ice dizhin puggy and lib Sad

I seem to sleep for several hours - abet waking up several times including two toilet breaks - but I don't feel refreshed Confused
Hoping I'm just a bit run down or summit.

dizhin79 · 20/01/2014 23:44

I seem to have this period of being wide awake at ridiculous o clock, then pass out in to a really deep sleep til mid morning, luckily I work flexi hours I set myself so it's not bad for work.

I think it coincides Eeeurgh mega growth spurts, which is all the time now!

dizhin79 · 20/01/2014 23:44

with not Eeurgh! Hmm

puggywug81 · 21/01/2014 07:01

Good morning everyone, especially my insomnia buddies, slight improvement last night I managed 3 hours sleep! I can't take any time off though as I am training my replacement. Cannot wait for mat leave to start so I can have some lovely afternoon naps.

OwlinaTree · 21/01/2014 07:55

Oh it's so hard to get out of bed! Really starting to lose interest in work now. Trying to get through next 3 and a bit weeks, completing tasks so lose ends tied up.

FoxMulder · 21/01/2014 08:17

mrs that IS annoying advice. I keep hearing how you should get loads of sleep in before baby is born, but the thing is - you can't store up sleep. I can't, say, get loads of sleep this week then be fine with no sleep next week. It doesn't work like that! Obviously you want to be well rested for the birth, but it's hardly going to sustain you through months of sleepless nights.

It must be particularly annoying for those of your with insomnia.

DitaVonCreamTeas · 21/01/2014 09:42

liberuna I know what you mean about passing out; when I get home after work I have a 'nap' where I think 'oh I'll just have a lie down for a few minutes', then an hour later I wake up in a pool of drool.

Anyone else not actually bought that much baby stuff yet? We've got the big things; few bits of furniture, somewhere for him to sleep, something to push him around in. But apart from 7 newborn sleepsuits and some lanolin for my nips that's it. Hmm I suppose that's what the start of maternity leave is for.

PainAuxRaisins · 21/01/2014 09:49

Still Grin at dizhin's autocorrect fail! I think I'm experiencing an "eeeurgh mega growth spurt" myself this morning as I feel shattered. Thankfully I've booked a day off so I'm going to rest for an hour or two then hopefully have enough energy to go meet up with a friend and her new baby (only 8 weeks old - can't wait!).
Haven't suffered with the insomnia (yet) but sympathies to those who have this every night. I had a wake up call from youngest DD(3) at 5am who insisted it was time to get up - managed to persuade her to go back to sleep after a cuddle and a drink but could've really done without the interruption. Anyway, going to dose myself up on some spatone and feroglobin now and see if that helps - it seems this baby's growth spurt has mainly focused on his leg muscles as I'm getting a right old booting from the inside - ouch!

PainAuxRaisins · 21/01/2014 09:59

Dita I haven't bought anything yet. I still have all the 'big bits' left over from previous kids but it's all the little things for hospital bag (e.g. maternity pads, lansinoh, breast pads, nappies etc) that I don't have. I know there's ages to go but I just want to have it all now so that I can forget about it. I'm working up to week 35 so I don't really want to leave it til then!

commsgirl · 21/01/2014 10:22

Insomnia club - Diz that happens to me, I'm awake 2 - 5 and then so so tired when I have to get up for work at 7. But getting an early night doesn't help either. I'm just getting used to never feeling rested which is probably good preparation!

Fox I completely agree with you, gets so annoying. I could sleep for a whole week and I'd still need to go to bed the next night!

I've bought loads for baby but need to get the hospital bag stuff sorted. It's starting to panic me a bit so I think that'll be this weekend's job. Although I am worried that by the time I get to maternity leave I'll have nothing to organise and be bored!

FoxMulder · 21/01/2014 10:33

I've bought 3 vests and 3 sleepsuits Smile

I've been given a pram & a crib though. Although we want to see if we can alter the crib to become a co-sleeper. Been given a few clothes too.

Still need everything else. And to decorate the nursery. There's not enough free time for all of this.

lumpylumps · 21/01/2014 11:51

Morning all, long time no post. Hope everyone's ok. I'm exhausted too. Is this it now? Constant tiredness till labour day? I can sleep really well day and night. It just doesn't seem to make any difference. Although it didn't help last night. Ds2 was up 4 times. Not sure what that was about. At 3.5 he can pack that in.

Anyway, got to get my lazy arse off the sofa. Just had a nap. Now I've got to go to a friends for lunch. If it wasn't for the actual pregnancy this mat leave lark'd be great!!!

commsgirl · 21/01/2014 13:39

Lumpy tiredness forever I think! How's your SPD? I'm counting down to mat leave Envy

IceNoSlice · 21/01/2014 14:28

12.5 days of work to go...

dizhin79 · 21/01/2014 14:28

Seems like we're all feeling that inevitable horror of no more sleep, one of my friends has a v understanding partner, he goes away for work quite a lot and is up very early for work leaving her to do most of the practical childcare. Every so often he pays for her to have a night on her own in a luxury hotel with sleeping pills and a spa treatment! I used to think this was odd, now I totally get it!

commsgirl · 21/01/2014 16:13

My DP spends at least two nights a week in hotels for work, I'm definitely going to suggest that idea to him diz!

Work is so hectic this week, currently holding my eyes open at my desk!

lumpylumps · 21/01/2014 16:41

comms it's not too bad. Well, that's a lie! I can't walk far at all and am spending most of my time sitting or lying down!!! I do now know my limits so can control it a bit better. I'm just desperate to get out and go for a long walk. I've been off sick since Nov. I'm now on al and my mat leave officially starts in 2 weeks. There's no way I'd have been able to carry on working. How you're all doing it amazes me. I know I've got the spd but the tiredness is just as crippling!!

IceNoSlice · 21/01/2014 19:58

But lumpy your job requires physical effort (nurse, right?) whereas I sit in my car, sit at my desk, eat biscuits then sit in my car again Grin

It's physically harder work looking after DS all day!

mrsmugoo · 21/01/2014 20:21

Sitting at my desk all day is mega uncomfortable with baby in my ribs. I do get up and walk around when I can but I feel stiff as a board by evening and spend all evening lying on my side in the sofa.

OwlinaTree · 21/01/2014 22:36

Just wondering whether people want to guess boy or girl for my baby. Just for fun - I don't know yet!

Clues
Heart rate round 150
Very wiggly
Bump at front and high.
More spotty then usual.
Craving banana milk.

Any guesses?

liberuna · 21/01/2014 23:01

Boy!

dizhin79 · 21/01/2014 23:57

Oooh owlina I'm the same the BP was 156 now about 135, definite Banana milkshake loving, bump fairly high and all in front, not spotty tho.

Most of the peeps have said girl for me! Hmm

OwlinaTree · 22/01/2014 07:55

Oh, one of each so far, thanks guys!!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 22/01/2014 10:35

OwlinaTree I've got heartbeat 145-150, high round bump, and wiggly. No craving for banana milk (salt and vinegar crisps though, yum!) and the sonographer said she'd 'put money on it being a boy'. Still, you can never be sure...

pixiebell79 · 22/01/2014 11:32

I've got a heartbeat of 140, front-heavy bump (not sure if it's high or not) and also very wiggly - sonographer reckons a boy, so I'm going to bet a boy for you too Owlina
