OOH popping popping , someone send some popping vibes to me.

Wow trix , it must really work then , IM just scared to take it.

OOh booby you go girl , hope some of what weve talked of has helped. Are you in the throws now at home ?? Were all thinking of you hun. May the August force be with you.

AWwwww eeny & sal , good luck over the next few days , if u can Sal , get some of these oils below if it slows down. I got this of the web:

Clary Sage oil strengthens the respiratory and muscular systems in labor while facilitating regular, effective contractions to speed up the process. This essential oil also relieves pain and tension.

Neroli oil brightens the spirit and brings clarity to the mind. This essential oil improves circulation throughout the body and reduces fear and anxiety.

Jasmine Oil dulls uterine pain, strengthens contractions during labor and promotes healthy production of breast-milk.

Clove essential oil stimulates contractions, facilitating the birth process. This oil is useful for its antiseptic properties and will also prevent nausea and vomiting sometimes experienced during labor.

hoppybird · 07/08/2006 09:12

Morning all!

Gosh, new thread and lots of new babies too! Congratulations Pucca - hope your recovery goes well - I know you weren't looking forward to it. And congratualtions also to Snowboo - well done on just gas and air (I'm also hoping for that), and I do hope bf is getting easier for you.

Booby - wow! Just goes to prove women can dig out their inner strengths when it comes down to it! Hope it's going well for you, and as others have said, whichever way it happens, you know that you have gone for it head on.

Eeny and Sal - all my best wishes, hope everything is going ok.

Yellow - another one on the brink! Good luck! Bloss - hope you don't have to wait much longer.

Everyone else - hope you're enjoying the cooler weather.

Well, I'm personally very happy that I'm still hanging on. 38 weeks today! My scan last week showed measurements had improved, so I didn't have to have a CS there and then (phew!) However, due for another scan on the 16th, and warned of another CS if baby shows any signs of growth having slowed again. I'm finding it annoying having to have all these scans, but Hosp. is ultra-cautious because of my ds being IUGR. This one will be small too, though, not much over 6lb (i've worked out on all the graphs I've got in my notes) - but then I'm a very little person myself, so it's hardly surprising! I'm just happy there are no signs of early labour, and that baby's moving around a lot.

Darned uncomfortable to sleep these days though - my hip gets really stiff since baby's head started to engage a couple of weeks back (still at 4/5 though), but I've been very good just keeping on my left side and doing all the other stuff to ensure baby's in the best position, which has worked splendidly!

YellowFeathers · 07/08/2006 09:36

Ok just to update those of you I haven't spoke to..
I'm just waiting for family to come and look after dd and then I'm off to hospital to be checked out.
She did say it doesn't sound convincing but you never know and need to be sure waters haven't gone.

So theres a fair chance I could be back, although might beg and plead for induction if I'm ready

Hope everyones ok.
Speak soon

Wow to all of you, you are so lucky.....I am green with envy. I am totally hacked off. Now 5 days overdue, not a murmer, just really uncomfortable. Got a sweep booked for wednesday but that feels like an age.

Tempted to hear more about castor oil...Trix1 whats happening?? Are you not about because you in labour now???

Good luck to all of you in labour...enjoy and dig deep x x

trix1 · 07/08/2006 10:38

Good morning, Im back, had a painful night with cramps but they stopped around 4.30am. There has been nothing since, it does not work and I wont be taking any more, Ive had a taste of whats to come when I go into real labour and I am happy to wait now until baby is ready to come.

There were times in the night when I thought this is it but no, its not. Ive got a feeling this baby is not going to come for a week or two at least.

Looks like we will have some good news from Yellow, Eeny and Booby soon so good luck to you ladies.

sarahlou1uk · 07/08/2006 10:50

Wow! I miss one night on mumsnet and it all kicks off!!! So of all you out there who are in labour/had babies already. I'm not due until next Wednesday (16th) but have been trying everything (apart from sex 'cos I've got really painful hips) to get dd out. Dreamy - I'm still here. It'll be me and you left soon as I'll probably go over again, you watch!

PinkTulips · 07/08/2006 11:55

good luck eeny and Feathers, and hope booby's getting on ok too

SnowBoo · 07/08/2006 12:04

purpleturtle · 07/08/2006 16:35

Well, I was awake from 1.30 till 6.30 last night. Baby was very active, plenty of Braxton Hicks, and no feeling sleepy. Grrr.

Have at least been out today - took kids to a play area (although I just sat down, obviously) and popped into the shopping centre for a couple of last minute bits and pieces.

