So jealous isit, a friend of mine recently announced she's pregnant with her 1st, we are due same day!!! She has already started feeling movements a week ago and I'm desperate to feel something, but nothing so far Hmm I'm sure it'll happen soon. How many weeks are you now topmammy?

OneInAMinion · 13/03/2014 22:38

I've only had original midwife app, 12-week scan & my next mw app is 16 weeks but I think that's normal.

We're defo finding out, but waiting until the 20 week scan - can't wait!!

Any advice on pregnancy pillows ladies? I always sleep flat on my back so I'm trying to adapt before i get so big that it's a problem!

topmammy · 13/03/2014 22:41

I'm 16w+3 tomorrow Bex. Feel like such an imposter on the Sept thread hehe but I would so prefer my child to be the oldest not the youngest in its school year so I wouldn't mind going overdue. Do you know what the cut off date is for school years? I'm assuming it's 1st Sept but I'm not totally sure.

I have felt a few strange fluttery/bubbly sensations but only when I concentrate and lie still so not sure if it's just in my head/ my stomach is just gurgling! Ah well I'm sure it won't be long until baby's kicks are making me wince haha.

bugoven · 13/03/2014 22:44

Hi everyone Smile Lovely to see the good scan and movement news still coming.

I am so tempted by the Angel Sounds doppler. I now have had two RL and several MN ladies recommend it.

I have booked a private scan 31st March mainly to see LO, as waitong 11 - 20 weeks seems unbearable at the moment, and find out gender as an extra treat. I was told that if I am over 17 weeks (I will be 17w1d) then if they are unable to see the gender I can return for a free rescan. They are such a lovely team in my experience from 6 & 8 wk scans so I am happy to be receiving the pink/blue news from them.

dontevenblink · 13/03/2014 23:50

We aren't going to find out - am I the only one?! We've had a surprise for all 3 of ours, so want no.4 to be the same. I love the moment when DH gets to say "it's a girl" or "it's a boy", I vividly remember it each time and DH says he loves his special moment :)

I think we are very unusual not finding out though, the staff at the hospital have always been surprised when we tell them, and also get very excited about it :)

Lovely hearing all the good news about the scans, and seeing the pics!

rockin20s · 14/03/2014 06:55

We won't be finding out either, dh has always said keep it a surprise, but when the sonagrapher was trying to get a look at both legs we were glued to the screen trying too see if it was a boy/girl

We may crack and find out.....

misog2000 · 14/03/2014 07:01

We aren't finding out either dontevenblink I like the idea of a surprise (hubs took some persuading but he says I'm doing the work so I decide).

My scan is not till next Thursday, time is flying though so sure it will be here in no time. I'm feeling so much better this week, energy is coming back and the sun is shining - yey

BexBoo12 · 14/03/2014 07:28

Yes topmammy it is 1 September x

OneInAMinion · 14/03/2014 08:35

Did you find out any more about the baby show mummyinpink? We're going to go (although I'm not sure we'll buy anything yet) but I'm keen to find out more and hear what others thought of it.

IAteSomeofthePies · 14/03/2014 08:39

We are also holding out on finding out the sex. There's an envelope with that info in our file (from the NIPT testing) in case we crack before the birth, but so far we're holding strong!

So glad to see all the happy scan news and am very jealous of those feeling movements. I'm 16 weeks today, according to the scan, but so far nothing.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/03/2014 09:30

Know it's all good signs but I'm so drained, thought nausea is supposed to ease off, mine isn't :( foods that I usually love, I can't stomach, and still eating very little but as often as I can. OH is on the verge of going crazy at me, but it's not my fault. Can usually eat like a horse but it's just not happening, been like this from day 1 xx

TheOnlySeven · 14/03/2014 09:32

topmammy chances are those fluttery sensations are likely to be the baby :)

4d is the movement btw, so the scan is 4d but the pictures the give you are 3d.

I'm a bit jealous of those of you not finding out the sex. I've always said I hate surprises but we have to find out because with the risk of the genetic condition it's just so much easier and kinder if it's a boy to have a sample of cord blood taken than to have blood tests done on the baby.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 14/03/2014 10:16

I'm sure I can feel something going on in there, it's my 3rd baby so possible isn't it xx

isitme1 · 14/03/2014 10:29

Bright its definitely possible!

I dont get regular kicks and all movement (dont expect to until im a bit more further along) but I had 2 kicks yesterday (was crawling to encourage ds2 7 months to follow me lol)

Sicky88 · 14/03/2014 10:30

Is it normal to lose weight? Ive just weighed myself and Ive lost over a stone in 5 weeks, I had it to lose but just worried if it is normal.

isitme1 · 14/03/2014 11:05

Sicky I learnt yesterday I lost 5lbs (was happy as I dont want to put too much on) I had it to lose too. Ive not been eating properly as theres not much I can face. Maybe same for you too?

gunwalloe · 14/03/2014 11:18

Ive lost 7lbs and also needed to lose some so im happy ive just had no appetite hoping im not eating like a mad thing later on :)

cookielove · 14/03/2014 11:20

I've lost 7lbs according to my scales, 11lbs if I use the midwife scale.

whiteblossom · 14/03/2014 11:22

Afternoon all, lovely to see all the positive scan news.

sicky I lost 10lbs with my first pg so don't panic, make sure you drink plenty though xx

I got my downs blood results today, my risk is low at 1:37000. Im assuming that it is good news as the letter says low risk, how does this compare to anyone that's had it done yet/before??

Im craving sugar big time and that's a worry-my dad has diabetes and Im always careful and Im already booked in for a glucose test.

Im still shattered, doing anything totally drains me and I have to sleep it off, anyone else like this? Ive got a mw apt next week on wed so hope to hear heartbeat then.

I feel huge Sad though a friend said I looked mega skinny (she didn't know I was pg!) so I laughed and told her I was, her face was a picture. Im wearing a maternity dress and tight today, they def make me look bigger but oh so comfy! Grin

hope your all enjoying the nice sunshine- oh I did go to the babyshow and was disappointed. I managed to get free tickets (£15 normally) The show was small and nothing jumped out at me. You get discounted stuff bought on the day ie save £30 off uppababyvista pushchair from cheapest online price. It feels too early to buy anything but I did see a cotbed I wanted but they only sold it as a set at the show.

Sicky88 · 14/03/2014 11:36

That makes me feel a little better. I think I was just a little surprised as I haven't really been that sick but suppose I haven't really been eating that much.

whiteblossom · 14/03/2014 11:53

the baby takes what they need from you and as your not eating much your losing weight.

Im sat here eating a chocolate egg and cursing myself at the same time. Though I did buy some workout trousers yesterday and I aim to get my arse moving very soon...and join a prenatal swim group.

Pregnantberry · 14/03/2014 12:11

Hello everyone, I have my dating/nuchal translucency scan in three and a half hours, and I can't sit still I am so nervous! I was really excited until today but now I feel all panicky in case something is wrong. Sad/Grin/Shock

whiteblossom · 14/03/2014 12:17

good luck pregnantberry I think its normal to feel like that xx

gunwalloe · 14/03/2014 12:26

Whiteblossom that's a excellent result congrats! I would be doing cartwheels if I got your result :)

Good luck pregnantberry

cookielove · 14/03/2014 12:33
