Didn't see one started, as our last thread looks full. Let's hope we are all kicking the early pregnancy sickness and starting to glow :)

Hi all,
Just been attempting to catch up on everyone's news - although I'm about 300 posts behind so havnt quite got there yet.
Congrats on the pink news lemon how lovely Grin are there any blue July 2014 babies yet?
I'm 17 weeks today and am trying to hold on till March 3rd to find out the gender (my 20 week scan) am desperate to go private but DP says we shouldn't "waste" money Hmm.

I had a quad test this week as nucheal measurement couldn't be found at 12 week scan. Apparently if I'm high risk they'l call me in a week, if low risk I'll get a letter in 2, so hopefully my phone doesn't ring.

Had my first appointment with MW last week, I love my MW was the same one I had with DS although am gutted as she was retiring the day after so I won't see her again. Also had a consultant appointment as DS was low birth weight and prem. I get to have a growth scan at 28 weeks and possibly 34. Glad I'll get to see bubba a few extra times.

Sickness has mostly gone - although ordered a pizza last night and couldn't manage eating it.

Clothes wise, I'm still wearing normal jeans. Belly looks like iv had toooo many pies but isn't looking like a baby bump yet which is annoying.
Gone from a 34C to a 36DD though - which I'm quite enjoying Grin

AuntieMaggie · 13/02/2014 19:20

zing i meant when the baby is born :)

icklekid · 13/02/2014 19:30

justhayley I would love to be able to eat a pizza! Still on the cereal here :-( have fancied a cup of tea for the first time in months though. :-)

MrsA2 · 13/02/2014 21:07

Thanks Zing and that's a good point that my notes should be enough.

Scan day for us today and everything looked well. Baby is naughty though, every time she tried to scan near its face it turned away - obviously didn't like the pressure near its face. They said it was a right wriggler but I knew that already with all the kicks and odd shapes in my belly! Big relief that all looks good.

ZingSweetApple · 13/02/2014 21:20

Maggie

aha, I see!Smile

well it was different for all of ours.

DS1 - he was forceps delivery so as soon as he was lifted out I saw his bottom and started shouting to MrZing: "It's a boy, it's a boy, I can see his bollocks!"Grin

DS2 - same, but this time I toned it down to: "It's a boy, I can see his balls!"

DS3 - shot out of me on last push so as they caught him the MW and DH checked together, the MW announced "it's a boy!" and I asked "are you sure?"
hilarity ensued

DS4 - EMSC so MrZing was by my head and just before they lifted DS4 out they lowered the screens so we could see him face to face and examine the"goods".Wink
I'm pretty sure we both declared "it's a boy!" at the same time - but MrZing may have said it first.

DS5 - we had found out, so I think the MW said it and we just replied with" oh yes, we knew"

DD - she was delivered onto my tummy withher back on my tummy, head nearest my head so I couldn't see a thing.
they were fussing with the cord so I asked "so, what do we have?"
to which MW said "oh, shall we find out?"
me : Confused yeah!
so they looked, and she said casually "oh, just look at that!" like they were at a party!
that was annoying. ffs I just wanted to know!
me , impatiently: "so what is it?"

DH looked up grinning, declared "It's a girl!" and burst into tears.
it was a gorgeous moment!Smile

(he is a big softie, he cried before me every time!)

ah, a trip down memory lane!

hth

ZingSweetApple · 13/02/2014 21:24

correction - DS4 was ELCS

MrsB2013 · 13/02/2014 21:47

Zing How silly of the school, you can't send them in when they are ill!!

Mrsc did you find out the gender?

lemon awww a little pink one!

Hayley I'm having a blue one!

MrsA when I had the gender scan, he kept wriggling away and hiding lol Did you find out if its pink or blue?

20 Week scan tomorrow afternoon for me, can't wait to see him again! Good luck to the others having scans tomorrow!!!

MrsA2 · 13/02/2014 21:55

MrsB it's quite funny watching them wriggle away isn't it. We didn't want to find out. The sonographer told us when to look away but to be honest I doubt we'd have been able to guess anyway!

justhayley · 13/02/2014 22:09

Icklekid I had my first tea (apart from ginger) this week too, it was bloody lovely lol.

Awww Zing I love your gender birth stories. I knew DS was a boy, can't remember if the MW said it or not. All I remember is him coming out & me saying is he massive? (I had been telling the MW baby was a stone during labour & was convinced that's why I was in so much pain) - he was 5lbs 3 lol

dramajustfollowsme · 13/02/2014 23:46

I've got my scan tomorrow! I'm very excited.
I'm not so delighted to STILL have the flu. Was back at the doctor today as I couldn't believe I could still feel lousy over 2 weeks later. Confused
He has signed me off but since it is half-term, I'm off anyway. Just looks like my sorting and organising of stuff is not going to be happening. I can barely find the energy to get to the loo - let alone sort through the crap in the spare room.
Hope the baby opens it's legs tomorrow and it is very obvious. Our hospital won't tell you gender but we will go for a private gender scan if it isn't obvious.

BlueC2 · 14/02/2014 07:44

Feeling wrecked-was exhausted yesterday after bad night but last night much worse as I was awake 1.30-5am :( and DS1 woke up 15 mins ago and although DH has him I can't fall back asleep. Was supposed to be taking DS to his swimming lesson this morning (which is like an aquanatal workout for me) then dropping him to childminder before meeting DH at hospital for our scan-no way I can manage swimming now though!

