How fast do we get through these threads?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
flymo79 · 03/02/2014 14:38

oh weeJo, that's so unfortunate!! I'm so sorry. It's bad enough having to put up with everything without having to cancel things you are looking forward to and make you feel good. I second Pina, rebook it or treat yourself to a massage near by at a salon or something when you're feeling better.
Thanks for the advice Pina, really appreciate it, and thanks for reassuring me. In a moany monday 'poor me' kind of a mood today, even tough I've no reason other than paranoia!

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 14:45

I'd be absolutely the same, I'm a worrier! I'm sure it will be fine though, keep us posted.

On the subject of worrying... I saw an article on Facebook about threads in babies socks cutting off the circulation in their toes and babies losing toes because of it... subsequently when I next saw DH I gave him a quick warning about it for our future little one and he was taking the absolute pi*s out of me, he said i've taken it to a whole other level worrying about our baby thats months away from being born losing it's toes from stray threads in its socks. He is probably right to be fair...

WeeJo08 · 03/02/2014 14:55

Thanks ladies, and Pina I really laughed at your poo comment Grin I'm glad you left it in!

We managed to cancel in time so we aren't out any money plus we can re-book for another weekend. Definitely going to re-book for a Sunday night though - I think staying in a hotel on a Sunday night is one of life's great luxuries Grin Nothing beats that "Haha! Everyone's at work!" feeling on a Monday!

Trying to psyche myself up to get up & have a shower - I know it'll make me feel better but the bathroom is just. So. Far. Away. (It's the next room).

HungryHorace · 03/02/2014 14:58

I can safely say I've never worried about DD's socks maiming her. And I'm a worrier! :-)

Piña, DD has this mattress: www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-70-x-140cm-Cot-Bed-Spring-Interior-Mattress-with-Spacetec-and-COOLMAX-freshFX/266208,default,pd.html

Kiddicare doesn't quite have an equivalent, so we will just get that one again. For us, it's the breathable / keeping cool aspect which is important.

Sorry you've been ill Jo. I hope you're all feeling better now. I agree that you should rebook too.

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 15:09

Ooh heck now I'm worried (ha) i've gone for a too simple one, I didn't think there was much to a mattress. Bit late now oops, hopefully the one we got will be ok

HungryHorace · 03/02/2014 15:25

I'm sure it'll be fine. :-)

I wouldn't worry too much. We originally got that one as we were meant to have a donated cot bed so spent more on the mattress. We then had to buy a cot bed as it was evident the donated one wasn't going to come in time.

I went for the cheapest cot bed and it's actually really sturdy, so I'm glad we did as anything else would've been more money spent than was necessary. And we hadn't budgeted for it as it was.

wejammin · 03/02/2014 15:26

Just checking in! Lovely to hear of all the new scans.

I bought underbump jeans thinking it would be too hot in summer for overbump ones, I hope they don't fall down. DS is a winter baby so all my maternity stuff is knitwear which will be no good this time, aaargh!

Having a very lazy afternoon, have stuck Cbeebies on and DS has got every.single.toy out, but I totally overdid it at the weekend entertaining family and taking DS swimming this morning, and I feel completely exhausted. Need to remember to slow down!

PinaColadas · 03/02/2014 15:29

I'll have to see what it's like tomorrow when it arrives, maybe we should try and swap it for a more expensive sprung one. DH is going to love saying told you so for rushing into it... :D

WeeJo08 · 03/02/2014 15:33

Stop the press. I am out of bed. Grin

mszeen · 03/02/2014 15:34

checking in Smile

eeyore2911 · 03/02/2014 15:37

I'm still hovering in this group even though I should be chucked out at EDD now 23rd July with the threat of induction on 2nd due to twin factor lol!! Grin

AntoinetteCosway · 03/02/2014 15:49

Hello all. We are a poorly house at the moment, and DD woke us all up at 4.30 with her coughing and then didn't/wouldn't/couldn't go back to sleep, so given that I didn't go to sleep in the first place till 1.30 I am a bit of a mess today! Any tips for getting through the afternoon without resorting to espresso?

flymo79 · 03/02/2014 16:28

aw, sorry to hear you are all poorly antoinette. I suggest drinking lots of very cold water, interspersed with hot lemon and honey. Very soothing.

ClarissaG · 03/02/2014 16:31

so pleased and relieved - the baby was virtually back flipping on the scan picture, all over the place and heart beating away. bang on 12+3. DH was getting irritated at how much I worried before hand and how negative I was being - he was right. Now an evening of telling my parents, brother, in laws etc Smile

Cazbg · 03/02/2014 16:43

Congratulations to all those with scans today! Just had our scan and all was fine except the little bean wouldn't stay still. 12+6 so just where we expected : ) crazy when u can see it moving all over the place but can't feel it. Just had a pie e of came to celebrate. We are telling close family but waiting till Friday to tell the rest as the have said that if there is anything wrong with the downs test they will let us know by then. My nt reading was 2.3mm which the sonographer seemed quite happy with. Really want to get excited just a few more days : )

QueenOfGeeks · 03/02/2014 18:42

Glad to hear all the good scan news, have been a bit absent from the thread as things have been manic here.

My scan is tomorrow morning so getting a bit nervous now, hope I manage to get a good night's sleep.

Rootvegetables · 03/02/2014 19:32

Glad everyone has had lovely scans, Clarissa I hope your mind is put at rest now too! I've got mine in the morning and hoping to see both babies happily back flipping! Good luck anyone else with scans tomorrow.

Secretlypregnant · 03/02/2014 19:44

Are those who've had their scans going to come and join us on the secret Facebook group?

flusteredmumto2 · 03/02/2014 19:47

Just a pop in. Scan tomorrow and I'm starting to get stupidly nervous. I have a tummy now ( more so tgan usual anyway) and dp is getting very excited as its his first. He can't be with me for the scan as he works away most the time so I think that's making me worse as I'll be on my own. Its not till 2.30 so lots of thumb twiddling will be done as no college tomorrow.

Thatsnotmyfigure · 03/02/2014 20:18

Scan went well - baby somersaulted into perfect position and we heard the heartbeat too. All still seems slightly surreal! Still going to wait for full nuchal result before telling the world due to my age and my friend's experience but sonographer did say the nuchal result by itself was good! Phew! Looking forward to a much better night sleep tonight! Glad others OK too!
I did question the changing of my due date as they've made it 6 days earlier even though I know my LMP and ovualtion date. It'll affect induction timings and birth centre criteria just like last time, but that's not a battle I'm going to fight today. It can wait...

Thatsnotmyfigure · 03/02/2014 20:18

What's the facebook group all about?!

Owlysims · 03/02/2014 20:27

Great news that'snotmyfigure Smile

Secretlypregnant · 03/02/2014 20:32

That's great news! So pleased for you.

The fb page is a totally private group just for people on this thread - your fb friends couldn't see anything of it. If you want to join it, just mumsnet message anyone who is on it with your email address.

Secretlypregnant · 03/02/2014 20:33

Did they say how long till you get the full results?