My last massage is booked for tomorrow; plan to ask her to use clary sage in the blend this time. See if that can get anything going.

39+1

sarahlou1uk · 07/08/2006 17:13

Afternoon everyone. Don't know why, but today I am virtually pain free! My hips don't hurt and my bump doesn't feel heavy like it has done for the past x weeks! I hope this is a sign that she's thinking about coming out!

melsy · 07/08/2006 17:25

ooaahhh sarah, calm before the storm ehhh!

No more news from yellow , booby or eeny , must be good !!!!!

Im sitting at me sis house looking up all the oils ive just spent a fortune on today. Im having my 2nd rasberry leaf tea.My lovely mum stopped near a Holland and Barret and I had fun buying it all. The boys in there said I shud have bought the pill version of rasberry leaf, but Id already spent a load on the oils.

Just wondering with the oils ,wether to put them in my oil burner , rub them in me belly ,(with a carrier oil) ,or put them in the bath ! I have clary sage, rosemary, neroli & jasmine. Oh and some lavender at home.

might also try some reflexology if dh doesnt come home at midnight, but also wanted to ermmmm you know get some natural prostaglandin!!! , but I wont be able to stay awake that late. DAMN this baba is supposed to come tomorow , he cant work late!!!!

dreamydowler · 07/08/2006 17:59

hi purple I know what you mean I dont know how but I seem to be surviving on 3 or 4 hours sleep a night at the moment everything aches my feet are swollen babys head is constantly pushing down my back and pelvis ache like mad too. very jealous sarah hope I can get some relief before the birth wow melsey you sound very organised for a lovely night I would have curry with raspberry leaf and jasmin tea followed by fresh pineapple lots of nipple twiddling and sex followed by a nice hot bath hopefuly something should work oh and dont forget rubbing oils into your bump and reflexology heres hoping

Salamander · 07/08/2006 18:45

Hi Everyone,

Keep up the good work those who are on the brink!

Eeny has just been given her Sinocitin (sp) drip to bring on the contractions - as of about 6pm.
Since I work at this hospital I took a few mins to grab a bite to eat, come back to my office after hours and log on to update you all!!

She is doing really well - very very tired though.

She's a real trooper though and i'm so proud of her. she's had examination after examination and now she's stuck on a bed - totally different to the free and easy water birth she had planned.

Send her good vibes all of you - we'll be sending them back.

Next time I log on I hope to have WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!

See you later

Almost a Daddy-mander

lunavix · 07/08/2006 18:53

aww bless send her our love sal xx

sorry yf it wasnr more hope you are feeling okay

keep strong melsy not long to go xx

melsy · 07/08/2006 19:10

Im home now , just needed to be in me nightie and having some peace, my mum and ickle sis helped put dd into bed and Im now sat here hoping dh doesnt come home late.

awwww Sal , lots of good birthing vibes going too eeny and you. Bless her , I know how she feels, also had syntocinon,is she having it with epi??? Hopefully it wont be long now , that stuff is strong strong. Its made me feel all tearful again, I just cant stop today. LOve to you both , youll be parents by tommorow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sorry dreamy and purple not sleeping ,that sucks quite a bit, Im luckily able to get off with my cd , but often wake at 2:30 or 3 for an hr or so. I assume youve tried all the relaxing stuff to wind down , nice lavender baths knock me out and sooth my aching legs. Talking of legs , mine seem to be going very hard and stiff and they feel about 10times thicker, such a wieird feeling, wondering if its part of dare I mention , early labour?

Hi luna , hows you this afternoon been ?

Surges seem to me coming more often this afternoon and Im feeling quite off, dont want to make too much of it, but you cant help but hope.

SnowBoo · 07/08/2006 19:23

If its any consolation when i went into labour i was in denial til the contractions were 2.5mins apart and rather painful. Went to the hosp expecting to be sent home and i was already 3cm dilated. After 45mins of wandering round the hosp i was 7cm! And another couple of hours my beautiful baby popped out!

Pink, ds loves his baby to bits! Thinks hes the best little baby in the world. Hates me at the moment thou. Dh has some sort of stomach bug/food poisoning and hes actually really bad. Bed ridden for the past couple of days so i feel guilty for telling him to pull himself together. So most of my time has been feeding baby, changing baby and feeding baby some more. Ds has felt a bit pushed out as theres been no one else to take baby while i cuddle ds. So fingers crossed tomorrow will be an easier day....

Has anyone tried to give themselves a sweep? Aparently its really easy but i never tried myself. Left that for the consultant!
