How fast do we get through these threads?

EssexGirlLottie · 01/03/2014 08:23

Hi. Is it too late to join you? I'm due 13th august.

travispickles · 01/03/2014 08:27

Hi essexgirl- not too late, no! Welcome... How's your pregnancy going?

2beornot · 01/03/2014 09:10

Hey Essexgirl and disneydiva. Always room on this train - move along everyone!!!

It's probably really good that the threads are slowing down, means that were all just plodding along!

In my world, dug out the mat clothes and starting getting water retention (and pitting oedema). Fun!!

HungryHorace · 01/03/2014 10:33

Hi newbies :-)

Nothing much happening here today. Decided I hate having an anterior placenta as I don't often feel movements. :-/

I'm doing a pre-work housework blitz today as I finish mat leave this week. Boo. Not happy. But at least it's only 3 months!

Lissbug · 01/03/2014 11:37

Morning all. Dorothy Perkins has a sale online for the next couple of days and if you go to vouchercodes.co.uk you can get a code for an extra 20% off. Not a huge maternity range but maybe good for a few basics!

eurochick · 01/03/2014 12:23

Hi all,

Room for another? I've been lurking for a while but not brave enough to join. I joined my last AN thread early and had to drop off when I mc'd and found it really hard every time it popped up on Active Convos.

I'm eurochick, 38, EDD 28 August (like Mitchell and Disney. :) ) My EDD is also our wedding anniversary (aw).

If all works out, this will be our first, after 3 years of ttc, an mc, 2 rounds of IUI and 4 of IVF, so it has been a hard fought journey to get to this point, and I am still quite nervous.

HungryHorace · 01/03/2014 13:28

Hi eurochick :-)

Welcome! That's one hell of a journey you've had. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

mssleepyhead · 01/03/2014 14:24

eurochick - i think i remember you from the ttc boards - congrats and welcome!

15 weeks today over here and i've noticed a big difference between how my maternity jeans are fitting this week compared to last weekend...

i'm also annoyed because going back to school has brought the spotting back. it disappeared in the holidays, but being on my feet and active all day just seems to mean brown spotting for me. i'm trying to brush it off as that's what all of the midwives and nurses have done so far.

also about to book a gender scan for three weekends time. eek!

mssleepyhead · 01/03/2014 14:26

ps. i also picked up free vitamin d, folic acid and vitamin c tablets from our pharmacy today. i don't think everyone can get them as it only seems to be some councils who offer them but worth checking if yours does!

Lissbug · 01/03/2014 14:58

I know how you feel eurochick. I'm due on 21 August after 4 miscarriages, one of which was a natural pregnancy, the others were either IUI or IVF. Our dream finally seems to be coming true but every day I worry that something is wrong....just need to take one day at a time and tell myself 'today I am pregnant'. That does seem to help!

HungryHorace · 01/03/2014 15:29

Mssleepyhead, we get those free vitamins here too. They're the ones I'll move onto once my pregnancy ones come to an end next month. :-)

Not good about the spotting, but at least you have a cause for it, if nothing else.

HungryHorace · 01/03/2014 15:43

2be...do you drink enough water? If you don't, you can get water retention from the body hoarding the little fluid you give it.

Or are you susceptible anyway?

FriendofDorothy · 01/03/2014 16:39

Hi euro nice to see you round these parts Smile

2beornot · 01/03/2014 17:35

Hungry - I did get it with dd, but not quite this early. Will definitely up my water intake though - thank you!!

eurochick · 01/03/2014 17:50

Thanks dor . Lissbug "today I am pregnant" just about sums it up. I've had 3 continuous weeks of bleeding so far, so every time I have a scan and all is well I am in disbelief. You have had one helluva journey too! My mc was from my first cycle of IVF - so cruel.

DisneyDiva87 · 01/03/2014 22:43

I'm sorry you have had a horrendous time of it lissbug and eurochick. Makes me even more grateful, we are all having wee miracles but you guys more than others. Hope the rest of the pg goes smoothly

Hope your bleeding clears up soon euro

P.s. definitely no spangles and feathers here at least not for the next few months! ;-)

eurochick · 02/03/2014 08:35

Thanks. The bleeding was from 6 and a half to 9 and a half weeks, so I've had none for a while, but am still on knickerwatch in case it returns!

HungryHorace · 02/03/2014 09:05

Did they give you a reason for it, euro, or just reassured you about baby, so you've no idea what causes it? Or is it 'one of those things' with no explanation?

Fx you have a smooth journey to the end now.

I had two incidents of bleeding with DD due to a cervical ectropian, and I've been warned it could happen again this time, so I keep expecting blood. Nothing yet though, thankfully.

Another crap night's sleep here so I've got a headache now.

Need to be productive today again. Not as much / physical as yesterday though! :-)

eurochick · 02/03/2014 10:30

It was a sub chorionic haematoma. My first EPU scan didn't find. it. On the second one I could see a pool of blood sitting outside the sac. The bleed was very heavy, red and crampy when it started (and I was sure it was all over) and then eased, but just went on and on and on!

I hope your headache eases. I think I have had more headaches since BFP than in the previous 10 years combined!

HungryHorace · 02/03/2014 11:55

That must have been so scary for you. I'm glad it's stopped now :-)

I tend to be prone to hormonal headaches (the contraceptive injection was a godsend for stopping these) so I get loads when pregnant. It's a joy!

weeza13 · 02/03/2014 18:28

Hi Eurochick and Lissbug. So sorry to hear all that you have been through, congratulations on these pregnancies and hope they continue smoothly. Had first time wearing a maternitiy top last night out and everyone seemed very surprised at size of my bump as have been wearing baggier clothes at work. Am 19 weeks on monday and still itching to feel movement but looking forward to scan on friday. How many of you have felt baby move and at how many weeks? Hope you have had where possible relaxing weekends.

londonchick · 02/03/2014 21:20

Welcome eurochick! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

travispickles · 02/03/2014 22:15

Weeza I too am not feeling much. I did a couple of times then nothing which freaked me out. Anyway the mw checked and it was ok so just have to have faith! When's your scan?

mssleepyhead · 02/03/2014 22:29

Weeza - I'm like you. 15+1 and desperate for a kick! I've felt a couple of things which could be the baby shifting, but it's over so fast I can't tell what it is so I'm not thinking it's really movement yet. The wait till 20 weeks sounds like forever so hoping I'm one of the lucky ones who feels something early...

Missvaughan85 · 02/03/2014 22:55

Girls need some advice, have any of you used canesten during your pregnancy?? I've just put the foot cream on my feet and then panicked and washed it off. Having a bit of a melt down now
