give her a big hug from me sal, was stuck to the bed on monitors for dd's birth too.... it really sucks, tell her to try and doze off between contractions if she can to spare her energy. can't wait to hear your good news!

melsy... got positive vibes sent your way sweetie...... wouldn't it be cool if he came at 8 in the morning?!

PinkTulips · 07/08/2006 19:32

aaawww bless Snow, don't be afraid to ignore baby a bit to give ds attention though... they don't norice when their tiny and he sounds like he needs it. just put baba down in his cot andyou'll be surprised how happy he is staring at the ceiling!

trix1 · 07/08/2006 20:01

Good evening,

Snow how would you give yourself a sweep? or is that a daft question?

Good luck to Eeny - another announcement is iminent.

dreamydowler · 07/08/2006 21:48

burstingbug · 07/08/2006 22:08

Sounds like everyone had a busy hectic day in one way or another! Hope everyone is feeling ok.
I've been hunched over the sink and the bath all afternoon washing up and cleaning the fish tank! Hope it may have helped to move baby out of the back to back position Bil took my 4 remaining fish off to his house, I can't be dealing with the hassle of cleaning them anymore with a toddler and newborn.
Didn't go out today, dh took the dog for a walk, thats about it. Ds didn't go out either so was confined to the flat all day, hes played on his own mostly because dh has been fixing his pc and i've been doing housework and stuff. Putting ds to bed tonight was awful, he had so much surplus energy, he had his bottle but just wouldn't lie down I wasn't in the mood for battling with him. Brought him back into the lounge and sat and made the effort to play with him properly for about an hour with his shape sorters and stacking blocks, then read him a story, took him back in his room where he had yet another bottle of milk. Within 5 minutes he was asleep thank god.
I swear I'll never let him stay in the house all day again. I will make myself take him on walk and make a set time to sit and play with him each day!!! At least thats what I plan to do - we'll see once baby arrives

lunavix · 07/08/2006 22:53

awww melsy and burstingbug, no news for you yet hey.

melsy - yes have been fine, keep getting a few diarrhoea-type pains that make me wonder if something could happen but of course nothing will. Settling down with a cup of raspberry leaf tea (as usual! tbh I actually quite like it hot) and hoping for some sleep - haven't slept for the last two nights at all, total insomnia.

Going to see midwife tomorrow for 38 week check, wondering what the chances of talking her into giving me a sweep are...

burstingbug · 07/08/2006 23:07

I asked my mw last week when I was 39+1, she said no to a sweep . With any luck - depending which mw it is this Friday, I'll ask again when I'll be 40+1.
I was 40+3 last time with ds when I had my sweep, he arrived 40+6.

lunavix · 07/08/2006 23:11

I started having contractions with ds at 39+4, on 39+5 I was given a sweep which resulted in a show, then later that day they broke my waters and ds was born early hours of 39+6....

I guess it's different cos I had strong but irregular contractions, but it was still early...

burstingbug · 07/08/2006 23:21

Woke with contractions 40+5, a show later that day. Went in to hospital early hrs of 40+6 at 7cm, waters broke eventually whilst it was still dark, ds wasn't born till almost midday 40+6!

SnowBoo · 08/08/2006 08:47

With the sweep i had three in total. One at 37 weeks, one at 38 weeks and one during labour.

To do a DIY sweep you stick two fingers up into your cervix and just sweep them about. My neighbour done her own a couple of times and went into labour the same day so must be something in it.

If the doctors say no they won't do it tell them you will! Maybe they'll change their minds....lol.

olivo · 08/08/2006 08:51

Mornign everyone! any news from anyone? hope all are ok.
am off to the doctors this morning, my itching has got worse and is no longer just my bump, its pretty much all over so i'm going to get checked out just in case its something unpleasant.cant go on for another 2+ weeks like this anyway.

will come back on later to check up on you all - take it easy! x

olivo · 08/08/2006 08:54

hi snow - hows it going with austin?

melsy · 08/08/2006 08:55

Morning all

I didnt realise how much speaking to you all on msn was such a life line the last few days , as going a bit stir crazy and youve almost all gone . Dreamy are you ok , said hello this morn????

Awwwww lunavix you not sleeping either, I didnt much with dd at the end, but this hypno cd has been amazing , even though its broken Im still getting a few good chunks. Still feel like rubbish in the morning though.

OK so IM still here,dh did the reflexology thing of sorts, we sorta attempted errrrrrrrr other things , but it just wasnt happening very well . I then had a clary sage and lavender bath. I sent the night feeling very odd, having quite strong surges but also shaking and very wobbly when getting up to wee. I feel really deflated and irratable this morning. I have my last midwife appt today , as nxt wk will be consultants to discuss induction date .

olivo · 08/08/2006 08:59

aw melsy, hang on in there, it will happen soon.

melsy · 08/08/2006 09:01

ahh hiya Olivo , X posts didnt see you were on.

Good luck at the docs today , hope its something just simple.

olivo · 08/08/2006 09:04

good luck at your mw appt.

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 09:34

hi all Im still around for all you in need of a chat. Seem to have woken up with a bunged up left ear today just to add to the existing pregnancy symptoms. Hope everything goes well for you olivo let us know what they said wont you it really must be hacking you off. Snowboo its lovely to hear from you how is baby?

SnowBoo · 08/08/2006 11:34

Baby is a dream. Feeds really well, both breasts then bottle at every sitting! MW says this is fine til my milk comes flooding in. Poos for England which is good. Now asleep. Just waiting in for MW to do Guthrie test. Hate this part. And she'll prob turn up at 5pm!

Olivo good luck at docs.

Melsy, nearly there love! Sending vibes your way! Ask for a sweep if you haven't gone already......

dreamydowler · 08/08/2006 11:50

aaawww snowboo he sounds a hungry horrace lol your milk will be plentiful when it comes in though after all that suckling poor baby having heel prick test I hate it when they cry. Melsey and olivo hope all is going well. Wish someone would let us know how eeny and booby are doing

olivo · 08/08/2006 12:26

hello again. have had blood taken to check that the itching isnt caused by that liver thing and been given steroid cream as my bump is now all red with raised patches. hmm, and i measure another centimetre since 5 days ago how am i going to get this (not so) little one out?
oh, and also, birthing pool unlikely to be ready for when i have it so

will have to console myself with a packet of iced party rings (and I wonder why its putting on weight?!)

i thought there might be news from booby or eeny or YF

PinkTulips · 08/08/2006 12:38

they're all still offline on msn anyway so figers crossed they're all busy pushing!

olivo · 08/08/2006 12:46
