13 weeks today! Can't believe I'll be 13 + 6 for my 12 week scan!! Does anyone know if this means I won't be able to have the nuchal fold test done?

OneInAMinion · 06/03/2014 21:11

I think 13+6 is the cut off twosacrowd so you might just be okay. Plus your dates might be out slightly. You'll see soon enough! Smile

cookielove · 06/03/2014 21:14

I was told the cut off for the nuchal fold scan is 14 weeks 1 day, so hopefully you'll be alright Twos

TwosaCrowd · 06/03/2014 21:19

hmm, hopefully! I'm not that bothered about it, I think, but it'd be annoying if it's too late so I didn't have the option!

TwosaCrowd · 06/03/2014 21:20

i'm currently sat scoffing a big bar of dairy milk Grin

Fairypants · 06/03/2014 21:30

I'm planning on taking the full year top. We've been working really hard to pay off debt and will be spending less on holidays (a major expense since realising our dd's are old enough to take longhaul) so we should be able to manage it.

Daytona79 · 06/03/2014 22:46

Got my 12 week scan on Wednesday coming and I will be exactly 12 weeks on the day

Praying all will be ok. So far I've been a bit doom and gloom thinking I would prob lose baby. Not for any reason bar all those close to me MC there 1st pregnancy.

Now all I keep thinking is god I bet baby has downs , in which case we would terminate pregnancy

Why am I being so gloomy..?? I thought it meant to be a happy time. All I do is worry.

This is my 1st pregnancy

I don't think I will stop worrying until baby pops out and I see for myself all is ok

My husband says in a dark cloud of doom at moment .

Positive thinking is out the window we me right now I think

arob100 · 07/03/2014 00:08

Hey guys first post tonight!
Can't sleep and been lurking around for a week or so thought I'd just say hello.
I'm about 12 weeks ish, had my booking Monday past and scans due on Wednesday 12th. Starting to let myself get excited on the inside, but I'm like you Daytona and a bit doom and gloom. My friend just mc and she was 15 weeks and so my minds in over drive.
Cheers me up hearing about all your good news scans tho. Anyways that's me for just now

isitme1 · 07/03/2014 08:08

Morning all.
Have some good news to share.

Im 15+1weeks and I was awake from around 6am and I got 2 big kicks! Waw lovely and all feels very real now Grin

Missingcaffeine · 07/03/2014 08:10

Congrats on the scans, welcome newcomers, and good luck with the imminent scans! I'm also a late Sep due date, 27th, onein, weeb and misog.

I was told by a obs/gyane consultant who did my private early scan, that the nuchal fold scan is dependant on the length of the baby it has to be between a certain range of length in mm. Prior to that I'd heard both 13+6 and 14+1 from 2 different scanning depts. I guess if you have a shorter baby, maybe you can have the scan later?! A few people haven't managed to get the nuchal reading even in correct dates as baby couldn't get into the right position for it! I have my booking in appt on 14th, hopefully scan shortly after.

So yesterday was the first day someone at work dared to come up to me and say 'I know I shouldn't know, but I do, so congratulations!' followed by 'I thought I could see a bump this-morning'. Now I'm not sure which comment has bothered me more, probably the 2nd one, as I wear a really baggy tunic uniform and I am only 10+6!! I do feel huge and feel like I've gained a stone round my tummy (I haven't weighed myself) but this can't be normal?! Think I'm constipated (after being the opposite for weeks) which probably adds to the feeling huge. My eating has become healthier over the last week since the nausea has improved and I can finally face veggies and normal food again.

So I start a new job in a few weeks, and really don't want to be visibly pregnant and want to hide it from staff for as long as possible (though I plan to tell my manager as early as I feel comfortable telling her). I won't be in uniform and need to dress quite smartly. Any suggestions of things I can wear that will hide it well? I need to shop for a whole new wardrobe as apart from the weight gain, I don't have any smart work clothes having worn uniform for the last 2 years.

cookielove · 07/03/2014 08:18

missingcaffeine I'm due at the end to :) which is good cause our wedding anniversary is the 1st.

Re. People congratulating you and thinking you are bigger Shock I would put it down to people being suspicious and trying to see something that is not there.

