That does seem early could they have it wrong and mean booking in appointment or do they mean that's when you should call up and book it? I have to call up and book my scan on Monday when ill be 8+ 3 but I certainly don't have the scan then :p If you do have one then, you'll still need one around 12 weeks for a nuchal check so maybe you're just lucky and get an early one too :)

Tigsy · 26/03/2014 19:11

Seems early to me too. I suppose the worst case is that you go along for the scan and they scan you and realise it's too early and then you have to go back for another one!

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 26/03/2014 19:12

It says it's for a combined scan and dating appointment but I don't mind having an early scan. As I have pcos the dr thought I was further along than I was when I later went to EPU for a scan.
When is booking in appointment normally done?

Giraffeski · 26/03/2014 19:14

Hi everyone, just trying to catch up as I haven't posted for ages. I have midwife appointment tomorrow!

MrsY87 · 26/03/2014 19:26

Been feeling nauseous again this afternoon and now feeling exhausted so symptoms seem to be back. These first few weeks are so hard...my anxiety seems to have gone through the roof worrying about symptoms being there or not!

Fx for you likeaboss and glad to hear things are seeming more positive amylou.

alita7 · 26/03/2014 19:41

just keep holding on guys not long til 12 weeks, only 4 weeks for some of us, actually those right at the beginning only have about 3 weeks left eeep! can't wait to feel less sick and less anxious! I'm going to end up having a heart attack with all this worrying! I've been thinking how do you manage to have more than 1 child, it's so stressful and traumatic getting pregnant then getting through the first 12 weeks, I used to want 6 kids (mental!) now I don't know if I could handle a second! I can see why my mum had a 6 year gap...

also anyone else so so so thirty?

alita7 · 26/03/2014 19:42

*thirsty

bunnykitten · 26/03/2014 20:27

Wow this thread has moved quickly!

Bit worried that at my booking in appointment the MF didn't check for a heartbeat, do you think that is normal? It would have given me some reassurance as I still don't know whether this is all in my head!

Getting fed up of the constant nausea and wind!

7+1

annatha · 26/03/2014 20:47

I had my booking appt. yesterday, the midwife didn't check for a heartbeat at mine. She also didn't manage to take any blood either because she couldn't find a vein so I've got to go back to have it taken from my hand by a nurse next week Confused. How did everyone else's go? To be honest I found it bit of an information overload, I've got a million leaflets to read through.

I'm also looking and feeling about 5 month's pregnant, my work trousers haven't been buttoned up for the last couple of weeks and I've just got this huge tummy sticking out. Suppose I'd better get used to it!

Tigsy · 26/03/2014 20:47

bunnykitten I don't think they routinely check at booking for a heartbeat. It's very hard and time-consuming to try and find it so early on for them. I don't think they tend to routinely try until much later on.

annatha · 26/03/2014 21:16

alita7 I'm constantly thirsty too, I drink plenty of water but I keep waking up in the middle of the night with a dry throat. I've found that crunching on ice helps, I've also been making slush at work by blending ice with lemon cordial Smile

Fergie11 · 26/03/2014 21:31

likeabossthoughts are with you for tomorrow.

Due to being at a fertility unit before bfp I had an early scan yesterday where I thought I was 7.4weeks however baby only measured 6.1weeks. Heartbeat was found but it wasn't as fast as it should be so I have to go back on the 3rd to make sure heart beat is faster and baby is growing. Nurse said she wouldn't have scanned me so early so trying to stay positive heartbeat speeds up and baby grows

AveryJessup · 26/03/2014 21:31

Same here on thirst annatha and alita. Woke up this morning and my mouth felt like sandpaper. I'm trying to drink as much as I can but then of course I have to pee every 20 minutes so that doesn't help!

It does seem normal for symptoms to come and go but it's worrying. If it's any help to people, when I had an MMC the symptoms actually changed whereas with my son I had the same symptoms all the way through but they did come and go from one day to the next.

In the mornings when I wake up I don't feel pregnant at all, for example, I just feel completely normal, apart from being a little tired. Then around 3pm, it all kicks off. I start to feel nauseous, tired, bloated, kind of dizzy, sick if I'm hungry but sick after eating too etc. Some days I feel completely exhausted like I have the flu, other days I feel fine. So ups and downs seem to be OK. Worrying though... am counting the days until my scan!

