I'll speak to DH about working at home. The problem is, I'd need to access the system remotely and we're not set up for that yet. There is literally nothing I can do if I'm at home at the moment, apart from filing and a bit of marketing. We're also in the middle of one of our busiest periods so it's just non stop. I feel really dizzy today and of course I'm thinking "It's because there is toluene being used in the workshop!!" but in reality, I think it's just pregnancy symptoms and no breakfast as I felt too sick to eat

I think the midwife is at our surgery on Thursday afternoons so I'm hoping for a phonecall today. I don't want to bother her but I think I'd like some reassurance. I have to keep thinking that nail technicians are exposed to toluene every single day (there is toluene in nail polish) and they're in small buildings with their nose fairly close to it and they can't just stop working straight away.

I was going to leave work early today but I have a meeting at 4 that I'm not prepared for so I think I'll get my head down, work hard and try to stop thinking about it!

Penis Dragons
Not that I am trying to avoid writing this essay even tho the deadline is on Monday I have spent a very happy time googling Penis Dragons and laughing. Thanks.
May I join you ladies? The Dec thread is very serious ATM. I'm so early on in my pregnancy that it might not come to anything - I'll deal with the serious stuff when I think its going to go to term.

hi - chillychicken - did you get a call from the midwife?

chillychicken · 10/04/2014 17:50

Hi ffallada No, I didn't get a call today. The receptionist did say it might be a few weeks before they call.

I've had to tell my business partner today and I've sworn him to secrecy but I had no choice really - I needed to discuss the plans going forward and obviously all is a bit up in the air now. Thankfully, he was thrilled I had it in my head that he was going to be twatty about it

Shattered today so going home soon and planning on putting pjs on and sleeping on the sofa for a bit!

htbftm · 10/04/2014 20:36

Planning on telling my 3 grown up children Easter Sunday at 6 weeks. I know the risks tll 12 weeks, but if the worst happened then I wouldn't want be able to hide that from them anyway, so figure they should know. Also, gave up wine for lent, so thy re definitely going to start asking questions after Easter lol! Also planning on telling my boss after easter, so we can start planning for next year, and in case there are any contagious diseases round!

sazzlehopes · 11/04/2014 11:32

Hello all newcomers! WONDERFUL that the penis dragon bus is filling up now. I prefer it on here because its nice to have such a mix of dates and edd etc. The other month buses move far too damn fast for me and are a bit serious at times, and occasionally a bit competitive. And I really loathe all that stuff!
So to those early peeps having cramps, like barmy I did too, and did do for quite some time. Think all is ok as long as the cramps aren't also coupled with red blood. Otherwise try not to worry. Those early days are so odd and stressful! It's lovely having a special secret but so hard not to be able to share it too!

PolytheneGirl · 11/04/2014 16:59

The smell of my own urine is making me want to vom! And I'm having to pee every half an hour! Lucky me!

Thanks sazzle when did your cramps stop? I woke up convinced it was all over this morning! Thankfully not!

Officially 1 day late today! Feeling a little more real now.

sazzlehopes · 11/04/2014 17:18

I can't really remember Poly...maybe after a couple of weeks, but very on and off. I'm afraid knicker watch continued for me right up to my 12 week scan. I even did a preggo test that morning to check Blush

PolytheneGirl · 11/04/2014 17:24

I'm still doing a hpt every morning at the moment. DH thinks I've gone bonkers! I can't wait for my scan.

PolytheneGirl · 12/04/2014 20:48

I am so exhausted! How are you all coping? I have no idea how I'm going to keep this little bean a secret for another 8 weeks. I've spent the day with family and it has been a nightmare. Had SIL telling me about how her and DB are planning on ttc#3. She will go mad when she finds out!

Just to add to my exhaustion I lay in bed wide awake trying desperately not to be sick until 3am. I just don't remember feeling like this this early on last time, or even at all.

Oh and we're at a christening tomorrow and I'm def going to have to wine dodge!

Littlebear81 · 13/04/2014 09:59

I felt really tired yesterday afternoon and feel very bloated but luckily not sick yet. Pretty sure I'm only 5 weeks so hoping that doesn't kick in next week!

Had a night out with friends where I drove so think people are already suspecting but we get a lot of comments of 'when are you to having a baby' so I'm used to it!