Plus DH got some plan up his sleeve for breakfast which will no doubt be lovely but I fear it's v complicated and I'm SO hungry right now but darent go in the kitchen and don't want to be ungrateful for his efforts but something normal right now would work best!

So flippin hormonal as so so tired-think I may cry now and at the scan-i always get so nervous before them!

Ipsumlorem · 14/02/2014 07:47

sorry ladies was half asleep at last post - of course I meant lemon must be excited Blush

mummytobejuly2014 · 14/02/2014 07:48

Good luck for all the scans today & Happy Valentines Day all you mummy's*
jealous I have to wait another 2 & half weeks when im actually 20wks nxt week :(

ellentullo · 14/02/2014 07:58

Been having little belly "pops" for the last week. I thought that it would be a while before DH could feel them, but last night he had his head on my belly and got a little kick in the face which was amusing for all!

BlueC2 · 14/02/2014 09:46

So my breakfast treat was actually v v yummy if a tad indulgent for 8.30am-homemade churros (Spanish donuts) dipped in thick hot chocolate Grin I now feel slightly sick but quite nicely full and DH dropping DS off to childminder so the house is quiet too. Sorry for the moan earlier, still exhausted but at least chirpier!

Hope everyone else who has scans today is doing ok and that they go well

Ellen :) for kicking your DH-DS1 used to do that and this one turning into a real wriggler too!

Plateofcrumbs · 14/02/2014 10:36

oh my goodness homemade churros, amazing!

I was absolutely out for the count when DH left for work this morning, but woke up to find a little tray made up with pastries, OJ and a thermos of coffee. DH isn't one for the overblown romantic gesture so I was really really touched.

I went to another pregnancy yoga class last night, which was mostly full of women about to pop. So I did feel a bit fraudulent with my mini-bump (the class was very friendly and welcoming though) and the yoga was extremely gentle - physically would have got far more out of doing the 10min pilates.

dramajustfollowsme · 14/02/2014 12:43

Bouncing baby with a very cute profile! I'm totally in love!
Our hospital won't tell you the sex of the baby but both dh and I are pretty certain we saw some balls! Grin
Baby being a complete poser and we got lots of fab pictures.
I now have to explain to dh how I "accidentally" went into mothercare and bought an outfit. Most of our newborn stuff from dd is neutral, so can be used again either way. However I would like the baby to have one brand new outfit.

justhayley · 14/02/2014 13:22

Mmmmm churros Grin

Think I'm having a belated valentines, DP is military and has been told he's helping with the floods this weekend rather than coming home Sad

I bought a little white babygrow last week :) if bump is a boy I'll be getting out DS stuff so won't get to buy much, but if it's a girl I can shop shop shop :) DS didn't have much neutral stuff. Dying to buy some bits & start getting ready. Waiting to find and move into new house though as no point having extra stuff to move.

Patchwork88 · 14/02/2014 13:22

Hello :-)
Just wondering if anyone else has just got big? Im 20 wks and had a bit of a bump but still diaguisable but it feels like today it's just popped out and is now impossible to deny!
It's nice in a way but combined with some serious wriggling and kicking it's really starting to make pregnancy feel real! Eek!

Plateofcrumbs · 14/02/2014 14:45

Patchwork - disappointingly I swear my bump has shrunk this week!

NancyinCali · 14/02/2014 15:50

Happy valentine's day! I am to expect a delivery later apparently... We'll be cooking dinner together later after DD is in bed.

Kicks are getting stronger here, think DH will be able to feel them soon (17w). It was 21w before he felt DD1.

Better go, DD is awake and getting fed up that I'm not getting her up yet!

BlueC2 · 14/02/2014 17:06

Well little beany quite a shy one here but all is well! Think he/she (we didn't find out) may have had a post-churros sugar crash as was fast asleep so bump was rather pummelled by the sonographer to get it to move and be cooperative for checks and measurements. Glad to hear other scans gone well and Valentine's treats happening!

mummytobejuly2014 · 14/02/2014 18:23

Unproductive and productive day here. Unproductive as in went to a bigger town which has a big Next, a big New Look, a Dorothy perkins, a topshop & a H+M - mission was to get a pair of maternity jeans to fit. No joy, only new look & h+m stocked a small selection of maternity and of course none of of it fit. Feeling rather chavy wearing tracksuit bottoms and being in my mid/late 20s. Although on a brighter note I got my Emmas Diary freebie packs from the big Boots & also got an avent natural manual breastpump which was half price then id my 1/3 off avent voucher from the parents club it only cost me £12 :) also got an isofix family fix maxi cosi base off gumtree for £40 in fab condition (couldnt justify £175 new) to go with our new Pebble.
glad scans are going well :) xo

ismarah · 14/02/2014 19:02

I don't really feel bean very much - unless some of the weird jabbing pains are bean. I kind of have to sit and pay attention to it and bean has to be quite vigorous in order for me to notice. Oh and every time I wee I feel a pain in my abdomen which Dr Google tells me is normal if not common.

I look definitely pregnant, which at 19+4 makes sense but I still find myself either checking my reflection in windows to be sure or being surprised by how big I look. I don't think I've put on a huge amount of weight though but any belly flab is all pushed up and out making the bump look bigger.

20w scan isn't until Monday week so I'm just trying not to worry too much. 20weeks was when our friends found out their bean wasn't viable so that's kind of up front in my mind. If I mention to DH anything about any aches or pains or worries he gets even more anxious than me, so I'm trying to keep this to myself, really.

And this flipping weather is really starting to get on my nerves even though we are very lucky where we are.
