Definitely sympathise liquid. I couldn't cope without my husband at the moment as he handles everything to do with ds and makes my dinner! I hope your mum can help make things easier.

BEEwitched · 18/01/2014 22:01

I am sending BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG hugs your way, liquid, because it sounds as if you need them.

It's ten o'clock, it's baby dancing time (also known as ouchy groin attack...) - there's definitely someone awake in there!

Liquidambar · 18/01/2014 22:11

Hugs received Bee Grin

Mimi74 snap I have my 20 week scan on the 7th of feb also. Are you having a baby bond scan? I had one three weeks ago at exactly 16 weeks. The appointment takes about 20 mins, the sonographer looks at the baby does a few checks, points out nose, mouth, fingers, etc. all the while taking some stills. It was a bit like my 12 week scan actually, except some of it was in 3/4d not sure which one, but it was freaky. She left the sex towards the end of the appointment and me and oh couldn't tell whilst she was doing the other checks so were anxiously waiting. I was so sure I was having another girl because my symptoms were exactly the same as my other pregnancies but evidently not! Have fun tomorrow.

I'm also jealous of those who are feeling kicks and flutters. This is my third and I'm not sure if I can't remember what the flutters feel like, but so far nothing.

Sareva · 19/01/2014 00:09

Liquid another one sending hugs, my oh also works away from time to time so I know how hard it can be, but especially so during this period and with other children. I'm very luck and thankful that I live near to my parents and alot of my family who are on hand to help me out.

MarlenaGru · 19/01/2014 10:57

liquid I am glad he is trying to negotiate less time away. One of my pet hates is the way nobody seems to think a father might need to be around. My DH's previous company sent him to India for a month last year! Dh was so excited to go and I was livid as all childcare etc then fell to me. We both work full time so share things mostly.

Luckily he really missed DD while he was away and she barely slept a single whole night while he was gone. If I had been pregnant too I would have run away! I don't think he will ever agree to a trip like that again.

Now I just need to get him to come home early enough to bath DD once of twice a week! Weekends I have become very lazy though as I just can't do it all anymore.

noseymcposey · 19/01/2014 11:48

Another here starting to feel pregnant and knackered - I am only 20 weeks! Trying to get lots done as I barely moved from the sofa for the first trimester as was really quite ill with sickness and bronchitis and ended up having over 20 days off work. Eek!

Anyway feeling like I need to make up for lost time but I just have no energy. I also keep getting really quite breathless (already??) and get a pounding heart when lying down? I was trying to give the kitchen a good cleaning this morning and ended up just sitting at the kitchen table staring into space. This is no good! We have soo much to do, we had just moved house when I fell pregnant and there is just so much that needs doing in house! Energise me please someone!

summerbaby2014 · 19/01/2014 11:55

Nosey- I know the feeling! I also feel a bit useless sometimes.

DH is currently sanding down the living room floor with his Dad and I'm lying down and surfing MN. I was quite frustrated at first because I can do so much less than before, but now I'm just lying here feeling the baby kick me and letting them get on with it.

I should probably haul ass and make them some lunch soon

summerbaby2014 · 19/01/2014 11:57

DH was away with work last week, but the perks are that I get chocolates and macaroons when he gets back Grin

Plus this is our first so that makes it easier

CleverOl10 · 19/01/2014 12:14

Summer and Nosey I know what you mean. Still sat on the sofa in my pjs while dh finishes hanging out the washing he put on and gets ds ready to go to tesco. I feel pretty useless but dh keeps telling me that my job is to look after the new baby and keep myself healthy. Although I do just look at the mess our house is in and despair. When does nesting kick in????

Poetschild · 19/01/2014 12:16

DH'S unattached PhD supervisor is encouraging him to apply for a job that would take him to China for 6 weeks per year. Hmph!

