Hi poly and treacle, sorry the early days are dragging. I couldn't believe how slow the first 8 weeks went it was so painful not knowing for sure everything was ok. I had to avoid the other antenatal boards for a while as so many people were paying for early scans I thought I was missing out on something! But really, not even an early scan will change the outcome, so as hard as it is, better to sit tight and think that every day passing is a good thing, and the more weeks you tick off the better chance there is that you won't mc. I know it is easier said than done though!!!

PolytheneGirl · 21/04/2014 17:52

Thanks Auntie Sazzle how are you?

Poor you with your hip pain Munday! I hope you have swapped with DH and he is now rubbing your feet!

I miss the ttc thread so much! It's so quiet over here. I keep reading the ttc one but feel a little out of place there now, like they won't really want to keep hearing my blabberings, so I keep my messages to general chit-chat and congrats. What I'd like is for them all to hop on over here and keep us company! All upduffed together!

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 18:06

Hi everyone! Did you all have a good Easter?

I don't know where the last two weeks have gone. They have taken ages, but I am mourning the fact the Easter holidays have passed and I have to go back to work tomorrow Hmm. It has been so much easier being off! Still, I'm pleased to have reached 10 weeks over the weekend, double digits is lovely to see! Counting down to scan in 2 weeks and need to tell work on Wednesday.

How are you all getting on?

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 18:27

Thanks sazzle :)
Just started crying at your post poly. I miss it too lol
Still posting on there way too much.

Just been to asda. First had to rush to the toilets as pants felt wet (sorry tmi), nothing there.
Tried to walk round and was too exhausted. Went to pizza counter to order and they were closing. I gave the poor woman such an evil look... I'm normally super polite!
Now at home with a quilt. Hopefully all good signs but I did worry it was scarily like intense pms.

Oh no barmy, I've only had a week so far. Glad I've got another with how I'm feeling now. How exciting that you're 10 weeks now :) hope all goes well with your scan :)

Littlebear81 · 21/04/2014 18:29

Hi everyone & welcome to the newbies!

Still very few symptoms but technically I could only just be 6wks so hoping it's because it's early days. Told my parents last week which was exciting and apparently my mum had very few symptoms with my brother and a lot of ms with me.

Definitely share being bloated with you all and have occasional cramps and slightly sore boobs. Fancying salty savoury food rather than sweet but not sure if that's just me overdosing on Easter eggs! Other than that and afternoon tiredness I feel ok. DH keep telling me to appreciate it whilst I can!

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 18:59

The early days are very slow and a bit scary! The tiredness and other symptoms are all good signs Little and Treacle! As much rest as possible is the way forward I think! Have you seen your gp/ midwife yet?

Treacle, I still get that feeling that makes me rush to the bathroom to check at least once a day, apparently you get increased discharge when pregnant so it is normal. Enjoy your next week off Smile.

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 19:01

Thans barmy, the tiredness has increased day to day. Today I just feel like I have the flu. I've had a cold anyway but with how tired I am I'm completely out of it.
I can cope with it all if this little bean sticks around :)

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 19:07

Flu is exactly how I would describe the tiredness treacle. Then added to that the world's worst hangover which won't go away when the morning sickness hits! It's all worth it but hard to remember that some nights :). Especially when the silly lady in the shop is closing when you want something, I know that feeling :).

I'm still being sick every day which is going to be great fun at school but I am trying to tell myself it will magically go away tomorrow. Either that or I am going to dress my cat up as a penis dragon and send him to school to teach my class instead of me tomorrow, they will never notice Wink!

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 19:31

Glad to know it's all normal! Yeah I'm finding I get so nauseous when I'm hungry. Only 4 + 5 as well :/

Haha that's a brilliant plan! A very cute image :p
I hope your sickness keeps away for you.
I'll only be almost 6 weeks when I go back to work. Going to be hard to hide it.

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 19:32

Oh and no I haven't seen my gp. I'm going tomorrow :) only seen the out of hours gp at the moment.

barmybunting · 21/04/2014 19:44

I hope you get on ok at your gp tomorrow! Let us know how it goes. Hopefully they can reassure you about the spotting.

Hopefully it'll be a quick term for you and the nausea doesn't hang around for two long. I took to sucking mints all day in class or eating disgusting sweets called gingins and that seemed to help during the day for a while, hope you can find something that helps before you go back!

