How fast do we get through these threads?

OP posts:

Under bump jeans and leggings... I know I'm only 11 weeks but given where my bump is right now I think under bumps would be indecent ; ) hoping it starts heading upwards soon...

FriendofDorothy · 02/02/2014 22:36

Sillyme - I noticed they had the other colour in stock to I have ordered and 18 & 20 to try on

Ruggle · 03/02/2014 08:13

Bit of advice about ordering from Seraphine. They often show items on their website that appear to be in stock. You go ahead and order and then aftervit has been processed they tell you it is out of stock. If you need to return anything (which I did after my mmc) they take around a month to process the refund and don't send any updates so you end up chasing them all the time and have to listen to their lies abouy not having received your package when in fact you have a Royal Mail delivery receipt. They'll even ask you to send as proof to prolong their stalling tactics. I thought mine was a one off case but found many more on Trustpilot.
John Lewis stock Seraphine clothes online. Their returns procedure might be less traumatic!
With ASOS and JoJooMamanBebe I had my refunds within 5 and 7 days...and no fuss at all.

Owlysims · 03/02/2014 08:29

Good luck for any scans today, had awful nights sleep sat and made the mistake of having a nap yesterday afternoon which resulted in another bad night last night Hmm roll on bedtime I'm so tired!!

londonchick · 03/02/2014 08:42

Thanks Owly! My scan is in an hour. Fingers crossed!

Good luck to the others today

OveranxiousUnderated · 03/02/2014 09:11

Good luck to all those being scanned today Smile

I am 14+1 today and had to cave and announce it on Facebook last night which I didn't really want to do but turns out DH's family are incapable of keeping quiet until we had told all the family in person, so we were both incredibly pissed off and decided to just announce it to everyone in one go.

My symptoms were almost gone but now from about 5pm onwards I have this horrible travel sickness feeling which lasts all night peaking at about 10pm and the only thing that takes it away is constant eating which then has a knock on effect with my inability to sleep due to a full tummy! Grrrr.

X

HungryHorace · 03/02/2014 09:25

Owly, crap night here too. :-/ Thank god DD is a late riser!

I've also managed to trap a nerve or something in my neck and it hurts to turn my head. Hmmm.

I'm feeling queasy this morning. Sickness is apparently making a return. Not keen on that!

Good luck for all the scans today. :-)

Our cot bed is coming today. Have to decide where to put it as it's not being built yet!

CountdownBegins · 03/02/2014 09:41

Good luck with the scans today ladies!

Another one here with a rubbish nights sleep...

flymo79 · 03/02/2014 09:43

good luck for the scans today! looking forward to more good news.
Had a very tiring weekend and am suffering today, sickness is back (I'm 14+2) and have a stinky cold.
Also heard on Friday that our team is being restructured. I'm so cross. DP says that at least they will have to offer me same/similar to what I am doing at the moment, due to mat. leave, but I am quite confused by it all, especially as the restructure will affect all of us. If anyone can help/advise that would be great. There are four of us who do a similar level job. If they don't get the restructure sorted until the summer (i.e. clarify what the new jobs will be and who can go for them), what if I go off on mat. leave before I can apply for/interview for my old job or whatever is being offered?

sorry for long ramble, just in a bit of a panic!!

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 11:00

Flymo Do you have a decent HR dept? I'd definately get them involved and see where you stand, but as far as I understand they have to offer you something the same legally. I remember a lady who was on Mat leave during one of our restructures and there weren't enough jobs for people but she was allocated on automatically and didn't have to worry. Hope it's ok, this is all you need!

Good luck for scans today all.

Hungry I too ordered a cot and matress from kiddicare sooooooo cheap! Managed to convince DH even though he didn't want to buy furniture til after 20 week, it was too good an offer to refuse and the mattress was half price too!

londonchick · 03/02/2014 11:06

Back from my scan! All good. Baby was wriggling about all over the place! Been put back a week though so now only 12weeks tomorrow. New EDD 19/08. Will update list when I'm at the laptop later or tomorrow!

Secretlypregnant · 03/02/2014 11:14

Good luck to all being scanned today - looking forward to hearing about it!

Secretlypregnant · 03/02/2014 11:14

Ooh, cross post! Congratulations, Londonchick! Lovely lovely news!

Owlysims · 03/02/2014 12:24

Great news London chick!! Smile

HungryHorace · 03/02/2014 13:01

Excellent, lovely news Londonchick.

Piña, we didn't get a mattress as they don't quite have the equivalent of the one we've got for DD. I need to set up a Baby Plan with Mothercare for the Isofix base and the mattress which we will pay off when we've sold our current pram, car seat and Isofix base.

londonchick · 03/02/2014 13:14

Thanks!! Have enjoyed telling family this morning. Back to work now though. Boo!!

flymo79 · 03/02/2014 13:24

thanks Pina - that's reassuring. It's good to hear stories where people haven't been totally shafted during mat. leave. It's made me quite paranoid about the timing of it all... someone said (not very helpfully) 'sounds like the sort of thing they do to get rid of someone'.

lucyfluff · 03/02/2014 13:40

Great news London Grin glad it all went well.

Im feeling really sicky again today, thought it had eased off but no every couple of hours it hits me if my tummy is empty. I suppose its an excuse to eat junk food!!!

Finnable · 03/02/2014 13:42

Just checking in all - so lovely to hear of scans and shopping! I'm still 9 days away from my scan, and it's dragging! My belly is big and sticky out already, I had a nice pair of over the bump jeans from Dorothy Perkins, they're perfect apart from the length, they seem to be cut for a giant!
One lesson to go then I'm off to peruse the Kiddicare website...

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 14:08

Hungry I had absolutely no idea about mattress buying, I can't exactly ask the baby do you want it to be firm or soft? Hows your back? which is what i'd do for myself haha, so just went for one not too expensive that was well rated.

Flymo I wouldn't worry at all, If the worst came to the worst you could take them straight to a tribunal for getting rid of you because of your pregnancy, my friend did it 6/7 years ago, there is a pregnancy discrimination act, im sure she got about 12k!!

flymo79 · 03/02/2014 14:18

thanks Pina, I've a feeling if they're restructuring the whole department that wouldn't count as singling me out though, with three other people in the same boat it's not going to look as though they tried to get rid of me. I prob. need to call the employment helpline or something....

WeeJo08 · 03/02/2014 14:28

Haven't had a chance to look through all the posts. My weekend did NOT go as planned Hmm Mum & I had booked to go to a gorgeous spa hotel from yesterday to today but first Mum came down with a tummy bug then my DH then me Confused So no hotel stay & feeling horrendous. Feeling very sorry for myself - sorry for the moan.

Hope everyone had a good weekend & scans went/are going well x

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 14:29

Hmm i'd still say that you could say pregnancy was the reason they chose you over others, would be worth a try, but I don't think it will come to that and i'll keep everything crossed for you that it doesn't. Yes that might give you some reassurance, it must be worrying on top of other worries.

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 14:31

Aww Jo thats really poo :( (err just realised what I wrote there.... should I change it from 'poo' to 'rubbish'?... i'm going to leave it....)

Hope you're feeling better, can you rearrange the Spa? Hope you can, get well soon xx

lucyfluff · 03/02/2014 14:36

Grin pina!!!

Hope your feeling a bit better now Jo?? what a nightmare!!