MarlenaGru · 19/01/2014 13:01

Hmm indeed poet
I am fighting with DD who is knackered as been awake since 4 Angry and wants me to bring the entire contents of her bedroom downstairs for her to play.
DH is finally back from his run and I have just finished tidying the kitchen and folding all the washing. My grand plans of making pizza and brownies are looking fairly unlikely at the moment!

summer enjoy it! I struggle to be lazy but really must get over that! I am definitely better than I was first time round!
clever I do wonder why the dads don't get the nesting bug instead. Would be a lot more efficient Wink

BEEwitched · 19/01/2014 13:45

I woke up feeling chipper! The sun is shining, the sea is sparkling, we've had a really long lie in and DH brought me coffee and PBJ toast in bed, now we're off to the beach with the dog.

Only took 5 months for me to feel like a normal human being again!

summerbaby2014 · 19/01/2014 13:55

I think the dads do nest, they just show it through DIY! The impending fatherhood certainly had given DH a lot of motivation.

I actually feel a bit crap today. A bit headachy and sick. Back to the lying down methinks.

Glad you're feeling human now Bee

BEEwitched · 19/01/2014 14:43

Grin Managed a half hour walk before gagging all over the dunes, I call it a success!

HannahC1989 · 19/01/2014 18:15

Having my 20 week scan tomorrow lunchtime.... very excited!! Hoping to find out gender however we couldnt with our first so im slightly worried... were only telling close family... however im slightly tempted to tell you all!

MarlenaGru · 19/01/2014 18:43

Good news BEE
Hope you are feeling better summer and have lovely floors! I agree with DIY nesting, even if it is misguided! DH wants to do the loft which we don't need to do for now... Unfortunately we need to replace the dormer which is beyond his excellent DIY skills!

Good luck hannah hope baby is cooperative! Two weeks tomorrow for me but we aren't finding out gender!

mimi74 · 19/01/2014 19:30

Sareva yes it was a baby bond scan, was lovely. I'm also having a little boy! The 4D/3D picture wasn't too great as he's snuggled right up against the placenta. But was lovely to just watch him on the screen for 15 minutes, I got about 6 different 2D prints including a right between the leg shot of his tackle, that'll be a good one to bring out on his 18th Wink

Bumblebeesmum · 19/01/2014 20:11

Wow Bee your kicks are powerful enough to hurt already? Mine are still at delicate tickling / popping but I'm a few weeks behind you & don't remember when did what last time

Btw those wanting to feel movement - prodding is no where near as good as an ice cold glass of water - down the water goes & 2 seconds later baby will wriggle away! Mwahahaha :)

Bezzabelle · 19/01/2014 20:12

Keeps happening.... I get 4 or 5 obvious kicks/whacks in a row that could be felt from hand on tummy rather than just flutters and then as soon as I get dh to come and feel, baby stops- so annoying!!!!

BEEwitched · 19/01/2014 21:08

Every now and then I get a poke back when I prod my tummy, it's lovely Grin.

Bumble, it doesn't really hurt but it's quite uncomfortable, esp. as he seems to prefer having hus head wedged right into my pelvis! Can't wait until I feel lots of movement.

I've booked a scan for around 30 weeks - I find they help quite a bit with my anxiety, and back home you normally get a scan around that time. 8 knew I'd regret not doing it, too. It's sometime in March.

SleepyNess · 19/01/2014 21:36

Hey all!! Another lovely relaxing weekend!

My tummy is growing by the minute. It's almost scary! My belly button is all stretched out..weird.

All this might be related to the fact that I cannot stop eating. Always looking for something to munch. No gooood!

Redcliff · 19/01/2014 22:53

Bezza - that happened to me all the time last pregnancy . It was like he knew I was calling DP over!

Just came to bed to find DS (6 yo) still awake! At 10, 45!!! Hope the next one is a better sleeper.

Bumblebeesmum · 20/01/2014 07:00

Right that's it ! I'm fed up of being miles behind everyone on here so am forking out £40 for a gender scan this Thursday - can't wait :) :)
