Hi everyone
Congratulations Frodo!!!!!
Another Yorkshire baby

Well, I'm still here. Very much so. No niggles, nothing!
Am pleased things look ready down below as thats reassuring just a shame I haven't had anything else.

Melsy I tried to get you earlier but it said you were offline, get my number of Luna if you want me I'm just getting on quickly atm as my BIL & SIL came to stay last night and are stopping tonight too and dh has been using the laptop so I can't really get on. At the worst I'll be about Thursday.

I've nipped into town today and bought dd a pet goldfish who is now called Nemo. She is very happy now and SIL is sat painting with her as I type so all is peaceful!

Anywhooo, good luck to you Eeny and Sal, hope things are going well. Keep us updated! Also Booby hope things have gone well for you too!

Speak soon!!!!!

Congratulations - Frodo. love the name - I have one

Still no signs of anything happening with me, I did think that today could be the day it being the 08th of the 08th but its not looking likely now.

Good luck to you all and looking forward to hearing more announcements.

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 14:53

hi trix glad you are ok It wont be much longer now when is your next appointment

hoppybird · 08/08/2006 15:02

Hello everyone!

Was also hoping to see news from YF, booby and eeny. It's all very exciting! Congrats to Frodo!

We haven't heard from BHMama in a while - isn't she due any second??

Snowboo - good to hear your baby's feeding well.
Olivio - your itching doesn't sound nice, but it's good you've got some help with it - do you know what caused it? Could it be something soap/toiletries related?

Not long now for many of us - I'm quite happy waiting as long as they let me to make sure this one comes out a decent weight, as at the moment it looks like it'll be only just over 6lb maximum if I go to term (21st). I have a section booked on the 24th if I don't go into labour naturally before then (no inductions with a previous section you see), so I've got to get my timing just right. Ha ha - how impossible is that!

My birthing ball was delivered this morning - very nice to sit on, and ds loves it! But the instructions say not to use it for 24 hours after inflation. Grr.

olivo · 08/08/2006 15:20

hi trix - was wondering if you had any news.hopefully it'll come soon enough.

hoppy - you sound so patient!
yellow - at nemo!!

going for a swim in an attempt to cool down. have been googling itching and diagnosing myself with all sorts of nasties - when will i learn?!?!

sarahlou1uk · 08/08/2006 15:45

Well this morning I scrubbed the kitchen, hoovered downstairs, tidied under the stairs and cleaned the bathroom! Is this a sign of things to come??!??!? PLEASE LET IT BE SO! I see the mw tomorrow when I'll be 39 weeks and I so want dd out!

sarahlou1uk · 08/08/2006 15:47

Forgot to tell you all, had a dream the other night and I gave birth to a boy!! NO!! Can amnios be wrong? I now starting to panic that they gave me the wrong results at the hospital and that dd is actually ds no 2!! Well, he'll have to wear pink clothes 'cause I've got rid of all ds1's!!!!!

trix1 · 08/08/2006 15:49

My m/w appt is tomorrow, im seeing a different one as my usual lady is on holiday.

Olivio the itching souns awful, have you tried calomine lotion?

Yes, Bigmoma has gone quiet - I wonder if she will have an announcement for us soon.

Blossom was being induced today (from the July thread) good luck Blossom.

Are you feeling ok Dreamy?

trix1 · 08/08/2006 15:51

Oh Sarahlou - could that be you nesting - your due the after me.

Ive been ironing for the last two hours - got a burst of energy but I have been resting all morning so I doubt it.

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 15:54

Hi hoppybird have you been getting more movements from your little one lately I hope so The 21st is my dps birthday still a good two weeks away yet so baby could put another pound on one of my older girls was only 6lb 15oz its lovely to have a little baby without the worry obviously. Olivo I think im going to have to soak my feet again too as they are really tight and swollen today. cant wait to hear from some of the others Pucca hope she is recovering well. Misty Act and Fortnight should all have had their babies by now Freddy says bobbly and big hot mamma and jayneeggybee how are you all ? and of course booby and eeny hope you are both well too

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 15:59

hi trix and sarahlou Im fine just swollen feet and going mental trying to get house finished. Hope all is going well for you blossom you two definitely sound like you are in the throws of nesting whereas mine is just a frantic race against time I too am worried in case baby turns out to be a boy we have a pink pram loads of pink clothes and pink sheets etc It would be awful

trix1 · 08/08/2006 16:03

I cant wait to meet my baby and fidn out the sex. Can you all beleive that I took the castor oil on Sunday and nothing happened

lots of people said going for a long walk helps to bring on labour, i should try doing that soon but I am so lazy.

My ds was 6lb 8oz - I am going to ask tomorrow if she can estimate the weight of this one. Ive only put on a stone so am about 9 1/2 stone now so I doubt it will be much more than 7 lb but who knows.

