Hello, just seen this thread. Can I join you? Had the dating scan on Monday, which puts me at 12 weeks yesterday and an edd of 25th September. Will be cs #3 for me though so is likely to be extracted a week or so earlier. Have just got the test results, which puts the downs risk at 1:4965 - think that's pretty good for 35! Have been really worried about the scan and am quite relieved, lack of symptoms, not even inflated boobage (although maybe as have just stopped bf dd2?). Poor dh has been v. patient with me.

Am definitely going to find out the sex. Dd1's first question was about whether she'd be having the top bunk in the bigger room with dd2 (if a boy) or a high sleeper/desk combo in the smaller room by herself (if a girl). Priorities, priorities!

You'll have to copy and paste the link into your browser x

CumbrianExile · 14/03/2014 17:02

Hey Ladies.

We wont be finding out the sex either. But soo many people are asking already! I might just make a badge haha.

I have also noticed more people at work asking how I am and being more concerned! Part of me appreciates it, but a little part of me is getting annoyed. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Fairypants · 14/03/2014 17:30

I've noticed much more obvious comments at work. We're a small and informal office so everyone feels they get to question if I'm allowed tea (til I told him its decaffinated). Also a comment on how I'd had some questionable wardrobe choices the last week or so before I told them (I was living in big jumpers to hide the bump despite sunny weather) and lots of general q's about pregnancy. I don't mind as it is also normal in my office to ask the two unmarried-but-living-with-girlfriends guys when they will propose so its clear we just don't have any boundaries!
I got a fab pillow from mothercare. It's like a straight body length pillow but articulated so you can adjust/bend it around yourself unlike the ones with a fixed bend which might not suit everybody.
I had a good pregnancy eve yesterday. Took dd1 to badminton and went swimming whilst she was there (no breaststroke legs). DH cooked dinner whilst we were out then volunteered to give the dog his last walk so I got straight into the bath for a soak (with bath bomb and jets!) and was in bed by 9.30, lights out by 10. Twas greatGrin

Oooh thanks for the link Missbrightside. Am definitely going to get one! Looks so comfy!!! Grin

Now that everyone at my work knows cumbrianexile, and given that it's a hospital and you work different shifts with different colleagues each day, I reckon I have to answer the following questions to various people several times a day:

  1. How far along are you?
  2. Are you going to find out the sex?
  3. Do you want a girl or a boy?
  4. When / how long are you planning on going on maternity leave for?

Don't get me wrong it's lovely that people are interested, and I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, but I will admit to getting bored of answering the same questions constantly, so no, you're not the only one who finds it annoying.

P.S. Sounds like an awesome evening yesterday fairypants!

weebairn · 14/03/2014 17:46

Haha - get used to that Kitkat, you'll have it for a looooong time :) There aren't really any other questions that people ask!

This is why I'm considering not telling work for a good while yet!!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/03/2014 17:52

CumbrianExile · 14/03/2014 18:33

KitKat Yep, those are the questions I answer daily. Alongside
How ar you feeling?
Have you had morning sickness?
How are you coping?

But I work in an office, and see the same people day in, day out! And there is another lady in the office further along than me, who I am sure doesn't get asked the same things!

MissB I love that t-shirt, do you think its classed as a 'logo' t-shirt? I may just about get away with it at work Grin

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/03/2014 18:39

i think youd get away with it Cumbrian lol xx

lol gunwalloe!

Pregnantberry · 14/03/2014 19:27

Thank you for the nice comments earlier, the scan was great! I saw the heart beat, and although I had hoped to see the baby moving s/he was throwing himself around like I never would have expected. The nuchal thickness was 2.0 mm, so that was good news, and it was dated at 13w4d which was two days out from what I thought. Then we went and got dinner together and bought a little pack of unisex hats to celebrate. GrinGrinGrin

So, my new EDD is Sept 15th.

Pregnantberry · 14/03/2014 19:29

And hehe to gunwalloe!

topmammy · 14/03/2014 19:30

Yippee its friday!!! Who ever it was who said they had a nice bath and relax that sounds divine. I'm going to make time for one myself this weekend. Only time for showers usually! I got a new bath before christmas and still haven't been in it lol shocking!

I could not get to sleep last night as I'm sure baby was moving... i feel like I have a plate of jelly wobbling inside me when I lie down. But it feels like constant wobbly movements. Don't know if babies actually move all the time though. It's weird not understanding whats going on inside my own body!

Pregnantberry · 14/03/2014 19:33

Just noticed I called the baby a "him" by mistake, my subconscious must think it's a boy. Grin

Missingcaffeine · 14/03/2014 19:48

Hi all,

Great to see the scan pictures!

I finally had my first midwife appt today! I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. I must be the last on here to meet a midwife?! Luckily there was a cancellation, so I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday, otherwise it would have been a 2 week wait!

First random person asked me if I am expecting today (neighbour's friend!). I'm only 12 weeks tomorrow, but I do look very pregnant. A proper pregnant shaped bump. It's my first so really worried I shouldn't look like this yet! I'm still trying to hide it until my scan!! I've put on 4kg ish since start of pregnancy.

Pregnantberry · 14/03/2014 19:52

That is late Missing, when did you POAS? Good luck with your scan. Smile I would have bump envy if I saw you, because I keep looking in the mirror and puffing out my tummy to try and see myself looking pregnant but I just look like I've had too many pies. Grin

KitKat1985 · 14/03/2014 20:24

Hopefully this scan photo from yesterday will now upload. :) Not the best of photos as baby wasn't feeling very co-operative and had snuggled down to the bottom of my womb away from the sonographer! x

topmammy that is the description I was looking for.... it does feel like carrying a tummy full of wobbly jelly. Nothing distict just a feeling of something going on =)
