Hi all, I have my BFP and due 30th October. It's my third baby and was 2 weeks late with the last two so bound to be November.

Anybody else for November yet? I know it's very very early :)

I was trying to wait until he gets back tomorrow', Wilhelmina, but was too excited as we've been trying for a while so I called him but he was already asleep (time difference) so I texted him a picture of the test saying 'good news'. Not ideal but had to share! He sent me some flowers yesterday.

The nervousness is hard when you've had a previous loss. My first pregnancy before DS ended at 11 weeks as an MMC which was awful as I was just a few days from my 12 week scan, thinking everything was going fine and then got some brown discharge, went for an emergency scan and it had stopped developing at 8 weeks. Scary! I'm paranoid this time again even though I've had a successful pregnancy with DS since then. I don't think the fear ever goes away when you've had a loss.

Don't mean to bring down the mood here - sorry! Apart from feeling worried though, I'm tired and off my food like last time. Got a lot of indigestion this time too which I don't remember having with DS. No hankering for alcohol at all here, am off it completely. Was like that last time too, didn't miss it at all until the third trimester.

Tigsy · 07/03/2014 15:56

Off to Budapest for the weekend know- think it could be hard saying no to the cheap alcohol! Think my brother may have inadvertently found out. He came over to take us to the airport and there was a pregnancy book i had bought and an expectant dad's book sitting around which he must have seen! Am gutted and went mad at DH for not putting then away. Was so excited about telling them properly after the early scan. Have a good weekend ladies!

daisydalrymple · 07/03/2014 16:30

Hi ladies, am tentatively dipping my toes in the water, after 4 feint bfps! EDD 18th Nov. Tested on a whim as had a work night out planned and just had a feeling. Amazed at bfp so early in cycle (thus the following 3 just to make sure Grin).

Haven't told DH yet. I had an MMC in 2012, so am feeling a but wary (was due exact same time). We have 2 DC already so had accepted this is our lovely lot (i'm 41 so thought it wasn't going to happen now). So, fingers crossed!

I drove on the night out and said i'd given up alcohol for lent- had to laugh when reading through the thread how many of us have used that one! Convenient month for us!

Lovely to meet you all and (fingers crossed) am looking forward to sharing the next 8 months or so with you all!

Hopeful83 · 07/03/2014 17:43

Welcome daisydalrymple! Congratulations. Have fun on your weekend away Tigsy. I have just got back from the GP, been told I have to self-refer but have a choice of 3 hospitals. How to choose? I would normally take lots of time to make a decision like this but feel in a hurry to choose as I want my booking appointment. Any advice on how to choose?

booksshoescats · 07/03/2014 18:33

Hi daisy - snap, I'm 41, too. DH thinks he's a stud for getting his ancient wife pg (and he's 5 yrs older than me Smile). Congratulations and fingers crossed for you.

Have fun in Budapest, Tigsy. Friends just got back from there and had an amazing time. You might be surprised at what some people (particularly men) don't notice. Quite possible your brother didn't even see, and if he did hopefully he'll be nice and feign surprise Smile.

Hopeful - it's hard as people have seem to have such varying experiences with hospitals. Do you have friends you can get first-hand opinions from re the maternity services at your local hospitals? Or you could visit the maternity wards. I bet just the response you get to that request will tell you something. Where are you based? Maybe some of the women here might be local to you and have advice. Or on MN generally.

Hopeful83 · 07/03/2014 19:04

Hi thanks for the reply. I've been looking on here at some reviews of the hospitals but many of them are old reviews so not sure how relevant they are, and you always get some people for one and some for another so it still leaves you confused. I do have some friends I could ask but DH does not want us telling anyone until after the scan. I'm trying to choose between Darent Valley in Dartford and Princess Royal in Bromley. I'm leaning towards DV as it's nearer to work and my family

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 07/03/2014 19:32

Sorry Hopeful not enough hospitals where I am to get a choice so not sure what to look out for.

Enjoy Budapest tigsy. That has made me very jealous.

Hi Daisy. When are you going to tell your husband. I wouldn't be able to keep it quiet. Although we haven't told anyone else.

Avery your husband sounds lovely. I used to get sent flowers at one stage, sigh Envy

HRMumness · 07/03/2014 20:13

Welcome to all the new ladies. Avery - lucky you to have such a wonderful DH and such a funny little DS.

Tigsy I suppose you can't go in the spas right? Sure you are going to have a brilliant time.

Wilhelmina - my DD is mostly called Mina, DH couldn't really disagree as he knew how close I was with my DGM. They only got to meet a handful of times as she lives in Oz with the rest of our families. Sadly she passed away last year but I know she was chuffed to bits that I named DD after her. Re: twins, I hope it's not. We have no family in the uk and I don't think I could cope with three under three. Just one healthy one please.

I've been puking all afternoon. Plus I've got the squitz (tmi). Am desperately hoping it is just a bug rather than bad morning sickness. DD only puked the once but think that was because she is teething and hadn't eaten much. Urrgghh.

