness still hasn't disapated any. I don't expect it to. Last time I was still being sick at 39 weeks so I'll more than likely feel like this for the foreseeable. I'm still getting a lot of stitch type pains, cramping and occassional sharp pains. I have my booking in appointment on Friday so will let her know and push for an early scan, miscarried in November so feeling very anxious which probably isn't helping matters.

DH and I have now been talking about the possibility of moving house to a bigger place. I'm emotional at the best of times about moving as I did it alot as a kid and as a result didn't have a hugely happy childhood. When I moved out of a flat that I hated in my twenties I was still lying on the floor crying about leaving. Don't even want to think about what state I will be in we move while I'm pregnant, even if we move into our dream house I imagine I will still be a wreck that requires to be scraped off the floor.

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 11:11

Northern I was thinking it could be an allergy but I'm in the same bed, room, sheets etc as I have been for 5 years, with the same cat I've had 18 years, and it doesn't happen if I go to bed in the day time or when I wake up and doesn't matter what time I go to bed, it happens like clockwork even night, late, whether I've been in bed 10 minutes or 3 hours. It's very strange! I wouldn't take anything for allergies unless it's a real serious reaction, I like to face them and put up with it & build up a natural resistance, but this feels like a cold. Oh well! One of the many weird and wonderful oddities of pregnancy! Grin

Greenstone · 31/03/2014 11:25

Morning everyone.

Catnap fingers crossed.

Nessalina how are you doing today? Please be kind to yourself, it is totally normal to feel incredibly low and anxious during pregnancy even in the most straightforward of cases. You've had a really traumatic road here and it must be so hard trying to make sense of everything, on top of first-trimester grossness. Flowers

HRMumness oh yes some nights I still have to rock 2 year old DD to sleep, if she's had a cold or something. Actually I've found that since becoming pregnant she feels so much heavier, or maybe I just feel more weary!

Speaking of which: we have been toilet training all weekend. Went cold turkey on nappies basically and it's been a real success so far; maybe it's been a little bit too successful -- she spent all night calling us to say 'I need to sit on the toilet!' So DH and I were up and down with her all night and I am EXHAUSTED. This morning DD is back at her CM's and I'm worrying about how she's getting on! We skipped the potty altogether and went straight to the toilet which suits her much better. I hope there haven't been too many accidents. Those of you who've been through potty/toilet-training: if you have words of wisdom I'll gladly receive them!

Trying to remember who else to namecheck...weeonion, I think it was you who said you were having mixed feelings about the pregnancy -- please don't feel like you can't contribute to this thread, all feelings positive or negative are welcome here as far as I'm concerned anyway. In real life things are never just black and white and although I so wanted this baby, I'll admit that I'm an incredibly selfish and introverted person who really values her own space and am already wondering how on earth I'll cope with another smallie into the mix.

Greenstone · 31/03/2014 11:28

Oh, and chirpchirp the issue of buying a new place (we currently rent) could well come up for us too but if it's going to happen it wouldn't happen until well into the pregnancy. I think it would send me doolally. DH and I have agreed that no matter what we're going to do a huge crackdown on clutter this year so that if and when we move it as painless as possible yeah right

alita7 · 31/03/2014 11:38

Cat nap thinking of you and hoping that scan shows something positive!

Elle, the only option is cleaning my teeth, anything else lingers contributing to the taste.

Chirp chirp I want to move now but our contract doesn't end until a week before I'm due!!

The nausea has majorly stepped up a notch... last night was awful!

Amyrose82 · 31/03/2014 11:59

Thinking of you catnap and hoping for positive news Thanks

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 12:11

alita - I'm the same with brushing teeth - have been chewing gum which helps but if I chew for too long it brings on the nausea!!
are you using the wrist bands to help with the nausea - mine has definitely improved since I started using them - still get really bad nausea at times but doesn't seem to be as often

chirpchirp · 31/03/2014 12:24

Thanks Greenstone and Alita. DH thinks we should wait a year to give us time to save more to throw at the deposit and reduce the loan amount and I completely see his point. However it means he would have to give up the room he uses as his office and as he brings home work most eveninings it would result in him being a grumpy shitbag having to make do with the kitchen table. It would also mean moving with two kids in tow and the possibility that DS1 will have just gotten settled in nursery having to move him. I think we should just do it now while I'm still earning and still able to be useful re packing and moving.

alita7 · 31/03/2014 12:43

Yes I've got sea bands and I'm not 100% sure of how helpful they're being, my nausea is worse recently but maybe I'd be hugging the toilet without them...

Chirp remember it might happen as quick as you'd like and could take you months so I agree that you should start now!

Greenstone · 31/03/2014 12:49

by the way marzipan81 -- just noticed you there, congrats and welcome! You've joined, you don't need to do anything else :)

Thinking of you catnap x

Elliekins · 31/03/2014 13:06

Hello ladies, very excited to be joining the group, I had my booking appointment today as I'm 8 weeks - Valentine's Day conception, what a cliché!
Had an early scan last week as had previous MC and there was a tiny flickering heartbeat - suddenly all feeling very real!

RandomInternetStranger · 31/03/2014 13:17

Starting to get very cross that after 4 mcs, a difficult pg with DD, 5 years of infertility to get DD, being classed as an older mum and high risk and having a few health problems including ones which could affect the baby I've not been offered an early scan - they've put me on consultant led care instead of midwife led so why no scan?? OK so I've found the heartbeat 3 times on my doppler so I know all is well but they don't and I can't help but think they're being a bit negligent here! Angry

Elliekins · 31/03/2014 13:40

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that, that surprises me too.

I would be a pain and keep on asking or try to see a different GP?
I had to ask for it and there were a few reasons why I wanted it - one was because I'm a nanny and the child I care for exposed me to both hand, foot and mouth disease and scarlet fever between weeks 4-5 so I was really paranoid especially as I'd had a fever myself.
I really didn't expect them to say yes, my doctor said it was unlikely but that she would look into it and then she came back and said it was fine and I was booked me in.
It just goes to show that there is a real difference depending where you are, I live just outside Windsor.
How far along are you able to hear it on a Doppler?

alita7 · 31/03/2014 14:13

Random is it the principle that they haven't bothered the problem or is it that you really want one? if so nag nag nag!

I booked my scan today for exactly 12 weeks :) So I'm glad I got in there quick as the earlier the better for my mmc anxiety. My baby measured 9+4 last time at 13 weeks so do you think if I become really anxious they'd allow me to have one at 10 weeks as well? It seems unlikely to me but right now I feel fine in terms of that, mostly because of how rubbish I feel physically, BUT if like last time I end up getting a dream around that time or my symptoms subside a bit then I'm going to be freaking out big time. So yeh what are the chances of them letting me have one at 10 weeks for reassurance? (I haven't asked them as I felt lucky to have my 6+5 scan)

Giraffeski · 31/03/2014 14:19

Random- I'm getting something very similar, my nose, throat and sinuses all feel like they are swollen, but only seems to be at night! I did wonder if it was the start if hay fever and I took some Prevalin Allergy nasal spray last night before bed which did seem to help a bit to be honest.

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 14:32

alita - what do you mean by a dream??? I had a dream last night that I gave birth early but that the baby was ok just very small. scared now that means the baby has stopped growing!!! Sad

Catnap1 · 31/03/2014 14:53

Thanks for all you good luck messages but unfortunately this is not my time. Feeling ok sometimes these things aren't meant to be. I hope to be on here again soon so will pop in to see how you are all doing. Good luck with your pregnancies

ElleOhElle · 31/03/2014 14:55

oh no catnap Sad so sad for you! best wishes for you for next time Thanks Thanks Thanks