My sil is working at the nursery I work at, and she has been cornered by a few members of staff trying to get the truth out, she has just said part of the truth and left it that and my boss has told them all off for gossiping! Grin

misog2000 · 07/03/2014 08:38

Missing Caffine, my nausea has improved this week too, feel like I've got a bit more energy too which is nice. I'm another one that feels like I've put on loads of weight (I haven't, it's only 2lbs on the scales) so think it's partly psychological for me as I've worked so hard over the last few years to lose weight, I'm determined not to pile on more than I need to for the baby.

I am so bloated by the end of the day though, that I definitely have what looks like a bump, a slightly too big suit jacket buttoned up hides it for me ATM until I have told work. Belly looks normal in the mornings so don't have to wear the jacket all day thank goodness. A chunky cardi would do the same job if a suit is too smart.

Very exciting all this good scan news, feels like mine is ages away but sure it will fly by :-)

rockin20s · 07/03/2014 09:31

daytona i think your feelings are completely normal! try not to stress and enjoy the pregnancy

isitme i am SO jealous, is this your first baby? i would love to feel some kicks!

I am very bloated by 5pm look about 6 months pregnant, but its mostly gas. i do think im getting a little bump in the mornings though

isitme1 · 07/03/2014 09:39

Rockin ita my 3rd lol
im actually starting to feel excited about it all now.
I found ds1 scan pic yesterday will compare his and ds2 and this one see if we can see a similarity or a difference
will let you know Grin woke up in a good mood due to the kicks lol. Rockin when you feel it for the first time in your first pregnancy it feels magical! I was sat in an awkward position sorting some stuff out when I was around 17weeks with ds1 and I felt a 'twang' and then I shifted a bit and then back to awkward position again and I felt it again. I told dm and she said baby doesnt like how you are sitting and its letting you know!

Good luck to anyone who has a scan x

TheOnlySeven · 07/03/2014 09:45

Missingcaffeine · 07/03/2014 11:46

isit that's so exciting you felt kicks!
Does anyone know when the 'glow' is supposed to start?!

kicksandgiggles · 07/03/2014 13:27

Just checking in to keep this on my active threads list! 13+4 today, and had my first consultant appointment. He said he would handle all my normal check-ups since he will be seeing me so often anyway, so I won't be seeing the MW again. I have a lull until 17 weeks, and then loads of appointments from that point onwards, between scans and consultant appointments. It's a bit scary when looking at all the risks with identical twin pregnancies, but so far, so good, and the consultant was quite positive about the prospect of trying to deliver vaginally (although it's very early days).

In any case, I'm busy with work at the moment, but will be back later for a proper catch-up.

Poonli · 07/03/2014 15:09

Hi everyone

I had my 12 week scan today and results of Harmony test. Everything came back normal and low risk.

Sooo happy and excited now.

We also found out we are having another boy!! :)

Xx

rockin20s · 07/03/2014 15:19

oh congrats poonli exciting times ahead!!

kicks thats really good they are considering a natural delivery, you would recover so much quicker than c-section!

kicksandgiggles · 07/03/2014 16:13

I'm really hoping for a vaginal birth, and they say my chances are higher as I've done it before with no problems. However, it is very early days, as it will totally depend on the twins' positions and whether there are any complications.

Congratulations Poonli! Boys are fab. I can't wait to find out the gender this time around!

KitKat1985 · 07/03/2014 16:14

Congrats on your kicks Isitme1. I thought I felt something the other night but everything I've read said it's far too early for me to have felt anything yet, so guess it must be wishful thinking!

Congrats Poonli on the good results, and congrats on finding out you're having a boy! :)

After feeling relatively well the past 3-4 weeks I've felt a bit crap again the past couple of days. Was exhausted yesterday (probably not helped by hubby snoring and keeping me awake the previous night), and this morning had a bloody ridiculous vomiting episode. It caught me completely by surprise by how sudden and intense it was... I was sick in the toilet, on the floor, up the walls, on my work uniform! Shock It's quite funny thinking about it now but it wasn't funny at 6am this morning!

Hope everyone else is well. xxx

LH1981 · 07/03/2014 19:18