It's on Monday so only 5 days to go... First time around when I had an MMC, I was told the pregnancy stopped developing at 8 + 6 so I'm so glad to get a scan early at 8 weeks because that period of the pregnancy was really stressful for me second time around with my son. Fingers crossed for all of us!

AveryJessup · 26/03/2014 21:31

Good luck tomorrow likeaboss

Nessalina · 26/03/2014 21:31

I'm thirsty but nothing tastes nice... Tried orange juice, cream soda, alcohol-free beer, decaff coffee, dandelion and burdock, squash... Nothing satisfies! On bottled water at the moment which is ok. Usual tap water is bleurgh.
Just sneezed and got a pain like id been kicked in the guts Confused I too have had no top button on my work trousers this week. Feel so fat!
And I'm an emotional wreck. Cried for like 45mins at work this morning for no good reason Blush

Actually, I tell a lie - APPLES are my new favourite thing. All crunchy and thirst quenchy Smile Morrisons do Fuji apples and they're awesome.

chirpchirp · 26/03/2014 22:05

nessalina last pregnancy I lives off apple juice and ginger ale, equally parts with loads of ice. And after pregnancy a generous measure of dark rum in the mix is heaven

blamber · 26/03/2014 22:32

Oh no. Just had some pink spotting and my cervix felt open. Sad See if I can get an appointment at the GP or epau tomorrow. Crap.

AveryJessup · 26/03/2014 23:06

Apple juice diluted with fizzy water is my current fave, Nessalina - it might be a good option for you if you like apples?

alita7 · 26/03/2014 23:27

blamber pink is Ok and so was red in my case! I'll cross my fingers for you as well let us know if it gets worse.

I'm finding that problem Nesselina only with food instead, I can drink most things but not milk really, annoyingly... but with food I seem to cross something off my edible list every day I'm running out of things to eat!
list of good things seem to be:
prawn sandwiches????
mcDonalds but NOT the milkshakes
ginger nuts
crisps
rice
mushrooms
bananas
plain crackers
plain bread
and I keep craving various microwave meals but refuse to indulge due to the plastic and alleged mc risk... except today when I just had to give in but once should be ok right!

Every thing else seems to slowly be proving itself inedible :(

barmybunting · 27/03/2014 05:00

It has been a very long night tonight! I was feeling ok about this scan this morning until I went to the bathroom last night to discover bright pink blood. Enough of it to call it bleeding and not spotting. Still going on this morning. Thank goodness the scan is this morning!

blamber I hope it has stopped for you and you get to see someone quickly!

Tigsy · 27/03/2014 07:17

Good luck with the scan barmy hope all is ok.

Blamber hope all is ok for you too.

Northernexile · 27/03/2014 07:17

Good luck today barmy and likea, hope things go well. blamber, hope you get good news too! hopefully your epu can check you over quickly.

Had a good nights sleep for the first time in a few days last night, my 2yo was good to me! I still had to get up for a wee though, that's driving me mad! Still only 5+5 and feel like I have known forever. Don't think my scan will be till May Sad

pinkgirlythoughts · 27/03/2014 07:36

Good luck to those having appointments today, hope all is well for you.

CarmineRose1978 · 27/03/2014 08:10

I've been having sharp cramps pains on the lower right hand side of my abdomen since Monday... I called my doctor Tuesday afternoon, and she said I should got the A&E. They saw me straight away... They took a urine test and said that I had white cells in there, so it could just be a urinary infection, but that they couldn't rule out an ectopic pregnancy, so I have a scan this afternoon. I'm only five weeks today, so I'm worried they won't be able to see anything!

Also, they took my hcg levels, and they were quite high - the doctor seemed quite happy because she said that is a good sign that it's not ectopic, but stupidly I did some googling and now I'm worried that it's either a molar pregnancy or downs. It was 14,000 at 4 weeks, 5 days. Or it might have been 1,400 in which case I'm worrying about nothing. Argh!