Nessalina · 07/03/2014 22:57

Evening all! Smile Welcome daisy!
Good tips on the necessaries. I need to make a big list and try to stick to it - easy right?! Shock
I've eaten waaaay too much got my tea tonite and have some wicked heartburn going on Confused
What do people have planned for the weekend? I'm heading over to see my folks for two nights, looking forward to seeing them, have vowed not to spill the beans...

RandomInternetStranger · 07/03/2014 23:01

I was considering a last minute surprise flit to Wales for a few nights but I did a big shop tonight and don't want to have it go to waste. Can't do Tues-Sat this week but might do it next Sunday for a few days. Smile

I might just chill out, enjoy the sun if it's still shining, go for some country walks & do a spot of solo bonding with the bump to be. Also got a shed load of stuff to eBay or Gumtree! Will do that I suppose. Smile

MabelMay · 08/03/2014 05:25

Hi guys - tentatively dipping my toe into this thread. I got a BFP on Monday - am 5 weeks pregnant due 8th November according to EDD calculator.

Am 39, have two DCs already aged 8 and 6. We've been trying for number 3 for a while - i had two MCs last year so feeling very wary and nervous about this pregnancy. Delighted to be PG but so scared of things going wrong.

Had a fleshy coloured discharge this evening when I went to the loo and started having a mini panic. I hope I'll calm down soon but have a feeling the next two months are going to be hard, and slow.

Anyone else with slightly pinky/fleshy discharge? (sorry if tmi)

Well done everyone. Looking forward to being part of the crew for the next 8 months! (fingers crossed)
MM.

MabelMay · 08/03/2014 05:28

daisy I guess I'm in a similar boat to you too (a MC in April and a MMC in August last year) - also have two DC already (see my post above). Also feeling very wary. Will be good to do some mutual hand-holding!

Nessalina · 08/03/2014 07:03

Welcome MM! We're due on the same day Smile There's a few of us with recent MCs or other problems, so don't worry, there'll be plenty of support and mutual mental Grin
Yes, I had some pink discharge last week, Tues to Fri I think. I was worried, but it stopped, so I figured it was the fabled implantation bleeding!

ladydolly · 08/03/2014 07:21

Hi MabelMay

I had brown followed by pink for a day last weekend but nothing since then. Also hoping this was an implantation bleed.

Sore boobs amped up yesterday, I was walking through town whispering 'ow, ow, ow, ow, ow'!

MammySam · 08/03/2014 07:33

Hi everyone,
Haven't been on here for a week or so because I was having pains very much like my MMC last October. Super scared but finally went to GP on Thursday who sent me off to EPAU straight away. Was like dejavu :(
Anyway they scanned me and I'm so relieved to say the sac could be seen straight away (last time at this far along nothing could be seen) the sac is in the right place and even better there was a yolk sac! Felt like I had my BFP all over again! :D apparently as yolk sacs go it looks like a good one the midwife said!
Phew! Yay!
X

MammySam · 08/03/2014 07:35

(Forgot to say the scan would say I'm half a week to a week behind where my dates put me, which was 31st Oct so I'm definitely in November now! Somewhere around 3rd/4th I'm guessing!)

MammySam · 08/03/2014 07:48

Hi mabelmay
Congrats! If it helps when I was at EPAU on Thursday midwife told me around 5 wks the sac is settling in the womb so some spotting is perfectly normal, you only need to worry if its bright red, more than a period and/or accompanied by a lot of pain. Sounds like your symptoms could be that setting! Fingers crossed for you x

Nessalina · 08/03/2014 08:25

Well thank goodness for that Sam! You must have been bricking it Confused
Glad the lil' one is sticking tight! Smile

Wilhelminanevillesdottir · 08/03/2014 09:13

That's fab news MammySam. You must feel so much better.

I am also getting sore boobs lady. Will have to hunt the maternity bras out. Although think I'm smaller this time round so will probably have to spend more money I don't have.

Mina is a cute nn Mumness. Fair enough on the twins front. I can't imagine having two newborns plus my hyperactive toddler either.

Had an awful night's sleep last night and feel nauseous this morning. That's what I get for moaning about lack of symptoms.

daisydalrymple · 08/03/2014 09:15

Thanks for the welcomes Smile it's reassuring to do some hand holding wuth others. I agree mabel, i don't think i'll relax until after the 12 week mark - last pg i told friends and family early on as it never really crossed my mind anything would go wrong after 2 healthy pregnancies. The scan was such a blow. Anyway, more positive thinking!

I'm going to try and tell DH later, we're a bit like ships in the night - he gets in from work 5.30, then i dash out to work for 6pm 4 eves a week, so we generally have a rushed catch up over tea with DS and DD. I wanted to wait till I was a few weeks in after last time, i don't know why, i think i just wanted to keep it to myself incase it all goes wrong again. Anyway, i really do need to move onto more positivity Grin .

Have a great weekend everybody. I'll try to check in, in-between football, rugby and working! My cousin is down from scotland too so that will be fun to catch up.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/03/2014 10:14

Morning All, Unfortunately my little bean hasn't been a sticky one. So heart broken first pregnancy and just didn't expect it. Fairy dust to you and your pregnancies I hope they are all happy and healthy ones x