MundayCakes85 · 13/04/2014 11:34

I also had the period pain feeling, think it lasted about a month, the bloating lasted about the same as well. Unfortunately the tiredness lasted all through the first trimester. But don't worry it's all for a good cause!!
Maybe you could dodge the wine by driving Poly?
16 weeks and starting to get a nice belly now, still more eaten a pie than brewing a baby dragon Smile

PolytheneGirl · 14/04/2014 20:57

Everyone ok? Still cramping, yawning and sore boobed here!

sazzlehopes · 15/04/2014 12:42

I found saying I was hungover usually meant I could get away with nights out for a while!

barmybunting · 15/04/2014 16:14

That's a good one to get round drinking sazzle. It feels like a constant, horrendous hangover as well so it's a pretty apt excuse!

How are you all feeling?

It's been a beautiful sunny day here, I've been visiting friends for a few days but I will be so glad to get home tonight as I just want my own bed! Thankfully morning sickness seems to be abatting a bit for me this week. Booking in appointment tomorrow with the midwife.

I hope you all have some time off over Easter? Does anyone have anything nice planned?

sazzlehopes · 16/04/2014 09:38

Thanks Barmy, feel fine, but I'm lucky and haven't felt anything really from day 1. Have my 16 week appointment with the midwife thursday so hopefully I'll get to hear the heartbeat for the first time - exciting!
Hoping this lovely weather stays here for the weekend, my brother and his wife are down at the weekend so that'll be lovely to see them as they don't live nearby. And she is preggo too - due just a couple of weeks after me!

GingerRodgers · 16/04/2014 09:54

Lovely to see lots of new bfp's! Such exciting times!

Wrt cramps, I found they were on and off until 12 weeks ish but then they turned into round ligament pains! There's no relief from the worry during pregnancy or after but that's a whole other thread

Dd and I have been so sick the last two weeks. Finally I think the bugs are going and we are feeling better!

Morning sickness is finally settling too, about bloody time. Havnt been sick for a few days and the nausea is getting less and less. Seem to have a bit more energy too.

Tempted to buy a few bits from the asda baby event tomorrow- talk me out of it!! I like the look of the playmat and bouncer so I'll talk to dh tonight and convince him suggest they might be a good idea. Need more nappies and wipes for dd anyway so I'll be ordering whatever we decide.

sazzlehopes · 16/04/2014 10:30

Thought we ought to update the baby dragon due dates...there is a list floating about but it doesn't show whether dc1,2 or 3 or more etc so lets start a new one now. Copy and paste and add yourself if you want to. Should probably be db - dragon baby, not dc!!!

sazzlehopes dc2 edd 27th September

PolytheneGirl · 16/04/2014 14:42

Hi ladies. Nothing new to report here. Just adding my stats. I hope your all doing ok and enjoying the sun. Don't dorget to slap on the factor 30 preg give sunburn isn't fun!

sazzlehopes dc2 edd 27th September
PolytheneGirl dc2 edd 18th December

sazzlehopes · 16/04/2014 15:21

Last pregnancy I tanned much easier than I normally do which was pretty good. Be interesting to see if hormones work the same again!!

Littlebear81 · 16/04/2014 19:37

Hi gang,

Went to drs today to get referred to the midwife. Feel more excited now I've been able to tell someone! I'm officially 8 weeks but as my cycles were long before I'm more likely to be 5-6. He's recommending I have a dating scan in 2-3 weeks' time to get an accurate due date. Can't believe how quickly that will come round!

My stats at the moment are dc1 edd 24th Nov (likely to change to around 6th Dec)

I feel a bit guilty that I'm feeling fine when you're suffering. DH keeps reminding me I might feel differently in a matter of days/weeks. I'd like a feel more symptoms to make it feel more real but am thankful really. The dr said to me "you've missed a period and tested positive, therefore you are pregnant!". Made it seem so simple but doesn't stop the worrying!

Zermatt · 17/04/2014 06:36

Herro penis dragon ladies!

I too rode the penis buses and have just got a BFP on Wednesday, probably about 4 wks along so super early days. Have been having cramps on and off and occaisonally feel nauseous in the afternoons, and me babbers would make Dolly Parton proud, but other than that feel pretty good. Due date is 23rd Dec if all goes ok

Zermatt · 17/04/2014 06:37

P.s we go on holiday tomorrow, for 6 nights involves a couple of flights and a sailing trip, so I haven't been to the doctors but will go when I get back.

Zermatt · 17/04/2014 06:38

Oh and it's DC1 for us :)

Treaclepie19 · 17/04/2014 08:10

... Hi ladies, I think... I have my bfp! Just lurking for now til it's more real :) hope you are all ok!

PolytheneGirl · 17/04/2014 10:09

Tentative Yay for Treacle!!!! Congratulations!