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 19:59

I will do, thanks barmy :)
While I'm waiting for food I'm finding ginger biscuits and extra strong mints help!

PolytheneGirl · 21/04/2014 20:25

You girls know how to deliver! I have a moan about how quiet it is and you all start chatting away!Grin

Good luck with going back to work Barmy I hope the job is going well. Are you the one doing Mat cover? I think I may have baby brain already

Treacle I didn't mean to make you cry Thanks sorry. I've just had a massive melt down because I realised yesterday morning FIL cooked us breakfast and I ate a dippy egg without even batting an eyelid! I have literally just sobbed my heart out about what a terrible mother I am being already Sad

LittleBear it sounds like you have plenty of symptoms! sore boobs, tiredness, bloating, cramps.... I think that's a full house!

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 20:33

Haha that's ok poly, I'm just extra sensitive today and found it hard not feeling able to talk on there.

Aww don't worry!!! 1 egg won't hurt. I was just thinking about the amount of things I has that I shouldn't before I found out I was pregnant!

PolytheneGirl · 21/04/2014 20:41

Treacle of course rational me knows one egg probably won't hurt but crazy pregnant hormonal me is sure it's the end of the world. I have just been plain horrible today. I've got to pull myself together! I'm sure all this isn't supposed to start till 6 wks!

Good luck at the GP tomorrow.

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 20:46

Haha well I'm not even 5w yet and I'm a complete mess!
Thanks :)

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 20:58

OBEM time :) first one since I've known I'm pregnant :)

MundayCakes85 · 21/04/2014 21:14

Poly runny egg yolks are one of the best food going. So I did a bit of research- it's to do with getting salmonella. This is mainly found on egg shells. All lion stamped eggs come from chickens that are vaccinated against salmonella. Also as long as the eggs are within date you have a really really low chance of getting sick.
Since then as long as the white is cooked properly I am happy.
Hope that makes you feel a bit better x

PolytheneGirl · 21/04/2014 21:20

Munday you have just made my day! Mwah!!

Treaclepie19 · 21/04/2014 21:35

Hehe very useful to know! :)
Is it really normal to have this many symptoms this early? Think DH thinks I'm making them up. Worst thing sitting at the moment is pain in my arms and shoulders. Think its just cramp and fidgets but shoulder pain worries me obviously.

Zermatt · 22/04/2014 06:41

I know how you feel Poly, I was on automatic pilot on the weekend and ate a soft poached egg and only remembered when I'd finished and then panicked about it. I live in Australia and the advice about what foods to avoid seems to be stricter here than in the UK. On the NHS website they say things like feta and cooked ham etc is ok as risk of listeria is so small, however in Aus they say they are a definite no no. We've just been on a cruise (sort of our honeymoon), we found out I was preggers 2 days before we left. All the food on the trip has been feta cheese, cold meats, etc etc, so hard. Have been avoiding. My only symptoms now are incredibly sore and larger boobs, tiredness and diarrhea (sorry if tmi) :(

PolytheneGirl · 22/04/2014 07:55

Oh no Zermatt it's such a struggle. I ate a lot of some salami the other day too but I'm my defence I didn't know about it and I'm sure cured meats weren't in the list last time!

You'll never guess what DH has done this morning. Apparently at 6:15 I moaned something about needing more sleep so he called into work and is going in late! I woke up at 7:30 in a panic and he was sat playing quietly with DS in his bedroom. #1 husband!

Zermatt · 22/04/2014 08:06

He sounds like a keeper :) that's very sweet. My DH isn't too enthusiastic yet about the whole baby thing, he wants to have kids and was ready and keen to try, but he takes a while to warm up to things, luckily he now has 8 months of warming up time!

I am sure the salami is fine, I also had smoked salmon on Saturday (with my runny poached egg) and then read on the Aussie health website that you shouldn't eat that either if pregnant, but NHS says it's fine, so have decided to follow NHS guidelines. When are you due Poly?

Treaclepie19 · 22/04/2014 08:14

Aww poly, that's so thoughtful :)

zermatt, it's all so contradictory isn't it?

Got a doctors appointment at 15.40 :)

Zermatt · 22/04/2014 08:50

Good luck at the doctors treacle, are they doing a blood test, fingers crossed for you :)