Oh the waiting is killing me. 39 weeks today.

hoppybird · 08/08/2006 16:05

Olivio - yes, I'm pretty patient - the cooler weather is helping me cope as my feet have gone back to nearly normal size. Only major problem I'm having just now is having a really stiff hip when I wake up in the morning due to doing it by the book and staying on my left side.

My last one was prem, so anything after 35 weeks is all new to me, almost like it's the first time - I'm quite enjoying the calm before having to function like a zombie due to sleep deprivation (well, that's what it was like last time - might be luckier this time round).

hoppybird · 08/08/2006 16:14

Dreamy - yes, baby's been moving around a lot, so I'm pretty confident all is well, even though the hosp. are being really cautious about it having IUGR - next weeks scan will be my fifth one! tut My MW thinks there's nothing wrong, as she pointed out, I'm not so big either.

BigHotMama · 08/08/2006 16:17

Hiya laydeez, am still here and had no signs of baba making an appearance yet! Am officially 1 day overdue today and am just taking things day by day but really want my baby in my arms, feels like been pg forever. MW says I'm 3/5 engaged and sounds like baba is well too content to come out just yet - great! Have got a sweep booked for 41 weeks then if still no sign induction at 41+5, but really hope it doesnt come to that.

Big congrats to Snowboo, Pucca and Frodo, I knew there would have been around 3 babies born since last Friday. And how exciting for Eeny, Booby, and Yellow too! Come on girls get pushing!

Blossom, hope your induction goes well today bet you've been so frustrated hun.

Olivo hope your ok as this itching malarki sounds awful chick!

Trix lol at you trying the castor oil - you got guts, me too scared ha!

Dreamy, you always sound so busy, hope the feet arent causing too much hassle, I actually told my mom i was jealous of the veins in her feet as I've not seen mine for 2 months ha! Bet she thinks what a wierd thing to say?

Well I've not a twinge or a niggle, and tbh I'm sleeping really well apart from my inner thigh pain when I turn over!

Making myself as busy as possible with housework, and lunching with friends. Really cant wait now!

Sarahlou hope this nesting your doing is a positive sign too!

Hoppy am very envious of your birthing ball

Sorry if missed anyone off but its taken me allafternoon to catch up then I cant remember who did what and said what - hope everyone is ok x x

Congrats frodo lovely name

PinkTulips · 08/08/2006 16:24

snap dreamy. 21st is my dps birthday too freaky!

hoppy, glad your staying so calm and relaxed... i'd be more inclined to believe the mw tbh, they see all kinds of birth whereas the docs only really see the bad ones so they tend to be a bit pessimistic i find. at least you get to see baby loads on the scans!

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 16:43

wow pinky small world hey got my daughters 18th first bighotmamma Im glad you are fine you seem to be taking it all in your stride anyway Im sure we are going to have a very busy week with births this week hopefuly you will be one of them

BigHotMama · 08/08/2006 16:59

Ah thanks dreamy! Will keep ya posted x

trix1 · 08/08/2006 16:59

Do you mind your babies being so young when they start school, if they are born in August they will be the youngest in the school year, if they are born in Sept they will start school the following year and will be the oldest.

Does it make any difference do you think?

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 17:18

I do think it very much depends on the child and obviously you cant tell until they are older but my eldest is an august child and has always done really well at school my son is a september child and has been classed as gifted and talented since he was in nursery he really would have benefitted from being in the year above and has often struggled mixing with the year he is in Im hoping mine is an August baby Its really hard for them having to wait until they are almost 4 before they are able to go to nursery its hard to keep them entertained for that length of time at home and toddler groups are often too young for them by then too

PinkTulips · 08/08/2006 17:26

it's so much better over here, we can send them when we want not according to the calendar. dp was august baby and he wasn't oldest or youngest in his class. and they can start montessori (nursery) whenever you feel they're ready. planning on sending dd next year when shs 2.5 and then to school when she's 4 if she's ready

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 17:41

wish it was more like that here. Where are you from pink?

hoppybird · 08/08/2006 17:58

BHM - nice to see you again! Yes, I think my ball's gonna get a lot of use, by me and ds!

Just been offered a TENS machine to borrow by one of dh's work colleagues! Lovely surprise - not sure how much/how easily I'll be able to use it, as I'll probably have monitoring straps (cautious hosp. VBAC policy) - I wasn't going to bother because of this, but I'll certainly have a go as it's free for me to use!

Trix - my ds is a Sept baby, one of the oldest in the class. I can certainly see a difference with regards to behaviour and language/vocab skills, which are very advanced, but maybe that's just him. He was def. behind with a couple of other things, though, due to being prem - fine motor skills for instance - couldn't even hold a crayon strongly enough to scribble until he was 3 and a half.

I was also wondering how different the youngest child in the class would be - I guess he/she would learn more quickly/be more confident from having and older brother, so perhaps the difference wouldn't be as great with mine being a second child?
